I don't know why but I really want to know how to get people to like you. I don't want to be popular, because it is too overrated. I just want to how to get more friends, without being popular. I had this friend and then stopped talking to me when she got the center of attention. I didn't mind, but I only have 2 really amazing friends, and i kinda want more. Then I got a little jealous because every girl in my class always follows her around, hoping they would be popular. But I want people to look at me and say hi, because it's really awkward for me to say hi to people I know but, not really hang out. Like I said, i dont want to be popular, just want to be in the middle. I just want to be myself.

I'm 17 and my girfriend and i broke up just a few weeks ago but it was on good terms. She's beginning to hang out with some of my friends and it fills me with some sort of jeaulosy and sadness. I know i shouldn't feel jealous but it just creeps up on me. To be fair, they were her friends as well last year when they began hanging out more. Back then that group of friends would always leave me out and i didnt begin talking to her until a few months after last summer. I have a closer group of friends but they've become such stoners it's hard to hang out with them. It's not that i have anything against marijuana, it's just that they do it ALWAYS. I dont mind that they do it but them being high just takes the fun away from other things. Only a few times have they been sober in the past few months. I've been so alone lately and i just want to be out there, it's my young years i should be enjoying them lol. But right now im just home looking at my ex have fun with my friends through snapchat and knowing my closer friends are out getting high all the time. This girl and I used to be really good friends in middle school and our freshman year of high school, but all of a sudden, she changed. She started hanging out with my best friend and leaving me out of things, talking behind my back, and critizing me more. One day we were at lunch and she was sitting with her boyfriend and his friends and she asked my best friend to come and join her, but my friend and I were sitting alone, so if my best friend would have gone to sit with her(she didn't) I would have been sitting by myself. But she also compliments me and acts like a friend around me. But I have this feeling that she's a fake friend. If she's a fake friend, how do I get rid of her?

I would like to become more social and do things more with friends. I recently moved back to my old town and met some old acquaintences at my hs reunion but I want to become better friends with some of them and make it a real friendship instead of a cyber-friendship. How do I go about doing that? I'm afraid to put myself out there sometimes because I would get embarrassed if people reject me and no one shows or can make it if I were to plan something.

So where to begin.. My bestfriend and I became friends with some guys on the internet ..of course. And one of them were on the same age as us. I'm 15 and will be a junior in high school in the fall and will turn 16 in October. Are there any advantages to being one of the youngest in my grade? From the way I see it, there are only disadvantages. All my friends have their permits and can get most jobs while I just sit around and do nothing. They'll also all graduate as adults at 18 meanwhile I'll graduate at 17. They'll be able to go to clubs and bars and drink and do everything else before me. It's really irritating. I see nothing good about this and I want to know if there's anything good about being younger than everyone else so I can stop being annoyed. You might probably think that it's petty, but to me, it's not. It sucks always being the last one able to do things.

My wife and I let my best friend move in over a year ago. We just moved into a nicer rental and all of our rents went up. We have been less of friends and more like a room mate lately- he likes to go out every weekend and drinks a lot and I enjoy doing stuff with my wife We I told him how I felt and said "do you even appreciate that we let YOU live in OUR Home?" and he got confused and said I thought we went into this house together. I told her I'm sorry but we should not talk at least until the end if the school year because this was too much to be in the middle of and not right. Starting this year I will be section leader, well my friend wanted to be section leader but she doesn't practice or even show up to class. For the past few years she hasn't been working hard like I have. Now she's upset that I'm getting to be section leader and she isnt. because I waited such a long time to start driver's ed I won't get my license until January (which will be halfway through my junior year of high school and having just turned 17 a few weeks earlier) so I guess my first question is, is this super late? I already have my permit and the car I'm going to drive but I can't (legally) take it anywhere by myself yet I would say about 6 or 7 of my friends already have their licenses, and they all have cars, some of them have been driving since the beginning of sophomore year the rest will be getting their licenses sometime within the next six months before me (but I'm not sure if they will have cars) the only two of my friends who don't look like they plan to drive in high school are both kind of out there and I can see why there parents wouldn't let them... I don't want to be put in the same category as them. should I just enjoy all my friends being able to drive and give me rides or do you think they think less of me because I can't drive yet?

