She has helped me so much through my problems and is always calling to check on me or send messages (vise versa). She called 3 weeks ago saying sorry for not being on social media as much and that she's been overwhelmed and stressed. She vented some of shear stresses and asked how I was doing, that i was on her mind. Although she's gotten very quiet, she always randomly blowing up my notifications with "likes" on my posts. I sent her a Thanksgiving message thanking her for helping me all the time and how thankful I was for her being a friend etc. I wasn't expecting a huge response but all she put was "Happy Thanksgiving to you too" Do you think I've annoyed her? I wanna check on her but I'm afraid I'll annoy her more. I wanted to send a Christmas gift but I don't want to be more of a bother. What do you think is up? |

She's really nice, smart, and understanding. She's kinda the one we all go to w our problems cuz she always knows the right thing to say. BUT the few times she's done things I found upsetting she tends to right away say how I hurt her,as well. And kinda plays innocent. For instance, she told me she noticed my ex is friends on fb w her coworker. I asked her how she even knows who my ex is and she said ' you told me all about her. Geeze I'm hurt you'd forget you shared all this w me! And I can't help it if she popped up as a recommended friend! ' the point was WHY did she feel the need to tell me that knowing I have bad feelings toward my ex..but she was more focused on how I'm the one who told her this info and she just has a good memory. Another example is I asked her to please not tell anyone about a secret I told her, and she got mad and said how dare I mis trust her like that and that I was treating her like she's ' stupid '. Idk I always end up feeling on the defensive even when I'm the one who was hurt and let her know this. |

We would go places, have lots of laughs, and eat together, etc. One of these girls, I have a lot fo conflicts with at times that eventually get resolved but stay on my mind since the bother me. The other one is okay and we don't have this. We have a group chat that we all talk to each other in and haven't spoken to each other or hung out for several weeks. After that, I've just been a loner, eating by myself and not doing anything fun. Just living the every day in a mediocre way. Going to class, eating, doing some work, reading/watching TV/on my phone, sleeping. Repeat. It's been boring. I'm not unhappy about not having anyone to hang out with until I really think about the fact of me not really having any friends in college anymore. My other friends have friends of their own and I often see them hang out with these people and having fun without me. THAT'S what puts me down. I feel like I'm missing out, that I have a boring life, and that I did something wrong. I have other friends that go to different colleges that I text but they're usually busy with work and we don't text much. It's starting to creep on me. I keep telling myself that I'm fine with being alone with myself and there are times when I don't mind it. But it's come to be so much that, it's hard to deal with it. People will say "Why don't you just talk to people and make new friends?" but it's not that easy in my mind. It's this far in the semester that people already have their groups and friends. My classes give little ability to talk to people. I mean, I make small talk with people and I'm friendly and like talking to people but nothing comes out of it. What do I do? It's really bothering me and I'm thinking I'm not a good person since no one is talking to me. |

Her room is down in the basement and mine is on the 1st floor. I've known her for 3 years, been at least a year since she became vegan. I could give a **** less what she eats, but I just found out that she doesn't feel the same. I try to be polite and cook whenever she is not using or is in the kitchen. But I found out that is not good enough. It was late, I had just put something in the microwave. Chilling in the living room and she comes in. Starts off how she should have told me this in the beginning. Explains how whenever I cook or microwave the whole house smells like my food. That the smell is real bad in her room because the kitchen is above her room. Tells me how it makes her feel sick, that it really bothers her and even makes her angry (Note: she was pretty pissed off when she was telling me this.) I feel bad because it was never my intention to offend her and I had no idea. Says that from now on I have to I cook with all the windows open. That I can't use the microwave or cook after she has gone downstairs for the night. I was stunned and just nodded my head. Since then I have been walking on egg shells. I don't cook as much, and whenever I consider cooking I am afraid that I will offend her, so I try and cook before she gets home from work. But she gets home pretty early so that's difficult. Please, I need advice. I don't know what to do and I don't want to slowly start resenting my friend because of this. |

Isince graduating from college a couple years ago, she moved to Boston and is becoming pretty successful in establishing her career.. And I'm proud of her. She works hard and deserves it.. But I also don't see her much anymore since she now lives 7 hours away. She comes to our hometown every so often to visit her parents and friends, but even then I feel like she's always on the go and so busy. Time together is now just dinner or coffee because she always has something else to do. Maybe the days of us spending an entire day together are over. I know it's part of growing up but it makes me sad. Has anyone else dealt with this? |

