This has nothing to do with her being in her mid 90s my grandma has always been a control freak she was the youngest of two children and had a brother that was 10 years older . I have been married twice my first husband left and afterward told his brother that the main reason he left me in the child that we had together was because he got tired of she and my mom controlling him and telling him how to run his life . Now she does it to my second husband, she is always talking down to him like he's a child and telling me to abuse him into kick him out of the house and to punish him like a child and not to tolerate his disrespect and Mis behavior . I am one of 3 boys in our house including my dad. We've only got one bathroom and we have always just worked around each other. Mum has her own time on the bathroom then it's basically a free for all. Whoever gets in the shower first has it, and anyone else just jostles for the sink etc. Then things just switch. As we're all working now, it's like this every morning Basically the line is drawn at taking a dump whilst there are others using the room. And my brother and I have unspoken understanding about shower wanking, which is never done with the old man around It's been like this forever and comes down to lack of time and money. It's the routine born of necessity and we just kick on I've never thought much of it, but I'm curious to know if this is rare or pretty common?

1. He constantly lies about everything, even about what doesn t matter, like what he eats for breakfast. 2. He drinks until he s drunk every night even though he has work the next day. 3. He stays up almost all night and calls me, expecting me to stay up talking with him for hours. During these calls, he pities himself. 4. He constantly makes offensive comments to the majority of female teens or women, even if they haven't done him anything. Although, he is overly sexual and inappropriate with the same women. 5. He seems to hate young, 19-29, successful women and seems to try to manipulate and destroy them. 6. He shows no sympathy or empathy for anyone but himself, not even me. He's cold hearted, but tries to present himself as a caring and sensitive human. 7. He's overprotective of his teen daughter and unnecessarily restricts her from being around males, even family members. My brother (33) and I are close and were raised in the same, healthy household. I am the only member of the family who he sees often. He has a stable employment, but his behavior seems too abnormal.

She always bitched and moaned about her brother denying their father was an alcoholic when people would ask in public and yet now that it is her son she denies in public he has drug problems and says he lives near his father when he is actually in jail for grand larceny. My Mom has privately confronted her son as I am sure her brother did to their father. Yet she is estranged from her brother over her bitterness about him not gossiping about their Dad but expects me to be like her estranged brother and keep secret my brother's failings (which I am happy to do). So is this enabling like she claims when her brother does it or is it privacy?

They didn't like me before because I was the offspring of my mother who they resented because their mother resented. All offspring of family enemies is enemies themselves is the philosophy of my Mom's family. However, my Mom died two years ago and my Dad, brother, and I are asked to this wedding and are going. It is the first I have seen them since my mother's funeral and one of them boycotted that. So how do I act so they will like me? She is very dismissive and not listening when I have something to share (a story, an idea or a problem) and seems to know it all which is very annoying to me because she already had an opinion even when I'm just halfway of what I'm saying (wtf). Ends up we're talking at the same time and I'm just forced to shut because I have to listen to her very off topic opinion. I mean come on, will you listen to me for a freaking minute so that you can understand what I'm really pointing out? So I just keep my problems to myself because obviously she's not a good listener, counselor and a loving person or does not know how to even express it. Emotionally unsupportive, instead she nags most of the time. It affects me on a different level because I'm starting to feel the same way and the negativity. That's why I never have the confidence to do anything with my life or even further my goals because of that. I have tried so hard to not to be affected but seems like I can't and I need love at some point. I'm tired on all of this. My older brother has always been a bit of a party boy. I am not that type of person. But we keep in touch and try to keep it civil. His best friend, that I have known for a long time, is getting married and I wasn't invited to the bachelor party. I got pissed at my brother and he got pissed at me. He said: "You're such a child. Ever since my mom's new boyfriend has moved in with us, its been nothing but drama. Nothing but constant arguments, causing me anxiety and depression. I dropped out of college bc I didn't know what I wanted to do with my life yet and her boyfriend has done nothing but use that against me. It has driven me into depression and I rarely leave my room now because of it. He's jobless, abusive, and think he has the moral ground over everyone. Hes an ex criminal who got kicked out of his last place and got fired twice for drinking on the job. I've never had to call the police EVER but ever since he's been here, Ive had to call them about 5 times. He even turned my mom against many times because hes manipulating her into thinking im the bad guy, when I do nothing wrong. I attempted to move in with my dad a few months ago but I never told him the scale of the drama so he thinks everything is minor and convinced me to just stay home and make up with my mom (he doesnt know my her boyfriend lives here). He hit and choked my mom many times and I tell her to kick him out and call the police and he says he's never coming back. He'll leave for a day and come back and convince her to take him back. The cycle continues. I want to get the heck outta here. Its seriously depressing me. Im not too close to my dad and was wondering how exactly do I approach him to let him to help me out of this house? Im at this point of just calling up all fam members and just begging to help me out of this house.

