I have 3 step daughters. The youngest is 24. She moved to Colorado 13 months ago and since then she has slowly changed. Before she left, we were on excellent terms. She hugged me and cried and we said we love you to one another. Then she called me sometimes and sent me a mother's day card and she always called me mama. Then she moved to Florida and then back to Colorado and for the last 8 months or so she has been real quiet and has shut me out. I asked her if I had done anything to offend her. She said no. I'm really busy. Anyway she is coming to stay with her sister in a few months. Should I just act like nothing is wrong or be cordial?

my mom wakes up at 5 in the morning and gets back home around 6:30 pm she comes home and washes the dishes and cooks then gets on her phone and goes on facebook she goes to bed at 12 am just to get only 5 hours of sleep. she sacrificed her entire life taking care of me and my brother. my brother is really lazy due to his OCD but my mom doesnt get sleep on her work days because my brother stays up all night yelling because of his turrets and that keeps my mom up. i dont want my mom to fall ill because of not enough sleep. shes 52 and I want her to be able to do what she wants when she comes home other than clean and cook then go to bed then go to work without breakfast. What should I do? i want her to be stress free she has been taken for granted for a loong time

We don't have a home office. My parents both work form home sometimes and are required to have meetings, both audio and video. They both always come in my room for hours on end for their meetings because it's the only clean place in the house and also has a desk (I have a brother too), which is true. They do have a desk in their room but it's just covered in junk like everything else. I ask them when they're going to clean up and the answer is always "soon." It's getting really annoying because I sometimes forget items in my own room that I can't get when I need because it's occupied and I don't want to interrupt. I understand they pay the bills and I should just let them use it but it's getting very annoying.

(I couldn't finish my question up top) my mom or dad will say the same exact thing word for word and my sister won't get mad at all. For example I'll say "can you empty the dishwasher mom said it's your turn today" she will start screaming at me and tell me I'm acting like our mom but then my mom will say the same thing word for word and my sister will respond or do it with out any hesitation. It makes me beyond pissed it's starting to ruin my relationship with my sister while all I'm doing is asking a simple question or telling her and her not listening to me. I wish she'd listen to her big sister. Any help I'm desperate?

When I was young my mum used to take me with my grandma to go shop with her. I have grown a hate for them. Her ad my grandma always bought a bunch of clothes and I barely got anything. And one day my mum found my diary and she started hitting me cause what I just wrote I wrote it in my journal and she found it. I am in a trauma still. Whenever I see people get gifts I always expect. And one time my ex boyfriends mum got presents for everyone and I did not get a single present. How can I move from this trauma? Up until this day I have torn clothes and shoes. The thing is I have always had a love for fashion and would like to pursue it one day I dont mind it because I have anxiety and I am unable to keep a job but I am still content with my life even though I have torn shoes and clothes By the way with all the money I bought clothes and shoes but I am running out of them

Last month I broke up with my fiancé, so I've had to move back home with my parents until I find a new place. I thought it would be a nice gesture to cook dinner for my parents every night since they're letting me stay there - I was so wrong! My mum is so fussy - she will like something one day and hate it the next. I ask her what she wants 1 hour before I cook, she tells me, I cook, she won't eat it. If I stop cooking, she begs me to do it and says she loves my cooking but 8 out of 10 times she won't eat it!! I know this sounds awful but... she's turned into a brat! My 3 year old niece acts like this.. what should I do? Should I stop cooking even if she begs? I don't want it to seem like I'm acting like the parent but does this need tough love?    I have tried talking to her nicely about this, I've told her I'll cook anything she wants if she can just google some recipes - she's never done it and I've asked her at least 15 times  She doesn't know what she wants to eat, that's the thing. It's not necessarily about my cooking, she actually won't eat if she doesn't feel like pasta or casserole, even though she asked for it an hour prior

