I have been with the same group of friends for six years. They're always friendly with me at school, but they seldom ask me to hang out with them on the weekends or they say that they are busy. Occasionally, I'll find out on Facebook or from others that a few of them hung out without me. Whenever there's a group outing, like a party or if there's four or more of us heading out, then I'm usually one of the first people called. However, they never want to hang out one-on-one. I find that whenever I'm about to stop talking to them, they start making one-on-one or groups-of-three plans with me again. When I start to think that everything's fine, they stop. I'm so sick of it. I want to say that they aren't true friends for doing this to me, but it's so odd. They go from buying me presents on a whim to walking right past me if I need a ride home. My friend group is full of shy and socially-awkward types, so maybe they just expect me to make the plans? They usually seem to enjoy themselves when I get one of them out, and my acquaintances at school always say (to my face and to others) that I'm a nice, funny person. Maybe they don't like that I've started getting much more social with others (I wouldn't spend a party in the basement with them one night). Also, my friend thought that I was trying to steal her boyfriend last year (he had a crush on me, but I didn't flirt with him), and maybe she bad-mouthed me to the others? What could the reason be and how do I escape this situation?

so, my birthday isn't until March which I know sounds dumb that I'm asking now. But, my family has been low on money for awhile and my mom and I both need the time to save the money for whatever we decide to do for my birthday party. I only have one friend really that goes to my school. I have a bunch of friends 2 hours away at my old school. My friend and I are 26... we've been friends since we were 18, pretty close and she's a good friend. The thing is, I've always had a lot of friends and have several girls that I consider my best friends while I consider her a good friend. Whereas, she struggles to make friends and I'm her only close friend, thereby making me her best friend. I value her friendship but she does annoy me a lot for various reason and I can tell that soon her bf will propose to her. I am assuming she'll ask me to be her Maid of Honor... I know that sounds nice under normal circumstances BUT my concern is that she is not easygoing and has extremely expensive taste (like designer brands, "go big or go home" kind of attitude). I know I'd have to spend an arm and a leg on this and I don't relate to her lifestyle. She doesn't know how to manage money and lives at her parent's home in the suburbs while I'm recently married, working my *** off working full time, pay NYC rent and attend grad school. For my other friends that I actually consider to be my BFFs, they're more easygoing without the expensive taste and high expectations so I feel I'd be able to do it for them. My college roommate is having her older sister (there s a 10 year age difference between them- this is a grown 29 year old woman) come visit from their home town 4 hours away over Thanksgiving, and I m going home for the break. My roommate said something to one of our friends today about how her sister was staying with her- not just visit, but actually stay in our room with her. Our room is a typical small college dorm room, but we don t have a futon- just our two beds. I think that my roommate is assuming that her sister will be sleeping in my bed because I ll be gone the entire time her sister is here. Is it wrong for me to not want someone else sleeping in my bed? How can I bring this up with my roommate without making it awkward- I don t want to be rude and make her sister sleep on a borrowed futon dragged into our room from our friends down the hall for a couple nights, but I don t want someone else in my bed.

