Question: Why are these YouTube videos making me want to cry? Posted: 30 Oct 2018 11:49 AM PDT I'm very much NOT an emotional person. I've been pretty stressed for a while, but functioning. As I'm doing some easy work today I have some YouTube videos of a medical doctor watching and reacting to TV medical dramas, and the shows he's watching are making me tear up. What the heck? |
Question: How can I get my nephew to consider retirement? Posted: 30 Oct 2018 09:33 AM PDT He turns 30 June next year and still has to get up a 5am for work and do a lot of heavy lifting. My son will 30 on New Years Day and had to quit his job in an office because getting up early was dangerous for his health. Both men are old men now and need to take it easy, you shouldn't be having to get up early at such an advanced age. My poor son can barely get out of bed in the morning, he has aches and pains, gets out of breath walking and has put on a lot of weight but my nephew insists he feels strong and healthy as he always has done, he walks to and from work everyday which is a 2 mile walk!!! He insists he likes walking and doesn't get tired or out of breath. Is this denial? |
Question: Would you support either of these relationships if you were my son's parent? Posted: 30 Oct 2018 07:09 AM PDT Creepy dad qotd, should my son break up with his loving girlfriend for a girl he's infatuated with? His current girlfriend is a very needy and clingy and emotionally insecure girl but she's very supportive of my son and is physically affectionate to try to improve his mood. She is a straight A student, a dancer, a social butterfly, and a goofball with a healthy sense of humor. The other girl was my son's best friend from June until school started in September. She had that whole time to decide if she liked him or not and she chose to tell him when he was dating someone else. She is a straight e student, she's fiercely into LGBT+ politics, she is unproductive and prefers to be lazy, she has a dark sense of humor (jokes about being trash and suicide), she's anti-social, a rebel against society, and she prefers to be emotionally distant. The best friend and my son share a lot of common interests whereas my son shares no hobbies with his girlfriend. Him and his girlfriend watch a lot of movies while but don't have much to say to each other. My son and his best friend play a lot of video games and talk about trendy things like memes and Vines. The girlfriend is future minded, the best friend only cares about right now. My son is a depressed boy who just got admitted into a partial mental hospital for depression and for being a rebellious 16 year old against the teachers. Not having either girl would probably keep him in the hospital longer so he has to choose one, not both. To make something clear, I just want to know opinions. Clearly I should let my autistic son make whatever choice he's going to after having suicidal thoughts because "survival of the fittest yo" but I am an involved parent and I want what's best for him (not me) but I don't know if I'm being biased on this one. His girlfriend is a good girl. His infatuation is a menace to society. |
Question: What was up with this one girl? Was this gods sick joke? Posted: 30 Oct 2018 07:08 AM PDT an introverted weight lifter at 32 at the time, 37 now, and never had a girlfriend in my life due to self esteem issues that rises when I was a young kid coming from people in general or parents teasing me. So in that regard I never ever really tried to get a girlfriend and just stayed to myself. Of course many girls I came into contact with who were flirty were just bullying me. Truth. I'm still into girls 18-20 something. I've seen this one girl in the gym when I first switched clubs. She is always training with her friend. They are eye candy for sure. Every guy in the gym would talk to her and she be surrounded by sharks lol. Noticed the one girl very innocently and maybe even got caught. Therefore, I usually keep my distance. One day I was stretching and she all giggly asked me if I left a water bottle by the machine. It was obvious it was hers. I just shook my head and continued to stretch. Moments later I went to get some water at the fountain and she was standing behind me waiting for her turn. I simply walked past her like she wasn't born. The next day I'm walking into the building and she walking to her car. I can feel a strange invisible sense of awkwardness. In the corner of my eye I could tell she looked annoyed. Why? It's been a couple years and I stil see her in there time to time. She was sitting doing arm curls and I walk by to go to a station. In the corner of my eye I could see she made a sharp turn with her head in my direction. Why????? Besided, women have played games with me my entire life. Its like they wanted me to hate them, and now I do which is why i ignore them. If god does exist and whatnot, think torture will go on for longer or you think he might throw me another bone in the near future? Hope another girl comes along and she ginger! |
Question: Why did I see an ad for tuberculosis medicine on Youtube this evening? Posted: 30 Oct 2018 02:00 AM PDT I thought that disease was all but eradicated in modern Western nations. Are they anticipating the arrival of the unscreened caravan of refugees? |
Question: How can I meet my social needs? Posted: 30 Oct 2018 01:28 AM PDT I have been alone for many years. I havent really talked with anyone for probably a few months now. Although I do smile at coworkers and peers and say hi ask them about their day and tell Im okay and get back to work. I don't feel lonely all the time because when Im busy I dont really have to think about it, but there is literally nobody I look forward to seeing and talking to. Is this how its supposed to be? Is it crazy for me to search for at least one friend either online or real life that I can share with and who can share with me? Where can I find someone to talk to? PS I dont really have a family so thats not an option. |
