Question: BIL's GF staying in family home after Dad passed away? Posted: 17 Nov 2015 01:26 PM PST My FIL passed away and left his house to his four children equally. BIL, middle-aged, recently got divorced and now has moved his 23-year-old GF into the family home (by herself) so that she can attend college in the town where the house is located. He mentioned the possibility to his siblings but said if she were accepted, it would only be temporary while she looked for an apartment. Now he's saying it might need to be much longer since she can't get financial aid mid-year. We live a few hours away and had been going there about every six weeks to sort through the contents of the house. Now we feel like we can't go there anymore. She has taken over the master bedroom apparently so there would be no place for us to sleep except the pull-out couch in the living room. If we do go, it's awkward -- we don't even know her. Are we supposed to knock? Does this whole thing seem right to you? |
Posted: 17 Nov 2015 01:07 PM PST I've been in and out of Foster Homes my entire life. My parents abandoned me when I was a baby, and I've grown up pretty much alone. I've changed Foster Homes a lot. I guess they got sick of looking at me or something. Anyway, when I was 10, I moved into this Foster Home, with this couple and their daughter. They were just so nice and sweet to me, I felt like it was the only place I was ever really happy in. I wouldn't talk, though. I literally didn't utter a single word to them the whole time I was there. They were getting through to me, though. I was really starting to think of them as family, until my Foster Mom decided she was sick of me and wanted to get rid of me, that is. And suddenly, before I know it I'm back to changing homes. I'm 17 now, and all these years, I've been feeling such a huge rage for my former Foster Mom. Like, I want to kill her so bad. Am I losing it? |

Question: Need advice on how to cope? Posted: 17 Nov 2015 12:15 PM PST My 26 year old daughter is moving to another country. She is not married yet and still does not have any kids, but all I can think about is missing out on those things because she's so far away. Will I be able to go to her wedding? How often will I be able to see my future grandchildren? My husband thinks I am being over-dramatic, but he just does not get it. It's a mom thing. Have any of you had a child move far away? How did/do you cope? |
Question: Why does my ******* ***** of a mother expect me to be punctual for everything? Posted: 17 Nov 2015 12:07 PM PST My ***** mom got so pissed off when she pulled into the driveway running late to take me to my doctor's appointment and I wasn't ready AT ALL. I don't care that she would have to pay twice the money to reschedule the appointment since I wasn't on time for the original one. Why does she ******* care that I'm NEVER on time for ANYTHING when I don't? |
Posted: 17 Nov 2015 11:51 AM PST My sister is going through her normal teenage drama, "My parents won't let me go out with friends and want me to study, so my life is over", which is normal. Not acceptable, but normal for a teenager. It's having a negative affect on my mom. She's been very depressed lately and will barely speak at meals. I think it has to do with my sister being so argumentative and self-involved. She doesn't think about how what she says affects the other person. I really want to help and make things better, but I don't know how. I just want this heavy feeling of anger lifted from my family. I just want everyone to be happy and get along. How can I lighten the mood? |
Question: Is it normal for a father to shower with his 8 year old daughter? Posted: 17 Nov 2015 11:21 AM PST I'm visiting my soon-to-be in-laws and am shocked & horrified to learn that my fiance's brother-in-law showers w/ his 8 y/o nightly. He behaves as if this is as normal as morning coffee. Please tell me it isn't. I'm visiting my soon to be in-laws for the first time and am shocked & horrified to learn that my fiance's brother-in-law showers w/ his 8 y/o daughter nightly. Question: Can my husband pay child support for a kid he never knew existed? Posted: 17 Nov 2015 11:03 AM PST My husband boss pulled him to the side and told him child support will be garnishing your wages from his check. He said for what I don t have a kid. Can they even garnish his wages for child support without any proof notification? We lived in NY and now we live in Florida. Would that have something to do with it? |
