Question: Why am I suddenly so uncomfortable around my sister? Posted: 29 Oct 2018 01:33 PM PDT Me and my twin sister, we were always best friends. I can hardly remember like a single 1 time where we had an argue. So thats why im super weirded out by this thing i got going on. I always feel super uncomfortable when she hugs me or kisses my cheek which she does a lot cuz she does it like a greeting or a thank u when i do something nice for her or help her and she always used to do that and it was fine but recently it just randomly started feeling weird when she hugs or kisses me and i feel super bad about it cuz she is just being nice and i dont have a clue why im feeling this dumb way. Has anyone of u all ever experinced something like this? Im reallly glad that me and my sister dont argue like most of my friends with their siblings and i dont want to make things bad between us |
Posted: 29 Oct 2018 01:30 PM PDT Before anyone says something like "you're young you're not addicted" yes I am I wish I wasn't because the taste is nasty and it's just terrible I can't run as much as I used too overall it's just a crappy habit but I've been smoking since I was in grade 8 (currently in grade 12) and my parents found out I smoked on a couple occasions but they automatically assume I quit cold turkey which they should know that it's really hard to quit cold turkey as they have been smoking for well over 40 years but I want to talk to them about me buying a vape it'll be my money I'll pay for everything myself I just need to get them to understand I really want to quit and once I can go with 0 nicotine (because I'll lower the nicotine levels as I go) I'll sell all my vape stuff I just really wanna kick this habit but my parents tell me "you're not addicted you're just saying you are there's no way for you to be addicted to smoking) Any advice on how I could sit down with them and talk to them without them shutting it down instantly. Thank you |
Question: Grandparents (in-laws) and my kids? Posted: 29 Oct 2018 10:23 AM PDT I dropped my kids off at my in-laws house yesterday for them to take my kids to church and lunch. Then they was going to drop them back off at my house around 1:30. That is what my husband told me she said. I didn t think to ask again if it was still the same time. Well I waited and waited til about 2:30 and I was starting to worry. So I texted my mother in law to see how things was going. She said they was all back at her house playing and she would drop them back off around 5. That is almost 4 hours!! No text, phone call or nothing. I had to text her. My husband was sleeping because he works third shift and she knew that. Well when they finally dropped them off they acted like nothing was wrong. I didn t say anything because I really hate family drama but I can t let this one go. I m grateful they watched them but I need to know where my kids are. I need to be in the loop at all times even when plans change and not thinking the worst at home. Also I could have planned my day better if I knew I was getting all that free time instead of just staying at home. What should I do? Call her to confront her and be calm about it or should I just let this one go? |
Question: My wife says I was extreme with discipline? Posted: 29 Oct 2018 09:39 AM PDT My stepdaughter keeps skipping school. I took away her phone and took the remote for the tv. My wife says I am too extreme. Is she right? For about 2 months she keeps skipping school usually 1 to 2 days a week. Now my wife says I cant do anything about this anymore. |
Posted: 29 Oct 2018 06:40 AM PDT So my fiancé's father passed away over the summer. During the week after his death his mother and siblings kept wanting to get together just them to figure things or which I was perfectly fine with. But now months later his mother asked him to come on Sunday to his sisters house to talk about how everyone's doing and made sure to say just him not me or our daughter we have together. This kind of annoys me but idk if it should. What do you think am I being over sensitive? |
Question: Half siblings from both mother's side and father's side? Posted: 29 Oct 2018 04:39 AM PDT How difficult it is staying on both sides? Did you grew up with your half siblings that don't have the same last name as you? |
Question: My dad won't stop driving when he's drunk? Posted: 29 Oct 2018 03:08 AM PDT He picked me and my sister up from school on Friday and he looked really drunk and tired like he aways does when he's drinking. It's like his eyes can't focus on me when he's talking. I go to a different school than her but I walk to meet her because I get out earlier. He had a bunch of little bottles in the back seat but I don't know if he had been drinking before he picked us up or if they were old or what. My mom moved away during the summer but I don't know if they're actually divorced or not yet. He's been drinking a lot ever since then but he used to not do it around me and my sister until recently. He already got in trouble for driving when he's drunk like twice I think but not since I was little. It's really embarrassing and I'm scared that somebody at my sister's school is going to notice because you have to pull up right to school when you pick us up. What happens if he gets in trouble again and how do I make him stop? I really miss my mom and I don't know what to do. |
Posted: 29 Oct 2018 01:14 AM PDT I dislike them so much because they always yell and cuss at me for silly reasons and they put me down and make my mood worse instead of being humble and supportive with me, what kind of parents do that to their children? They really ruin my life but don't notice it, they don't know how to raise a son, I think it's time for to move because I'm 18 and I'd never talk to them anymore because I want them to think, or is there anything else I can do? |
Question: Mom gets mad at me for not going to school? Posted: 29 Oct 2018 12:17 AM PDT I didn't go because I feel sick but she thinks I'm making an excuse and now she yells and cusses at me for the rest of the day and I'm so frustrated about this, this is one of the reasons I hate my parents, why can't parents be calm? What do I do to make her stop? It's annoying |
