Posted: 24 Mar 2020 02:22 PM PDT She is 9, I'm 14. And she is really annoying, but I'll not get into that. Anyways, it makes me not want to play with her, and she always wants to play. She likes Roblox and digital games, but if I'm going to play a game, I want it to be a board game because Roblox 24/7 isn't appealing. She annoys me all day until I cave in even though I always ask her to play something else. If I refuse I get in trouble with my mom for not cooperating. |

Posted: 24 Mar 2020 01:57 PM PDT I have one at a park with about 40 people scheduled for last Sunday in June. It's more of a party than a full-size family reunion and I'm sure it will be a smaller turn out but I would be devastated to have to not do anything this summer. Meeting people online would not be an option with this group. |
Question: Why were my parents so tired that they had to crash at a hotel? Posted: 24 Mar 2020 01:00 PM PDT My parents are 34 and 35. Last night they went on a date but told me that they would br back for the night. Well they didn't come back but when they came back the next day they told me that it wss because they were so tired that they just wanted to sleep immediatly so they got a hotel room. |

Question: Stuck at home with 2 bratty kids and a mom who won't parent? Posted: 24 Mar 2020 12:23 PM PDT I'm the older sister here (15), and while being stuck at home, I have to deal with 2 brothers,4 and 12 yrs old. The 12 yr old has ADHD, but we're under self-quarantine and can't get his medicine, so he's been running around and screaming like crazy. Both of them break out crying and screaming for hours on end if they have to do work or don't get what they want. They're yelling and wasting food, but my mom does nothing. They know no boundaries of personal space and I can't get my work done! I could deal with this if I had school or wasn't under quarantine, but we're all home 24/7. They can't keep quiet or stay in one place, we don't have that much outdoor space to play in and they only do stuff on their phone/tablet. Any help? My brother has 2 different ADHD medicines he's on, both we have to order special shipments for and it's already been denied. My mom doesn't even give it to him anyway. Whenever I try to instill rules or boundaries, I get fussed at by my mom, but she lets them run wildly and does nothing. |
Question: Why does my stepmom sometimes tell me to go to sleep early? Posted: 24 Mar 2020 11:56 AM PDT [28F] She sometimes tells [14M] me to go to bed early and it's so weird. Last time was on Saturday and it sucked. I of course did as she said but it is annoying to randomly go to bed at 9pm and especially on weekends. Why does she do this? |
Question: Will anything happen? Posted: 24 Mar 2020 11:55 AM PDT My 18th birthday is tomorrow and I want to celebrate it with my best friend and boyfriend, but I live in California which is technically on lockdown. This is the birthday I've been waiting for and I do not want to spend it with my toxic parents who have been constantly yelling at me the past week for literally being in my room and not doing school work when we literally don't have any until April 6th, but they won't listen. I just want a free day to breathe and spend time with some of my favorite people. I was told that people are still going out so the lockdown isn't that serious and I wouldn't be outside I would just be going to spend the night at my friends house. My parents are taking this extremely seriously and I know I would get yelled at walking out to go somewhere else especially being picked up by my boyfriend. Is there anything they could really do since I will be 18? (sorry this probably makes no sense, but I tried) |
Question: I either end up my life or go to live with him? Posted: 24 Mar 2020 11:13 AM PDT I have been mistreated since childhood at school, I have never had a normal childhood and my parents never helped me or defended me when teachers and kids bullied me. I remember coming home with blood in my nose one day and my mom didn't bother at all, she at most got mad at me for being hit. When my grandma broke her leg, my mom cried and was sobbing like a child and what she didn't do that time to help her. I'm just so tired with my life, so tired I want to end it. My mom keeps telling me bad things everu day, gets mad at me for no reason (I stay the whole day in my bedroom as not to see her) and screams. I stopped having a normal relationship with het years ago, when I was self harming and she couldn t care less. But fot grandma, she cries and helps etc... so once this is al over, I'll go to live with him. He has a one bedroom room and I am sure when I'll explain to him what's going on he will take care of me. I can't live anymore like this |
Question: Can you tell me this pls? ? Posted: 24 Mar 2020 11:06 AM PDT I am a 24 yro girl and i have 3 brothers one of which is younger than me. My father has always been physically abusive towards my mother and my brothers but never towards me. I understand that maybe its because he loves me but my brothers have stopped talking to him except just one elder brother who seems to be not affected by how my dad has affected my mom and my other brothers. One thing that i have always noticed is that my dad always treats me like a little girl like a 10 yro and never can understand that i am a grown up girl. It really confuses me, why can't he treat me like an adult, he has given me nick names and all too. |
Question: Is she obsessed with him? Posted: 24 Mar 2020 10:56 AM PDT My baby is due in May and since I've been pregnant my baby's father had cheated on me with his other baby's mom (probably with other women as well). And ever since then she's been sending screenshots of them saying they love each other and calling me stupid for being around him and letting him **** other women. He also hasn't been around their son in a whole month because of her! One minute she hates him and the next minute she's talking about she want him around. Is she obsessed with him? |

