This friend suffers from social anxiety which is hard enough but I jsut wanted to know what you guys make of this. The other day she said to me when she was having an off day "You sure you want to be my friend, I can be awkward sometimes as a friend? I said to I want to be your friend, you make me smile and laugh and we do have stuff in common, I like hanging out with you we have a good time, why do you not want to be my friend? She then said I know I want to be your friend you make me laugh all the time. I just don't know if you want me to be your friend so I said of course I do I do like being around you, your cool. I put this down to her maybe feeling low and being insecure when feeling low and he r over thinking things. I do feel that all I need to do is keep reassuring her but I dunno if she is trying to be subtley polite and tell me to leave her alone? |

Afterward, they played music while the judges made their scored us. My friend and I (let's call her Liz) were just dancing and I think having a good time laughing and stuff. Then she asked if me and another girl on my team ( we'll call her Mary) if we wanted to see a movie together that night. She seemed pretty excited about it and everything. Mary was liz's ride so they left together & my dad picked me up. Liz was planning to stay at Mary's house for a while and I was gonna go there later & we'd all go to the movie together. This was all around 3:00. Then I texted Liz & asked her what the plan was and what we were gonna see. It sent as a text message. And she never responded. Then I texted Liz & Mary in a group chat and only Mary responded. She just told me she would call me in a bit and tell me the plan. An hour later, I asked again and she still said she didn't know and she would tell me later. Another hour later i first called Liz and after 2 rings it went to voicemail. Then I called Mary and she picked up and I asked her what was going on with the movie because my dad was asking, and I heard her talking to Liz and her mom for I minute, and she said she'd have to call me back, ANOTHER hour later mary finally texts me and says that they can't go anymore! What's going on with them? Especially Liz! She's one of my best friends 😞 |

We used to go to each other's house every day and weekend but whenever I ask her if I can come over she says she's either busy or just says I have to go somewhere. I know she's lying but idk what to do. We have the same classes with other friends too and she ignores me. We hardly even talk during class. We used to carpool every single day but lately she's been going to school with the girl I told you about before. I have work 15h per day, be a proffesional chef (only restaurant quality food is accepted), proffesional cleaner cleaning after them non-stop, personal assistant (expected to know where they've left their stuff when they lose something. then get mad at me for not knowing that they left their jacket/sandwich at school/work). On top of that I have to know how to be a professional childcare specialist. To be fair, I don't have much time to communicate with them, because I have to scrub the floors non-stop and all the other chores ecxpected to be done as good as possible. They control my weekends, I am not allowed to sleep in on the weekends, and they don't like me leaving the house. if I do, I have to be back home as soon as possible. I want to leave as soon as possible, my friends have offered to leave with them until I find another job.... I was planning to either pack my bags and leave a note that I'm not coming back, or to fight with them and get them to say "you should leave" and then go? I can't give them notice, because unless it's 3-6 months notice, they won't accept that. |

Some mutual friends say of course she loves you and she's asked about you in (senior year of hs), tried to contact her these past few months but she never replies... Maybe it's cuz we're in different colleges and she's probably very busy and maybe she was busy last year too but she's got time for FB and face timing or texting other friends and I feel like absolute garbage. Due to the nature of our talks, we meet alone and don't share with others what we talk about. I met one of his close female friends and she was really nervous around me. I thought she was just shy, but then on another occasion she glared at me with this, "Don't you get it? He's mine!" look. After a year, I saw her at my friend's party. When I made eye contact, she looked away and then she looked angrily at him. Only when I walked directly up to her to say hi did she act friendly. The rest of the night as they danced in a circle, she and her female friend kept standing in front of me, blocking me from getting into the circle. I'm not really sure if it was intentional or if it was just too crowded, but I touched her shoulders to make her aware that I was there and uncomfortable, but she still didn't move to let me in. When we left the club and I and my guy friend were walking ahead of the rest, she ran from behind to make sure she was up front with him. So this was all a bit peculiar. However, she then said we should all hang out some time and she sent me a Facebook friend request. I'm not sure if I should get close to her and her circle of friends or even let her be my FB friend. Maybe I'm being paranoid, but I don't want her to Facebook stalk me. I'm not really sure what she has in mind. What's going on? |

