I get so nervous just thinking about preparing food and making sure it's done right. I have always felt like people are overly critical of my cooking because my mother, mother-in-law, & grandmothers were known for their cooking and entertaining. I just don't have a gift for entertaining. It makes me a wreck. I know somewhere down the road I will have daughter and son in laws and grandchildren and what am I gonna do?

My dad is islamic and is from Africa and he beliefs by 14 and 15 I should be slaving away and be doing all the chores in the house (my mom does them) but I have a social life and I have school work to do so today is thanksgiving he is mopping the floor and outta no where he like oh you don t do anything in the house this should be ur job at 14 and then while my mom is cooking he s like 14 and don t know how to cook and I was suppose to go my friends house for a dinner also cuz she invited me and my mom is telling me to ask him I feel like I don t owe him anything because he barely does anything for me he isn t financially there for me or even emotionally like a girl should have her father and he just lives in the house. My sister is 11 and my brother is 13. I'm 15. So I was asking my mom a question and I said, "Ma can we go-" and she interrupted and said "NO." And so I was joking around and said "you suck." And so my sister came in and smacked the back of my head and I yelled "WHY DID U DO THAT!" So I chased her around and hit her back. Next thing I know is my sister is whining saying that I hit her and my mom got mad at me and started yellingg at me so I went to the living room. My brother was in the living room and said "your mean, go away nobody likes you." I just rolled my eyes. Later on I was helping my mom make food. And my sister being a brat started mocking everything I was saying so I yelled really loud and told her to stop. My mom yelled at me and said stop yelling. I got mad and said "STUPID PEOPLE!" And she said what did you say? And I just went to my room. She yelled throughout the house and said "IF YOU SAY THAT AGAIN I WILL BURN YOUR MOUTH!"

IM 16 AND I WANTED MY FAMILY TO HAVE A NICE DINNER TODAY SO I HAD MY MOM GO OUT AND BUY ALL THE INGREDIENTS AND I TOLD HER ID COOK BECAUSE SHE HAS WORK TODAY. ANYWAYS i prepped mac and cheese, turkey, peas and corn, stuffing, and sweet potatoes all last night which took around three hours. this morning i put the stuffing, mac and cheese, and sweet potatoes in the oven. everyone started eating and after they were done, my brother came into the room and started talking about "constructive cristism" and telling me everything he didn't like about the food. he's 13 and he was just being rude as fk like i did my best and he was just trying to make me feel bad about it. no one told me thank you or anything which ***** sucks because it would mean a lot to me if they at least showed appreciation for the food, especially since it's thanksgiving lmao. btw im not being biased or anything when i say the food turned out pretty good. my family is just rude as fk, my grandma is coming over later and i know she'll show some appreciation but i really hate my dad and brothers. should i make them a chocolate poop pie?

I am 21 and spent most of my life trying to make everyone in my family happy however I end up being frustrated and they just seem like zombies. all my dad does is work, come home and watch TV all night till he knocks out, my brother is a schizophrenic who basically cant hold a conversation with and my oldest brother just stays in his room all day and when he comes out, he seems so mute and boring. my mom is my only hope at this point but now she's just sleeping half the day and complaining about my schizophrenic brother all day. all while i try to come up for activities for us to do, conversations we can have, and games to play but none of them want to do that other than my mom. should i just give up or what? I'm the oldest of 5 children. I'm 17, my brothers are 8 and 13, and my sister are 9 and 8. I'm not a homosexual but when I look at my siblings all I see is that same baby that I was introduced to as a little child. I play rough with my brothers just like all big brothers do but I have no problem kissing them goodnight. I know. It sounds gay but I'm not. I still carry my sisters around like babies too. My mom knows how I am about pictures being taken of me but every time I look up somebody is saying they got a picture of me sent to them. She is really pissing me off with this to the point I have the urge to go run in there where she is and stomp her in the throat! my mom is a toxic parent, there's no telling what her mood can be. when she comes home from work she's really tired and tends to take all her anger out on me. sometimes that anger lasts all week. she'll yell at me about how lazy i am, i never help her, don't make myself useful, etc. but when i do try to help her, she yells at me for not doing it right, like i can never name her happy. sometimes she hits me with blunt objects and threatens to "bust my face open" or stab me. she's even challenged me to fight her , but i can't because she's my mom. SHE HATES THE FACT OF ME BECOMING INDEPENDENCE IN HER HOUSEHOLD. she can be a good parent, but my whole life she's been emotionally & in some cases physically abusive. and when i try to address the situation, she'll start to say how i'm so ungrateful for all the sacrifices she's made for me. and that if it weren't for me she'd be living in a better life somewhere else. i feel terrible when she says that. maybe i am being an ungrateful, spoiled brat. if i were to run away, there's a place where i would be better off there emotionally physically and financially. i'll have a job , a ride to school and pretty much anywhere at any time, a car for myself, financial support. but i'm afraid. i don't want the police or the state to get involved in this. i just want to leave in peace. my mom threatened to put me out but i haven't actually left yet. i want her to put me out again so i can actually leave this time. what should i do ?

