I have a teenager at home who has big dreams of becoming an actress and an architect along with becoming an interior designer. She has always been excited about rearraging and decorating the rooms in our home and not one year has passed where she did not redecorate our entire house atleast twice. Me, my husband and our daughter recently moved into an upstairs apartment from out of state about 3 months ago and from the very beginning we've had issues with our downstairs neighbors. They tend to hit their ceilings quite a bit and get even louder when one of us stomps back (which we barely do). We've had two calls from management about 'our excessive stomping' but the other day we got a letter on our door from the manager stating that the office has received several more complaints about us saying that we're up all night, we stomp heavily when walking, that they are both repeatedly woken up in the middle of the night due to 'loud slamming' and they even complained about my daughter and I wearing high heels in the apartment. As I tried to explain to the manager that these people were just overly sensitive, she told me that they both came into the office with a so called activity journal where they write down all the noise we make and the dates and times that we do it along with recordings they taped on their phones of our supposed noise, the manager even went on to say that the neighbors claim they now have to wear earplugs to get any sleep. Our apartments are carpeted except for the kitchen and bathroom (Tile) so I don't know how they could be hearing as much as they claim they are. They've been living in their apartment for years so I highly doubt they'll be willing to move to an upstairs unit.