My friend's father was taken by ems labor day weekend and she was told that they made a report (took picture of the house). And that APS had been reported to. There is where she am getting confussed at (more thinking her family but not her dad wants her out of the house) is that the way the house is that is will be condemned for the shape it is in even though it is no where near a hoaders house. They both are against joining the army(neither want to fight, and they both said they don't want ptsd from it). I have had them both home schooled for 8 years, when they are done with home school next year I plan on kicking them out. I already feel very creepy being seen with them based on how old they are, I don't care at this point if they get hurt on the streets. I am not a "troll"(someone called me this) I am just a fed up father. I got angry that both my kids refused to walk 15 miles(5 hours twice a day) to go to town to look for work and to work 8 hours at a job. Since they refused that I ripped up the birth certificates and ssn's. Since, I do not plan on letting them go to college(my income determines that until they are 25 and I do not want to support their careers). And since I do not want to get them driving lessons, or teach them so they can find work and drive to it, the army is basically their only choice and they refuse to go. What do you think?

My 10 year old brother has been having trouble sleeping lately. Every night he gets up and goes into my parents room and gets one of them to come into his room. I am a good Christian man of God. I do everything he says and everything the Bible says. The Bible considers everyone 12 and up an adult, when my kids(17/18) were 12 I did not help them anymore I gave away all of their games and electronics, homeschooled them(by giving them books and I never taught them). Both my kids refuse to move out because they both refuse to walk as I never taught them to drive. God would punish me if I did as he does not want me helping anyone over 12. I ripped up my kids birth certificate and ssn's 5 years ago both refuse to walk 30 miles to get a job. Christians, i am not in the wrong?

I recently married a woman with 2 teens, 16 and 12 year old boys. They both like and respect me but they completely disrespect their mother, especially the oldest one. They have 0 responsibilities and their mother does everything for them. The 16 year old has access to her bank account, spends however much money he wants and monitors what she spends and will even yell at her and wont even allow her to download apps onto her own phone. The boys bully her sometimes too, for example she and I were talking and the 12 year old kept sticking things in her face and it was obvious she was getting annoyed but didnt make it stop, the younger one literally smacked her knee with a hard plastic object and kept doing it hard too. She finally stopped him when it hit a nerve. Now that I mentioned the issue, let me explain their past now.... Their father died, her youngest brother, her sister and both her parents died within a 5 year time frame when they were young leaving her a single mother for 10 years until i got involved. She absolutely can not tell them no or lecture them in any way because of her life and what she went through.. Now I'm a pretty mellow guy but i am big on respect and my question is, how do I as a step father to teenage boys involve myself in their development and future behavior towards their mother? Right now i am trying to be a good influence and male role model to these boys that desperately need one. But i want to do it the right way. Any suggestions?

I am a 25-year-old female. Right now, I am in between jobs in retail and my parents are highly disappointed in me. It all started after high school, I was getting good grades but didn't get accepted to a university - only a state school which I wasn't interested in. I went to community college for a while, applied again and didn't get in. After that, I completely lost all drive and have no passion for really anything. I do like the medical field, journalism or communications, and music. When I told my mom I really have no passion for anything, she was shocked. I am not good at anything and obviously too lame for university. I am not sure what to do and I understand life is going fast. She and my dad said they never dreamed about me going nowhere. I've always been extremely driven. She said I am not doing anything lucrative or meaningful for the future. I'm stuck in a crappy retail job. She even went as far as to talk about my brother who doesn't like school. She said she is not even worried about him because she thinks he will go places, such as moving higher up to a managerial status maybe in a retail company he is currently working for. I am very depressed about this and she says at my age I should be working from 8-5 full-time everyday and even married at this age. I told her I don't really care about marriage but I do understand the moving out part. I have some college (associate's degree). What can I do so my family is not ashamed of me?

