I know it happens a lot for people, in which friendships drift apart, grow apart from each other with age, the friendship fizzles out, they lose touch. Let's say one of these people, attempts to reach out to one of their old friends they haven't spoken to in many years, but yet their old friend refuses to speak to them, doesn't want to reconnect with that person. What are common reasons why someone doesn't want to reconnect with an old friend? is it normally because they now hold a grudge towards that person or have something against them?

Is this (below) something you would say to a friend/someone you cared about? Someone said this to me - do you think that they are my friend? No one deserves to be bullied. You do have friends, as I'm your friend and don't forget that. I'm always here if you need to talk. Don't let what people did in the past hurt you now. You just keep working hard and show all them pompous people what you are really made off. I'm sure you will go far, you just need to believe in yourself :) I'm sure people don't hate you. I don't and I will always be here to talk to. You will be successful, you just need to believe in yourself.

Follow up. A friend of mine is starting swimming with me on Monday and I'm feeling a bit shy about my swim trunks. But this friend and I have known each other for a few years now and have seen each other in various states of dress down to naked. Given that, is it weird that I'm so shy about the swimming trunks? Why am I?

My friend has only known this kid for a week, but she's been clinging to him and not talking to any of her other friends except him. I'm not sure if they're dating or not, but it's really bothering me. I'm just another face in the crowd now... I don't have any other friends I'm close to other than her and I'm really lonely. Things have been very hard for me lately and now I have to deal with this on top of all the other things in my life. I always catch her staring at me from a distance, but she only says "hi" occasionally now. Her and this kid hung out with each other at our school's first football game of the year and hung out this weekend too. I'm really lost and I don't want to lose her, but as of right now, I'm losing hope on our friendship. I may seem petty or jealous, but any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Ok so I moved towns 3 years ago.I had to start my 8th grade year in this new middle school with no friends.At my old school I had lots of friends which I had known since elementary but I also went through some bullying which really ruined my self esteem (classmate bullies). I've never been able to forget them telling me how ugly I was.I would go home and cry.Back to 8th grade I had some people tell me the same things and eventually made friends which were fake.Freshman year I finally made some friends.They're ok.I now started my jr year and still hang out with them.I have no self esteem at all and I feel like everyone thinks I'm hideous no lie. I get extreme anxiety I can't talk to people I don't normally talk to not even teachers. If they talk to me of course I'll respond but I can't ask them about things. When I say my self esteem is at 0 it really is.This year I got few classes with my friends and it's so hard because I feel so stupid being alone. I feel like everyone thinks I'm a weirdo. Its so hard to talk to others I just feel like they won't like me. I've tried talking to a therapist and hated it.I also don't trust the counselor I feel like she's so fake.I can't move schools because I don't drive yet and my parents have work. Things just haven't been the same and I really wish I could go back with my middle school friends despite the bad.I already tried to change my schedule but they wont let me.I would rather homeschool at this point but Idk how to get started.

I'm 17 and I'm about to start 12th grade at my school the first week of September. These 3 guys have been making my life a living hell for the past year and a half. They're all on the football team and very physically and mentally abusive. I have no clue why I'm their target. I'm a very quiet, shy, humble guy who never bothers anyone. They torment me, chase me down the halls and I have to lock myself in a bathroom stall. Last year they threw me in the garbage dumpster behind the school during gym class. They tripped me in the cafeteria as I was walking by their table and I spilled my food everywhere and everyone laughed at me. It's not just me, they bully my best friend too. We walk home together and they follow us and taunt us. They have a huge gang mentality and they're making our lives miserable. We can't tell anyone because they said if we do, they'll know and will kill us. One of them messaged me online the other day and said "Can't wait to see you again!" real tauntingly . I never did anything to them. I'm a real humble guy who never bothers anyone. I want to join the Marines after high school but these guys are ruining my life. What should I do? Scrupulosity is religious OCD and it involves being obsessed with moral behavior. A symptom of it is excessive prayer. I used to do these long prayer rituals but I managed to stop that. I went to a Christian Fundamentalist School until after 3rd grade. I'm not against religion but am against Fundamentalism. I remember from the middle of 7th grade until not long after I graduated my dad dated a woman who was wild. My parents had been divorced for some time and I stayed with my mom and went to my dads every other weekend. I remember this woman would come in drunk some Friday nights or Saturday nights and they would be fighting so hard. One time in school I remember hearing a teacher (a teacher a lot of kids liked) say he never had a desire to touch alcohol. Before then I think I might have decided I would drink but not until I'm 21. Whenever I found out someone drinks I almost look down on them and I have to fight the urge to. I don't want to look down on people who drink. I know you can still be a nice person and drink alcohol. I just want to make myself see that. What do I do?

So, I'm a 21 year old guy. I work the cash register of a grocery store. I'm building a career with this company. And I hope to manage one of these stores one day. Here's the deal. I'm single, I work all the time, and a LOT of girls my age come into the store. I want to ask girls out, but I'm bearing the name of my company while I work. And our society is so messed up I could get a complaint from one of the girls for "harassment" if she decided she didn't like it. I want a smooth way to ask out a girl in this situation, but I don't want to end up on Fox News. Or get in trouble with my boss. Any ideas on how to word it so I can't get in trouble? Sometimes I will hit it off with a girl and I want to ask her out so bad.