Once a little over a week ago she literally couldn't take her eyes off of me according to my friend. She never tries to talk to me. She doesn't smile or say hi or anything. One time she followed me back from the library she was literally right behind e but hasn't done that since. The last 2 classes I catch her looking once or maybe a few times during class. My friend says if she really liked me she would smile or try to talk to you which she hasn't. I don't know what to do or believe. Sometimes I get the feeling that she is looking at me but when I look up she isnt unless she cant hide it well. Help me! The only time we talked was for a class game and it was awkward that was like 4 weeks ago though. My friend says shes a ***** and has attitude . However, I left them for a good while (say, 3-4 months) to go and do my own things, and I just recently joined. But they seemed like they didnt even care that I left. Also, they are being pretty rude to me, always leaving me out of things, and donating troops to everyone else but me. This has been going on for a while, and Im tired of it. I can see that this all could just be in good fun, but I have depression, and they KNOW that, so its almost like their just being rude to me for fun :T . Telling them to stop isn't a option, because Im pretty sure they know what their doing. I've never been rude to them, I've always donated what was asked, and complemented them. Im really damn tired (Sorry for the language) of being walked over and having people use me to their advantage, and Im reaching my breaking point. Should I just leave them and let them enjoy their selves? We've been good... "friends"... for a while now, and it seems hard to let them go. Still, whats the point of keeping them around when they are just going to belittle you and push you farther down the rabbit hole? TL;DR 'friends' are being mean to me, should they still be my friend? We all met when our kids were in the same program for a little while together. We had mom's night outs, a zillion playdates, and they even came last 2 Thanksgiving dinners. She has had some personal issues and I have been a good friend and since my Dad passed she just started blowing us off. My kids are bummed out and don't understand. I get it if she doesn't want to be friends but she invited us to her son's birthday a couple of weeks ago when she didn't have to and we wouldn't have known and two weeks ago she suggested just me and her go out. Feel bummed out and bad for my kids. I don't want the friendship if it doesn't include the kids. Any Thoughts? |

The three of my friends have boys that they all talk to and they created this big group chat with the three girls and three boys . I was added to the chat by my friend just because I wanted to be nosy and see what they were talking about . The conversations were harmless and immature taking in the fact that were are ranged from ages 14-16 . One of the boys labeled the chat "Get yourself a track girl " because we all run track together . One thing led to another and my dad found out about that chat and he was mad . He called all of us in his room and my parents were yelling at me . They said that they do not have no sluts in their house and that I can be quickly of social media . My friends are not allowed to have boyfriends and I was scared to tell my parents that it was them talking to the boys and not me because I know that they could get in trouble . My parents did not even want to hear my side of the story .I kept telling me that I was not talking to any boys. They even said the title of the chat was misleading . They said that it sounded like " we have some track girls in this chat so we are going to add more boys in here so they can try to talk to one of them " it was not even like that . I even talked to them one on one and they still seemed to put me in the same category as my other friends . I have three main friends and one of is steph and the other two are Eliza and Kayla. Steph never really liked Eliza and she Steph would get jealous when I would hang out with Eliza and sometimes when I was with Kayla. Steph would ignore, exclude and lie to Eliza. Eliza then decided to not be her friend anymore and confronted her on all the things Steph has done to her. A guy who is older than me by one year but he's always changing friends so he will ditch me next year when my 12th grader friend leaves. The difference between me and my girl best friend is huge. I'm 14 and she's almost 18 so she's concerned about college. In my opinion I have nothing to lose. But I know that changing schools will be hard because I have serious exams next year and I'm afraid what I'm learning might not be the same things learned there. The reason I don't have have any friends besides those I have now is because people are really judgmental. 3 people turned the entire school at me. Everyday I'm faced with facing horrible people who dislike me because I'm foreign and because I'm not like them. Is it wrong trying to live my life right? I've never disobeyed the rules and always stuck to my own ambitions. I'm really friendly and I want to be helpful to everyone.. but nobody ever helps me or talks to me..nobody treats me the way I treat them... What should I do because I have nothing to lose? We found a pair of handcuffs in her bro's room and locked ourselves in them. Only problem is the key is apparently with him and he's out of town with her parents until tomorrow afternoon. My parents are likewise unavailable. Neither of us wants to waste money on a locksmith. Rather than let this ruin the day, we're determined to carry on and have fun until her brother returns and frees us. Not sure how we'll handle the bathroom and sleeping situations, but I'm sure we'll think of something. lol! What we're looking for is some suggestions on what to do until tomorrow. We were thinking of going to the movies or maybe going bowling. That last one would definitely be a challenge. Anyone have any better ideas? |

Often times, I feel like people only get irritated and aggravated with me after I'm around for so long. | Question: Am I Uncomfortable with Hugs? What's Up with That..? Posted: 14 Nov 2015 11:25 AM PST I don't quite understand it; it seems like I don't want to hug anyone, but here's what happens: my best friend is a hugger + usually hugs her other friends (who hug her back) + she tends to hug me a lot (like if I do something silly or to thank me). she asks me why I don't hug her/if I don't like it + if I don't that she can stop, but I don't reply. I actually don't know what to say.. with most of my family, like over the holidays/b-days, they hug to greet/farewell/thank. they do that with me, I try to be polite + hug them back, but idk how to say, it feels like it's not something I want to do. idk maybe I do but it doesn't feel like it? but it also feels like I'm forced by like politeness to do so. I don't intend to be rude if ever, so I try at times to be polite, even if it's something I'm uncomfortable with I guess.. of course, my best friend Q's me why I'd hug my family but not her. I don't understand it myself so idk what to tell her other than that I'm just being polite with them cuz they're nice ppl. my best friend + I have a dif relationship than I have with my family, so I don't always feel like hugging her (sometimes on our bdays just to be nice, but again it seems forced). if it's a bf, I would willingly hug him cuz I know I'd enjoy the touch with someone with a relationship like that; it'd be someone I'd want to feel close to. what's my status on hugs? I know for me that it depends on the relationship but why do I not naturally hug friends or some family? |

