Ok, well, I'm having some bad personal issues and I think I need some help/someone to talk to, but I don't want to tell my parents, because they're already worrying about so much, like my brother in rehab, and my dog that needs surgery (she might not make it) and I feel selfish for feeling the way I do. These issues are seriously causing me a lot of stress and pain, but I don't even know if I should tell them. So, should I? If yes, how? Thanks in advance.

I currently live with my girlfriend and her parents. Her dad has been on medical leave for about 2 months. He's going to start getting disability at the end of the month. He has asked me for my social security number, so I gave it to him. I asked him why he needed it and he said he was to try and figure out if I get disability also because I've been on medical leave due to staph. He's however demanding that he get some of the money because if he never brought it up I wouldn't know about doing it in the first place. He says he doesn't work for free. He constantly uses my internet that I pay for. What do I do in this situation? This is more of a rant and I find it stressful. Most of the money he gets he blows on weed and lottery tickets.

Okay, so i am getting really pissed off at the situation. Ever since August, beginning of the school year, my girl cousin is in 3rd grade, my grandma has absolutely no discipline whatsoever. She LETS my cousin stay up ON SCHOOL NIGHTS til whenever she wants , usually no earlier than 11pm Then school comes. Since august my cousin has either been late of missed school cause my grandma gives her the choice whether she wants to go to school or not. She goes to sleep at 11pm, SUPPOSED TO be at school at 8:30am, she literally doesnt even wake up til 9am. My cousin has either been late or missed school 50 days this year. she is so spoiled, she stays up all night on the damn tablet. Even when she misses school, my grandma lets her stay home and play games and go on the tablet. My cousin on average WHEN she does go to school is getting in 5 hours of school PER DAY and 8 hours of tablet time. I have absolutely NEVER seen her do homework once. As soon as she gets home, throws her backpack down and fist thing she grabs in the tablet. What are the consequences my grandma could face for this?

My parents adopted a kid who I absolutely despise. He is supposed to be a brother but he doesn't look or act anything like me. When I told my parents I wanted a sibling I meant a real one. Anyways, because I dislike him so much I do anything I can to make him miserable. For instance, one time a friend came over to my house that happens to be gay. He and my "brother" got along pretty well. So I told him when he left that my brother was saying awful homophobic comments about him talking about how gross gay guys are. And he actually believed me. The next time he saw my brother, my brother tried to say hi to him and he wouldn't even answer. I was laughing my *** off inside because my brother acted all confused but I knew exactly what happened. One time he also borrowed something from my parents and then put it back where it belonged. I decided to hide it so it would look like he lost it and he got in big trouble. My parents yelled. Just little things like that to make him miserable I enjoy doing. Can you think of any more ideas similar to the ones above?