Okay, so I understand why I am grounded, and I am going to explain. The first day of summer I was caught for sneaking out to a party with friends, getting drunk, going to a guys house, walking from one side of the city to another, and sleeping in a park. I walked home in the morning because I said I was sleeping at a girl's house in the neighborhood. I had two other girls with me who also "slept" there. Well, long story short their moms showed up at the same time and realized they didn't sleep at each other's house and made us come downstairs and explain everything and threatened to call every person we involved in our story so it couldn't be fake. I was grounded for about two weeks with no friends, no phone, and I had to work this bible camp everyday from 9-3. The third week I was allowed to sleep out and given some freedom. I was going to the beach w my family and invited a friend. On the last night, me and my friend lied about where we were and got caught. When I got home, I was grounded for 5 days and without a phone for 2. When I was allowed to start going out again, Everything was fine. I was sneaking out, smoking weed, going out with guys and my friends past curfew. I never drank, though. We even went to some abandoned school and hospital. However, about a week ago, my parents caught me trying to sneak out. It wasn't like i could say I wasn't going anywhere because my parents thought someone was trying to break in and checked my room was locked Update: and then realized the balcony door was unlocked. My mom saw I wasnt in there and went searching the yard. By this point, I had run to the front of the house and used my house key to get back in just in time to answer my mothers FaceTime call. She was furious and when she found me I denied it all and refused to own up, but they took my phone and read my messages and called the parents of the kids involved. They found out from my messages that i'd smoked weed, snuck out Update 2: To make matters worse I decided i didn't have to tell them everything crazy that id done, just own up to what they'd read in my messages. Boy was I wrong because the other kids told their parents anything to save themselves. My mom was furious that I hadn't told her everything but why would she expect me to? Im a kid and i could have gotten off easier (so i thought). Well now she knows I've been sneaking out of my house and others, habitually smoked weed, and had sex Update 3: She has taken my phone, my friends, and any privilege of hanging out with them for the rest of the summer. Im still going to my 3 week summer camp in july but she also refuses to let me get my permit (forgot to mention I took the car and scratched the mirror and lied to metro security about where I lived and what my name was and they showed up at my door). They also sold my range rover and took away my tickets to a rave that I attend every year for 2 years. Im gonna be a freak! Update 4: She also probably won't let me go to any parties like she said she would let me when I turn 16. UGH! I mean I'm so social and being locked inside all day only makes me resent her. Thats why after the first punishment I only got worse. If she would let me be with my friends and just check in a lot and confirm with the parents it would be so much healthier for me. Deprivation only makes me depressed and resentful. Like I'm ashamed of what I've done and apologized endlessly but as the Update 5: grounding goes on I only find myself becoming more and more repressed. How am I supposed to take 3 more weeks of this?! summer is supposed to be my break, not my prison. Do you think this is totally unfair? Shouldn't she handle the car thing in another way? I have this old best friend who is a bi*ch she is the most rude person you could ever meet! One of my 3 current best friends teamed up with her and now they do everything together and act like I'm not even there! The other 2 live 1 hour away from us because they have divorced parents and their moms live away, but their dads live in our town, so they come out sometimes! it annoys me when my parents talks about friends friends friends.. my mom makes fun of me because im a loner.. she says i should be on a tv show bc i dont hang out or have any friends. Hi guys! Well, it is summer now, and the two of my friends and I traded numbers to chat and whatever. They keep on spamming me though, like every few hours a day. and, when I told them I was going on a vacation, one of them (the one who gets angry easily) said "you are away, not away from your phone (with an angry emoji)." This was recently, and I actually just came back from my week vacation. I never answered since though, cuz they haven't texted me since. Um, are they mad???? So, what should I do? I don't really want to talk to them, but what if I bump into them next year at school? They'll be wanting to rip my head off. But it isn't my fault, since I'm one of those people who don't like being disturbed or is too busy. They don't get it. They're ALWAYS BORED. For the past few months we ve been dating but I ve realized recently that I don t actually have any close friends other than her... So for my birthday another one of my friends got me a really awesome present and on the card said that I was her best friend. I didn't say anything about it. For my final essay, i typed it like he asked and idk why, but it looked perfect but whenever i printed it it kept randomly like triple spacing things, and did some random indents. I tried for like an hour fixing it and used other computers but i think my essay was just cursed like that lol i wrote on the top explaining im sorry and stuff and handed it in. I once worked with someone at a school. We were both the same age and at first glance, I knew something was off about her. I had a very good reputation at this organization and worked hard for it, and am great with kids, as I have been called 'teacher extraordinaire' for the passion, enthusiasm and creativity I bring to my teaching. When this coworker of mine joined our school, she would constantly come into my classroom and interrupt the flow of my lesson, try to distract the children, and when the kids would greet me cheerfully she'd get so jealous and actually jump in front of them to block them from hugging me! It was absurd. She would even 'surprise' drop by my class and demand answers from the children to questions they hadn't been taught yet just to exhibit her 'power' and perhaps control. I personally found her to be very controlling and with little merit- her management was unproductive and everyone else was always picking up her slack due to her incompetence. We've had a long friendship, 7 years. But lately all it has been is heartache and fights. Back story, 8th grade and freshman year, we were together, not labeled, but everyone knew regardless. We got into a fight sophomore year, he started dating someone new, and completely ignored me. Junior year we started being friends again. It took a lot for me to let him back in, but I did. And then the feelings started again. We got really close ahain because he told me a lot of secrets. We became inseparable again. We went to prom together and that night he told me I was the best friend he's ever had and he never wants to lose me. But then it's gotten crappy again. We argue a lot. There's always this tension. They'll be days he'll flirt and mess around, and then days where he'll ignore me like I did something wrong. hey everyone...so a very close friend of mine just had a baby. the kid will be a week old tomorrow. i am very happy for my friend and have been nothing but supportive as she is tired, hormonal, and busy. as of just a few days ago she has started to ask me to hang out. i was delighted because i miss my friend and of course, i want to see that baby of hers more than what i have. so i ll ask her roughly what time she wants to get together and she ll throw out a time and as you may assume that time will come and nothing. no text, call...just nothing. so taking the bull by the horns, i get a hold of her and ask if she still wants to meet up. she will say yes but again, hours will pass and i ll get nothing from her. so i take it as a blow off because she is making time to see her family and post pictures of her kid on social media but can t make time for us. i m just starting to feel left out. she s blown me off before while she was pregnant and it just sucks. i know she s got new baby stuff going on but will this ever stop? will i ever get to actually see her or is something always going to come up? i am not a mother as i am only 23. she s 24 about to be 25 and married. this is her 1st child. someone just tell me something promising because i feel like i m losing my friend.

