Question: Was this mean what this girl did to my cousin? Posted: 12 Aug 2019 01:03 PM PDT A couple days ago my cousin (he's only 8) came home crying. He said his hamster drowned and died. Long story short this is what happened: He tried to make friends with a girl his age. He showed her the hamster and according to him, she snatched it from his hands and threw it on the pond. The girl briefly said sorry and claimed she thought it could swim. However, she then walked away laughing while my cousin was crying by then. The parents did made the girl apologize to him and claimed she was just going through stage kids go through, that she didn't know any better, etc. My cousin said she did it on purpose. He's still sad over it and can't understand why the girl was laughing. |
Question: Why do entitled kids expect their parents to pay for college? Posted: 12 Aug 2019 12:36 PM PDT I graduated with an accounting degree not too long ago. My middle class parents made me work my way through college because they don't believe in anything being handed to me, so I did. I worked full time and went to school part time at a state school while living at home. It took me 6 years to graduate, but I did it with little debt and no help from my parents. I don't get why entitled children nowadays expect free money from their parents. When I have kids, they will be doing the same thing I did. |
Question: I need help with this? Posted: 12 Aug 2019 12:27 PM PDT What is a rent a daughter? |

Question: Is my mother toxic ? If so how can I handle her ? Posted: 12 Aug 2019 11:36 AM PDT I'm a 20 year old woman and my mother still treats me like a child. When I do something wrong or not the correct way my mother will always call me a dumb *** or she tells me I'm slow do I need a disability check for how I act it's starting to annoy me I try my best to ignore my mother but when I do ignore her and try to walk away she just comes all in my face and say you hear me talking to you don't walk away from me did you hear what I just said to you I just respond in a normal tone and tell her yes I understand because If I don't say anything my mother will try to hit me. Also one day I forgot to call my mother when I got home it was really a busy day for me so I totally forgot. she then texted my phone and ask was I home yet and I told her yes I totally forgot to call and tell her she just gets to yelling where is your head at are you dumb you are acting really stupid today like literally everything I do my mother just finds a way to pick with me and get on my bad side it was another time my Bestfriend was over my house and my mother comes in yelling at me picking with me over small things I shouted to my mother and just said okay cause I don't wanna argue with her she then comes in my face yelling at me saying don't yell at me what you just say to me don't let me embarrass you in front of your company she also put her hand up like she was gonna slap me. Help ? What should I do ? It's getting worse n worse by day I love my mother but I just think she's toxic |

Question: Should I move back in with parents ? Posted: 12 Aug 2019 10:58 AM PDT Just turned 18 and decided to move in with my brother and his gf in a different city. I thought i'd have three weeks to make the decision, but things changed and I ended up only having a couple days to decide, so I decided to go for it. Now, i'm currently living with them but wondering if I should move back. His gf is annoying/whiny, but my family at home is crazy and I do most the work. Staying at home would mean I could save up while going to college and move out in my own in a year hopefully. If I stay with my brother, I can't start college til the spring semester. I don't want to be seen as a failure for moving back so quickly, but I want to do what's best for me at the same time. I also don't want to move back, and end up being stuck here the rest of my life. I have to make the decision ASAP. Please help me, i'm very indecisive!!! I attached the pros and cons list I made earlier lmao |
Question: Is it ok to be angry at a rude young teenager? Posted: 12 Aug 2019 10:37 AM PDT he is over the line and very disrespectful MALE teen.... I'm a man in his 40s |
Question: Since my sister died we decided on cremation. Should we have a public or private service? Posted: 12 Aug 2019 09:58 AM PDT I am in charge of deciding, she died last night. Question: Would you forgive your parents if they raised you in poverty? Posted: 12 Aug 2019 09:54 AM PDT I was born and raised in poverty. I moved out at 18, went to college and pulled myself into the middle class. I haven't talked to my parents for almost 8 years and never plan to. When my husband asked me why he couldn't meet my parents, I just lied to him and told him that they were abusive which was why I left home at 18. What I didn't tell him was the truth, that they were selfish and irresponsible enough to raise me in poverty. |
Question: My uncle is terrifying. How do I stay safe when I have to see him? Posted: 12 Aug 2019 09:54 AM PDT His wrath strikes at people with the slightest annoyance. All notice his wrath but none have held him accountable for his fury. |