Bf and I agreed on his mother moving in with us when i got pregnant because she would take care of our baby while we worked. I was hesitant but I gave it a chance. Baby is now almost 1 n It has been an absolute nightmare.  She constantly throws jabs at me whenever she has a chance and is all in our business.  She always wants to have my boyfriends nephew in the apartment as well which to me is very annoying because I already have his mother there why must i have his nephew every single day as well. His parents just want to leave the kid with whichever grandparent is available to watch him. I dont mind sometimes but my bf does not have a child so I never in a million years thought id be dealing with someone elses child everyday in my apartment as well. Its too much.  Recently his mother and i were having a discussion and she got upset and put her finger in my face while yelling at me - I did nothing to provoke her She thinks because she is my boyfriends mom i always have to obey her and do whatever she says. I've decided I am going to leave the situation and we are going to co-parent the baby. it is sad because my boyfriend and i really dont have any disagreements. Our issues are solely because of his mother. She is too much for me and he doesnt want to let her go. He has other siblings who can be with her. Im in 6th grade and I'm barely allowed to go anywhere alone, except for walking to and from school. My mom says that I need to be under her supervision until I become a teenager (around 14/15 years old). Even then, she'll check in on me once in a while. Im not allowed to go to malls alone. I'm not allowed to ride public bus. Im not allowed at friends houses unless my mom knows their families. She says its to prevent bad stuff from happening to me, like abuse or bad influences of any type.

Hello, my brother and I are identical twins and have similar personalities and interests but our older sister is really mean and malicious to me and nice to my brother. My son is 11, and around the time he was 7 his thing was hard and he was crying not knowing what to do. i took him to the doctor but they said he was fine and it was normal, and to just put him in cold water. now my son is 11 and since we heard porn in his room i have restricted him of watching any type of rated r things. he started stealing personal items (underwear ect.) from a women we share a home with. when we found out that was when we took the rated r content away. yesterday he had stolen more personal items and now the women is uncomfortable and i have placed him with his grandmas. i have 4 daughters and i don't want them feeling uncomfortable. please help me figure out what to do.

He is not a bad person or anything but lacks empathy. He had empathy on me as a child so I know he knows how to have it but in adulthood if I am hurting he ignores me and does not respond to texts. I have begun just avoiding him unless it is a family celebration.

My grandmother passed away just weeks ago. I am his grandson and I am 21 years old. I have come to stay with him so that he won't be alone. Usually my grandma would cook everything and clean everything. My grandpa can no longer do all these things by himself and needs help. He also wants to maintain the house in the same way.  She kept the cleanest house anyone ever could. But everything was going good since I've come to stay I thought. He never complained a bit and only thanked me.  I cook about 5 meals a week and try to sit with him every day after 7pm when I get home. I take care of the yard work too. I do have to go to work almost every day. I just started running my own resturant and if it fails then I'll be in trouble. But today he got very mad at me. He told me I should move out and that he can live alone. I accidentally dropped a spoon in the garbage disposal and I didn't sweep one day and a few things like that. And he wants me out now. And I'm really afraid he is not gonna take care of himself and eat junk food and just be alone. I'm not sure what to do. I told him I'm really sorry and I didn't mean to do anything to upset him. But he doesn't want to hear it. I know he is really upset about my grandma not being here. She really did everything around the house.

My boyfriend and I are 24 years old and live fairly close. I am a nurse and still working through this virus pandemic. He still lives with his mother and she dosent want him to see me because I work in a hospital. He cannot leave the house and no one can come in under her rules. He also asked if he can just stay at my house but she said no. I've  worked the ENTIRE time through this whole virus pandemic and I am not sick nor do I currently have any active symptoms. I go from work to home ONLY. I'm trying the best I can.  Yesterday she left the house to go pick up his brother (he is 22) who lives with their grandmother who she knows is actually sick! She brought him to their house and back to hangout. And tomorrow is his mother's birthday and she told us she is leaving tomorrow to "drive around for hours without getting out the car" to celebrate? I am not being sexually abused this time as this foster home is better but I can't see people other then those in this house unless it is via Internet and I get nothing out of that. My foster mother says this COVID-19 will probably be like this for about a year. I am scared. My social worker notified me my grandfather died of COVID-19 last weekend. I only met him twice as my bio-mother, his daughter, hated him and there is no funeral but it is scary that it hits close to home. I am scared, sad, and anxious. I was going to be taken by my social worker to see my mother this summer which I wanted to do as her nephew was putting together an afternoon family reunion 4th of July Weekend. I am sure that is off now with COVID-19. My father abused me so I have no contact by my mother I still have feelings for even though she drinks all day. I have not seen her since last October.

My parents say I should not be around other people and I understand but they went to see 4 friends yesterday at their beach house and so it was 5 or 6 people in a house. I don't know why it is okay for them to do that and I am in grave danger if I associate with family that lives nearby. I would not get up in their faces or hang out in their houses.