Question: Should I tell my mom this? Posted: 24 Mar 2020 07:28 AM PDT I am a high school guy with a 38 year old single mom. She is the best mom ever. I just adore her. She often goes with me to school events. Each time she does that, some guys afterward tell me how lucky I am to have a beautiful, hot, and sexy mom. I always tell them my mom is NOT hot and sexy. Even some of the girls tell me the same thing. Girls also tell me I am in big trouble if I expect my dates to be as beautiful as my mom. Several guys and girls always ask me if my mom was/is a model. Should I tell my mom what they are saying about her. Would she take it as a compliment that guys my age think she is beautiful, hot and sexy? Would I get in trouble for telling her about the hot and sexy part? Mothers, and others, please tell me what you think. THANKS. |
Question: How to cheer her up? Posted: 24 Mar 2020 07:08 AM PDT So my parents were sleeping and my sis and I were watching tv,after about 15 min I went to take a bath, then it was my sister's turn but she refused to take her bath,so i decided to humiliate her.I told her that she smell like garbage and that she's acting like a baby, she got mad and she slapped me in the face,I was mad too but I didn't say or do anything,I just went to my room..about 25-30 min,she was done with her bath.My parents wake up and I told them what happened, they were furious. They told her to KNEEL and to apologise to me,I could see that she was embarrassed but she had to do it,she started to cry and she went to her room..i felt bad for her She's 15 I'm her brother,I'm 26 |

Question: My mother claimed that I am her biggest regret. Should I be offended? ? Posted: 24 Mar 2020 05:12 AM PDT Everyone tells me I am overreacting, but I was really hurt by this. We have this community channel started by my school and we interview people in different professions all the time. My mother works in costume design, so some of the students thought it would be interesting to interview her. They asked her questions about how she got started, what she likes, and then they asked her her biggest regret. She said me. All the students laughed and then broadcast the tape unedited. I am humiliated. Yeah, maybe I don't always make life easy for my mother, but I'm now her biggest regret. This hurts. What should I do? Everyone at school is laughing at me. |
Posted: 24 Mar 2020 04:57 AM PDT I wasn't abusive nor mistreated them. They did it because they could. It's their money so they're giving it all away to charity. So, I've made the decision to erase/burn every photo, every album, and all traces of their identity to wipe all traces of their memory out of my life. What's good for the goose is good for the gander. Why should I keep them in my memories and pass them down to my children? They don't deserve it. They deserve to be forgotten. |

Question: What did my dad mean by this when he coughed at what I said? Posted: 24 Mar 2020 12:11 AM PDT First off, I am a manly man because he forced me to being like this. Anyway my dad coughed at my statement when I said the virus scared me. The truth about me is that I like to use intensive facial moisturizers, getting nice haircuts, wearing expensive clothing and eyeglasses, going to a university and learning in my free time. I also like My Little Pony. |