My MIL has done disturbing things over the years and this is just something I cannot get past. It's straining my marriage for obvious reasons & I'm curious at what other women would do. It was my sons nap time. After argueing with my MIL about whether it was time for his nap or not i took my son to my room. Shut the door behind me and placed him in his crib while i showered. I kept watching the door but didn't lock it since it's common sense to stay out right? I finished my shower. Feeling relieved that I was just paranoid I went to check on my son. HE WAS GONE. I immediately went to the front room where of course she had him. I asked "why did you take him I told you it was time for his nap?" She replied "oh I thought I heard him choking and I didn't want him to die of sids" She does manipulative crap like this all the time but here's the thing. WHEN did she do it? I was watching the door the whole time pretty much. Then I remembered. When rinsing my hair I put my head under the water of the shower head. That was the ONLY time I looked away. Now I ask you how could she of known when the coast was clear and I was looking away 2go & grab my baby if she hadn't been watching me shower?? Another instance she came into our bedroom while my husband and I were not clothed just waking up & took him also?? As a wife how would you react towards your husband since he is the key to truly stopping this? My husband just looks shocked & says he's embarrassed and doesn't know what to say

Im 16 , soon to be 17 ,Ever since my grandmother ( her mom ) died in july of 2014 , my mom has been drinking more and more , saying she needs it to be able to handle day to day activities, such as cleaning, which shes always done without drinking beer up until the mentioned date . I cant even talk to my mom a whole lot anymore because shes always under the influence , she is always angry it seems . Every time we go out , she buys a 24 or 12 pack of beer . She will even say shes going to the store for groceries but comes back with beer . Things keep getting worse and worse . My mom even drinks while driving, with me in the car .I dont know what to do or what to say to deal with this ? Does she sound like a alcoholic? What can i do ? I dont want to get taken away from my mom ? What do i do ?

Question: How do I overcome the shame I feel that my Mom alienated me as a child from extended family due to an estate fight?

I was used as a weapon. I feel shame like it was somehow my fault. To some degree I know it wasn't but to another degree I feel I must be looked at as bad since I seldom saw my Mom's parents growing up or the rest of the family. I also feel shame that I believed my Mom's lies that they didn't love me or they would have treated her better. How do I overcome this toxic and obsessive shame I feel?

Don't get me wrong, I love and respect my dad very much. But I am getting honestly SICK and TIRED of him. It's like I'm living in a dictatorship or some autocratic city. So, I was having my door closed and locked doing my homework while listening to music. I unlocked it in case anyone knocked could just come in. He came in and then said he had called me 3 times for food. I apologized for not listening since I was more focused on my work and the earphones, but then he started telling me to not close and lock my door. I told him that it's not fair and that everyone needs privacy and I find it very difficult for me to work with my door unclosed, and then he stopped me and started yelling at me for no reason acting like some dictator. I'm getting so tired of this, he was even asking me about what music I was listening to. I never get any freedom. I can't even go outside much. I can't even play video games sometimes. I feel so limited and I feel like I'm living under a dictator. What do I do?

Alright. I'm 14, and I would like to move in with my Grandma. The reason for this is because my dad treats me, my mom and my brother horribly, he constantly yells at us and calls me and my mother fat slobs that are good for nothing except spending his money and making a mess. He gets infuriated over the littlest things and if something goes wrong in his life he finds some way to take it out on us. He is a low grade alcoholic, and when he feels like he "wants to be a good father" he tries buying our affection back. He refuses to get counseling and my mother won't get a divorce. My brother is 18 and as soon as he graduates he is moving out and leaving me behind. What should I do?

I live in an apartment, and there's these people who live right next door to us and their daughter is a little b**ch. She and her friends leave trash all over my porch and my back yard, picks flowers from MY garden and then denies it. I always have to yell at her that she needs to go trash her own side of the porch. And she gives me attitude, just like her mother. And when I have to get out to go somewhere, my neighbors are all sitting on my porch and I say "Excuse me." And they look at me and don't move out of the way! It's like they're trashy and they're proud of it.

So, a guy who i thought was my friend has been bullying me for the past 3 years. He started after i didnt do a lot of work in a group project, and we got a b so he blamed it all on me, when i did more work than another kid in our group. He keeps being a jerk, and always makes fun of me, but what annoys me the most is that when i fight back and insult him or anything he always changes up the story when he tells it to someone else, example; In class he kept calling me ching chong and rice noodle, so i called him a terrorist and said when are you gonna bomb the school, he got so offendedd he went to the teacher and told everyone i walked up to him and said he was a terrorist, and today when he wasnt allowing me to get my charger for my chromebook i just tased him in the rib, and he punched me twice, but when i walked away, he told everyone that i just hit him because he got the wrong charger, and that i was crying. I cant tell anyone, because hes kisses all the teachers asses till they think hes the perfect person, and he tryhards to be popular, hes extrememly nice to everyone but me and always says im stupid and calls me names, basically no teacher or person would believe me if i told them. only one friend tells him that he is being a jerk. He acts nice for about 2 seconds in a hour. Then hes a complete jerk. How do i deal with him. He Thinks hes some god, and that no one knows anything and he knows best, hes actually stupid though, how do i stop him.
