Posted: 02 Feb 2016 05:01 PM PST My friend a couple months ago asked me if I wanted to go to a concert that's coming up in a couple of days and I said maybe. Within the last 2 months or so, I've been developing anxiety attacks when I'm at school and in public, generally randomly and especially when I'm uncomfortable anywhere. My mom said that it wouldn't be a good idea for me to go because she doesnt want me having an anxiety attack in a crowd full of strangers and feeling really uncomfortable. I don't want to either, especially because it might ruin her and my experience. On top of that, my grandma recently died and her funeral is the same day. I think most people would understand that with my anxiety compounded with my grandma dying is enough to be excused from attending, because I can't.. but my friend doesn't have many other friends, and none that like the band. She also isn't very sympathetic or understanding of my anxiety, so I can picture her getting very upset and getting very angry, especially because she won't know what to do with the tickets that she bought. Am I right in assuming that she's not a good friend if she gets mad and stops talking to me over this? A month ago I had to cancel on meeting up to hang out because there was a snowstorm and tons of accidents and my car wouldn't start because it was so cold. She got really upset and started making me guilty about how she doesn't have other friends and I let her down. We are in high school by the way. |

She has always been the type of person who turns up extremely late for things or not at all. For example at her own Birthday dinner celebration (just with friends) we waited a whole 2 and a half hrs for her to show. Not to mention this was right after my two exams at university, so I was already tired and just wanted to go home after. But since it was her 21st Birthday I made the effort to go. However for MY 21st Birthday, she promised she would come and I let her know months in advance. Even the day before I texted her as a reminder and she still confirmed she was coming. But on the actual day I texted her asking what time she'll be coming and I received no reply at all. Even an hour in to the dinner party I was still constantly checking my phone and looking out for her I as thought she was being her usual late self. She did not text at all and 2 days later she sent a text not even apologizing but just saying Hi. I didn't reply to her for quite sometime but I decided to meet up with her and talk about it. So after our talk she said she never knew I would feel that way and that she'll make it up to me, but alas she still doing the same thing. Maddy was in a horse back riding accident that left her partially blinded. 8 years later Maddy was blind. She was declared legally blind at the age of 15 years old. She was scared to death of horses after the accident. She wouldn't even be in the same yard as a horse. Now she can jump on a horse and just ride. Maddy does gymnastics, she runs track, she plays soccer, she plays basket ball. She says since I can't see I rely on hearing. She texts me all the time and doesn't make a mistake. When she write she stays in the lines and doesn't smoosh any of her words together. I mean that's one person and she seems just like me. She does every thing we do and soe of it she does better than any one of us. I mean that is one person but can you be like that one day. Posted: 02 Feb 2016 01:51 PM PST For me it would require the person to demonstrate characteristics or actions that are not in line with what I perceive a friend would be. Unrepentant wrong doing on a regular basis. A person can do wrong and apologize but if the person has not stopped whatever it is they are doing wrong, they are demonstrating that they are in fact not sorry. Ceasing the wrong doing is expected after an apology is made. I'd say if threats or violence are made towards me, that's usually a good reason. |

Posted: 02 Feb 2016 12:58 PM PST So basically every now and then during a conversation among our inner circle of friends or when we're alone, my best friend will just instantly begin talking about his penis, about his girlfriend, and what they do wit it. It's very weird and kind of uncomfortable. We've been friends since 7th Grade, (not just me and him, but our small group of friends as well). We think he's joking so then we make jokes about what he does when he's alone. However whenever he talks about or continues, he seems to be very serious. Posted: 02 Feb 2016 12:46 PM PST I'm 19 and all my friends abandoned me except for my girlfriend, and I imagine once she figures out what a wreck I am she'll abandon me too. All the girlfriends I've had left me after I started showing my true self. I used to get bullied a lot in school as well, I went to a Catholic school where the other kids tormented me and nobody would do anything about it. I'm still very isolated, I've tried to go to a community college but I'm not smart enough and I've withdrawn for the past 2 semesters. I also don't have a job, and I can't handle that either. So my parents are always angry at me for not meeting their expectations. My brother doesn't like me either, he's younger than me but I'm not cool enough to hang out with him. I just feel like I'm doomed in this world. If I can't go to school, can't get a job, can't make friends, and can't keep a girlfriend, what else is there? I don't want to be a burden on everyone |

We are not in any of the same classes, so it s like I have no friends the whole day. We have kinda like free time before lunch, and you can go outside, library, gym, ect. They always go with their new friends ( and thier new friends seem to not have any interest in me at all) and I just go alone😕, but I sit with like 2 old friends at lunch. I still text my old friends, and I feel like my best best friend from last year and I have drifted apart. I REALLY don t want that to happen. It makes me sad, and I feel like at this time of year in school people already have their friends and squads and whatever. I m shy, and I feel socialy awkward and it s hard for me to talk to new people. im not bragging, but I know I m not super boring, because last year my group was like the weird funny group, and once you get to know me I m just weird and not awkward and just myself. Two years ago I had a manic:psychotic episode and posted some really weird stuff online....ever since then people act like they don't know me and have stopped being my friend. I feel embarrassed, I saw An old classmate of mine is now in my class and when I asked her about if she was in my class, she acted weirded out like she didn't even remembered me from before (we had even made plans and she flaked a few times) and I. Can't help but think it's because of the weird social media stuff. How should I handle it? And handle having her in class? |

