We work in the same building, but on different floors (she works upstairs), so the only time we see each other is when we run into each other coming and going, in the halls, etc., which isn't very often. One time we both walked in at the same time and introduced ourselves and chatted for a bit -- just very casual banter. She told me she had heard about me before from the bureau director, and I said that's because I'm kind of big around here... she laughed. She told me she missed working on my floor because it got lonely on the up on her floor sometimes. I could tell from our interaction that she is a little shy -- my manager, who used to work with her -- confirmed that. Later that day, I sent her an email on our work email telling her it was good to meet her. She responded within minutes saying it was good to meet me too, and included a blushy smiley face emoji. A week later I sent her another email on our work email that said something like, "If you ever get lonely, or get altitude sickness up there, you know where the party floor is!" She never responded to that one. I have seen her a couple times since then, and she's always smiled and said hi and asked how I"m doing. I've since added her on Facebook, and she accepted.
