Question: If you don t get married under your legal name, is your marriage valid? Posted: 02 Apr 2016 08:17 PM PDT My parents divorced 4 years ago and the judge ordered my mom to take her maiden name back. She never updated her info and was later remarried. Question: Stepson with an attitude? Posted: 02 Apr 2016 08:02 PM PDT Between having 6 boys and a husband my house can be pretty hectic sometimes but we still have rules and respect. My husband and a I have a blended family, he has three boys from a previous relationship, Evan is 17, Ryan is 13 and Jensen is 10. As well as we have three boys together, Landon is 7, Jackson is 4 and Bentley is 1. My husband and his ex wife have had a custody agreement since they divorced that they would rotate every other week since they are both in the same school district. The problem being when the boys go to their mom's house they don't have rules, they basically do what they want so when they come back to our house they have attitudes and don't want to listen, then by the time they settle back in its time for them to go back to their mom's. I know going back and forth between houses can be difficult on a child, so what can I do to make this easier for them and my husband and I? Any advice is welcome thank you. |

Question: We are going to marry in 6 months but recently my boyfriend told me about his past? Posted: 02 Apr 2016 07:54 PM PDT He told me that he had addiction in the past : First he was addicted to drugs (he told me that he tried many things from LSD to crystal meth). He said the reason at that time he broke up with his ex that he was deeply in love with and he used drugs to cope with the empty feeling. He quit after his parents found out about his addiction. Secondly he was addicted to booze, this time he was under peer pressure and he told me that he just want to be accepted by his new friends. My boyfriend told me that he has been sober for a few years now and nothing that I should be worried about . I accept his past because I know everyone has a past but to be honest I was worried that he would fall back to addiction in the future. I have friends like this and I saw them strunggle and be on and off their addiction especially when they face problems. The other reason is because I feel like he still doesn't live a healthy lifestyle, he sleeps in the wee hours in the morning and he smokes a lot and he is extremely thin that my friends thought he was an addict. I always urge him to eat because he has low appetite. I love him and I do care for him and I don't understand why he doesn't really care for his health. What should I do, he wants us to get married soon but I'm not sure. |
Question: New job away from wife and young children-I miss them badly. Any help to make it easier? Posted: 02 Apr 2016 07:48 PM PDT I took a much better job 7 hours away from my wife and 2 elementary school aged children. In the long run it will be better (more pay, better benefits, etc.). But, I will be away from them for 2.5 months, while the kids finish out the school year-then the wife and kids will join me. We are a very close unit that gets along well. It kills me to be away from them and not be a part of their daily lives. Sometimes it is difficult to talk or do FaceTime with them because It reminds me I'm not right there with them. I'm a grown man who has never been very emotional before, but this is killing me. My stomach is in knots and I have a noticeable grief feeling. With work and school driving home every weekend is not a practical option. Anyone gone through anything like this? Any suggestions? Thanks. |
Posted: 02 Apr 2016 07:17 PM PDT I broke up with long term bf that was headed nowhere because he didn't want to get married ( am a single mom of a 9 year old son) he didn't want complications in his life of marriage to me ( even though we dated for 7 years with no complications..) But now I find it hard to move on, it's been 11 months and 12 days... I always find myself stopping myself from sending a text to him or calling him or going to visit him ( it's worse that he lives just 4 blocks away !! What can I do to move on ? Or should I just tell him I want him back and it's ok if he won't marry me ? My problem is that, he was all to happy to marry his ex, and they only dated for like 5 months ! Advice please Singles and Dating is full of 13 year old kids who have zero life experience other than what to wear for school the next day, please leave the question in this category. |