I know I have anger issues this past year I punched about 9 holes in the wall I think when I was 15 it started I use to get hit when I was younger I remember having marks on my legs from the belt and I started punching the ground. I would yell back but not to the extent now recently me and my mom were arguing and yelling back and forth and it escalated and she put her hands on me and she hasn't for years pulling my hair and that's when I punched about 3 holes including the 9 and told her she was the only one I hated I said other things in the past like she was crazy and fake and different things she would try to do things for me but sometimes I feel some of the things she do is wrong how do I fix my anger it's out of control and I wish I could fix the past or make it up I have a lot of stress besides that and don't like how my life is like that.

I hate attending family gatherings. Everytime Thanksgiving or Christmas rolls around, I feel a sense of dread form in my stomach. It's not that I hate the people, I just don't care for them. I don't have much in common with any of them and I never was a party person to begin with. Today we have people coming over and I was planning on saying hi then hiding in my room with the excuse that I'm sick (I'm actually sick) and have a lot of homework (I actually have a lot of homework).

The moment, my oldest sister turned 18, my mom told her that even though some of our Aunt's and Uncle's who have of age kids don't seem to be following the rule, she will still follow the rule her siblings came up with when it came to family get togethers. That rules is that once you turn 18, you start bringing food or snacks or deserts to the get togethers. My mom made it easier on us, that if one of us was short on money or without a job, she would pay for it herself, but we always brought a dish for every of age member of the household. My oldest brother is 34, still living with mommy, rarely pays her rent or does chores and mom and my youngest sister each offered to buy his food for him, all he has to do is grab a bag or two of chips for $2-5 since he kept putting it off and now he's in a shouting match with my mom that he isn't bringing anything because he shouldn't have to. That none of my other cousins are made to bring stuff when they turned 18. I think he's just being obstinate and should just grabb

I'm 16 year old guy my parents have had me homeschooled for 8 years(still am homeschooled). Through out 8 years until now, I have had very limited contact with friends and other people outside of the family. My parents want me out of the house for good, but they've never given me the right tools to leave. I don't have a learners permit yet or a car. They won't teach me how to drive and when I ask if they'll let me get lessons or let some other person teach me they say no and that it is my problem and not there's. They won't let me get a job. Everytime I tell them I found one and if they could take me to the interview, they flat out say no without me letting me finish. They won't even let me go to a youth group to make friends with people since I am homeschooled. We don't have any bus/ public transportation near us(don't live in a city) and I can't afford a taxi/cab since my parents never take me to job interviews. And on the road, there is no room to walk. I'm stuck basically I don't know what to do. What would you do? Is this normal of parents??

Edit I take my two boys to my Brother Jeffs house to visit on the weekends. I am friends with their only neighbor who have a little girl that my boy's made good friends with. Brenda is 7 like my youngest (our oldest is 8). At first I did not see this as an issue. When I first met Brenda and her Mother.. She came over holding Mommy's hand wearing just her sweater and white underpants after coming home from church. Her Mother lets her wear her panties as bottoms to play in if she wishes. The boys did not seem to care or notice when she in her underpants and honestly I think she looks cute! The issue is last weekend Brenda got in trouble. When the boys went to the door her Mother told them she had been a bad girl and could not play. Boys are boys and they were nosy. Our seven year old niece Anna is staying with my husband Steve and I til her parents get back. She made Uncle Steve blush and feel weird which I don't understand....do you understand the reason? I will start this by saying I am a vegan and I am also opposed to Thanksgiving on moral grounds. My grandmother invited us all to her home for dinner and I declined, my parents tried to make me feel guilty by saying "Your grandmother has been up since 6 am cooking" She made turkey with homemade stuffing, homemade cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, homemade dinner rolls with fresh butter, mashed yams, carrots and homemade gravy followed by homemade pumpkin pie with whipped cream. I told them I can't eat meat, butter, lard (in pie crust), sugar or potatoes and that Thanksgiving celebrates genocide, racism and imperialism.I also refused to pray and give thanks (I am an atheist) I refused to go and I was grounded, they told me my grandmother will be heartbroken if I don't go and I told them I don't care. I am now grounded and probably won't even get Christmas presents. My parents called me a selfish, spoiled little brat and yelled at me. What am I going to do?