Question: Can i leave home at 17? Posted: 12 Aug 2019 09:46 AM PDT I live in Tucson Arizona and im going to be 18 in 4 months, but i just cant take it here any longer. My parents treat me so bad to the point where i want to run away but i know if i run away the cops will just bring me back home and ill get it worse. I also dont want to stay at a friends house and they get in trouble for having me there or something. My parents recently kicked me out of the house with no shoes or clothes, but three days later they reported me as a runaway and my school made me go back home with them. I dont want to get them in trouble but i just want to leave home NOW i cant take it anymore. I would have a good place to stay if i left. |
Posted: 12 Aug 2019 09:30 AM PDT Let's say someone let a cousin (who lives a four-hour drive away) borrow $500. Then about ten years later, that cousin's mother died. So the person goes to the funeral and gives cousin a $100 check enclosed in a sympathy card. FYI - the cousin has more than enough family members to help contribute for funeral expenses - five brothers and sisters, and several adult nephews and nieces. Obviously, the generous person would NOT have seemed rude if she just gave flowers, since she's not only NOT immediate family, but also doesn't have an emotional connection, due to the long distance. Is she a pushover? |
Question: What is the least painful way to end your life? Posted: 12 Aug 2019 09:11 AM PDT I am wanting to end my life but don't want to be in pain doing it. I just want it to be quick and painless. What is the best way to end it? I am thinking carbon monoxide. Thank you for your time. |
Question: Should I pay my dads girlfriend for printing my resume? Posted: 12 Aug 2019 08:57 AM PDT My printer is broken and she has printed things for me in the past. I need to print my resume. I know ink is very expensive and she is probably thinking I should just buy a new printer instead of asker her to print things for me. Should I give a couple of dollars? |
Question: Why so some women focus on establishing a career before having kids? Posted: 12 Aug 2019 08:47 AM PDT I am a psychology major in college. I wanted to go to grad school and become a psychologist but I decided that I'm not going to do that. After me and my boyfriend of 3 years graduate, I'm going to be a full time stay at home mom while he works full time. Taking care of kids will be my 'career'. |
Question: Do you feel bad for doctors because they have kids so late? Posted: 12 Aug 2019 08:16 AM PDT I know somebody who is 30 and still doesn't have kids. She graduated from medical school and is now focused on doing her full time residency at a hospital. She isn't married either. She probably does't have time for that. |
Posted: 12 Aug 2019 08:10 AM PDT Let's say the man's biological cousin is her husband. And keep in mind that other men (not family at all) flirted with comments such as "Thank you! ;-p" and such. |
Question: Is this normal for a child to do? Posted: 12 Aug 2019 07:49 AM PDT So when I was a kid I was homeschooled so I had no other kids to play with except for my siblings and my next door neighbor. My best friend, who was my next door neighbor, one day kissed me and had me strip naked (btw we were both 8); now at first I was against it but eventually I gave in. She ended up doing the same thing to my sister, who at the time was 6, and I ended up kissing my sister a couple of times too. Shortly after, we stopped being friends and I never kissed my sister again. Years later, when I was 11, my very toxic parents got separated and I was extremely screwed up. My parents were mentally and verbally abusive and I was so socially awkward that when I finally went to a school I had trouble with fitting in. Since I was 8 I always touched myself, I just one day discovered my clit and constantly played with it. One day when I was 11, I was at my Meme's house and she had this puppy that used to be ours. The dog would always sniff and try to lick my private but I one day let it happen in the bathroom which I enjoyed. It lasted for a little bit after that like maybe a month or two and then I found porn to use instead of the puppy. I feel so horrible and have to much regret. I love my siblings but not in that way and I'm definitely straight so I don't know why I ever let myself kiss a girl. And on top of that I let my dog lick my private and I definitely do not have an animal fetish. I feel so embarrassed and disgusted with myself and I don't know what to do. |
