I'm am in 8th grade. I have this friend with social anxiety and depression. In 7th grade she was a new student. I was the first person to talk to her and we become really good friends. And now that I am in 8th grade, I don't think I want to be friends with her. Everything I try to talk to someone she will give me this sad look on her face. So I just talk to her so that she won't be sad or lonely. Its hard for me because I feel she relies on me. I try to make her some new friends in 7th grade but she always comes and talks to me and me only. I want to talk to other people but I don't want her to think I am abandoning her forever. I hate to say this but sometimes I leave her alone because I can't just be with her anymore. I feel like a terrible person when I leave her alone, but I feel more free and open. But I don't want her to think that I am bullying her or something, I don't want to be the person that she blames when she had thoughts of bad things. I really don't know what to do.

There's this boy at school (we're both seniors) and I really wanna be his friend, but every time i see him he's standing alone on his phone with headphones in. Does he not wanna talk to people? Last night my best friend and I were out to dinner at our favorite pizza parlor but when we got back to my house he asked me what I had planned for the rest of the night. I don't really have any friends at my school although it is my second year in it, i have changed my ways and want to make friends this year but i can't keep a real conversation going and when i try to it just sounds like i'm investigating them or intruding, there's this group that has the same interests like me and have asked me to sit next to them during class but i felt a bit out of place although they are so sweet, and at break they sit together so when i try to join in it feels like i'm interrupting their conversation, my question is: how to approach them with out boring them out

I wanna make some new friends from scratch since i have changed schools and feel like it is a good opportunity to leave my anti-social behaviour behind and be more confident, open and out-going at school, i have made some good friendly relationships with the people at school but still that s all nothing but classmates yk, so i wanna make friends, but my communication abilities don t enable me to have long conversations, also i am not funny but have been told (recently) that i make a good mood, what do i do to get included in conversations and not have the person in front of me get bored or feel obliged to answer to me? We haven't seen each other in about a year and when we have texted each other i have always started the conversation. But we have not texted many times this year and i don't think we are friends anymore. So i'm not sure if i should tell him happy birthday or not? I don't have any plans on meeting him anymore or texting/talking with him since i just don't feel like we have a connection so i think this could be a good way to stop being in contact? or would it be rude? I don't want to hurt him. By the way i changed schools (far away) so that's why our friendship went like this but we have been friends since childhood so that's also why i'm really unsure what to do.

I walk up to women and try to talk to them, the first time around they might give me small talk, The next time around they come to me rallied with a bunch of guys and I try to talk to them and these guys show up and say something incendiary and smart aleck or begin heckling me. Sometimes they might be nice to me but don't want to get to know me as an individual but all the time teases me, then suddenly when I think they are cool with me I talk to them and these guys shows up and begins to harrass me in similar ways. I walk up to other women and attempt to have something to do with them the first time around it might be small talk and then the next time I try to talk to her these guys shows up and harrasses me. I would try to talk to these women and they will say nothing and these guys would jump out of nowhere and begin to bully me. They always are in an entourage of guys when they walk they are never alone. Any suggestions?

Lately I've been having issues with some friends. It's been going on for some time but lately I'm at the point where I don't know what to do or how to handle it. But it extremely bothers me to where I'm at the point if I don't know if I should cut friendships. Here's the situation: I'll call them friend 1, 2 and 3: There are three I hang with occasionally. When friend one is around, I always have the tendency to be talked over and interrupted. An example a few nights ago. I literally tried to start a conversation and then friend 1 always raises his voice really loud and cuts me out. And then friend 2 generally starts doing the same thing . Friend 3 rarely does it to me but has a tendency to maintain a conversation with the other two and leave me out. The only time I can get a conversation in is if friend 1 isn't around. When they're all together, I sit there and cant say anything and when I try, I'm talked over by raised voices. I can't tell if it's done on purpose or they dont realize it. But I'm leaning on the former. Friend 1 thinks he's the alpha of the group (and I can guarantee you he's not) he always tries to dominate the conversation and plans of the group. The thing is, I've tried doing the whole "keep talking over them and dont give up until they stop" and it doesnt work at all. And what makes me really mad is I'm an intelligent person. The thing is, I'm the only one in the group too whos doing something with my life. I have a college degree, the most intelligent of the group, and advancing in my career. All of them have no goals, they are in a sense "peter pans" and always talk about immature stuff. So sometimes I think thats the reason why as well. And maybe it's time to just cut friendships because I dont fit in. What do you think?

Hi, I have met a German kid at school called Meico and he says to me everyday "Maybe I can come round your house to play Fortnite tonight and have a sleepover". But when he does come over he hogs my computer and doesn't let me go on it, playing this game "Fortnite". And when my dad took us both to the skatepark, Meico said "Lets go back and play Fortnite", so he uses me for my PC, and he never invites me to his house, its always mine, to play Fortnite. I'm not friends with the the popular people at my school, and all my friends are friends with the popular people in the school and I feel like my friends have more friends than me. It's gotten to the point that it's all I can think of, and there is no way I can be friends with the "popular people" my friends are friends with because in 3rd grade, my autism really started to show and they thought of me as "weird" I basically just feel like I don't have enough friends

Some new friends keep joking about rape and abuse, which bothers me a lot because I'm a victim of both but I don't know if I'm being sensitive. My self esteem isn't very high so I'm already a sensitive...thing and they kinda pick on me every now and then. I want to have some sort of friends in high school but the jokes they make, trigger me a lot