Hi. I am a 16 year old female. I am the only female child my parents have had. I go out on very rare occasions. Whenever I go out I need to ask my dad 2-3 weeks in advance and remind him the day of if he decides to let me go (sometimes he changes his mind) and i have a limit of 2 hours out of home. I m very responsible. I do everything I need to and more. My grades in school are the best they could, straight A student. I have a job, and provide for myself. But my dad is very overprotective, I almost feel I have no life out of my household. Recently my friends have been going out a lot more then ever, and I can never relate and feel so left out. I really want to go out more and have a little more freedom, but I feel like my dad is gonna decline. How do I convince my dad that I m ready to take on the world, by myself? I don t want to be isolated all my life. I want to go places and do things with other people. Help!

I'm not female but still this would tick anyone off if you're a teen and have been having to hear this everyday for 8 years. And whenever you ask these people to stop they refuse to. My parents and one of my aunts call me overweight everyday, they tell me to lose 25 pounds and that I shouldn't eat anything. may be overweight they may be right, but my body fat percentage(also I have no flabby skin) is 8% but my weight is 120 pounds and my height is 5'7. I never eat sugary stuff/soda or junk and I never eat snacks(get yelled at and say I don't need to if I ever try to eat one), I'm vegetarian and only eat twice or three times a day. But whenever I eat anything I get called overweight, get told to go to weightloss camp, stop eating, why are you eating, dumb overweight pig. Is this critism or mental torment if you've been hearing it non stop everyday for 8 years? Btw, my aunt and parents weigh close to 200 pounds so maybe they're just messed up. What would you do?

I m older than my sister, who is 10 years old, and basically she is out of control. She spends her days on her tablet, as most kids that age do, but it s different. She s on it all day and sometimes is up till 4 a.m. on it. But that isn t it. She has was worst temper I ve seen on anyone, adult and child. Take that thing away from her or do something she doesn t like and she ll physically fight you and she s been able to bruise me. Ear piercing screams, pushing, pounding her fists on you. She s pushed my sickly grandfather before. And then she does this sinister stare. But that s not it. She hasn t eaten a vegetable since she was a baby. Anything besides chicken or ground beef is out of her limits. She constantly snacks on anything sweet or sugary and fills up entire glasses with soda which is all she drinks about 5 times a day. Her habits have been so bad I ve found food wrappers in her sock drawers, under pillows, in her jewelry box, in her toy chest, in her closet, and in odd places such as her sheets, clothing, shoes, etc. She has no eating disorder because she loves the way she looks saying she s "cute". Though she is overweight. She is an active child and likes to draw and be outside, once in a blue moon. My parents, sadly, call her baby-like names and spoil her. During a confrontation I have done to her about her habitual behaviors she s told me "she has them wrapped around her finger". Please help my family before it s too late!!

So... I am 13 years old. Basically, my sister (in my opinion) is really badly brought up. When ever my parents say no to something, she always starts crying and doesn't stop. (Untill they change their mind.) Also, she gets candy, chocolate milk, chips or something else EVERYDAY. I am really worried. She gets it everyday. This morning, My sister asked if she could get some chocolate milk and my dad said yes. She hadn't taken one bite of her breakfast - (As always) - (And as always my parants doesen't see any problem) Well, my dad left to go to the toilet. After he walked away, I tried to tell that her that she should eat her breakfast and then she could get the chocolate milk after. She told me that she had to drink first and eat after. I knew she wouldn't eat after, and as I thought, when she was done, I said "Now you're done. Can you eat you breakfast?" No, she didn't want to. Then my dad came back and as always he said "ahhr, It doesn't matter." And then he left to get her to kindergarden. Also, she is always angry and cries just if you say Hi. She doesn't reply when you talk to her, except if you go right in front of her and shouts the question at her. Her bedtime on weekdays is her own choice. They try to put her to bed at 20:00 - 8PM (Which is quite late for a 3 year old on.) But she starts crying and then she stays up untill like 22:13 - 10:13PM.... (I did try to talk to my dad about this, but he just says that he knows what he's doing.) THANKS - PLEASE HELP!