I've been swimming for ages, and my kit is basically goggles and some short legged swim trunks. They're essentially on the level of underwear with bulging and being fairly unimaginative in key areas. A friend of mine has asked to join me on Monday though so I'm wondering if I should change for some board shorts or something with more give to save any embarrassment? Or should I just wear my normal trunks and see how we go?

I looked him up from a friend phone and saw that he blocked me. His page was previously open and I was able to see his friend list from another page, but now he's hidden his friends list too. I recently told him to block a female that he has knows since his marriage ended about 5 or 6 years ago. I found out by looking through his phone that the same woman who he calls his best friend, he been saying that she's sexy asf. He asks her if she okay. He's also in school, so maybe about three weeks ago he left out to go to school and messaged her on Facebook as soon as he walked out of the door. I found out because he left his Facebook open and I looked through his messages. I was literally on the internet to go grocery shopping online and his Facebook popped up. I clicked on it because I saw that when had been looking up another female who was telling him that she loves him two years ago, so I clicked on the Facebook. His page was open. Basically the woman who he has known for years is planning to come to his graduation to celebrate with him. They've actually made plans. He says he doesn't want to get her in trouble by me.I was always able to see my boyfriends friend list and the females friend list too and that's how I found out they were mutual friends. It's funny nw that both of their friend lists are hidden, and he still had me blocked. I don t know I he wants me to see his his friendship with her so he blocked me to add her so I won't be able to see that he friends with her.

Can't remember every situation but here's 4. 1. I walk into my math class I feel tention between me and my friends boyfriend who has been known to do bad things to girls, I felt like a negative vibe between us but not bad because we've never talked before. I felt the vibe, then when my math teacher said she was gonna use a computer generator to make groups of 3, I KNEW I would be in the group with him. That's exactly what happened 2. I was in the car and a kid from school was walking across the street going to school and he had a shirt on that said something club. It reminded me of a different club that gave out free things last year. I walked into school 4 mins later and there was the club giving me necklaces as I walked in. 3. I went to the mall and there was a raffle. I knew I was gonna win, 2 weeks later they called and I won. 4. my friend was doing something I made a joke saying her mom would walk in any second, my friend shook it off and laughed and right after that her mom indeed walked in I usually can guess what someone will say? But that's also kind of common sense. I can't predict like People's futures

I don't know how to begin this, but every friend of mine leave me in the end, I am a 14 year old male and I live in Sydney Australia, I was brought up in another country and I flew here when I was 8, I was year 3 back then, and I didn't have a lot of friends, in year 4 I made 2 new friends but they have to move because their parent find new jobs, this was the same for year 5. But in 6, after I made 2 new friends, we went to different high schools, at the end of the year and we nearly don't stay in touch anymore, in year 7, I tried to befriend a lot of friends and I finally found 1 very good friend, I thought this would be the end, but he switched high school at the end of year 8 because he got accepted into entering a better high school, I'm now in year 9 and I am tired of all this, I said I had a lot of friends but I don't know if they treated me like one because I never get any texts from them, the last text I got asking me to go to the mall with them was around 3/4 year ago. I thought about this for the last few weeks, but just yesterday, (I'm not gonna go into too much detail) my little sister's friend were chatting with me while she was in her room with her other friend, we first played cards and then we told each other jokes and honestly I felt she had brought back memories of my past because the last time I was this happy and laughing this hard was when I was in year 6, idk why but I feel really empty on the inside now, can someone advise me what to do?

Every time my cousin brings him to the family get togethers, this person is "joking" yet insulting me. He's from the Middle East so I'm not sure if they brought him up to act disrespectful towards women. But that's how he is. And I'm not saying that's how all middle eastern men are but I wonder if that's what his culture has influenced him to do. Either way, people tell me not to take his direct/indirect shade because that's his personality. Well, personality or not, I don't care. You don't go into someone's house and disrespect them. How can I avoid him disrespecting me in the future? Now a days I feel the need to leave my own house when he's here so I don't have to be rude and make a big scene because this guy is being a jerk. Basically I'm avoiding the problem. How do I stand up for myself without going overboard? He's the kind of person who's always trying to make me look or feel stupid, yet if he was so smart he would know that you don't do that to someone in their own house.

So last year my junior year I transferred to a private school. I'm a really outgoing person overall, but the last year at my new(ish) school has been kinda rough. It's very cliquey, and everyone for the most part is super sweet, and i have a ton of acquaintances, however, the entire school basically runs on these "friend groups". When I first transferred, this girl invited me to sit with her and her group at lunch, and I did. I also came to this school not knowing anyone. So anyways i went through basically a whole semester sitting with them and not being included in any of their conversations at all. Whenever I would chip in something to the conversation theyd just kinda go with it for a second but I immediately felt like I was intruding and it was just awkward overall. I then made close friends with this one girl who's kind of in the same position as me and we're really similar. So once we made friends I started sitting w her in the library at lunch. This past summer we hung out a couple times, but she was really busy and was out of town a lot. Today was the first day and since I'm not a shy person at all I just feel so out of my element sitting in the library and whatnot. I just feel like everyone sees me as that transfer girl and not for how I really am. I have people that I talk to in classes and such but the "friend groups" are much deeper than that. I hope all of this makes sense i know it probably seems weird but i really feel out of my element and i need some advice
