My Fiance and I will be getting married in May 2019. We are going to spend 4-5 days in Colorado for our honeymoon. We will fly from Memphis and rent a car. I was speaking to a friend of mine and she told me that I should tell people.like for example, instead of invitations saying wedding it should say commitment ceremony. We are trying to save money on our wedding and have found a website with some really beautiful, real looking silk flowers. I'm considering using these for our centerpieces, which would save almost $500 on flowers. Centerpieces would be lanterns on the tables with a few loose flowers (roses) around them. Have you ever paid enough attention to the centerpieces to notice this? Would you think it was tacky or weird if you went to a wedding that did this? I understand that it's my wedding and my decision and I shouldn't care what other people think, but I do. I don't want people walking away thinking we cheaped out on our decor, so I'm just looking for opinions here.

Wouldn't groomsmaids be more appropriate? You say bridesmaid not brideswoman, so why are female attendants for the groom often referred to as groomswomen? You say groomsman and bridesman so why not bridesmaid and groomsmaid?

A dear friend was going to be my MOH in my wedding. They had to drop out several weeks prior, due to a close family member being diagnosed with cancer. She needed to travel that wedding weekend to be with them. I told her that I understand completely, and if anything changes, even last minute, I'd love for her to still come. She accused me of wanting her family member to die so she could still be in the wedding. I never, ever meant that- when I said "if anything changes, even last minute", I meant if her travel date changed. I don't know how to convince her and I feel terrible that she thinks this. I do feel guilty in how disappointed i am, and it was probably selfish of me to say it (she felt pressure). What can I do to make things right?

I have one person I am friends with. We became super close over the coarse of this year. We tell each other everything. We don't hang out much, maybe 2 times per month. We have sons that are really close as well. She is my only friend, and I consider her my best friend, but I don't know if I am hers because she has more friends than I do. Would it be weird to ask her to be my maid of honor?

We originally weren't gunna have a wedding party. Then I heard my sister was crushed. I doubt she's crushed for the right reasons. I think she just wants to be a bridesmaid. Here's why: We're not close. We never interact at all unless we're both at my parents house. We fought WAY more severely than most siblings. When she graduated high school she went out of her way, lied, and had the school secretary cover for her to prevent me from attending. Then when she was getting her hair done she screamed at me for being in the room. Then when I graduated university across the country we were suddenly buddies again. The problem is my dad wants her to be a maid of honour. My dad's paying for tons of the wedding. This has been his only request. I feel bad that he's paying for most of it and all he wants is her to walk the aisle too and stand up there. What would you do here?