My parents both think I'm some horrible bully to my brother. All I do is the typical stuff that's part of my job as the older sibling. Everyday I steal his candy, treats, and occasionally clothing. I eat his treats (it gives me extra food) and I just steal his clothing just for fun 😆. I also call him dummy stupid and fat a lot just to piss him off. He cries, but it's just an older sibling thing. I also love pinning him down and sitting on his face sometimes. Again he cries and screams but....older siblings 😆. She soon left to college and i stayed home. We broke up but remained friends. We'd still talk but only through social media. I'm a Lebanese(muslim) male thinking about asking a girl out, but my parents would be extremely against it. My parents are against dating in general, but considering she's Chaldean(Christian), they would have many problems with it. My parents have already told me they are against Chaldeans, and the race and religion being different would be crazy to them. I am afraid that, as it is in my mother's family, I will miss out on a relationship with much of my Dad's family because he and his brother are in a conflict and I am seen as representative of my father. When my mother and her siblings fought this happened and I missed seven years but then I was a kid, now I am an adult. My older sister caught her husband having an affair with me while living with them. She kicked me out that day. And she begged him to take her back. He then told her nothing was ever going to happen. a couple days later he starts calling and texting me again (sexual) saying he misses me and wishes we wouldn't have got caught. on Christmas he wishes i was with him instead of her, told me they were co parenting and they had no physical or emotional connection anymore.. I am a guy and the youngest in my family and I know it is expected that older brothers will be protective of the youngest sister. However I am a guy and my brothers sometimes treat me just the same. So I was on a app called ifunny, and a really long story that is shortened I got in a stupid internet fight over consoles, I wasnt being serious but the troll that I was talking too was. it is a big time troll as it says things like I wont give up "trolling him" and yet I havnt said anything. When I was sleeping all night I told him Im not going to waste time talking to something like him and all night he commented on my profile, made fake accounts all to troll on my profile and say rude things. PLEASE no negative comments. Me and my sons father have joint legal and physical custody. Getting joint custody was a huge mistake on my part. His father gets him every other weekend and on the alternating weekend he gets him Sunday-Tuesday. He has been late a lot of time which i don't have to let him take him if hes late. But i don't want to keep my son from his father. His father has been doing pills a lot lately which i don't have proof. What exactly do i need to get custody?? The only bad things i have against him is phone calls of him yelling at me calling me a b**** and C*** Hes suppose to take our son at 1:00 on Sundays and tells me hes not picking him up that early. I am hoping the great-uncle's funeral will be on Friday and I can go to my maternal grandfather's 80th on Saturday. However, if the great-uncle's funeral is Saturday I feel inclined to attend. While my grandfather won't really mind I am afraid, very afraid, of the grief I will get from my mother and my grandmother. They will demand I just go to the great-uncle's viewing the night before but attending the funeral is really important to me. So will he understand? What should I say if this problem arises (I will know the funeral times tomorrow). I am 30 so I can do as I wish but I hate the grief my mother gives and it is mixed in with the politics of her divorce from my father 21 years ago.

It's not that I don't love her. It's just that she's so very negative and she nags me a lot. I feel like we can't have a conversation - it's all her lecturing me about how I need to dress differently, find a man, ask for a raise, or whatever she's decided I need to be doing with my life. I've tried to gently stop her and she starts crying and saying I never listen to her and she just wants to help. I have no attraction towards females and it s a HUGE problem for my parents because they want me to be like the others. My mom forces me to belive in God and she also uses the Bible against me. She always made me feel bad about everything I do , whenever she does something good for me she uses it against me. For example , whenever she buys me something she will tell me : "I hope you do the same thing for me when you get older , but I doubt". She loves making me feel awful about everything I do. I'm the middle child of two deaf adults. My younger sister is in the Navy, to pay for college (Like I was in the Army to pay for college). I have an older brother who is in California wanting to be an actor who after six years doesn't have a film credit, has appeared as an extra (non speaking role) in one sitcom, and has done one radio commercial. Both my parents are deaf. I am going to school full time and working full time. I'm an hour away from them and they need help. Mom doesn't drive and dad has to work on Saturdays. Mom has been diagnosed with diabetes and I had to rearrange my schedule to take her to the doctor. She needs to go to a diabetes workshop at the hospital. I was setting that up telling them they need to have a sign lang. interpreter and they said they don' that she'll have to hire one herself. I explained that under the law they do they said that's not what the law says. When I basically told them to put that in writing and I would forward it to legal aid, they told me they would call me back in an hour. They didn't call back. So I had to spend another hour fighting with the hospital to get Mom the interpreter she needs. All the while my brother is in California cell phones and waiting tables and going on auditions for roles he doesn't get and borrowing money from my parents. (He does pay them back however). But at what point does a responsible adult man up to his family obligations and give up crazy dreams?

I just got the email. It says "I hope everything is going good for you... All is well here..just getting older..!! We would love to hear from you.!!! I hope your birthday is a good day....Hope to hear from you soon...REMEMBER .. we all love you". I cut ties with them in 2011 because of how my memories of their abusing me (and their unwillingness to take accountability) while growing up made them toxic to me. And yet I'm *happy* reading the email?? Can anyone help me make sense of this? Is this even normal? Thank you I assume some will think "everyone gets abused by their family" but this was the kind that resulted in CPS intervening. My mom was found guilty on two charges of child abuse, but was let off easy due to a plea deal.