For example, just this morning i was asking if one of my best friends could come over, and they said, "shes probably really stupid cause shes your friend." First of all, you have never met her! Posted: 14 Nov 2015 11:02 AM PST so this friend from middle school wasn't allowed to go to the same school as me for high school. her mother wanted her to go to a Christian school. I am not allowed to leave the house and neither is she (because both of our parents have raised us this way) so we cant exactly meet each other up and hang out. when we went to the same school I was completely different I was colorful and listened to music like Bruno Mars,Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith. But there have been problems bad in my family for many years and in this summer and last few months of last school year I have finally snapped into a really deep depression and weird emo path. long story short I got snake bites, nose piercings, cut my hair and died it black and started listening to bands like Black Veil Brides,My Chemical Romance, Pierce the Veil, Bring Me the Horizon (older stuff) Sleeping With Sirens,Tool, Slipknot, Guns & Roses and ACDC also. I cut my self for about a year but so far I am 7 months clean (thanks to Onision). This whole time we have not been with friends I have had no friends because everyone has bullied me (another story). Now when I try to talk to her or she sees me in public she doesn't exactly seem to happy about all of my changes because all I were now is black and skinny jeans, band shirts and converse. And when I email her it takes her weeks to respond, and it is usually one worded. I don't know how to reach out to her to ask her why, and it's hard for her to make friends to. idk what to do My sister took me to get them as a birthday present. |

We have a small group of friends and I noticed that she did little catty things like say something to one person and say something completely different to another. She avoids speaking to us all at the same time. Also, one time she was having a very private (yet a tad heated) conversation with another friend, she secretly put her on loudspeaker so we could hear and passed around the text messages going back 2 years. I found this immature given the conversation was only about minor grievances (a joke said a few years ago) and we are in our 50's. Alarm bells rang when she told a lie about a deceased person in which she claimed that the deceased told her that someone had spoken ill about her. She said this in an attempt to start trouble (Chinese whispers) and find out information. Her daughter later confessed it was a lie. Yesterday, she lied to her son in front of me. Her son wanted to take her out to dinner, my friend didn't want to go because her son had not invited the his sister/her daughter also. She told her son that she was dangerously ill and would be unavailable for the next month, she then invited me to go to a bar. I declined as I thought it was distasteful to lie about an illness. Coming to think of it she has used the sick excuse a lot with me when I invite her to places. She only comes if its under her terms. I don't think she is a bad person . But something isn't quite right. How do deal with her. |
| Question: It's the middle of November and my roommate doesn't want to turn on the heat? Posted: 14 Nov 2015 10:13 AM PST It's 51 degrees outside but for some reason my apartment is freezing. The cold actually hurts my hands. I have to wear sweatpants, socks, and a big hoodie and when I go to bed I cannot move or else I'll loose the warmth. Am I overreacting? I know the temperature technically hasn't reached freezing but I'm very uncomfortable. Do you think I should buy a space heater? |

She's usually talkative but lately I feel as if we been drifting apart because I could be sitting right next to her and she would be quiet and than she would randomly call her mom. I get reallllyyy annoyed because she wants me to sit by her and walk with her at school but she's always talking to her mom on the phone so I just didn't talk to her for the last couple of days...she says im being shady by getting mad over it? And also There's this stare people do when they look at me like they raise their eyebrows like they're amazed and stare like they're hypnotized? She is a good friend and sweet person but I've noticed that she hangs out with my brother more than me. My bro is 12. They ride bikes together, play together, drink after each other and sometimes she wears his jacket. She gets psychotically defensive over him if anyone says anything remotely negative about him. One time when my uncle was going to spank him for putting laxatives in my cousin's food, she guarded him and screamed "YOU WILL NOT HIT HIM!" at my uncle. My family comments on how cute it is but I think it's a little strange, or am I just crazy? |

On the first day going to lunch I hoped that I would have someone in my lunch. I ended up awkwardly sitting there. So I got up and walked around alone. I did this for a few days. People started staring and I felt weird sitting in the bathroom. I went to the nurse, but they eat lunch at that time and kicked me out. So I sat in guidance on the computers doing homeowork. I did this all throughout term 1. Recently they started locking the door, but when I m in there 3 other girls are on the computers, so I knocked and they let me in. This is time the consuler wouldn t let me in and said closing up for lunch. So I was forced to walk around. I can t do that again. I would go to the library, but I think its closed during my lunch. What do I do? I can t go back to lunch and sit alone. I have zero friends and I m panicking any advice? |