Posted: 28 Oct 2018 11:57 PM PDT I'm 15 and I live with my Dad and stepmom. My mom hasn't been in my life for years. My mom just recently started to want to be in my life. I'm closer to my stepmom she has always been there for me no matter what. Friday my mom called me know if I wanted to spend the weekend with her and asked my stepmom if I could spend the weekend with my mom and my stepmom said no because for two reasons because I was grounded and because my dad and stepmom don't trust my mom because she used to be on drugs and they don't know if she is still using them. I only told my mom I couldn't because got grounded for getting suspended from school for smoking cigarettes and cutting class. My mom flipped out and said that what I did wasn't a big deal then she said my stepmom didn't have the right to ground me. My stepmom heard my mom yelling because I had the phone on speaker. My stepmom got on the phone and my mom cussed my stepmom out. My mom yelled I am her mother not you my stepmom hang up on her. My mom called back when I answer the my mom started to cuss me and stepmom took the phone and hang up on her. My dad is out of town for work and My stepmom told me I was allowed to talk my mom till my dad gets back from work. I don't feel like my mom has a right to be mad. The way my mom acted Friday makes me not want to have anything to do with her. I love my stepmom and I don't appreciate my mom cussing at my stepmom. I was wrong for smoking cigarettes and cutting class. I knew I was wrong before I did it. I didn't get mad when I got suspended and I didn't get mad when my stepmom grounded me. |

Question: My parents are in a bad marriage. What should I do? Posted: 28 Oct 2018 10:42 PM PDT My parents have been together for a long time. They met in high school. But now they have so many issues, like money. They can hardly pay bills. My mom has also cheated on my dad a few times. And when she done so, my dad's gotten abusive with her. My dad probably has some mental issues or something. But it's not okay for my mom to cheat on him. I've asked her why she is still with him and she said that if she left my dad would kill himself. I just feel bad for them. I want them to be happy but I don't know what to do. |
Question: Would you say this is bad etiquette and rude? Posted: 28 Oct 2018 10:36 PM PDT My sister in law is having a baby in 4 months and had a gender reveal party that turned into tears. My stepsister and my father's wife attended, and my mother and sisters were there too. In front of everyone, my stepmom gifted my stepsister a beautiful pendent ruby circled diamonds necklace. Too save the day my mother ended up writing a check to my brother and sister in law to buy a new vehicle that they have been looking at and from out of the blue my mom saved the day. Why would anyone take the focus off my sister in law when it was her day to shine? My brother was very annoyed at our stepmom at what she did, by taking the focus off my sister in law and replacing it on my stepsister. I just don't get it. @USAFisnumber1 If it wasn't for my mother's quick thinking, stepmom would have had this party turned on it's head. I don't know why my stepmom did this, but she could have saved her gifting to my stepsister at another time at another place @Katherine W, My mother has very deep pockets, No one thought in a million years that this would turn into a gifting competition, my mom tried to put my stepmom back in her place, told her to put that pendant away for another time, and that here is not the place. This isn't the first time she has tried this. |
Question: A relationship question? Posted: 28 Oct 2018 10:26 PM PDT So I'm 20 and I live in an apartment with my sister, her bf, their daughter, her son(from another father) and my disability brother. I've been searching jobs for a very long time but my sis and her bf handled the bills. Problem is, a couple of years ago till this very day the bf always talked about what he does for everyone. I understand but don't boast about it. So it comes to this final day where they are arguing so I just sit back and try to relax. It's hard to relax when he's repeatedly pointing fingers in my sister's face. I have an anger issues so it's hard for me to stay calm. All of a sudden he starts boasting about me living here just simply dragging my name to the dirt. Then lastly he was like "GET OUT OF MY HOUSE!" I knew he would eventually say that to me. My mom past away in 2016 so that's why I lived with my sister. I started to think about living in a homeless shelter at the age of 20. He went into the bathroom and punched a hole in the bathroom door. After that my sister was crying because she would have to repair the bathroom door with money. I have been recorded his angry conversations with my sis. For years I have never got along with her bf ever. My disability brother came out of the room telling our sis that she needs to get rid of her bf. Before someone ends up in jail. |
Question: My parents won’t let me wear black what should I do? Posted: 28 Oct 2018 09:37 PM PDT My parents won't let me dress how I want, I recently went shopping for new clothes and I bought band t shirts for bands like my chemical romance, black Veil brides, fall out boy and the shirts are all black and I bought 4 pairs of black pants and black converse and my parents got mad and they tell me I can only wear black once a week but I think I'm old enough to choose what I wear I'm 14. What should I do about this? What's wrong with wearing black? She makes me wear these ugly blue pants all the time she chooses my clothes in the morning and it pisses me off I hate her. |

Posted: 28 Oct 2018 09:14 PM PDT I saw the aunt friday night at a reception and it was scary. First time I had to come into contact with her in 2 years. It was all surreal. My Mom kept me safe and we left early. |