Question: Ways to celebrate each other on anniversary with children present? Posted: 17 Nov 2015 11:00 AM PST So my anniversary is coming up. We decided this year we wanted to go to a water park hotel with our kids. We don t let people watch our kids over night and we wanted to do something fun. The room we will be staying in has a kids room in it. So we will be able to have alone time at night with their door shut. But what are some things we can do during the day and evening that s celebrating us and our marriage? Kids are very young and will need adult supervision and at time. We plan and separating at the water park because one kid is going to be attached to the wager slides and the other will be in the kiddie pool and climbing area. And what are some ways to make our night romantic? I m thinking maybe candle lit dessert or something as it will be well past dinner time when our child go to sleep. |

Question: My sister beat me with a metal rod? Posted: 17 Nov 2015 10:36 AM PST My older sister (she is 27) fights over everything. This time it was the tv remote. I honestly have not been watching tv since I joined college this year (I am 19). She has no job and hasnt had one for years. She sits in front of the tv all day long. After finishing my exams that I have been studying day and night for, I finally want to sit down and watch tv. I had to beg her and she said no. But I have worked so hard. Do I not deserve any peace of mind. She ran in her room and brought a broken metal rod that was once a part of her closet and beat me with it. Is this right? Please help. I am having suicidal thoughts. No matter what my parents and I do, she never moves out and she has made our lives a living hell. |
Question: How to be more organized (stuff laying around the house)? Posted: 17 Nov 2015 10:31 AM PST So, I recently moved in with my boyfriend and we are 3 months pregnant. We live in an apartment complex. Part of the problem is my boyfriend is very unorganized. He also hates to clean. It seems like every week he is bringing in something car or electronic related. Its driving me nuts actually. When we argue over it, he always leaves me with the "where am I supposed to put it?" he literally has no where to put his guy stuff, which I feel bad about. I want to buy cubbies, totes, whatever, but I'm not sure if it Will help since he is so unwilling to put things away. For example, I bought coat hangers and he won't hang his jacket. The bottom of our coat closet is covered with shoes. Plus all over our apartment are his shoes (he has a lot). Do you think making a more organized apartment will help, or do I just need to give my boyfriend tough love and tell him to not buy things that he has no place for? Our apartment has sh*t laying everywhere and it's driving me nuts. Car stuff, video game stuff, tools, speakers, etc. We already have 2 girls and I don't feel comfortable bringing a baby into this apartment. |
Question: Do you see anything dysfunctional about my parents and siblings? Posted: 17 Nov 2015 10:19 AM PST First off I'm a metrosexual male who is self-conscious, non-violent and introverted . I have also had such ideas of attending a program where males are given hairstyle ideas, dance moves that involve the hands and arms and simply being with it. But my parents seem to overlook this where both parents assume I'm a macho man where the father thinks he can just toughen me up by being very inclined at bossing, scolding and blaming me for everything. He has also permanently blacklisted me from.such events while they do the exact opposite for my violent, immatureachk brother and teen siblings by taking them to such program that would've suited me. |
Question: Fiance leaves me over stupid reason.. what should I do? Posted: 17 Nov 2015 10:19 AM PST I have been having some issues with my fiance the past week or so.. we were suppose to get married next year.. I had a credit card that I didn't tell him about and some student loans that he freaked out about when I told him yesterday and now he says I'm dishonest.. not to mention he isn't willing to help my dad who just got laid off and needs a place to live.. I finally told him if my dad cant live with us and if he has a problem with my debt we should end things.. he said that's fine and asked for the ring back.. I told him no.. I didn't mean to have him actually end things I was just mad and said that.. Now he left me with my car payment and bills and I have no job because I quit to plan the wedding.. what can I do? how selfish can he be.. I am thinking I will pawn the ring to get back at him because I have to pay bills.. he's got money for himself and everything he needs.. He also got really mad when he found out I get disability for my GERD. He doesn't have it so he doesn't understand |