Question: Is my brother toxic? Posted: 12 Aug 2019 07:41 AM PDT I know brother and sisters get into arguments or Fights every once and a while, but my older brother and I constantly argue. Even just talking to my mom he'll usually my take it a step further and Personally attack me or usually say some come back about me when I wasn't even talking to him or trying to be rude. Even when we were younger it wasn't as bad as it was but it still was bad. When I'd want something from him he wouldn't give it to me, So we'd settle on a deal and he'd end up manipulating me since I was gullible at the time. Then my mom would usually have to cancel off the deal since I'd complain about getting the short end of the stick. Just saying, he practically hates me for no reason and he mostly just verbally bullies me. Mostly my parents just say " Oh he's a teen " and I highly doubt that. The other day, when we went out to a restaurant and ordered our food, yet, somehow our friendly conversation turned into an argument. So he started saying comebacks to me and he got so angry that he said " I wish you didn't even exist! " And my dad got mad at him and we practically ended the conversation after my dad talked to him angrily. He acts like a spoiled Child and sometimes I even question if things would be the different if our Zodiacs changed. My brother is an Aries and I'm a Taurus and I've heard Aries and Taurus don't get along and usually make enemies with each other. Well thanks for reading this Though, And I hope you have a nice day. |

Question: Is My Dad a Neckbeard? Posted: 12 Aug 2019 07:25 AM PDT - He is an atheist libertarian - He uses terms like "tickle my fancy" and other phrases you'd hear in the late 1700's. - He thinks that he's VERY intelligent, but he won't outright say how intelligent he thinks he is. - He repeats the things he hears on Fox News to his mom and dad so they'll think that he is v smart. - He reads the headlines on CNN and considers himself "well-informed" -He will get into a full-blown debate with the Jehovah Witnesses that come to our door. - He gets into debates on the YouTube comment section and gets obliterated bc he kinda doesn't really know what he's saying. Sometimes with MY ACC. - He considers himself a "nice guy." - He gives his point of few in this annoying matter-of-a-fact I-am-right-do-you-hear-how-smart-I-am tone. - He thinks that he's someone from the 1700's. Pretty sure. - Just because he knows who Mozart, Bach, Beethoven, and Debussy are, he considers himself a classical music enthusiast. Other than knowing that violins and pianos exist, I honestly don't think that he knows anything else about classic music. HOWEVER - He is not horribly fat - He does not own a fedora - He does not watch anime - The only video game that he's playing playing for straight-up years is Far Cry. - He isn't into Japanese culture - He dresses presentably in public |
Question: I think my sister is hot? Posted: 12 Aug 2019 07:02 AM PDT You know, I do like to spy on my sister, but I'm not sure if she's my step or half, if she's my step-sister that would be weird, but if it was half I might be ****** up from that. But she's hot though. |
Posted: 12 Aug 2019 06:28 AM PDT I learn to love her like Jesus would without getting annoyed at her? She also says that Target has a good bathroom policy . I wish she didn't make fun of people just because they disagreed with her |
Question: Would you disown your parents if they're poor? Posted: 12 Aug 2019 06:24 AM PDT That's exactly what I did. I came from a family who made very little money and lived in a cramped run-down apartment. My parents raised me on welfare for a lot of my childhood. When I reached adulthood, I moved out, got a job, went to college, ended up with a great career and never talked to them ever since. I am now married to my wonderful husband and we are more financially stable than ever. I would never forgive my parents for being so irresponsible. I still talk to my siblings though. They still live with my parents unfortunately. |

Question: What should I do I don’t want to be dramatic? Posted: 12 Aug 2019 05:10 AM PDT This random account started messaging me on snapchat, then he started asking me for nudes I politely said no and just left it at that. But then he starts asking me again and again and it's starting to be a bit harassing. I was about to block him then he sent me this picture of some random girls nudes saying he was going to send it to my friends and family if I don't send him anything. I wasn't worried because firstly there not going to know any of my family and secondly this girl looked nothing like me. But then I got really worried when he started to name ALL my family. My mum, dad, brother, aunt, uncle cousins. This freaked me out majorly. I obviously reported the account several times and it eventually got taken down. But then they keep making new accounts and adding me. I keep reporting them and blocking them. But I'm starting to get worried. |
Question: There is in fighting and conflict in my mother’s family, how do I stay safe? Posted: 12 Aug 2019 04:39 AM PDT My mother and father want me to align with them and they've always used me this way and feuds. Meanwhile my aunt is trying to come to me for secrets about everybody and my other aunt uses me as a sounding board. The uncle is drunk all the time so we generally avoid him but when I see him he's fine. How do I stay safe from all these people trying to use me? I hate it when they do this as my mom and dad I've done it my whole life. Excuse any grammar errors I'm talking into my phone. |