Question: What do you do when your boyfriend’s depressed? Posted: 29 Oct 2018 10:49 PM PDT I overheard him talking to his friends about his depression and how he's always had it. Sometimes he posts things onto social media that make others raise an eye brow. Do I just ask him to tell me everything that's wrong? How would I get him help? What if he breaks down and cries? |
Question: Do you tell your significant other when/if you’re going somewhere? Posted: 29 Oct 2018 09:28 PM PDT My fiancé and I have been living together for a long time and we have kids together. Whenever he gets home from work, he will just leave off and on and be gone for over and hour and not even mention he was going anywhere. Or he'll go out to smoke a cigarette and not come back for 45 minutes almost every night. He gets SO mad when I ask him to please tell me if he is going somewhere because we'll be in the middle of watching a movie or I'll make dinner for him and next thing I know, he's gone. He says I'm looking for a fight and he can do whatever he wants. I keep telling him I just want a little bit of courtesy and to just let me know if he's going somewhere because I think it's rude to just leave without saying anything. I don't care if he goes out or hangs out with whoever, I just want him to let me know "Hey, I'm going to go somewhere. Be back in an hour." instead of taking off without saying a word. Am I being unreasonable or controlling for asking him to let me know if he's leaving somewhere? He says I'm a hypocrite because while he's at work, I go do laundry, go grocery shopping, etc but I think it's different than him going out by himself at night and not saying anything. Please tell me if I am in the wrong because I just thought people in relationships don't do this and it's making me seriously question myself. |

Question: What am I supposed to do now? My feelings are too strong? Posted: 29 Oct 2018 08:11 PM PDT not many people here will understand this lifestyle. my 24 year old cousin lives in germany and nyc off and on; the rest of my family lives in germany; but hes not talking to the family at all, hes only in contact with me and they think he is in college in norway. whenever my cousin comes to nyc, where i live, he will get a room in a hotel for us and when im supposed to be in school, i skip in the morning for the rest of the day and go to see him. he one day took me to a new man, a friend of his he said, and left me there without any more explanation, for 4 days, and at first i was scared of this new man because i was not even allowed to look him in the eyes as my cousin does not allow me to look any man above the mouth, so i dont today know what the man looks like. but over the 4 days i have fallen in love with this mystery man, he makes love better than my cousin and i want to go back to him and leave my cousin. the problem is that my cousin has a terrible temper and he would tell this whole thing to my family if he found out i'd leave him for his friend. i am only 16 and the man is older than the both of us from what i could tell he was probably 40+. i couldnt live with my family and i have no other friends to go to if they kicked me out of the house and their lives. i do not know what to do |
Question: Why do poor people usually have kids young? Posted: 29 Oct 2018 06:35 PM PDT Why do poor or low income people almost always have children at a young age, without finishing their education and finding a good job or home first??? I noticed a lot of young parents do this |
Question: I got unblocked again, why and what does that mean? Posted: 29 Oct 2018 03:20 PM PDT so my ex boyfriend never blocked my number when we were together or right after we broke up. He blocked me a few months ago and then unblocked me last month. Then he blocked me again for awhile and just last night I called his phone and it rang. does this mean he's letting me in a bit and opening up for me? Does he want to reconnect and reunite again? Talk to me and see me too? I'm curious and thanks again. |
Posted: 29 Oct 2018 08:32 AM PDT I don't know why but I get so emotional about what she wrote that I always sleep with this under my pillow. I remember these words and everything is ok, I think of her and think that maybe there are also good things for me in this life, not just pain. I am usually a 'I dont care about anything' type of guy but last night I cried a bit thinking about her and our love. It felt so weird because I have never cried about feelings or for a girl, I feel so stupid and a little girl for doing it, but this is the effect she does to me. Here's what she wrote. I just wanna know if it's so normal being so attached to words like it's happened to me. Don't tell me he's not worth it: he's the one my heart chose. Don't tell me he's not good: he's the one I want by my side. Why do you care? What did he do wrong? He may make mistakes but he's as innocent as a temple; he's the one my heart chose, a rose among the barbed wire. My wounded, unlucky love, I don't want to see you sad anymore. |
Question: Why might he suddenly be acting coldly towards me? Posted: 29 Oct 2018 05:08 AM PDT I'm a 23 year old female and I work at a large retail store. Several months ago, our manager resigned and he's now working at another department elsewhere. So, we have a new manager now. However, this previous manager still comes into our store sometimes, and he visits to say hello and look around. This manager used to be friendly, kind and respectful towards me when he was my boss. I worked with him for two years. Yet, now whenever he visits, he is very cold towards me. For example, he'll say a quick "hi, how are you?" to me and nothing else, and looks down. Yet, he talks and laughs casually to ALL my other coworkers until he leaves, and interacts with them extensively. So, I just get on with my job. I know he has no obligation to be nice, but I don't know why he's suddenly being cold. Are these just mind games? Or, perhaps he hates me? He's 33, by the way. Honestly, I don't give a sh*t what he thinks, as I'm opening my own clothing business next month and am leaving the company soon anyway. I'm just interested in the psychology behind his odd behavior. |
