I'm in a long distance relationship, been going strong for 6 months. I've always known her dad was abusive and controlling. Part of it is their religion (they are Muslim), and part of it is just him being an asshole. She can't look good going out of the house, makeup, hair down, etc. I've come to terms with some of it. She is in college now and is studying to be a Neurosurgeon. She has gotten financial aid to pay for books, laptop, and a phone repair. Out of the $3,000 she had, she now has $1,837. Oh, did I say now has? Because she is having to give that money to her dad. He says it's "his money that the government gave him to use." He's scum of the Earth not letting her dress/wear makeup as she pleases, now he is taking $1,837 of her own financial aid because he is so delusional and believes it is his? She said her mother tried to reason with him but he cussed her out to the point she cried. She says she was a "valid argument" before trying to tell him it is hers. The money is in HER name. I believe she is just terrified if she doesn't give it to him something may happen. I don't think he would physically abuse her, but verbally abuse her and kicking her out of the house would be a possibility. I don't know what to do. I am so distraught over this. She won't do anything and I can't do anything. In the Spring she is getting $5,000 and she says he isn't getting any of it. I'm sure he will, because she is scared to try to argue with him. If you ask why doesn't she live on campus, her dad is paying for her college. She explained it to me perfectly, but I've now forgotten. Something about, if I don't live at home, he'll take the money away and I'll be in debt. He is holding her hostage. She said her dad wanted her to commute when she transfers to a college that's an hour away from her house. Her goal now is to get scholarship funds, while not giving her dad any, and save that money to buy an apartment when she transfers in 2 years I plan on working and going to college in the Spring. Hopefully once I'm out I'll be able to live with her and she'll be as far away from him as possible. I am just wondering if there is anything I can possibly do to make this go away? I'm hopeful there is something I can do. I can't watch as someone I loved is this abused and controlled. (also she can't date and she is 19. She is going against Mr. Scum, and I'm proud of her.)

Having humiliated himself, he drove off, but I was sweaty and angered that I went to his house and told his wife about the affair. She didn't believe me at first, but then broke into tears. I just had a dream with this guy. He's very charming,has an unfragile ego coupled with a handsome face. He's in fact probably a psychopath. He has very stalking, especially when I was alone around high school, obviously it was his sense of entitlement telling him that I should approach him(scary as hell). When my brother was 15 he had the freedom t9 do whatever he wanted. When my sister was 15 she had the same thing going. But with me it's "you may be on electronics for 20 mins then that s it". I get that there's a time where theres too much electronic time, but 20 mins is just being mean.