Like this guy pisses me off and makes me mad more than he makes me happy. And I keep telling myself not to talk to him but every day I continue talking to him. I'm not a new kid, I've been in this district for my life pratically. It's just all my classes have NO people I know. This may be confusing, but I am not typically the most social person. During group projects and partnering, NOBODY chooses me. The teacher has to choose somebody for me and either 1. I have to work with her or 2. It's the laziest and least hardworking person in class and it is a guarantee, they will make me do all the work for them. Then come up with like the BEST excuses so they NEVER get in trouble. This person is like known for this stuff. There are some nice girls in class, but they are always busy. Me and my real friends/best friends are fading apart and I HATE it. My best friend and friends never take things like this seriously. I always have to bribe them with free ice cream or chips with my OWN money to have them hang out with me. So I'm a freshman in college. I live in a suite with 4 people, 2 in each room and a shared kitchen and bathroom. Last night I got pretty drunk and went out to hang out with friends. We went to a party but there wasn't any alcohol so we went back to my room. We're on the quarter system so it's finals rn but all of us were done. But my roommate had 2 finals today, the first one at 8 am, in the subjects that are hardest for her. So we came back, way too loud, a couple of my friends came in without knocking instead of waiting for me in the lounge like I asked them too, and my roommate is understandably pissed, especially because I forgot to text and warn her we were coming over. And I think I made her uncomfortable by making it with another girl in front of her. Then when I was really drunk a completely sober guy walked me back to my dorm and wouldn't leave and got in my bed wren I said I just wanted to sleep and kissed me and she came back while he was there (and I was pretty much asleep) and had to kick him out. And she barely got any sleep and I feel really really bad and want to make it up to her. I've apologized but I want to do more than that. It can't involve touching her stuff because she'll get mad about that and it can't require me to spend much money because I don't really have much money at all. I have about $30 in my bank account. I'm a 19 year old guy who changed majors, so i'm a year older than my fellow students. I have trouble finding friends.I got into a friends group of people who know each other from highschool. 2 of them are cool, but the others are very childish. One of them tried to exclude me with his social politics, didn't work for him. Half of my classgroup is immature and wants to fit in.I decided to ditch them, this week i met 2 guys from my group (50 students) and it really clicked, just because they're mature. One small problem is, when we go to a bigger classroom (of like 200 ppl), they rush to their highschool friends and don't introduce me to them. I found some interesting people on FB who are in my year who i never heard of, though they're not in my classgroup. Only chance of meeting them is ending up sitting next to them in the bigger classrooms (600 people). It's just completely random who you end up sitting next to. Most people just stick to their highschool friends and don't think it's okay to talk to others. I once got invited for a beer after class, the guys seemed really cool, but one guy kept talking over me really trying hard to fit in, never let me say anything. I left after my beer was empty. How do i make friends? I went to the freshman parties, i was the only freshman, because my fellow students don't dare going alone to a party and most of them commute home every day. I have a friend. She recently got into a huge fight with her only three best friends. She left the group alone and turned to me. I'm a 16 year old junior in high school. I've been grounded from driving the entire year and every time I ask to go anywhere or do anything, it's such a big production. I became friends with two girls about two months ago (I'm a guy) and we have hung out a few times and kinda started a friend group that consisted of my friend who's a guy, me, and these two girls. We hang out in person but most of our interaction is through the phone. We have a group chat and such and out of nowhere one of the girls left and didn't respond when I asked why she left it. She also deleted pictures with me from social media, comments, etc. The other girl and I snapchatted but she opened it and didn't respond, after messaging her twice just to see. I asked both of the girls if everything was okay, and if I did anything to make them annoyed with me. I said I was sorry if I did, and that I'm probably just overreacting. I got a response from one, who said no and that she's just sick of the group chat but I don't know if she's telling the truth. The other one didn't reply. I'm starting to get worried because they started become some of my good friends. I don't want anything to change and I don't want them to hate me. I partially think that I have social anxiety because I'm quiet in big crowds and I constantly worry about people's opinions of me. I'm just really scared that I lost my friends or are losing them. We were close friends from the moment we met each other. We got into fights like normal friends and I did a lot for him. At one point in time, I was at risk of losing my career because of him and I decided to bring him with me to do a business. We were successful but he did not help me much. I bought him a nice car, gave him an ownership in my business, helped him in his work and among other things was a good friend. I did a lot of messed up things and he blocked me and we no longer talk. I kicked him out of the apartment and took the keys from him for the businesses and I can understand why he would be upset but I did so much for him and he were always so close and one thing led to another and we argued so much because of his lack of help for me in the business that we ended up never speaking again. Trust me I did my best with him and sent letters, calls, texts, messages, and