Question: Why do I feel so bad after huge fight with my husband? Posted: 02 Apr 2016 11:29 AM PDT My husband and I got into one of the largest fights we ever had. I feel awful & was honestly scared he'd leave me. I know he wouldn't but I just felt nervous & very down about it. This may sound strange but I've always felt like no other married couples argue/fight ever. We have since made up but I still can't help but feel down about our argument/screaming match. |
Posted: 02 Apr 2016 10:51 AM PDT If he won't tell you where she and the kids are, should you call the police or what? Would it make more sense to complain of interference with visitation or the fact that she and the kids disappeared and you're afraid something might have happened to them? If you don't get the police involved, how can you prove she was gone? If you go to court about it, she might lie and say you never showed up. Especially if the court is biased against the father and more inclined to believe the mother. |

Posted: 02 Apr 2016 06:38 AM PDT I have a family member who's been separated and trying to get a divorce for 4 years. He put himself on child support prior to obtaining his first attorney. He's paid 2 attorneys prior to the one he has now-several thousands of dollars--she finally signed the papers, but now the attorney said the divorce won't be granted until she turns in her financial documents-pay stubs, w2 and also expenses. My family member gave her everything, a free and clear home with everything. 4 years and no progress except the attorneys continuing taking his money and piling on charges even after the asking price has been paid in full!!! The state is MS |
Question: Should i go back to my husband or stay with my current boyfriend of one year? Posted: 02 Apr 2016 05:53 AM PDT I fell deeply in love with my husband in 09 when i was 19 and he was 35. I thought he was younger he thought i was a little older. Long story short we fell madly in love with each other. I never loved anyone like i love him. But the truth is, he kept many details of his past a secret from me, and there were some things i suspected and he had many opportunities to come clean and be truthful about them but didn't because "he was ashamed of it". Anyhow, he had relapses and a jail term. During his first relapse i left him. When he went to jail i was there for him. He did the whole sweet talking sweet letters and i fell for them. We got married so quickly after his release. Less than 2 months later, he relapsed again and disappeared again. His mother constantly verbally abused me, harrassed me and even physically harmed me a few times. He cheated on me. Ok to make this long story short, we lost all respect for one another and did things to each other im not proud of. Last time he left me, i met my neighbor who is a great guy, has been an amazing friend, but has jealousy issues, an addiction as well, but hasnt left me. My husband now has been working a stable good paying job for a year now and has cleaned up alot gor promoted and wants me back. Hes been wanting me back for a year. I want to go back to him, but im afraid of us fighting again and my resentments towards him arising from out problems from the past. My current boyfriend is the type of man i like but i still love my hus. |

Question: Does he want marriage? Do we have the same life goals? Posted: 02 Apr 2016 04:17 AM PDT So i asked my boyfriend of 2 years what he thinks of marriage and if itll ever happen for us. we have 2 kids we have done it all *** up i guess but id like to be marries someday. he said the following "yes i want to marry you when all our bills and debts are paid off" (about 17 yrs then you could say) "i wont buy you a ring until i know what size" in 10 years i see us hopefully engaged or married" however thats the end of it and talking about marriage is so awkward around him cos he acts weird. he says its too soon and ive decided to just leave it and see what happens but my deadline in my head is 3 yrs. if what we want doesnt match then whats the point.. lifes short. i just want to know if he said these things cos he wanted to shut me up or if he meant them. i said to him the other day we most likely wont ever get married and he said why and i said cos we cant afford it and i said the worst thing would be is to push someone to marry u when they dont want it and he replied back "love you" help. |