Question: What can my mom do in this situation? Posted: 28 Oct 2018 08:29 PM PDT My sister is mentally ill with EXTREME anger issues and is just an evil child. She has always been horrible to my mom and now that she is a teenager it's just gotten out of hand. She is 17 and doing drugs like meth and drinking, she goes on beer runs all the time but never gets caught and didn't even make it past 7th grade before dropping out. Every single day she is being horrible to my mom yelling at her cussing at her calling her a deadbeat and is always stealing money from her (for drugs I'm assuming) and to make it worse she is dating a guy that sexually harassed me before and also was beating his ex gf one time and she knows this but still wants to be with him. She's been to the mental hospital many times but it NEVER helps and she just goes back to her old ways. It's getting to the point where my mom has to leave the house because she can't deal with her anymore and she told me she had to be hospitalized for her blood pressure the other day because of her.. she's at risk for heart attack or stroke and I feel so horrible for my mom is there anything to do in this situation? I don't live with my mom but she calls me all the time tellin me something new with her and it makes me so sad |
Posted: 28 Oct 2018 08:27 PM PDT My dads side family( two brothers and five sisters). They always treat us nice up front but talk alot of crap about us when we get together for years. MY dad did so much for them when his dad died at age 22. My father had too many responsibilities, so he quit his future career(doctor ) and started farming. He respected and loved everyone but I dont know why they were so jealous of him and us. We never gossiped about them. They treat my mom like **** and team up with my aunt(dad side Uncles wife) and talk crap. My mom doesnt even do anything wrong. We been living with aunt( joint family) for years because my dad loved his little brother. This family is toxic and jealous filled. Me, my brother, sister and mom went through this for years. My dad had severe anxiety and depression for years but the family always though he was pretending until he passed away last month due to a rare brain disease. They cried like no other, I felt like telling them whats the point now.. What do you ladies and gents think? |
Question: Would you sue your father if he did this to you? Posted: 28 Oct 2018 07:54 PM PDT My father borrowed my car and was rear ended, totaling the car. He hired a lawyer and sued the other driver for injuries and full value of the car which was $9000. They ended up getting a settlement before trial. Well instead of giving me the $9000 for my car, he cashed it and spent it! Didn't even tell me about it!!!!! So would you sue him or just forget it? |
Question: My aunt gets mad I don't reply to her texts always? Posted: 28 Oct 2018 07:48 PM PDT (I'm 16) I love my aunt but whenever she tries to start a conversation with me, I know she's going to ask me questions about things I don't want to talk about. & also judges me at some point in the conversation. I don't like answering because being judged & questioned about everything makes me uncomfortable & ruins my mood. I struggled with depression & bad anxiety for years but now I'm finally happy with my life & progressing. She takes me not answering her texts or calls as "me being depressed", when it's really just me trying to avoid that. Whenever I'm doing good in life (like now) she has to find something to pick on me about. I've been doing online school for a temporary amount of time this year, since I'm transferring to an alternative program that'll make me graduate this year (I'm a junior in highschool). & when I was doing the online school, she took it as I was "dropping out". Even though me & my mom kept explaining to her that wasn't the case at all. I can't wait to go to college, & dropping out won't get me there. (She's my dad's sister btw). She also judges my mom a lot & acts like she's a bad parent. My mom has been nothing but a good parent, I grew up healthy with everything I needed, there's rules in the house, & I'm not allowed out past 9:00 so I don't understand how she's a bad parent? I'm just tired of not being good enough. |
Question: What can I do if my husband gives my child to his mom without my permission? Posted: 28 Oct 2018 05:00 PM PDT His mother hates me and told him that he needs to get a restraining order so I cannot see my son just because she doesn't like me I am a good mother I love my son and I would give my life for him but no matter what I do she doesn't like me she like me before she found out I was pregnant and then it all went downhill from there |
Posted: 28 Oct 2018 04:48 PM PDT My parents are forcing me to tryout for the high school hockey team, which consists of many people I don t like that don t like me, so I would be hated throughout the team. Also, I don t love playing hockey like I used to, and wouldn t enjoy playing on a team that would dislike me. So I am going to somehow create an injury to my knee, and I was wondering if anyone knew a better way to do it. Thanks. |

Posted: 28 Oct 2018 03:41 PM PDT So I want to take a trip to the beach with my bf because our birthdays are only 4 days apart. I'm a college student so I'll be home during the summer, our bday will be one of the only times we spend physically together. The only problem is, a. you can see my mother is older so more traditional and b. i come from a strict, Christian home, my mother's a deaconess. I don't plan on letting anything "happen", I've made the choice myself to be abstinent. But she won't even let me visit his family this thanksgiving, so I know she'll be opposed to letting me ride with him to the beach for a few days. If my relationship continues and the time comes, what are some things i should think of saying so that she'll be ok with it? It's not in my nature to lie, and I have no friends, so I can't say I'm meeting girls at the beach. |
Question: How do you deal with an impossible coparent? Posted: 28 Oct 2018 03:41 PM PDT My daughter's father is a narcissist, always late on child support. He gives me a hard time on everything. It's been 6 years. This isn't getting easier. She's in middle school now. I feel like I can't take this. |
