Question: Wedding guest attire? Should I even attend? Posted: 02 Apr 2016 10:53 PM PDT Hello! I need some advice? I am going to be a wedding guest at my boyfriend's sisters wedding sometime in May. Being so, I have already purchased my dress about a month ago. I bought a nice yellow (Jacquard? style) dress that hits right above my knee; and as it gets crazy hot in AZ, I figured that was a good length. I do not know my boyfriend's sister personally as she is never around, so I didn't receive a wedding invitation..so I am unaware of the color scheme...exact wedding date. Everything I have heard I have learned from my boyfriend. Unfortunately, he doesn't know many of the details either. Recently, he informed me (after I had already told him I purchased a dress for her wedding) that his mother suggested I buy a long dress because "everybody" was going to be wearing one. I do not have the expendable income to purchase another dress and returning the one I have bought is not an option. Frankly, I have been feeling hurt throughout the entire experience as I have been dating my boyfriend for 2 years now, and I feel as I have been treated as "just that girl" my boyfriend is dating whenever I am around his family. Along with those feelings, subtle rude comments by his mother have made me want to skip out all together. I know my boyfriend will be hurt if I don't go, but everyone else in his family seems to give off the vibe that I'm not invited. I guess what it comes down to is should I even attend the wedding? |
Posted: 02 Apr 2016 08:40 PM PDT we bought the dress from carolina traditions on reidville road, Spartanburg, sc, and we were told the dress was brand new. when i brought it to my dad (who has been tought how to sew stuff but no longer can because of his eyesight) he showed us SOOO many spots that needed fixing and what to look for in buying dresses. ... the store has a no return policy. ...help? |
Question: How can I incorporate cars into my wedding? Posted: 02 Apr 2016 07:16 PM PDT My fiance and I are planning a wedding and I want it to be a rustic/country wedding. But my fiance is BIG into chevrolet and insists on a car themed wedding....and I was trying to figure out ways to incorporate that into our wedding. Any suggestions? |
Question: Am I out dressing the bride? Posted: 02 Apr 2016 06:11 PM PDT I am attending the reception (the ceremony is out of state) of the wedding of my fiancée's ONLY coworker friend. I have not met either bride or groom. I was thinking of wearing a dress similar to this picture in a beige/gold (NON-bridal) with a more subtle but matching in color shawl. Is this too attention drawing or should I go with it to keep it formal? Question: Was he trying to size my finger or am I looking into this too much? Posted: 02 Apr 2016 05:46 PM PDT My boyfriend and I just got back from an amazing week long vacation. I feel like we bonded even more, and it reaffirmed our love for each other. One night, I looked over, and he was looking on the inside of my Pandora ring for a good few minutes. Then, he placed it on his pinky and twisted his hand as though he was sizing it. This ring happens to be one I wear on my ring finger. I'm just curious if anyone's guy did this before proposing? He's deploying this year, and I am wondering if maybe it will happen beforehand. |
Question: Baby Shower before the wedding? Posted: 02 Apr 2016 03:19 PM PDT My fiance and I have been together for 4 years and living together for 3. 8 months into our engagement we found out we were pregnant while planning the wedding. I want to have the baby shower before the wedding because i'll be 7 months pregnant at the wedding ( couldn't change the date). I will still be 25 weeks along for the shower and figure I will be more comfortable that way plus I hate doing events so I just want to relax after the wedding is done. We don't see a problem with having the shower then but fiance's family is harrassing us about doing it before the wedding because we won't be "married" even though we're paying for everything. Is it really that big of a deal? My family doesn't think so. |

Question: Would it be rude of me to not attend her wedding?!? Posted: 02 Apr 2016 02:33 PM PDT My cousin has never been to nice to me & ive always felt as though she did not care for me much at all. However, we are family & I spent every holida with her side of the family etc. On my wedding I felt it was only right & respectful to ask her & her sister to be in my wedding. Her sister had me in her wedding as well. My cousin doesn't want me in her wedding & never asked me to be a part of it. I know it may seem childish to be upset that I was not included & she can choose who she wants to be a part of her wedding but I'm quite insulted as is the rest of my family. Would it be rude if I chose not to attend her wedding? I worry it may cause a war within the family. |

I would really like to have a hashtag for it, but my fiancé do not think we can have one with the name Smallwood. Can someone prove him wrong? |