Posted: 23 Mar 2020 08:51 PM PDT My brother is engaged to a girl who is rather rough around the edges, she has a chip on her shoulder and gets offended easily. She is 21 and I am 23, I'm a female. She calls me sweetie and honey all the time in a condescending way and is always trying to sound better than me and smarter than me, I think this is out of immaturity. My question is how can I get her to stop, and indirectly "assert my dominance" so that she won't feel like she can talk down to me anymore? I do not want to cause any resentment between me and her or my brother, but I need her to stop being disrespectful to me. Also, she is a hothead and can get mad easily. I feel that if I try to talk to her about it she will get very mad and my brother will be upset with me. |
Posted: 23 Mar 2020 04:58 PM PDT It is the highlight of my year, it is like canceling Christmas or a birthday for a little kid. I will decide in May whether it is safe to have or not. I anticipate it will be cancelled. How do I get over my devastation? It means so much to me and a year is so long to wait. Don't say other people are suffering worse please, I need to deal with my suffering. |
Question: Do I have to stop going with my mum? ? Posted: 23 Mar 2020 04:45 PM PDT Is it OK to go home? I am disabled, mum comes every day to do some caring for me, drives me home with her and then drives me back to my apartment for dinner and sleep. Her, our partners and myself are otherwise indoors and away from others. We are effectively in quarantine, except for the fact that our "household" is split between my apartment and her house. Do I need to stop going back with her? Does she need to stop coming? I take off my shoes and wash my hands when I get in, so even if somehow the coronavirus got on my shoes from walking up the path I would still be safe... I don't think my mental health would cope without seeing her... Any advice? |
Posted: 23 Mar 2020 04:01 PM PDT My Dad has never been worried before. On 9/11 while he acknowledged what had happen was terrible he took me down the day after to check out the fires at the Pentagon (we lived an hour away in Front Royal, VA and had someone to go see in Alexandria, VA nearby). Also, when Swine Flu Pandemic struck he was making jokes about it even when I reported my mother had been diagnosed with it (they are divorced). Y2K my Dad said he would feel safe flying if he needed to and he and I went to Washington, DC to see the fireworks (my mother freaked out when she learned thinking we could have been killed by a bomb as there was some threat of that at the time). So long story short my Dad never worries. Here he is anxious, he says the danger is very real. We are both staying away from crowds (I live 5 minutes away from him as he has moved back to Alexandria). My mother I don't see often but I suspect she is freaking out and preparing for the end of the world. Her texts have seemed mellow but she is likely just trying to keep me calm. I know her husband's mother is 91 so she likely is petrified of getting her ill. Y2K, Swine Flu, Bird Flu, all those things put my mother in hysteria. She was terrified for me to go anywhere in school due to Columbine and my school was all naive learning disabled high schoolers (I lived with my Dad). So long story short is he correct that this is a plague we all must fear and that we are witnessing horror like the Spanish Flu which killed his great-grandfather? |
Question: How do I deal with emotionally abusive people during quarantine? Posted: 23 Mar 2020 03:58 PM PDT It's like walking on eggshells. Don't even want to show my face. Or eat. All I want to do is drink vodka. And what if it's more than one person just teaming up against me? I'm not allowed to stand up for myself. Just expected to sit and watch while they kick me when I'm down. Should I just say f it and live in my car? |
Question: Is my 11 year old too old to play with 9 year olds? Posted: 23 Mar 2020 03:56 PM PDT My family lives next door to 9 year old twin girls. They always invited my 11 year old over to sleepovers and craft-making activities (before the coronavirus outbreak). Today my daughter asked me if she's allowed to FaceTime these girls. I will definitely call and ask their parents if it's ok before letting her. As my daughter approaches middle school, she'll be in a different environment from these twins. I'm worried that 2 years is too big of an age gap for them to be friends. As a rule of thumb, kids generally aren't interested in people who are more than 1 year younger or older than they are. My daughter will start puberty years before these girls do. It doesn't sound like a big age gap but at this age, 2 years could be more like 2 decades. |
Question: What’s a good state for single moms, a state that doesn’t get winters? Posted: 23 Mar 2020 03:35 PM PDT I'm wanting to move, I'm 31 I'm currently a cna I have one child. Eventually I want to go back to school for nursing. I have no family and friends here (Minnesota). I just want a fresh start. Want to live somewhere warm, cheap/reasonable rent, decent pay, and good schools. Been in Minnesota for eleven years, should I stay or go? I'm not worried about being alone in another state. Idk what to do |
Question: How can I get my dads girlfriend to leave? Posted: 23 Mar 2020 03:20 PM PDT So I'm 14 and honestly things have changed a lot since my mom left, she left when I was 6 and shortly after she took me and my sister away from my dad without Consent. My parents got divorced and my dad has all child support of me. I have a sister but she is stuck with me mom she is about 19. I haven't seen my mom or sister in 6 years but I don't want to. When I came back my dad already had a girlfriend and I just had to "warm up to her" and I didn't even know her. From that moment on my dad has changed. He went from one girl to the next then married my ex step mom about 4 years ago and they got divorced because she cheated on him. Then my dad said that he would never date another girl and that it would only be me, him and my dog. Nope, he kept going and broke his promise. Most of the girlfriend he has had aren't that bad but this one I can't live with her. So my dad used to be so happy and put me first but he doesn't anymore. My dads girlfriend has two kids (3 and 8) but they both are boys and both are absolutely mean to me and my dad. My dads girlfriend acts so nice around my family but she isn't on the inside she want me gone and has threatened to send me to juvenile school and I haven't ever done anything to her that was wrong. Honestly she is just jealous of me I have a really nice boyfriend and he likes my family and my dad and my dad likes him but my dads girlfriend forbids me to be with him. So anyway she treats everyone like crap in my family and only cares about her |