Question: I'm in love with a single mom, but I'm worried about becoming a father. I need advice!? Posted: 17 Nov 2015 10:05 AM PST I'm 23 years old and I've been dating a single mom for about 8 months or so (she's 20 and her son is 4). I didn't think far ahead of what things would be like if things got serious. I just knew I was really attracted to her and loved spending time with her. She didn't let me around her son at the beginning, which I understood. Recently things have gotten more serious. She recently told me she loves me. She's had me be around her son a lot more. I know she's seriously thinking of me as husband/father material. I haven't told her yet, but I love her. I know I want to be with her and be what she needs me to be. I'm confident I can be a good husband, but I'm worried about being a father. The biological father pays child support, but that's about it. Out of the eight months we've been dating I saw him once for about ten minutes. I don't think she/her son has seen him much more than that. I honestly don't feel prepared to be a father. I feel like I'm being thrown into this fast, but I know if I want to be with her I need to learn how. How can I be a good father when I have absolutely no idea how? Another thing is if I'm being honest I don't actually love her son. I love her, but not her son. I feel like I need to love her son, but I don't. |
Question: What is this social group that my 27-year-old macho brother blacklisted me from? Posted: 17 Nov 2015 09:59 AM PST Parents took my teen siblings and 27-year-old macho brother to some program for half a day where members have hairstyle ideas and these dance moves, and now my macho 27-year-old brother has decided to permanently blacklist me while my dad forces me to being my brother's old macho self by blaming, scolding and bossing me around for everything around the home Here's a music video containing a dance similar to it https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=a3EMF4ZXpqE I'm actually a metrosexual male who was blacklisted from such events since I missed outm |
Question: I just found out that my mom is having an affair? Posted: 17 Nov 2015 09:53 AM PST I came across it by accident. That doesn't matter much. Either way, I feel hurt and betrayed and I've lost all respect for her. She's a religious person, and this isn't what I expected. In my eyes, no excuse that she can give me will make up for this. I'm sixteen. It's eating me away inside. I don't know what to do. I don't know if I should tell a family member or my dad or my mom. Honestly, I'm at a crossroads. Help please? |
Question: I hate my dad and I want to get back at him, but he s stupidly and inconveniently TOUGH.? Posted: 17 Nov 2015 09:23 AM PST I have never seen him cry unless he was in incredible physical pain or incredibly happy. The only time I have ever seen him even the slightest bit weak, he was still about as tough as the average dad in a normal "go to your room" situation. Even worse, my mom supports him. |
Posted: 17 Nov 2015 09:17 AM PST the kids scream and wake me up super early whenever they stay the night at our house, and my sisters and their husbands slave constantly to support these kids... i think i am the happiest of all our family, probably because i purposefully never put myself in their situation. ive been out of the dating game for a couple years because ive had bad injuries to both my legs, but im finally getting better, i just dont see myself ever wanting to settle down like that once i start dating. will i be a disappointment to my family if i never have kids? i dont want them ever. honestly i know i'd be a better parent than anyone in my family, but it doesnt seem worth it to me. it seems like i would be giving up my life to slave for someone else |
Question: My sister threatened to kill my mother? Posted: 17 Nov 2015 09:08 AM PST she kicked my door (i dont talk much and im quiet around her) and she said she would kill my mother if i dont come out of the room she was screaming, and she said im about to bring the knife. later when confronted by dad she said im lying and told all my relstives im the one who fought. help what do i do. i complained to police but my dad said to them evrything is ok please go back |
Question: How do your step-moms treat you? Posted: 17 Nov 2015 09:02 AM PST My mom died 20 years ago. I've had two step-moms and one was okay but always subtly insinuating her child was better than me. The 2nd one was overtly hateful. I understand they favor their kids but the last one was just cruel. Insulted me on facebook, to my friends, when I got married to my wife. Actually calls herself a conservative Christian. Turned my dad against me when they were married. Now we have no contact, I have my own family and relationship with dad is almost nothing. Have any of you experienced this or am I the only one? |