Question: Please help with gift ideas for my 70-year-old father!? Posted: 12 Aug 2019 12:16 AM PDT I can never find a gift for my dad. He's at the point in his life that he buys whatever be wants when he wants it which makes him IMPOSSIBLE to shop for. Last year for Christmas I flew a flag over the Capitol in honor of his father. I found a beautiful way to frame the certificate and a picture. I found a nice display box for the flag as well. When he opened it he almost cried. Does anyone have ANY ideas for something meaningful I could do this year? He is an Army veteran (he was an Army Ranger) who loves reading, his country, his community and yard sales. He is also a bit of a prepper. Beyond that he doesn't have too many hobbies. I know this is a weird question to ask strangers, but I was hoping that maybe there were some vets who had an idea of something meaningful I could do similar to the flag. Books and gift cards for books are getting old and I'm hoping to find something that will show him how much I love him. Thank you! Sincerely, Bewildered (but loving) Daughter |
Question: Why does my mom and sister hang with such women? Posted: 12 Aug 2019 12:14 AM PDT My mom and my sister hangs with a selected bunch of women that carries the same attitudes and traits. The women tends to be the 'mess with me id beat you up type bullies' they tend to be butched and appear like they box. They tend to have an attitude whenever I get around them. They have a disgruntled hatred towards the white Caucasian male although they strangely date and marry white men, but treat their spouses like dirt. They have a family that would 'come after somebody' |
Question: How to get my religous parents to let me buy a Metal T-Shirt? Posted: 11 Aug 2019 09:32 PM PDT I really want to buy this great metal shirt I found online, however my parents won't let me buy it even with my own money. They say it's a bad thing to wear a shirt like that as It seems like I'm promoting a real negative message that is satanic or whatever(lol the shirt I want isn't even anti religion or anything), when I see other people wear similar shirts when I go out and I tell them it's not even that bad. Since I got a few younger siblings they say I still shouldn't buy it since it might influence them, yet I play M rated games that my siblings have seen me play countless times and they're fine good behaving kids. I'm not sure what else to say to them, I'm a nice person that recieved B's last school year, and I'm on good terms with everyone I know. |
Question: My family doesnt seem to care about my mental health? Posted: 11 Aug 2019 08:55 PM PDT I feel I have social anxiety (Since I match all the symptoms and have been told ita probably social anxiety). I have a plethra of things not ok with me and that dont feel right (Im basically the cheesyist "broken" movie character you can think of). It took absolutely forever to open up about to anyone that isnt my family or the people that could actually get me help and I was only really using the social anxiety portion to find a way into help, thinking maybe I could open up more to a medical professional. So, during a recent visit to the doctor I brought ir up with the doctor who relayed o my mother (My grandmother is my legal guardian) I could be evaluated by the state and get help if I really needed any. We brought this up with my grandmother who quickly dismissed it saying "If I think you need help, Ill get you help" and "Could you imagine if they were snooping into our lives, it'd be a mess". I said l feel I need help, to which the same points were brought up and my other family even chimed in saying "therapist are just expensive fake friends". Is there a way I could show my family I really do need help or at least want to be evaluated or is this a normal thing? |
Question: How do I cut off family members even though I live with them? Posted: 11 Aug 2019 08:50 PM PDT Some siblings are just ruining my life and I'm just done. I don't wanna hear another piece of crap about their life, I don't wanna give advice that is not even used, I don't wanna be around when something bad happens so I could say "I told you so" (I wouldn't be around to say that though but they will know) I just cannot take this. I am close but so freaking different with them. What do I do? We live in the same house and I cannot move out just yet. |
Posted: 11 Aug 2019 08:38 PM PDT I want to hear your opinion. My partner and I split almost every bill 50-50 but couple things are making me uncomfortable and I want to hear people opinions . I make 100k a year she makes 85K a year, we own the house together, she has a 13 years old son with a different father and she gets 1300 dollars a month from his father for child support. She uses that money as part of her income. My question is, is it fair with me if she pays only 50 percent of groceries, utilities, clothes for him and everything else in the house even though she gets the child support money to pay for the kids expense? The other question is, I bought a car to be a family car a year ago with my own money, (I paid 100 percent ). Every maintenance on that car we split 50-50. Now she wants me to pay half of her car payment because I end up using her car a few time a week. Is it fair? I'm not American and really want to understand how things work here. Thank you RR |