So I like this girl a lot, and set it as a main goal in life to be a positive part of her life. I asked her friend what she was like at home, to find that everything I thought of her seems to be true. Mainly, she is basically a happy, hyper, childish 14 year old at home, while she acts like a shy, cold, "don't talk to me" type at school. Then her friend said I like her, and she had another friend text me "im not interested" implying she thinks I want to date her just for my own gain like other guys. I got upset that she thought of me like that so I tried to write letters to explain to her how I felt, and it blew up in my face, I sounded like a creep, she thought I threatened to kill myself if she didn't pay attention to me (the letter said the exact opposite), and my point never got across. This whole time all I want is to make her happy even if just as a friend, but I feel I need to apologize to her for being indirect and crap. How am I supposed to apologize for all of that in the few minutes I have after school?

Today I bumped into a former co-worker. He asked me how my son was doing, I said he ll be graduating soon and my co-worker asked "from high school or college" he s seen my child s photos before, so I don t understand why he would ask me that? When I told him my son was graduating from second grade he said: "I thought he was much older, but actually that doesn t make sense" I felt insulted because I didn t think I looked old enough to have a college kid. I m now worried that I look old. Although most people think I look young, my feelings were hurt. Do you think it s silly to be hurt by this?

My freshman year of hs was very hectic. When I first started at my new school I was being bullied, talked about and friends turning their backs against me. I've always suffered from anxiety and depression. I was a 13 year old girl who needed friends. There was a girl around school who I thought was really pretty and nice body shape just like mines. I wanted to be her friend. She was a senior. I found her Instagram and found her number under her picture. I was texting her pretending I was someone else, (a boy from school) and asking personal questions like are you a virgin, it doesn't look like it, it looks like you've had sex already. After a couple of hours I finally told her who I really was, and asked her not to get mad or tell ppl that I pretended to be someone else. she said she wouldn't. She ended up telling the boy who I said I was at first and he contacted my sister and told her. My mom asked was I texting a girl pretending to be someone else and I made up a lie saying someone stole my iPod and was doing that to ppl. They ended up believing me and dropped it. I'm now 19 and I really regret doing it and just needed a friend. Was that sexual harrassment? Could it come back later in life and ruin my career and reputation? I made a mistake. No one got hurt or anything like that. I just desperately needed a friend and took the wrong route for one. I was a dumb kid. It's not something I'd do again. Also does it seem pervertish? We been together 8 months. He lies to me alot and doesnt priortize me. She moved back in town 5 months ago. And he was stalking her from his car 5 days ago. I know this because my friend informed me when she was driving in the area he was at. They been broken up two years and the last time they saw and spoke to each other was in January and that was after we got together. I didnt know about her moving back as he told me she didnt live here but I contacted her and turns out he was aware of her moving back due to having family problems. She left him when they broke up because their relationship came to a standstill after a fight they had. but he didnt want her to leave. He talks trash about her and told me she is a slut and has sex for money. He lies to me alot. Is he still in love with her? What is happening?! NOTE: My friend showed me proof and its true! His ex was sitting at the store drinking a beer and he parked in PLAIN VIEW as if to get her attention. He sat there for 15 minutes like he wanted her to approach his car but she ignored him and he drove off... Does he love me? But I met his mom and sister...

Asking for a friend

I text my friend to let me know things that happen in her life. For instance, I told her to let me know when she hears from colleges that she applied to, but she does not let me know. I told her to let me know where she end up going, but again she does not let me know unless I text her first. Why does she not let me me?

I have a friend who is a dancer and I am also a dancer. We train at different dance schools, and she trains at one that is more well known and probably better than mine. Despite from this, we are dancing at basically the same level. She is a horrible friend and always tries to make me jealous about opportunities she has and that I don't. She'll show me how she's gets to take classes from professionals, and she'll show me videos of her dancing when I really don't care. When I start to talk about my dance life, she gets angry and says that I talk about it too much while she comes to me to brag everyday. Once I confronted her about it and she got extremely angry and said I was a horrible friend and that she knows I'm jealous (which I'm not.) i don't know how to confront her without starting a whole big deal. If I confront her, she gets angry and if I'm not friends with her she lets the whole school know. She has a good reputation so if she tells anyone; the whole school will know. I am so conflicted on what to do and how to stop trying to make me jealous.

Hello! So, I used to hang around people who were really good friends of mine and we used to experiment with a couple drugs. It was fun, we all had a good time during the summer, then school started again. I decided it would be good for me personally to stop doing drugs just because school was starting and I really need to put my future first (with the exception of smoking weed here and there) I soon found out that my friends decided to still continue to do drugs, including hardcore **** like cocaine, lean, etc. I decided it would be better for me to distance myself from them. It was really easy to do, considering I transferred to independent study after one and a half weeks of school starting just because I hate public school and I work better independently. Anyways, a really good friend of mine who I still consider my best friend just got back from rehab, and she is still friends with the ex friends I just dumped and i am so scared that she might relapse back into addiction and get into harder drugs. I am also afraid that she will leave me for them. I m not sure how to go about this. I told her mom that it would probably be a good idea to NOT let her hang out with these people, but somehow, she did. Any advice? Thanks for reading!