Posted: 17 Nov 2015 08:56 AM PST Let's say an event that aims to make a male femenone/metrosexual where they have hairstyle ideas and dance moves involve hand and arms. My 27-year-old violent macho brother claims to say that I will never be a part of it when I'm actually more of the effeminate one when it is him who shouldn't be a part of it die to his masculinity. He went late last year with my teen siblings when parents took the without me since I was sick. He took photos of me recently where some people in public started laughing at me now |
Question: Why does my sister ignore me? Posted: 17 Nov 2015 08:53 AM PST Im nothing but nice to her, but when our mom died she was never the same, she lives with my dad and she calls me all the time but when i go visit she ignores me. |
Question: How can i get my parents to listen to me that i want to do different stuff? Posted: 17 Nov 2015 08:34 AM PST I always want to go to to anime convention but my parents won't let me go to one to have fun and seeing anime fans that is around to be friends with. My dad does the same thing he doesn't want to have fun because he so lazy and he's too jealous of his family and other people plus don't want to make friends and don't like his family to have fun and have more friends and my mother doesn't like it when I cosplay she always do a big sigh around and wants me to be like her which I don't want to be like her. When it comes to anime conventions that I want to go they refuse to take me there because they don't like anime and cosplays please help me to make them understand that I want to go to anime conventions and to drive a car plus make them listen to me since I'm paying their bills a lot of times and I don't want to stay at home forever missing all the fun out there. please no rude, nasty and hateful comments on my question and please don't correct my spelling. |

Question: What to do about sexual comments from daughter? Posted: 17 Nov 2015 07:48 AM PST I recently asked my 10 year old to please leave the bathroom so I could shower. She told me "just get naked in front of me" and that her new step-mom is naked all through the house all the time. Since she is in this mode where she bashes new step mom, I had her explain. She said her stepmom walks all through the house with her underwear on and sometimes no bra. I find this completely unacceptable. I also do not know if she is lying because she has found ways to manipulate my ex lately. My ex will not communicate anything that happens over at his house when he has her telling me "mind my own business". What can I do? |

Question: My family scares me and don't support me? Posted: 17 Nov 2015 06:36 AM PST I am a graduate(B.com hons) unemployed for over a year(almost 1.5 years) and the reason is simple: I wanted to do PGDIM, but my father refused saying that that course is no good. I wanted to finish PGDIM and enter the job world, but I couldn't, because my father didn't let me take up the said course. My father wanted me to go for UPSC exams or MBA from IIM or very reputed college. Sadly, I am poor at maths and doing that is nowhere near my mind. I am looking for job through mails and job sites. Everyday I study a bit what I studied in college. But my father and my sisters scares me by saying things like "what will you do?" or "It's almost over a year and you are doing nothing". What I mean is that they scare me and barely motivate me to do anything. Even when I tell them what my plan is, they still keep asking me "what is your plan?" Can anyone guide me here? |
Question: 20 year old. Is it wrong for me to stay at my parents? Am I a loser? Posted: 17 Nov 2015 05:59 AM PST A little bit on my background: I was raised in a typical hindu house (it is the norm for girls to leave their parents once married, but things have changed since...) I am the last one of three daughters. The eldest is 27 and has lived at my parents and will leave when she gets married in 6 months. The elder is abroad studying, tuition and board and living expenses are state funded..she got a scholarship. and then there is me. Had to repeat a year and graduated high school at 19. Went off to secure a seat at the local uni but drop out because I fell ill (personal) and then decided to change field completely. Now here I am, planning to work and pay my course (a degree) online. The thing is I still live at my folks. I do my own laundry and cook my own food. Their is no rent for my parents own their own place. They pay the bills. I could afford to rent a place on my own, but am saving for a masters and also to travel... Is it selfish of me? Saving money to travel instead of going out and rent a place... I kinda want to experience new things and this is only possible if I have shelter in my parents house. I also have the money for the place we rent to other people not much but it was my parents before and the room still belongs to my dad. They just gave it to me to help me out and I plan on saving it for stuff like travelling abroad on my own. I kinda feel weird about it. Am I just a pathetic spoiled brat leeching off my parents...? |
