Posted: 23 Dec 2019 07:34 PM PST my boyfriend broke up with me because of past trauma and a relationship isnt what he needs right now. he told me this is to work on himself and "for us to continue in the future" he also insists i keep my photo album of him as hes doing with a photo album of me. hes also telling me everything will work out and will be okay and that nothing will go wrong. i dont know if i should wait on him, not because of the wait, but because what if in the end i lose him as a boyfriend you know? he cant tell me when or if we'll get back together because his emotions are so overwhelmed but made sure to tell me when he's sure of something. he wants me to not expect anything but when that happens, my mind goes to the best that can happen, then the worse that can happen. i dont know what to do or how to let my emotions out. i feel like something regarding him and i will happen in january but that sounds crazy lol, so i try to disregard it. |

He comes from a very wealthy family, and my family is not poor but not rich. We're both in college, and we both have jobs. The "problem" is that he spends too much money on me. When we go out on dates I can pay for my share and I always offer to, but he never accepts that. Last summer he and his family traveled to Europe and he bought me A LOT of stuff. He said that next time I'm coming with them, but I'll only go if I can afford to, I would never accept him to pay for anything like this for me. He always buys me expensive gifts, even when it's not my birthday, or christmas, or anything. It's not that I don't like it, of course I do, it's just that there's no need for any of that, and I can't afford to buy him expensive things in return. I know that he doesn't expect me to, but I love him for the amazing person and wonderful boyfriend that he is, and not for the material things. I'm a simple person, I hate people to think that I'm with him because of money, and I would feel much more comfortable with a "normal" relationship, watching netflix at home instead of going to fancy places every weekend. How to tell him all of this without making him think that I don't like the gifts and the nice places that he takes me to? Like I said, of course I like it, I just don't want him to spend so much money on me. |

She introduced me to her friend. She always talked about how nice he would be for me or my sister. My sister didnt like him so I decided to give him a chance. My mom even gave me advice in dating him. To go slow because "he doesn't like easy women." She arranged a whole date for us. He asked her that same night if he could take me out. And she said yes. Ok for some reason, my mom got really angry when I told her that guy and I kissed. She started saying he is just trying to use me. She texted him and idk what she was texting him but he stopped talking to me. I got so mad at my mom for doing that. I kept asking and asking wtf she did. Then she started saying she never wanted me to date him. I'm so confused at that point. I started yelling then she started yelling that she and that same guy had a relationship before. That he is crazy, on drugs, has hiv, and he sleeps with men too. What the ****??? Now I cant tell if she is lying to keep me away or is she is straight up psycho and jealous. What kind of mother is this??? |

Luckily this hasn't left any majorly bad effects except he suffers quite badly from fatigue. He insists in still seeing me every weekend/available time, but is always majorly exhausted in the days that follow, even when we have been doing chilled things like watching a film together. I have tried to tell him that maybe we shouldn't meet up as often and he should rest more (like just rest and sleep instead of seeing me all the time), just until he feels a little better, however he didn't want that and insists that I still see him as frequently as I do. Currently I feel at a dead loss, and that Im a bad person in whatever I do. I tell him to not see me as often as he needs to rest, he tells me over and over thats not what he wants and he feels worse when Im not there. I give him what he wants and turn up, the next few days he is completely run down and exhausted. We have been dating for over a year now, with myself being in my early 20's, I just dont know which option (if any) is best right now. I really dont know what to do, all I want is to make him happy and feel better. So, people of yahoo, if any of you have ever experienced anything like this/have some advice as what I could do to help him, please give advice |

Whenever I approach a woman at a bar they always get incredibly nervous unless they are drunk and it's hard to tel if they don't want to talk to me or if they think I'm attractive. A lot of women will purposely avoid eye contact with me, but with gay men I can instantly tell they are attracted to me and they comment on my muscular arms and chest and back muscles and give me the "look". With women it's like pulling teeth trying to get them to feel comfortable looking at me in the eyes unless they are drunk, makes me feel like I'm a creeper Basically every gay man I have ever met or interacted with even as a total stranger looks like they want to rape me with the looks they give me and looking at my body The only women who are ever forward and easy to read their intentions are usually black women and I'm not into black women (not trying to sound racist) |

We were pretty friendly with each other, for example I would post the "tbh" posts on Facebook and she would like every last one. We were also friendly in college. We both went to the local school, but we wouldn't see each other often. Of the times we did, she seemed happy to be around me. We ended up talking at the library once for a few hours before I had to leave. It got real deep, we talked about family and a bunch of other stuff. There were even a few times she'd asked me if I had a suit, so she could do a photoshoot for a photography class. Or if we had a class we would sit together and do homework and stuff like that. For a while she had a boyfriend. They've broken up since. When she had her boyfriend she texted me once out of nowhere, saying she found her old phone with my number in it. We texted for a while but she ended up dropping the conversation. I left it alone but she texted me a few days after, and the same thing happened. The first time makes sense but why text me twice, especially if she s just going to drop the conversation. It's been a while since this but she just became single. Should I message her and try to shoot my shot, or even just be friends? |

I've had a childhood friend since 6th grade ( 10 years now ) we've always been good friends. dated once in high school for a super short period of time ( nothing serious we were just kids ) the second to last time I seen him a year ago he wanted to be in a relationship I said no thanks because for some reason I had no interest in him like that at all. He moved states and I seen him for the first time in a year. We spent a good amount of time together and although we were not in a relationship he'd call me babe baby so on and so on....and we got intimate a few times. He said he loves me but what he means by that is as a best friend. I came to find out that he has something back in his state going for him if you know what I mean. Any who we had a lot of fun and great laughs together this this last time. Definitely bonded. Just trying to define it. As it feels a bit confusing to define myself. |

Similar situation happened with different guys friend (not guy A) toward end of the conversation he would casually mention that whatever guy i mentioned eariler has a fiance etc ... She left me for a guy that she dated in high school. She dates him for 2 years in high school and he was abusive he would hit her , he would cheat on her , he would steal from her and he was also a heroin addict. Right before we started dating he came back into her life and she was very upset about him. Early in our relationship I was worried that she still loved him but she proved to me that wasn't the case as we had many good years of both being loyal and what I thought was in love. I am a 6 foot 2 athletic in shape guy who is very social and I have a good job now where I recently moved into my own appartment and I work for a good company where I have a lot of potential to move up. Apparently she left me and went back to her ex and cheated on me for a month before she actually left and she went and lived with him and basically got addicted to all sorts of crazy **** like pills and other ****. Which is sad to here but I can't rly sympathize considering I was good to her and she chose someone who was mean to her. She called me last night said she can't take it. I picked her up and she had a black eye and looked like crap. She Asked for me back and said she has spent every day missing me. I have 2 things in my brain. 1 tell her to screw off and she chose this. 2 be the bigger person and just part ways. |