There not even learning about LBGT at home, cause all they see is a mother an father like some old tv show in black an white. An they put them in church where is backward thinking. Children dont belong to a mother an father. They belong to whole communites. Why cant Obama make a law to take them away an let them be raised in different homes? An there racism to. My mom was put into a psych ward two days ago because of a voicemail she left me stating she would kill herself and have my brother to find her (he's 18 by the way). - I called 911 and they took her in. Now, today is thanksgiving, My friends told me that since my mother isn't here to take him out or cook. I should take him then. I agree with that but what are so other ideas my brother and I could possibly do?

Question: I m 13 and my parents are going to kick me out from school?

I m thirteen and my parents wanted to send me to Monfort Boys Town because I m watching movies every time I ate my dinner.Today,they just shouted at me and said WE NO NEED A USELESS AND BAD KID LIKE YOU SO WE DECIDED TO SEND YOU TO MONFORT BOYS TOWN!THIS IS THE LIMIT WE CAN STAND ON YOU! And so I m feeling so scared and bad now.what should I do???

He is a mean person but he is family though not active in the family. I hopefully won't have to see him at Christmas but I think I might. Today I dont have to see him thankfully.

Question: My mother keeps me from the relatives she is estranged from and doesn't see this hurts me. How do I get her to see this?

Simply telling her hasn't worked. I sometimes see them as I am an adult now but growing up she never let me. They are private people so I can't invite myself to their houses and stuff so still miss out sometimes on extended family because of my Mom (the other cousins get together because their parents do). So how do I get my mother to see this and how do I go about accepting it and moving on?

My mom is on drugs and two days ago she left me a voicemail stating how my brother doesn't help around the house and what if she killed herself for him to find her because she believe he's living off of her. My brother is 18 by the way. I called 911 and they went to my mom's house and transferred her to the hospital. They made a decision to keep her and put in her in a psych ward. Today's thanksgiving and since my mom isn't able to be here, I wanna do something special for my brother. So I'm thinking about taking him out to eat.

Since last one week I was residing with my cousin sister she is 8 years older than me.She is quite good in nature.She is living alone.I got a new job in another town so I am living with her.But from last 2 days she is behaving quite abnormally.She started walking half naked in front of me.She is trying every thing to provke me for something bad.She every time try to touch my lap and try to touch my dick over boxers.She even wants that I share bed with her.How could I manage all this.Please share your thoughts.

My mom keeps sayin "wow Sky is going to be 6, the months go on top of each other so fast" then when she was lookin to get my other sister a outfit & she was tryin to pick out a size, since she is gettin big & she said "wow Isabella is going to be 8" She said to be one day "come here" so I did, "she said look at these shoes for the kids, I love this stuff because once they get older that's it." Then she said "you know it's so cute when she comes up to me & says mama" then I can't remember if she said at the beginning or end "since sky is the last baby" or "since she's the last one (or) baby" She says to my sisters "I can't wait till all of you get married". It's me 17, then my two other sisters 7, & 5. She also takes care of her sick father, & we have 3 dogs When I ask her if she wants another baby she told me no, then another time she said "let me live my life & worry for yours, my mind is far from that" my grandma did the needle and thread thing on my mom when I was little, when I told my mom it was 3, she said "see I told you" like in otherwise don't sweat it. She's always talking about when I have kids or my sisters BUT mostly me one day. Sometimes she jokes "if you need me, I'll be on vacation" My dad works so much & once he comes home he's very tired & doesn't do much, I'm 17 & can't even enjoy my teens or do anything because I am helping 24/7 & then going to school/doing homework, I see no life at all, I help as much as I can since we have no one else to help at all

My aunt invited the family to thanksgiving dinner this year, but she cancelled this at 5:00 this morning saying she was going on a trip. She ruined a lot of the family's thanksgivings and they have no where else to go. My mother offered to bring in sides that would feed about 20-25... She bought all of them but its alot of food each. Thankfully, (no pun intended) I am able to go to my aunt's dinner on the other side of my family. But my mother and sister don't mess with my other side like that and would probably want a full meal with us.

Question: How do I forgive my mother at this time of year for the hurt her keeping me from my Dad at holidays?

She is mad he divorced her. Plus his new wife is not the nicest around kids. I am a teen now so don't mind stepmother. My mother still says no when my Dad offers to have us for one holiday. I feel so sad knowing I am missing out on the holidays with Dad and his family. My mom won't budge even as I tell her it hurts. How can I get over this?