Tsipras and the most of the Greek people are only mad at Germany although they gave Greece 60 billion euros. Why don't the Greek people show a bit gratefulness instead of blackmailing the EU? What happened to the 320 billion they received? Why wont they just go out of the Euro zone, what does it mean to have a different currency? Why don't they agree to compromises? Last weekend, my best friend and I (both 19 year old females) drove down to the major city in our state to meet up with some college friends. I drove, it was no problem. Part of the reason we went down was because I had a first date with a guy I had met two weekends earlier. My friends dropped me off and said "text us" with the implication that I should text them if I'm feeling unsafe. I said okay, thinking they would just forget about it. I think of it as disrespectful to text on a date, and I really don't like it when I'm on a date and the other person is texting. I also figured that no news is good news, the only way it would be bad news is if I was unconciuos and in that case, they know where my date lives, that's where they dropped me off. My date and I went on a walk, I left my phone at his place. We get back and talk some more on the roof when I hear someone quietly and sort of drunkenly say my name, it's my friends saying they want to go clubbing. I say goodbye to my date get in the car, and then my friends freak out on me. It turns out my best friend even called her mom to ask what to do because I hadn't texted. Now her mom wants to have a talk to me about responsibility AND wants to drive us to the cities in the future. I just want to know how to politely explain my side of the story and convince her to let me drive again. I really don't understand how me not texting back affects my driving, but I really do understand where she is coming from as a mother.

I go to a christian private school. My current school is tiny. like my grade consists of like 60 people at most. the public school i looked into has like 500-600 people in one grade. I've recently wanted to transfer for several different reasons. but now that the new school year is quickly approaching, i'm getting more and more anxious. i'm scared i wont fit in bc i have major social anxiety. also the fact that there's so many people in one grade is so crazy and intimidating to me. of course i'm gonna try to be friendly and talk to people, but my social anxiety makes that pretty hard. i'm scared of how big the school is and i have no idea if the people there are friendly or not. i definitely don't wanna be the awkward loner who eats lunch by herself. does anyone have any advice?