Posted: 17 Nov 2015 05:54 AM PST I'm 18 years old and female (going on 19)My parents are being extremely controlling with hardly any help from them. the only thing they do anymore is drive me HOME from work and on rare occasions drive me to work. I also SLEEP at their house, if I'm not sleeping I'm at work or at my boyfriend's house. Recently I have gotten in a very serious relationship. (marriage is now on the table) My parents don't like him at all only because they found out that I have an intimate relationship with him. Which they're over the top religious. I'm starting college soon because that's what they wanted me to do. I spend the majority of my time at my boyfriend's house (his parents gave him a house on their property) My parents set a curfew which my boyfriend has abided to taking me home by then because he DOESN'T want to split my family. Family is extremely important to him. However with All this going on my mom still thinks she can make all the decisions for me, inculding when and where I work! She's already told me she "allows" me to work at the job I work. My boyfriend has been driving me to work and my mom has been picking me up. My boyfriend said he wants to take me to New York City soon and that he wants to give my parents the option of letting me go just to keep my parents happy. They said no. How do I explain to them that I am a young adult and can make decisions for myself? I've tried reasoning it out but my parents jump to "because we're your parents and you live under our roof" |

Question: I HATE MY FAMILY ETC!? Posted: 17 Nov 2015 04:38 AM PST first off,I live in Middle East, and now is a bad time to be middle eastern, because everytime I say I'm from Kuwait I get bombing jokes etc. also,I never really liked Middle East anyways. My dad is Kuwaiti, and he tries to raise me the Arabic way,if that make sense. Like Arabic logic etc, which does not suit me at all. Second,I don't like my parents being together, because they argue about the stupidest ******* things ever. They cuss and today my dad tried to hit my mum. Third. I have half siblings. And I hate them so ******* much,no idea why. In Islam, when a ******* couple divorce the man is supposed to pay the woman whenever she wants,AND THIS ***** doesn't even have to pay the rent!! She lives with her parents!! (My half siblings mother) and yet she asks for money. We are literally broke becahee of her, while she goes out and travels,I have to sit here listening to my parents argue about my school money thing. I really want to move out to another country, before you say anything I don't bomb and I am against rape. But with a family like this I'm sure I have no future...sometimes I really wish my parents would put me up for adoption. |
Question: My mom kicked me out how can I apologize? Posted: 17 Nov 2015 04:21 AM PST I am 22 years old. My mom kicked me out of the house 6 days ago. She has blocked my number and ignored all my emails. I haven't emailed her in three days to try to give her space. She kicked me out because she hates hearing my medical stuff. I have multiple sclerosis and her dad had it and got very sick from it. In the past I used to lie and steal but I haven't since 18. My mom has kicked me out before but always lets me back the same day. She in Maryland I am in Ohio with my brother. What can I do to get her to forgive me? I told her last time I emailed her if she even read it. It's her house her rules and I'll listen to whatever she says. I did have a job but lost it when she kicked me out because I had to come to Ohio since I could find anywhere to stay in md I tried to stay in md. |
Question: I want to beat my brother up? Help!? Posted: 17 Nov 2015 04:09 AM PST So, here's how it happened. Ever since I have turned thirteen, my brother has been acting all rude and mean to me. He's younger than me by a year and a half, and we have always been nice to each other. For instance, the other day I wanted to have some relax time on the computer because I was busy all week trying to keep the house in order with my dad, while my mom was away on a trip. He started calling me immature and telling me that I should be letting my youngest brother on. I at first ignored him, but he kept calling me names and annoying me even more until finally I blew. I managed to land a few punches. But of course, he ran away to Dad to tattle and I got grounded for a few days from screens . Also, if I happen to get grounded, or it's my turn to do something, he just starts rubbing it in. Or, if I happen to be joking around with my other siblings, he'll stop and look at me and ask "why did you do that?" and if I shrug he starts sighing and tsking: "Oh, Hannah." It's so dang annoying! If I start throwing a huge fit, my mom thinks it's because I'm a teenager, and my dad just grounds me. Who is laughing and grinning in the background like an idiot? My brother of course. He thinks that just because I'm thirteen, I have to grow up all of a sudden. I seriously want to beat him up so bad. Also, please don't reply to ignore him. Don't you suppose I might have done that already? Also, if I try talking to Mom about it, she just tells me to not worry about it. |