Question: How to tell my parents I want to move out. I am 18 turning 19 in a November.?

I am engaged and my fiancé is in the Marines and is stationed in Hawaii. I have visited twice and have decided that I want to move out there in about a year. I m so scared to tell my parents because I am afraid of what they will say, we have a very close relationship but I will only be gone 2 years and am coming back home after that. I want something different and moving there would make me so happy, but I hate the idea of hurting them. Any ideas of how to tell them and bring it up??

Hello, I am 17 and just moved in with my dad so I can have a few months of time with him before I'm 18 and move out on my own. But, there's one major problem, my step mom... She is disrespectful and hateful towards me and my dad is afraid to say anything to her because he doesn't want to hurt her. Once a week me and my dad set out a day for us to spend half of it together since me and him both work a lot, every time we do this she starts drama and tries to ruin in. It has gotten to where I don't want to come home because of her, I hate staying in the house now because she always has a negative comment, starts yelling, cussing like crazy, and has no self control whatsoever. I just want maybe some advice on how to handle this situation. P.S I can't talk to her one on one, I've tried. Every time I point out her negative attitude she turns it around on me saying it's my fault. Please I need help

I'm a 14 year old girl, and my mom passed away 9 years ago, so I live with my dad. My dad is way to strict on me! something around last year I asked this question but now it's getting worse, I mean as I get older he keeps making more rules! The thing is I'm not misbehaved or anything like that! Some of his rules: Bedtime:9:00(last year it was 9:30) Curfew:7:15( last year it was 8:00) No talking back( he became a lot less flexible on that) When an adult is speaking I have to look at them(that's new) Always have to say: yes sir, no sir No shorts, no tank tops, no makeup, no nail polish No grades below B's even if I'm straggling at the subject I'm not allowed to walk or go on a bus to school or from school , he has to take me there! ____________________ So whan he became more strict I decided to tast what is he really going to do(biggest mistake of my life) I was at the mall with some friends, and I came home at 8:40(something like that), first of all I got lectured about why I have a phone if I don't answer it,and do on.... Then he told me I was grounded for a month! And he's taking my phone away,and my IMac, laptop, iPad,took off the TV! All of my jewelry and makeup! And last he took my door off!!!! He said until I won't listen to his rules for as long as he wants, i'm not getting nothing back! This happened 2 months ago, I still didn't get my door back! --------------------------- How do I make my dad be less strict???? Is this normal for parents to do?

Question: Is it normal that in a family there is the "special child" and then the other kids?

My mother is one of five kids and in her family her sister (the youngest girl but middle child) is the special one. She has a normal family life and is married so it is not like there is difficult family circumstances but she gets away with stuff that the other grown children would not. Examples, 1. She can cut others down with no one telling her to stop. 2. She can miss family occasions with the parents saying that is okay "my mother would be dead meat if she did" 3. She can insult the other siblings and it is okay. 4. She had her drug addicted son move out (understandably) but she was not advised or corrected for it where as my mother would be if it was one of us. 5. She gets whatever she asks for She is not needy for say as my other aunt on my Mom's side lost her son at age 22 to suicide and has a younger son with lots of personal struggles similar to the older one who died. I would think she is the one most in need. Yet she is the one asked to help with everything. The two brothers don't get anything special nor does my mother (the ordinary daughter). So I love all these people dearly and I am by no means criticizing. I just wondered if this is normal in families. I am an only child to a single mother so I won't know by experience. Any thoughts

Why do some inlaws feel the need to impose on relationships? The love of your parents or siblings is love but its not to be compared to the love of a husband and his wife or a spouse and your children. So why is every one so jealous?