Question: How to avoid familial conflict and am I in the wrong? Posted: 11 Aug 2019 08:35 PM PDT Whenever I talk to my family it seems to end in an argument. It's to the point where I avoid most if not all conversation with my family because we argue. Its usually because my family gives me the basic response, "because we said so". For example, schools going to start back up and I feel, being 16, that I should have no sleep schedule if any due to the fact I always come close to what my family currently insist I go to sleep at (10 PM). I currently get home at 3pm and since i'm switching schools i'll now be getting home at 5pm due to transport meaning I wont have enough time to get work done. So I approached my family asking it to be changed to 12 pm since, they respond with "No, its late" and when I ask how and try to further explain they simply respond with "because I said so". I try to persist and eventualy sent off because I "don't respect them" which then turns into an argument. How should I avoid things like this and am I "disrespecting" them somehow? |
Posted: 11 Aug 2019 08:27 PM PDT Due to bad blood in the family they may try to get my uncle, the bride's father, to think I can't make it. As a result the uncle won't ask me. Yet, I don't want to be rude and ask them to invite me in advance in case they are not planning on it. I am afraid though as noted that since my parents will likely say they can't make it due to travel then they will make it sound like I am traveling with them. What do I do? I don't have to resolve it tomorrow but thought I'd ask while on here. My parents resent that I am nice to this part of the family. |
Question: Is it okay for my daughter to wear a training bra in place of a shirt? Posted: 11 Aug 2019 08:00 PM PDT The last few weeks have been really hot and my 11 year old daughter has been walking around in just a training bra, no shirt. This is just at home though, when she steps outside the home she'll cover herself with a tank top of course. She usually wears a skirt or shorts, but sometimes it's just the bra and underwear. Quite often when she goes up to her room she takes the bra off and lounges on her bed watching TV and whatnot. She usually leaves her door open so yes we see her topless if we walk by, but I think that since she's not parading around the house like that she's fine. She does walk from her bedroom to the bathroom topless and most definitely sleeps that way. As her mother I see nothing wrong with her wearing just a bra, sometimes topless at home. What are your thoughts and as the parent how would you deal with the situation? Personally I see no problem with it as her chest hasn't really started to develop yet. |
Question: Can anyone steal and be evil? Posted: 11 Aug 2019 06:33 PM PDT I thought only rich people or people with power could do bad things but I met and heard many poor or middle-class people do much worse things than the wealthy. I know people they are poor or middle class they cheat and lie a lot. |
Posted: 11 Aug 2019 06:05 PM PDT My daughter with ADHD notices that I treat her differently from my 2 typically developing sons. She gets upset about it and won't let go of this topic. The reality is that my sons don't struggle with the same problems that she has. During her earlier years, she had behaviours that made it harder to raise her but I still managed. I love all my children equally but for her, the way I parent will be a little different. |
Question: Sex with step sister? Posted: 11 Aug 2019 05:48 PM PDT So I want to have sex with my step sister. My mom and her dad actually recently just got divorced from being married for 5 years but she comes over once every couple months to help me with school stuff and she's always saying how handsome I am and she's really hot. I'm going into my first year of college in a month and she just graduated college a couple months ago. She's coming this week to help me with school stuff and my mom is away for the week what should/could I do? |
Question: My father gave me his 5 year old Mercedes but I'd rather have his new Lexus? Posted: 11 Aug 2019 05:25 PM PDT Why won't he give it to me? |
Question: Should I fix my father? Posted: 11 Aug 2019 04:04 PM PDT If a parent came back into your life after a decade of not speaking to you, would you try to repare the relationship? My father abandoned me when I was 10 and recently came back after trying to sue my mom fo back dated child support (and now, trying to get out of paying for my college). He's acting like nothing ever happened, that he abandoned me, that he was a drug addict. I'm SO confused because I know what he did and what he was capable of. Should I be the bigger person and try to repair the relationship? I'm just worried it will get more complicated and that he will hurt me and do even more damage. Sorry if this question makes no sense |
