Hi everyone! My best friend is getting married and the bridal party and I are planning a visit to North Fork's wine trail for her bachelorette weekend. We are planning on staying in Greenport, but are unsure of the nightlife. Does anyone from the area have any suggestions? We will be going in late June.

My oldest daughter got married this weekend. My younger daughter is 27 years old. We have a "family friend" who came to the wedding. While at the wedding he was trying to grind up on my daughter at which, she shoved him away, he also on 2 different occasions smacked her butt & squeezed her butt. I wanted so badly to go up to him & punch him in the face but, I figured my daughter could handle her own. She ignored it, I think she did this for her sisters sake to not cause a scene. Apparently, he does this to many women & has done this to her on multiple occasions and she's very uncomfortable with it. Should I have said something? I feel kind-of guilty now that I did not. I realize she is 27 years old but I'm still her mother.

Just a little background. I got engaged a while back and broke it off due to my fiance hiding massive debts from me, and constantly lying about how wedding planning was going while refusing to let me help. She told me every step of the way I couldn't help, then 2 weeks before the wedding demanded I clear my savings to pay for all of the stuff she was wanting to pay for. We agreed on a small wedding. The total cost would have been $4000 (reception in the church, no alcohol, most of the expenses were photographer and dress). I paid $5000 for the honeymoon. I'm out that. No biggie. I dodged a bullet. Here's the problem. All of the gifts were being sent to her. As soon as I broke thing off, I spread the news, but started getting calls from family & friends that the checks sent as wedding gifts were being cashed. They were made out to both her and I. Also she says she is keeping all of the other stuff. Is there anything I can do here? I feel it's extremely poor character to keep a gift that was given for an event that did not happen..

What do you think is the best gift? Have you heard of some unusual gifts given to a couple?