Question: Why did my wife leave me but still keeps wanting me around some? Posted: 01 Apr 2016 11:27 PM PDT My wife wrecked our beautiful little family and divorced me to be with an old ex boyfriend who wrecked his family to be with her. He never filed for divorce. His wife finally filed on him four months ago. I never cheated, was never abusive, never looked at porn, worked hard (she had no job), and sacrificed so my family could thrive. All she said I was that I was a "good provider" and she was bored. But she still keeps wanting me to come do honeydos or have lunch and things like that even though she is obviously crazy in love with her old ex. Says she has nobody she can trust to do these things for her. She still lies about their relationship as if we're still married and it's still an affair. She tells me to move on but keeps a presence in my life. I want to reconcile so badly but I don't see any end in sight for her and her lover. I try so hard not to let this control me but I am going crazy. I thought about putting a belt around my neck. What do I do? Sometimes I just want to run far away. |
Question: Husband is physically and emotionally distant.? Posted: 01 Apr 2016 11:06 PM PDT My husband is in his late twenties and has mentioned about a month ago that he is depressed. He feels that work is the same thing day in and day out. He is three weeks away from graduating with his phD! He typically will touch me at night either by cuddling or at least sleeping close enough to touch. He hasn t done this since he stated his depression. He has been fairly cold to me and won t talk much. He hasn t hung out with friends much. He basically goes to work, school, comes home and plays video games until late at night. I play video games too and he rarely includes me. Doesn t ask if I want to play anything. I feel like I am putting forth all the effort to try to make him include me in his life, but I m growing tired of it. Sex once every two weeks if I am lucky. I am starting to feel bitter but I don t know what to do. No, I don t think he s cheating. Nothing has changed as far as using his phone more or anything like that. He answers his phone around me. I don t think that s even a consideration. Should I focus on myself and let him come around? |

Question: Do I have the right to upset over her confession? Posted: 01 Apr 2016 10:03 PM PDT My wife and I have been together 11 years. She recently revealed to me that 9 years ago, she was raped my a man I hired for some repair work. I noticed something was wrong, and assumed she had been cheating on me. I accused her for years, and always felt resentment. Now that I know the truth, I still feel that way. Why did she take so long to tell me? |
Question: How do I save my marriage feeling this way. Please help? Posted: 01 Apr 2016 09:54 PM PDT My husband and I are newlyweds and we have a beautiful healthy 8 month old baby girl sounds good so far, but! I can't deal at times with the fact that when my husband was 20 years old and in the military he got his ex girlfriend pregnant (he has a 6 year old with his ex) he left his ex after his daughter was born because he said he lost love for the baby momma after he got deployed to Afghanistan. My trouble has always been how can u just abandon someone like that and say "I don't love you anymore " like it's nothing given the fact he gave her a baby even though on his defense he states "it just happened i wasn't thinking I didn't want a family with her" now I'm struggling with the what if and did he really want to marry me? Now his ex is pregnant again and I feel since he never got to see her pregnant due to him deployed if he's going to feel something when he sees her now. There's a lot more but this is just part of what I've been feeling and it's affecting my marriage I've gone into major depression over it and it hurts because I feel now as if I can't even be intimate with my husband because I feel like he felt all this love he gives me at that moment he gave to her as well or if certain things remind him of her or something. Please help I can't seem to cope with something that may seem like a get over it he's with u now to the world type thing |
Question: What should I do in this situation? Posted: 01 Apr 2016 09:53 PM PDT The story is some girl my husband used to work said I wrote to her on facebook under a fake account to harrass her and call her names. It is all lies and when my husband asked me about it I said it isn't true. I never met her and don't even know her facebook. What I find puzzling is that she had the nerve to call my husband cursing him and threatened to show up at his job to fight him. He told her not to show up he will call the police. She never did show up. |
Posted: 01 Apr 2016 09:49 PM PDT A man and a woman date for 4 months. They never slept together, kissing was the max that they did. They dated exclusively. The woman broke up with him, then went back and asked him for another chance a few weeks later. He said no and they had no contact for 6 years. They had no history of being friends, they had only dated. For years this woman worked in a profession taking care of children. 6 years later the man contacts the woman. The man is married to someone else, the woman is single. He tells her his wife is very ill, possibly terminal and requests that she help take care of his children from his marriage. Inappropriate or fine, and why one opinion is that it's inappropriate because there's tons of other options for caregivers out there. He could easily have found someone else. The other opinion is that he wanted to find someone he knew would take good care of his kids |