My dad sexually molested and harassed me when I was 15 or 16 while my mom was off on a two-week trip to another country. I'm 21 now and he still looks at me in a way that I can't explain but makes me uncomfortable. He has told me three times now, on separate occasions, that I was lying about a childhood memory and that my mind can make things up. He and my mom have created a reputation for me as an overly sensitive, secretive and emotional girl. For example, I clearly remember getting spanked and hit with a belt a lot when I was young. There was this one time years ago, I was probably either 10/11 years old and my older sister Jasmine and I were arguing about something with the computer in our computer room. We were at each other's throats and arguing. Then Jasmine went into the guest room and I followed her there. While she was sitting listening to get iPod, I kept talking sh*t to get face. Then when I got everything off my chest, I got up and walked away and then out if nowhere, Jasmine punched me on the back of my head. Then we started scrapping like crazy in the kitchen. My father wants to bury her in S.C. where she was raised. My oldest sister ( have 2 half sisters and 1 half brother through my mom) wants them, she also has her fathers ashes as well. My oldest half sister from her side and my dad have tempered history, and because they aren't on speaking terms, she'll try to go through me to voice her opinions to him. But he can be a real *** and take his rivalry with her out on me and think I'm against him.. I've told her to talk to him directly about it because I'm fine with her being buried near my Grandmother, so is my other siser and my aunt as well, SC (South Carolina) represents no drama in the family, and where her family was. The problem is, he hasn't reached out ( because he's an ***) to any of my half siblings about what he wants to do with the remains.. I want to stay out of it but I feel torn that I'm taking sides.. Is there even a good way to handle it?

Yesterday I realized that I should probably just look at things from the big picture from now on. I'm trying to figure out how to use the law of attraction. There are some things that have been annoying me for years, years I've wanted things to change. My parents have been getting me down for years. My mother particularly has been bringing me down again and again, but my father has been the worst one. At times like that I've just wished for other parental figures. There are a lot of things I've wanted for a long time. All those stars I've wanted to meet, etc. Perhaps I should continue listening to (or watching), the attract beautiful women synopsis video, or one like that video. Steps to use the law of attraction might also help. So again, how to aim for the big picture? and aim for the moon? What's more, this will probably help me to dream more often, or at the very least make my thoughts more enjoyable. More desired dreams would also be nice.

My parents lost their house and my dad is disabled to work so we moved to my aunts house or we would've been homeless ... My aunt treats me like **** ! & so does her husband. I just have too much pride to stay here. I want to move out - I'm a college students - I found an affordable room for rent and I think I'm ready. I just can't stay at my aunts house anymore. It's starting to affect my happiness and that's getting in the way of my studies. Any advice and tips on moving out successfully will be great!! What do you guys think? I'm currently in high school. For the past three or so years, I haven't seen my father except for a few occasional times in court. My father has done so many hurtful things to me and my family. He tried stealing from us, taking our home away, ruining my mother's credit, attempting to send us to jail. I honestly think he's gone mad. He's become super religious now and he's totally different ever since 2008 we he got laid in my eyes. I could never foresee him being this type of person. I always hated it when he was home. He was lazy and never tried to help improve our lives or situation. A few times he's physically fought and yelled incredibly hateful things at my mother (she fought back she wasn't helpless). He seemed like a person who always needed control or power. While he was still living in the same house, I'd always go to my room when he came home. Now, I usually never care that he's not around. In fact, I'm better off I think. However, occasionally I'll see a movie with a guy playing with kids, and I become overwhelmingly sad that I don't have a male figure to love and teach me in life. I'm worried this will affect my future relationships. I'd hate for my mom to feel guilty for this. It just makes me sad seeing something in movies and with my friends that I don't have.

Hello, my name is Micah and I am a 22 year old male, currently living with my boyfriend of 1 year. Three years back I was sexually assaulted and physically beaten by my boyfriend at the time. I have been used and I am getting tired of it. I told my sister that I cut... And she threatens me when she wants something. If I don't do it she tells. I guess I just feel lost. Last year I attempted suicide and I was told that my sister was crying. Hello. My name is Jonathan and I am a 24 year old male, currently living in Ireland. I have a childhood friend who is male (23), that has always and will forever be someone I cherish in my life.