Question: My dad pays 50p a year child support for me and my sister.? Posted: 17 Nov 2015 04:06 AM PST We're 17 and 16 and we are working and in full time education. Last year my dad moved out and we see him often. He and my mum split things equally like mortgage, bills and things but my mum pays for me and my sister (girl things) and my dad doesn't. (We pay for our own luxuries like clothes) My dad earns like 5 times more than my mum. It's been a year and nothing, maybe the odd £10. He does have a but to pay for the tax man but my mum credit cards as well and she pays for our family dog. My sister and I pay for our own travel to see our dad. My mum won't do anything cause she wants to keep the peace. What should I do? Is this fair? Should I do anything? |

Question: Why can t I feel any emotion? Posted: 17 Nov 2015 03:45 AM PST I can t feel anything. None whatsoever. My Mum and Step Dad are on a break (it took me almost two years to even like him a little bit) and when I walked into my Mums room this morning, I found another guy in there. I knew there was someone else. When my Mum was dropping me off at the bus stop, she kept asking me how I felt, and I realised, I don t feel anything. This has happened before when my parents kept asking me how I felt, and I couldn t feel anything. This happened at school to, I won t be able to tell how something makes me feel, because I can t. My Step Dad told me there was something wrong with me if I can t feel any emotion. |

Question: How can I make up with my mom after months of not speaking.? Posted: 17 Nov 2015 02:50 AM PST My mom and got into a big fight and I ended moving out and going to live with my dad. Question: Is 18 and 19 still a teenager? Posted: 17 Nov 2015 02:39 AM PST I think that's when you finish your teen years and become a young adult but I read somewhere that when your 20 or somewhere around that, you make responsible choices. But my family members and some people think when your 20 you're not a teenager. And my sister keeps saying in different countries it says when your not a teenager (stupid!) it's not a law or something. |
Question: How is a teen correcting you disrespectful? Posted: 17 Nov 2015 02:37 AM PST If an adult is telling someone perhaps another adult about something that involves you and says something that in not only incorrect but puts you in a negative light how is it disrespectful to say that's not true? I'm supposed to bite my tongue while you lie on me? I've heard patents tell their children that they aren't supposed to correct adults. How do you even respond to such diatribe ? |

Posted: 17 Nov 2015 01:23 AM PST -hitting my butt(still today), I asked my dad many, many times to stop doing that, but yet he says its a habit. He does it in public too. One time, on a trip to Vancouver, I went on a boat and wanted to stand up for a stretch. My dad sat across from me and used his foot to hit my butt. When I turned back to say stop it in a very frustrated tone, my dad just smiled and said that it wasn't him when it obviously was -calling me "woman"(used in this type of context for example, "What are you talking about woman?"<-- he says the woman part louder) -this only occurred once, he said "Nice a**" to me and even after I told my dad to not say that, he still repeated it one more time -he always wants a kiss (what most people would think on the cheek) from me and says that most daughters would give their fathers a kiss a lot (idk if this is unfair, but I hug my mom a lot more than my dad, I think it's because he's too...), and so I do reluctantly. But he always turns his face towards me and kisses me on the lips which really grosses me out. I know some people do that, but I'm just not one of those people. I've told him to stop a few times, but still it continues -sometimes, he kisses me on my neck unsuspectingly... and one time he told me to sit on his lap when I wanted to use the computer in my parents room. Of course I objected, but he insisted, so I just went with it. A little bit later, he started putting his lips on my shoulder and started kissing my there instead of my head My dad is inappropriate. Also for me to let some things out... How do I tell him to stop doing these things? I'm 13 btw, in 8th grade. |