he didn't respond, I tried bringing him back to the company and he would ignore me. But he would only call me asking for money and things he needed from me such as new tires for his car. And this really upset me so I started cancelling payments I made with the company account for his things such as car, bills, etc to in a way get revenge and stop letting him use me. I only argued with him with this regarding the business but he wouldn't get it. It was tough for me to get it in his head to understand how I needed his help. Without him I'm more successful but I really miss him When things were good, we did everything together and were motivated but he got so distracted by women that it hurt not the business but our friendship because I was trying to pick up the business while he was taking it down but not caring about anything it seemed. Since I would always bring this up, he would think I was texting his girl horrible things that she started getting from anonymous numbers and blame me for that. Even after showing proof he refused to believe me and that caused probs I didn't like to fight with him but he kept insisting it was me and to stop and I couldn't keep arguing about this. I threatened him that if he did not stop that he would have to leave the company and go home. I gave him everything and I cant believe he would just ignore me like that I understand what I did was wrong for kicking him out and canceling his payments when he began to seem to use me for money but I cant believe that after everything I have done and sacrificed, he was to go and block me, ignore me, and just pretend like I never did anything for him. I don't understand how anyone could be so heartless and I never asked for ANYTHING in return. In fact I let him get more and more and did my best to make him happy to make sure we stayed friends but he didn't care ... Should I reach out to him and apologize for what I did and be an adult even though he doesn't want anything to do with me or just find a solution to let it go and move on even though its hard. I recently had my mom pass away and its only brought me back to his thought and our friendship. I only wanted what was best for him and I tried to make peace many times but he doesn't care anymore. I don't know why I feel bad but I do. After high school graduation I moved. I'm 22 now and just moved back in to town. I decided to message my old high school friends and the next day I met up with them. They never really grew up. They never seemed to grow out of that emo/skater phase. None of them have jobs, never even attempted going to college, and they all still live with their parents. Literally everyday all they do smoke weed, skateboard, and drink all day. And on top of that they hangout with high schoolers still. And some of them are dating 15 year old girls. I feel like a jerk because they were my friends but I don't wanna associate with people like that.

My friend's brother's girlfriend is having a baby shower and she, my friend, offered me an invitation. Saying it's a small get together, but it'll probably turn into a big party. For a while my height has really been bugging me. Ever since I was little I always wanted to be super small or super tall once I grew up. However that never happened and I'm stuck in the middle. Over the summer, I was in this group chat about the Sims, and everything was fine until we had to move to another chat, and then there was this girl (we ll call her A). A was being super rude towards me because she got mad about something and I told her to calm down. She was being rude, and I threatened to slap her. I feel like I have to hide/lie about hanging out with my other friends or family. When I mention hanging out with other people she looks sort of...grossed out? I won't post anything anywhere on social media when I hang out with someone else out of nerves that she'll ask why I was with them instead of with her. She's going to be 29 + kids and I'm 23, and I feel like I'm the logical one. I try to encourage her to make plans with other people, but she says she only wants to be with me. She's said things, like I'm "like air to her" and I'm her "knight/maiden in shining armor", she wants us to grow old together, and she's even mentioned hoping I don't get into the school that focuses highly on my major, because it's too far away. I know she means them as compliments but I just get so uncomfortable. A few people told me she's crazy, even my psycho father said there's something off about her, like something dangerous, and when she stares at me I can start to see what they mean. To be honest, I'm so ******* paranoid that she'll find this and kill me, but I need help!!

I'm a sophomore in highschool. When I moved to my current highschool freshman year, I didn't know anybody, however I made a few friends in that highschool. I kept closer friends outside of school- all who went to different schools as me. One friend in particular outside of my highschool is practically my best friend- she lives very close to me and we visit each other every weekend and sometimes during the week. I've met other friends through her as well, but she's basically the link to all of them, and if I loose her every other relationship I have will crumble. Besides that, back to my current highschool "friends", it seems like I've lost all of them. My very good highschool friend, who stuck with me all through freshman year, is growing more distant (she's gradually becoming popular. She has very good looks and is the best dressing kid in the school, so it's no surprise). She's hanging out with new groups I can't connect to, so I'm basically isolated. One of the reasons she's become aloof, as she's told me, is because of my personality. I'm pretty detached myself, and I'm careful how I act around new people. Unlike her, I don't open up to people instantly, and I'm not confident in my presentation. The only thing I had that she liked was my sense of humor, that was quite similar to hers, however her "friends" didn't see what she and I saw funny. It's kind of weird, really- her and I don't have the same taste in music, fashion, makeup- this made it harder and harder for me