So when I was around 4 my grandmother started to make me dry hump her, touch me, see porn, I use to enjoy it, then my mom found out twice and it stop for a long time, then when I was 15 she said to me Megan here, I go sit down and she starts to show me porn and how can she save the ones she likes to her phone? I remember when I was younger. My teens and all the way up to my mid twenties. I was rash, arrogant, made a lot of mistakes and failed to see the consequences of my actions. But you live and you learn. In a way I blame my father. Or blame is maybe the wrong word. I only have myself to blame but had my father been a real father things might have turned out differently. My father was more of a friend, big brother type. He wasn't interested in discipline, teaching and taking the tough decisions. He wanted to have fun. I recently got a son and I don't want to be like my father. I remember I had a friend who went in totally different direction that I did. I remember when we were young and his dad was this massive Goliath protecting his young. He was a no nonsense type of guy. Strict but fair, a hard @ss but for a reason. My friend never made the mistakes I did. I just wonder if your role as a father has that big of an impact on children. Can you be like my dad and still be "successful", for lack of a better word?

My stepmom is pregnant with triplets and for some reason is so rude to everyone!! My dad hired a nanny to come over everyday to look after my one year old brother and my stepmom just constantly asks her to do things and like yells at her from the bedroom instead of coming out. It's actually kind of embarrassing for me because when I have friends over my dad is constantly telling us to be quiet or to go outside because my stepmom is sleeping and when she's awake she never even says hi to my friends, she's just rude to them. Should I talk to her???

in short , my mom doesn't care about me . Maybe she does but doesn't show it idk . But she has become this person i truly don't like ( I don't want to say hate but it's close ) . She's always complaining about every single thing . She doesn't want to have a social like , all she does is sitting at home watching tv dramas all day. When i want to talk to her she either yells at me or shrugs me off . She doesn't even cook . She stopped buying me clothes. She doesn't give a **** about my birthday but god forbids if it's her birthday and I don't get her anything. And when i do get her something that i spent so much money on -since she also gives me money for everything i'll talk about it in a sec- she always has some rude comments to say to me or usually she gives the present back well not gives she "throws" it at me . She gives me like 100$ a month and she expects me to use it for all my needs includeing clothes and stationary and sometimes food . I'm being serious. I told her countless times that this money is not supposed to buy me clothes and food instead she should do it . Also , i really want to end this and try to get along . I've seen my friends with their mothers And I can't containe my jealousy . I'm even embarrassed to tell them anything about my mom because there's literally nothing good to say . I don't know how to deal with her . She acts like a 5-year-old most of the time . Pls help !!

Starting from a young age like 2/3 I would dry hump anything, anyone, anywhere, anytime. My mother was too old to parent by the time she came around so while she was scolded she never had ANY punishment or consequences. As a result she is a brat of a 24 year old. She is 24 and personality wise 9.

He's a piece of **** and he's always been like that ever since he can remember... He's got worse now since he's got the "money". My dad was a lot like him when he was younger this is why I despise ma dad... Only my dad was physically aggressive too, my brother never was, not since we were kids and he grew stronger than I am. Okay so in short, I want revenge and I need help enacting it. The person I want revenge on is my father's mistress. Now for the history. My mom and dad were married for 20+ years. My dad was a soldier for 30 years. Because of this he was gone almost all the time leaving my mom to take care of me and my brother. Even when he got home, he never tried to have a relationship with me or my brother. He retired years ago. He cheated on her last year and now they're getting divorced. I'm glad, she deserves better. He did so with a woman half his age. He lost his job because of this, making it so she had to get a job working 1AM-3PM (nothing inappropriate, mind you.) just to get us by. He lied to me saying they weren't seeing each other. I know this because she's a dumb *** who post selfies of them constantly on instagram with the tags "husbandmaterial" "hessohandsome" "myheartisintexas" (where he's living now.). In these pictures they're having fun golfing or drinking while everyone at home is struggling just to get by. I don't want him in my life anymore. But I want her to suffer. I'm not blaming her for 'seducing him'. He's a grown *** man who makes his own decisions.. She's just carrying on in this fantasy world that she hasn't hurt anyone. I want revenge. And don't give me any of that 'that'll make you as bad as her' crap. If you want to give me revenge tips for him too that's fine as well. How should I do so? Part of why I'm so mad is he made this huge deal about how this was a chance for us to get closer and for him to get closer to god. Also, she runs a Sunday school class. Just as a fyi.
