Question: Should I have handled this differently? Posted: 16 Oct 2018 07:40 PM PDT I scolded my 6 year old today because he keeps coming back home with his pants ripped open around the knee area. He was doing it to his jeans for a while(actually since last year). he came back today with a hole in his pants that my husband bought just last week. I wasn't really upset, I kept asking him how he got his pants in this state he kept lying to me. Gave me 4 different stories. I told him he would get worse with his dad. His father comes home and I tell him what happened. He goes and talks to him as if it was not a big deal. when i talked to him later he told me he is changing his strategy on how he handles things with the boy. And in the middle of the convo let's me know to not try to teach him how to be a father. That all I have done was to criticize him. I feel like he should understand that letting him think it's not a big deal, is going to lead to him doing worse and think it's ok because his father didn't care enough. not only that but this is showing him that what I say doesn't matter because that is what his father is showing him. Was I wrong for telling him that he should have handled it differently? |
Posted: 16 Oct 2018 07:13 PM PDT We are out of the house now so it makes me think they are more likely to fail us by divorcing. My Dad talks to my Mom like trash and my Mom likes to hold grudges. |
Question: How can I talk my friend out of getting married? Posted: 16 Oct 2018 07:09 PM PDT He s getting married...next week!! I ve tried to warn him. I told him the statistics about marriage; that most end in divorce, that most divorces are initiated by women, and that she will steal everything he has in divorce court. I also told him that all she is going to do is complain, make him sleep on the couch and throw fits all day and night, which is what married life is nowadays. But he won t listen and got really mad at me. Please help. He s my best friend!!!! |
Question: Is it ok to cry in front of your wife ? Posted: 16 Oct 2018 07:05 PM PDT My wife was watching a show about Casey Anthony I was 18 when it happened it was all over the news for years I got sick of hearing about it. I believe she drowned her daughter they said they took her to a nanny and the nanny kidnapped and murdered her I believe the mom did it I know she did. I'm glad my wife isn't a lying psychopath like her I don't know what I do if anything like this happened to my kids. I don't have any yet but I wouldn't let anyone do this to my son or any other kid. What kind of parent drugs they're own kid then takes them out to their pool and drowns them put them in garbage bags. This story really made me sick for a long time I cried over it for years. I really love kids which is why I get so emotional every time I hear stories like this. Is it ok to cry in front of her ? |

Posted: 16 Oct 2018 03:54 PM PDT They were ultimate rednecks with a case of a pedophile in the family my mother allowed me around (guy is jailed for it now). They have people with redneck slangs, lots of alcohol and deer hunting. Their aunt had several husband's and their grandmother and grandfather were 2nd or 3rd cousins. They were slick and we got stuck with them for Thanksgiving every friggen year. Now that the uncle is divorced do consider these people family anymore other then his kids? Hell, his sister-in-law was so bad she left her husband for another man despite having 6 kids with the husband (one of whom died). My uncle is no saint believe me, but I am glad to be away from these freaks my Mom made me see. Must I consider them family anymore? I have not seen them any other then his ex-wife and ex-mother-in-law since the seperation in 2012 and divorce in 2014. |

Question: Should I look into couples counseling? Posted: 16 Oct 2018 09:12 AM PDT My boyfriend and I have a great relationship. This isn t about conflict resolution, and we aren t looking to split. I have a lot of attachment issues, and am very codependent. I ve tried individual counseling, but I never really felt that I got anywhere. I m open to seeing a different counselor individually, but I m wondering if I should look into couples counseling. |

Question: Why does my girlfriend think that i should pay for my past sins ? Posted: 16 Oct 2018 07:12 AM PDT I used to grow a few Papaver somniferum plants to make opium for recreational reasons. She used to be an alcoholic and used to drive drunk all the time so i think she is being hypocritical. The only difference is one thing is legal and the other isn't. |
Question: Surrounded by negativity and facing an impasse? Posted: 16 Oct 2018 06:57 AM PDT My wife and I just cannot get along. She is trying to create this setup where she runs her life partially separate to mine. Communication has broken down and she almost turned her mother against me. We only communicate logistics such as sharing the car and to talk about our son. Separate bank accounts except for the home loan account which we agreed upon a set amount being retained for emergencies only. I have concerns about my son because they struggle to look after him to a decent standard. They wont stick to a feeding and sleep routine and they leave used milk over heating in the bottle warmer or they don't bother to warm another bottle at all. My parents looked after him for 2 months and he was so well cared for. So tonight my wife started to argue with me because I was asking her to stay outside in the living room because I'm night shift. She wanted to use my phone and started going through it searching all my contacts and questioning if I have cheated which I have never done. In the baby's room, she closed the door hard on the way out and demanded her mother not converse with me about our son and his sleeping habits. The door closing startled my son. He is only 6 months old. Here is my predicament. If I stay, I can see my son every day and control what he eats and a few aspects of his care. If I go with him, I worry about affording child care. I have no one else to look after him on night shift duties. I don't want my son to be in a negative environment and I don't want him to be left in their care unsupervised. If I get full custody, I worry about child care for him. I want a break from my wife for a while to just relax and get on with my work and study. I wish I could have quality father-son time with him without the other two hanging around in the way. My life would be so much better without them in it for a while. So how can I get custody, child care and then be a single dad? I'm desperate to get away from them for a while with my son and just have some quality time with him! My son is 6 months old. |