Question: Is it wrong not to cook/do laundry for relative you’re living with? Posted: 11 Aug 2019 03:46 PM PDT I'm living with a somewhat older person. There are stipulations to me residing with them that I keep. I clean around the home, medications, & grocery shop, & other things. Never been an issue with that. I also work full-time and have made it very clear that I am not a caregiver. Recently, they asked me to start doing their laundry, & I declined. For the time being, their clothes are hand washed until our washer and dryer are fixed. In the mean time, I walk my clothes to a laundromat which is difficult. Once our appliances are fixed, I have told them that I have no problem bringing their clothes up/downstairs for them since walking a flight would be an issue , however I'm not folding, putting away, etc. I've also been ordered to eat better and cook by my doctor very recently. So I cook now. They typically has cold cuts, other prepared items and often has nutritious meals delivered so it's never been an issue. They haven't complained about my cooking or asked I do it for them. Additionally, I pay for my own groceries, so it'd be another expense to cook for another person. They also are the kind of person who is entitled. If I do something for them I know they'll expect it on a regular basis which is why I don't typically do "extra" things because I feel unappreciated and I don't want to become expected to take on a caregiver role or caregiver duties I did not sign up for. I have no issues helping around the house, but I'm not going to take a caregiver role, am I wrong? |
Question: Is my mom right to be angry at me? Posted: 11 Aug 2019 03:40 PM PDT My mom is schizoaffective, on disability. I, 26, only lived with her for the first year of life until she was in and out of mental hospitals throughout my life, then grew up with my dad. Her and my sister, 37, hardly speak. She was a two year old but our mom has only met him once. They fight all the time, my sister has been through therapy and has mostly cut her out. Well, my mom got her grandson some Christmas presents but still hasn't seen him. She gave them to me a month ago when I was going to visit my sister who was having people over but I didn't bring them because I forgot and also thought it might might embarrass her if I gave her presents from her estranged mom and make me feel awkward. Well, I saw my sister again yesterday and my mom told me to bring the presents, but I forgot again. I was more dreading seeing my family because I feel awkward around them and forgot the presents. She absolutely freaked out saying "forgive my father Jesus Lord have mercy" and yelling at me saying I need to make the 45 minute drive to deliver the presents. She called me screaming today saying "you people hurt me so bad" and that "we all cut her out" and was screaming saying that she was going to pick up the presents and mail them. I think she is overreacting? I feel like she put a chore on me meanwhile she is jobless and has all the time in the world to take the presents or try to see her grandson and mend relationship with my sister. |
Question: There is in fighting and conflict in my mother’s family, how do I stay safe? Posted: 11 Aug 2019 03:24 PM PDT My mother and father want me to align with them and they've always used me this way and feuds. |

Question: Was I wrong in refusing to have dinner with my mom, and her boyfriend? Posted: 11 Aug 2019 02:35 PM PDT I'm 25, and live in my mothers house, due to certain circumstances. She told me early she was cooking ribs, and potato salad for dinner. Well, I guess she was planning having her boyfriend over for dinner. I'm not a big fan of him because hes always drunk when he comes over, and get her drunk (she already has a drinking problem). Anyway, dinner was ready. So I went, and got my plate, and went back to my room, to watch a movie. My mom comes in and says why dont you come and eat, and visit with us? I just said because I dont want to. She rolled her eyes, and said whatever, than slammed my door. After she walked down stairs I heard her scream whatever! It's just like she tries putting me in these uncomfortable situations. I realise it's her house, and her rules, but come on. Was wrong for not wanting to take part in this awkward, and uncomfortable dinner? |
Question: My Parents forced me to eat moldy food and grounded me because I threw up.? Posted: 11 Aug 2019 01:48 PM PDT My parents bought a creme caramel and told me to eat it, but the caramel layer on the top of the creme caramel was moldy and grey, so I asked not to eat it. They told me that if I didn't eat it they would starve me and ground me, so I ate it... then threw up. Later, my dad told me I needed to help him construct a cabinet with my younger brother and they both kept bringing up that I was "not being flexible" and that "i would fail in life" because I threw up, which I don't understand. When I tried to explain to them that I don't think caramel turns grey unless it's moldy, they told me I'm useless a grounded me. My dad said other stuff like "nobody will want to work with you" which I don't understand, and my brother kept provoking me into explaining myself. What should I do? |