We went to a party that one of my girl friends invited me to (Let's call her Nat) Matt and I would talk to each other throughout the whole party and then the next day after the party Matt and I stopped talking for awhile and I didn't know why. Him and Nat used to date but not anymore. He never told me why we stopped talking until a year later and the reason why was because Nat and I would talk a lot after school and Matt didn't like Nat at all because she would kinda stalk him and he said he was sorry. So after what happened I decided to let Matt go to get rid of the pain for what he did. It was hard for me to decided either to try harder or let go of the friendship including him as well. He had a best friend who actually ditched him and he said he sits by his self at lunch times and plays by himself. I was so close to tears I'm so sorry for him. If I was at his school I would hang around with him but I can't as we r at different schools is there any other way I can help? Btw we can't send him to clubs or stuff cos we r tight on money but I feel really bad for him and I wanna help. |
| Question: Can someone explain what just happened between me and my guy friend just now? Posted: 28 Nov 2016 12:38 PM PST I met a guy last summer and we hit it off right away. We shared life stores and talked about our common goals and had a strong physical attraction right away. Well he tod,me he didn't want to date as he liked someone else but wanted to stay friends. It's been about 5 months and last week I noticed his ex gf commented on my coworkers fb page so I shared that info with him that she's friends w someone I know. Maynbe unnessicary but didn't think much of it just happened to notice t. Well he accused me of creeping on his page ( win had nothing to do with his page at all) and I was upset but still calmly told him I understand why he would feel that way and I apologized and explained I just noticed it and told I'm about it. He continued to say I was being invasive and that I must have the 'wrong' impression about how close we are and told me to stop looking at his fb Friends as that's inappropriate. Then when I again said I was sorry if I upset him but if he was mad that's ok I understand. Then he called me ' cocky ' for saying he can be mad at me ( um I just meant I can't control that and I can only say I'm sorry that wasn't my intention) and he said I'm effed up with a lot of issues?! OK so now I went ahead and stopped responding to him, I've now blocked him on fb ( why he kept me as a friend if he had an issue w me seeing his friends is a mystery) and think I'll just end all contact. Was there anything else I could have said? |

She told me not to talk to her anymore and she blocked my phone number. last month I even sent her a letter to her house to ask for forgiveness and she did not answer me .... yesterday was her 20th birthday, and I sent her a message from a friend's phone And she said "Thank you" I did not say anything else to give her space. if she answered me, is she still my friend?? |

| Question: Feeling sad and lonely? 10pts? Posted: 28 Nov 2016 12:20 PM PST I am a high school senior female student. I know it's not something I should care in my life at this moment, but I am just in a state where I feel very bad. First of all, I really do feel like I am losing my very best friend I know since babyhood. And well, she is one of the most important people in the world. I don't know what is happening to us, but our friendship is different from what it used to be. She made a lot new friends and she would rather spend time with them rather than me. I mostly blame myself for it, because I feel like I became very socially awkward. Which leads me to the next point why I am feeling sad. So basically, it's really hard for me to keep conversation going, because I feel everyone is bored of me. I never know what to talk about. EVEN with my previously mentioned best friend. I try to start a conversation on a certain topic and the person I am talking to just says "mhm" or whatever and just stops. I feel like I am seriously a terribly boring person. I mean who would like to hang out with someone like me? It just makes me be very grumpy and sad on the inside. I never show it on my outside tho. So basically I am feeling super sad and lonely. I now realised I only have like 5 friends. I guess it just sounds stupid and all I should do is go and stop caring, but I just can't do it and I would seriously appreciate any advices you have to help with building new relationships, keeping the old relationships alive and stuff like that. So, any help, please? |
| Posted: 28 Nov 2016 12:17 PM PST It was Thanksgiving break, and I had to give my friend a homework packet (this packet isn't due for quite some time). We met twice, but I forgot both times (she never reminded me). Today, I had it, but I stupidly joked that I didn't have it. I gave it to her, but she got mad and walked off. I felt guilty about the whole thing. I tried to apologize, but I was nervous and upset so I ended up saying, "I apologize for everything, but your anger is not necessary nor helpful." I know it was wrong. I shouldn't have blamed her but I was angry that she was giving me the cold shoulder. By cold shoulder, I mean she ignored me and talked to this other guy the whole period. I regret it, but at least I tried. I was just so nervous. |