He is trying to hide it all in and pretend to be my friend, but I can tell he hates me. He laughs at me when I do something stupid in my gym class (I'm not good at any sports). Jimmy and I have been friends since September, and Kayla is now studying abroad. Jimmy suddenly got really mean, and makes me feel bad about myself every time I see him. When I tell him a funny story, he just snaps and says, "that's not funny" or tells me that I know nothing about a subject that he's been studying so I shouldn't talk. Stuff like that. The problem is, I see him everywhere, and I am very close with some of his friends, like Sam. Every day, Jimmy, Sam, and I eat lunch, so I'm afraid that if I stop talking to Jimmy, or make it a big thing, I won't see Sam anymore. Also, Jimmy is super controlling over Kayla, so I'm scared that when she gets back he won't let me see her. (I know, he's possessive and she should stand up for herself, but that's not the point.) I honestly don't get it because she's really rude (she'll talk back to our teachers and will just do whatever she wants to in school), gross, and not even that pretty (she has a big nose, braces, and her hair is fried from straightening it so much so she has really bad split ends). The guys in my school are absolutely obsessed with her and she's starting to be really good friends with the popular girls in my school (she used to hate them). She always steals the spotlight from me when I'm around the guys and she's even flirting with my crush (she knows I like him). She barely talks to me now and only talks to me when she needs something or when nobody else is around. She also always has to be better than me in everything. The reason she's so popular now is because she makes fun of our teachers and our school. Everyone used to not pay any attention to her and now everyone wants to be her friend. It's really starting to get on my nerves. I do confront her about this but she says how I'm not a good friend either and says all of these things that make me a bad friend apparently. My other friends are starting to get really annoyed with her too. She always complains too much and we always have to do what she wants to do. I just need advice on what to do. |

But I hang with the same group of 3-4 people and meet others from there, but I really only have 1 friend since he lives nearby and brings me to the group because my phone basically doesn't work. I won't be getting one for a few months. I lost new friends from lack of contact due to this crutch. I usually go out 1-3 times a week (usually once) and make the most of it. But I get the feeling I should be doing something 3-5 times a week which leads me to a lot of insecurity. |

I don't feel like I have any friends. The only people who talk to me are fake phonies. Nobody I really want to be friends with is my friend. I can't have a girlfriend because I'm ugly and awkward. Even the girls I just want to be friends with who are nice to everyone don't seem to want to be around me. My body is too weak for sports or exercise due to genetic defects. I have a good job that pays well but it just seems so empty at the end of the day. I have tried volunteering but it just seems like a waste of time I don't feel like I can really make a difference. I had one really close friend who went there too. When I first got to school everybody wanted to be my friend. So I was kind of friends with everyone and the closer I got to them the further away I got from my old friend. Well now I have two maybe three extremely close friends but I used to have so many and I just ended up drifting from them and just closer to my two friends. Now I feel like I only have them. Which isn't a bad thing I mean I'm still aquentences with the other people but I just want our relays to be stronger. And I'm Worried what will happen when my two close friends right now get "bored" with me. I just don't want to end up alone but I feel like I'm setting myself up for that. So how do I keep my close friends but still be friends with everyone else? And how do I make sure I don't end up alone? Thank you so much! |

One day while I was at his house, his aunt was there. She is a beautiful woman who is in her forties. She always jokes with me and we have conversations from time to time. One day after school, my friend and I were at his house waiting for his mom to take us to a game room to celebrate my birthday.His mom ended up working late so his aunt took us. When we got to the game room, we get off the car and his aunt called me back to the car, told me,"Happy Birthday" and kissed me on the lips. I was turned on by this and told her that I wanted to kiss her more. She then told me that later we could hang out. Long story short, we ended up by ourselves at my friend's house and we ended up having sex. We are still having sex and I do enjoy it. I am sure my friend probably suspects something, but he doesn't say anything. I really have fun with this woman and I don't want to stop seeing her. Am I doing wrong? |

I thought I was pretty clear I wanted to be just friends--I don't want to get in the way of her schoolwork, but I just feel a little let down that we won't be able to spend much time together--even as just friends. We met senior year of high school in one of our classes, when I was 17. Even then, he liked me but I never led him on nor do anything that could make him think he ever had a chance more than friendship. I'm not cowardly or mean so I made sure he knew that he was a great friend but nothing more. Well, now we text occasionally. I'm not comfortable with that anymore because he frequently asks personal questions, such as how the sex is with my current boyfriend. I've asked him not to ask such personal questions but then he gets even more depressed and acts like everyone hates him, so now I just put up with it and give minimally invasive answers. He has often texted asking how he can be a better person, what's attractive about him, etc. He can be nice (when he isn't complaining) but I honestly don't find the guy attractive. I don't want to say that to him, for obvious reasons. Just the other day he messaged me, saying, "Am I attractive or a type or guy woman would like :/" I didn't respond because I don't know what to say. How should I handle this guy when he asks questions like this? |

And she disconnected. The funny thing is that she makes fun of my music all the time but I don't get butthurt about it but she got super pissed for absolutely no reason. So what should we do?
