Question: My boyfriend got aggressive with me ? Posted: 30 Mar 2020 12:33 AM PDT His brothers household and our household went a straight 10 days (us 13) of quarantine and we decided to get together in the comfort of their home and celebrate not catching corona (yet)! We got quite drunk. My boyfriend gets a little defensive when he drinks hard liquor. I notice norco cues and know instantly when he's going to be an angry drunk that day and today was the day. His brother tried messing him and my boyfriend started getting really defensive and in his face... luckily I was sober so I started throwing around the "okaaaay I think we should start heading out" his family caught the social cue and helped me take him to the car. I drove and he started picking on me and all of my insecurities and started mentioning everything wrong with me and when I told him to stop he started choking me while I was driving. I tried stopping mid car ride home at a jack in the box because I was scared. I tried ordering him some food and a water and as soon as I parked (hoping he'd eat and sober up) he twisted and slammed My wrist. We got back home and he pulled out my past and telling me things like how I deserved to get raped when I was a kid and everything else in the book. I got upset and tried going for a walk. He ended up shoving me to the street floor and told me to get back inside or else.. so me crying and hurt now I'm inside and on the couch "sleeping".. This has NEVER happened before and I'm terrified. What do I do now. He does tend to get aggressive but it's never happened to me. We've been together for 5 years and today he's hurt me so bad. My wrist hurts to rotate.. my head is pounding, my arm and hands are scratched up and a little bloody... my face looks swollen. I'm wrecked. He's usually so gentle with me and I ..don't know how to process today. I'm hurt and I'm in shock |
Question: My boyfriend isn't taking the corona virus seriously, what does that tell me about him? ? Posted: 29 Mar 2020 11:08 PM PDT Like the title says, my boyfriend isn't taking this whole pandemic thing seriously at all. He still goes to the store every couple days, orders food, takes uber, etc. like nothing is even going on. He tells me that staying home won't help stop the virus.. Now, typically I'm not overly worried about things like this either, but his lack of understanding or urgency is making me worry. I've never had anyone I care about so much and I don't want to lose him all because he seems to think that he won't get sick. He tells me that "it means so much" that I'm worried about him, but not enough that he won't just stay home. He's not only endangering himself, but anybody around him, and he just doesn't seem to care. He's being really stupid and careless about this whole situation, in my opinion, and I don't know what to do about it. Nothing I say or do gets him to budge on his opinion. I always get "there's like a 1% chance of me dying even if I do get it, it'll be fine." Okay, but what about anyone that he comes into contact with in that duration? Am I overthinking this? Or is his lack caring about staying home a red flag entirely? For extra context, we're currently in a long distance relationship, as he had to move for work and I needed to take care of my parents this past winter when my dad broke his ankle. Both of our states are under quarantine, and I've only gone out once since, to grab the necessities so I don't need to go out again.. Thoughts? |