I don't care if it's normal or not, I think it is but I'm just curious what anyone else thinks because my parents sometimes get on my case about not having friends, having a bad attitude, not caring about anything, not wanting friends, and I've also been described as very antisocial and they think that I think that I'm better than everyone else, and other close family members and even people outside of my family agree with these statements. I don't disagree with everything but let me describe me: I don't think I'm better than everyone else, I'm an open-minded teenager but I won't join clubs at school or sports teams (i've tried) because I'm just not into them; too much socializing involved. Here's the main point: I avoid people at school and in public all the time. I don't care for relationships or friendships with family even. I just simply want to be left alone. Even with all my friends I've made in the past, most the time I just hated being around them all and left and made excuses because I realize now that I never wanted friends in the first place, i just followed what everyone else did but then i grew up. i am paranoid and anxious but thats not why i don't make friends. i genuinely have no pleasure being around people whatsoever. i don't just prefer being alone but I prefer isolation. this is not social anxiety... |
| Question: How do I get rid of nosy neighbors? Posted: 28 Nov 2016 12:08 PM PST My neighbors always come over and talk for hours. Mostly nagging and asking me stupid annoying questions. I come home without even knowing the are going to be there most of the time. They invite themselves and do as they please. They get incredibly drunk when they come over and are always smoking. They once had Xanax and snuck into the bathroom where they probably banged. When we aren't hanging out with them they are always looking through their window to see what we are doing. They are so intrusive. I'm about to snap and go crazy on them. All they do is mooch. So I need to get rid of them. What are some ideas to drive them off. Because yelling at them and slamming doors and all that isn't enough to get them to realize I need alone time. |

During this time I found out that he was also dating the same woman that my brother was going out with. When my brother found out he immediately stopped seeing this woman however, I continued to date the guy. He told me countless times that he was done with her. My brother told me where she lived which was only a few blocks from me. I walked over on her block and sure enough I saw him coming out of her building and getting into his car. When he saw me he ran in his car and started it up. He didn't have anything to say. I still continued to see him after this. He had a bday party and when she saw us together she tried to start a fight with me and threw a drink on him. My friends told me to leave him alone that it was all too much drama but I stayed. She once showed up to the place where him and I were on a date at and she started a huge fight with him. Again he told me he was done with her. After that we spend a very romantic weekend together in a nice hotel, the movies and a nice restaurant. I caught the flu and few days after and asked him to come take care of me. He said he would, and then refused to answer and return any of my calls all night. I walked over to her block and sure enough there was his car parked in front of her building. I was so furious that I slashed 3 of his tires. We haven't seen each other or spoken much in 2 months. We have alot of mutual friends so can we be friends after this? |

And I don t agree with some of the things he s done, but I believe that he s a good person, and my friend could make him a better person. Plus, he makes my friends happy. So my friend asked me if I approved of the relationship, and I said yes, because she was happy, and that s all I wanted for her. The problem is, her mom didn t know, and we knew she wouldn t approve. I told my friend that she needs to tell her mom, because she was eventually going to find out at some point. She said no, because she s terrified of her mom and what she s going to say. Her mom is super strict and doesn t let her do anything, she doesn t even have a phone. We are in 10th grade. She is so overprotective and my friend hates it. She hates her house and wants to move out to college as soon as she can. Anyways, it was recently thanksgiving, and her mom found out. And I believe she saw our conversations about her boyfriend which is very unlikely due to how crafty we got, but it is possible. Anyways I don t know what to do because my friend s heart is hurting and I feel somewhat responsible for this mess. But how are kids supposed to tell their parents stuff when **** like this happens?? I just wish that things didn t have to go down like this, because something similar has happened before. |
| Question: How do I talk to my deceased Grandpa's friend? Posted: 28 Nov 2016 10:15 AM PST My Grandfather died 18 years ago when I was only 5. I don't know much about him and I'd like to know more. My Grandma has also passed on now, and my Mom and Aunt don't know much about their Dad beyond "Dad stuff". One of my Grandpa's friends is still living and I would like to talk to him, but how would I even approach him? The man knows I exist, and I know he was my Grandpa's friend, but that's all we know of each other. How should I contact him? And what should I say? I would like to talk to him for an hour or two, would I invite him to my place or essentially try to invite myself over to his place? (He is old, after all. As socially bad as it seems, that might be the only way.) I'm incredibly socially awkward to begin with and this situation is far beyond my comfort zone. However, I feel like a great deal of info about my Grandpa will permanently be lost if I don't talk to his friend. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. |

So far,she's liked 3 of the guys I liked (one that I dated). The second guy I liked, she also ways used to follow us around and barely gave us some alone time. My other friends started to notice that and felt that she liked him too. Recently,she even liked the third guy I liked two years ago (he liked me too) ,but he doesn't like her like that. Now, she likes the second guy(a guy I liked for a year) and she wants more with him but he isnt sure it he wants a relationship. Also,she would sometimes tell me things she does with the guys (almost like she's trying to make me jealous). For example,she said "Sam wanted me to lay on his lap" or "L asked me this while he was walking me to class." Is she doing this purposefully? I know she means well but still I can't help but wonder what her true intentions are. |
