Question: Ex-wife is a horrible parent? Posted: 19 Oct 2018 12:36 PM PDT My ex-wife & I( we've been divorced about 7 years now) share custody of our 15 year old. What's concerning me is that lately she's gotten this terrible attitude. When I ask her to do her chores. She whines, scoffs, or rolls her eyes. If things get intense, she tells me, " Mom doesn't make me do stupid s**t like this." My ex is allowing her to be lazy & mouthy all week and so when I get her, I get the result. What should I do? Whereas my ex is 100% " the parent who is a friend", I like to think I'm 50/50, I can be laid back, but if you start screwing up, I'm laying the law down. On one hand I want to call my ex & explain that all of this " no work, all fun" stuff isn't helping, but on the other hand, this could just be typical teenage behavior |
Question: Today, I was irreversably betrayed by my family. Please read. What should I do? Posted: 19 Oct 2018 12:20 PM PDT I feel suicidal. We are reorganising our businesses under one company. One YOUNGER sibling gets full shares of the family business while the older gets none. I'm told this will be symbolic and "the parent will still control everything from behind the door as the real boss" but why wasnt it 50/50? I will legally be worth NOTHING. I'm not even thinking of confronting them with this because they should've thought about how it would affect me... Maybe the parent thought it would make me want to prove myself more, but it just makes me wanna cut ties and live miserably instead of being humiliated like this. I'm ******* 30, not exactly young. |
Question: Is it okay that I spam my dad with a ton of messages even though he never responds? Posted: 19 Oct 2018 11:49 AM PDT I think he secretely hates me or thinks I'm attacking him but I want to communicate to him. He's an alcoholic and I really just wish he would get help! |
Question: I think its ridiculous my mom doesn’t let me sleep over friends houses..? Posted: 19 Oct 2018 10:56 AM PDT Im 18, I understand that she worries and cares about me a lot but I always miss out on fun things because she's so overprotective im sick of it |
Posted: 19 Oct 2018 08:49 AM PDT When she was mad at me for something I did wrong she would often times call me, Stupid azz, stupid azz kid. Then she would smack me in the face and kinda hard too or so it felt. At times she would even kinda have a smirk on her face as she called me names. One time, I had a bad day in school and i remember my mom calling me, stupid, psycho, ugly, ugly, ugly azz kid. When I would eventually yell at her to stop she would hit me. Much of the time the other family would get in on the "fun" and then continue to talk about me when I'm in the facinity and often laugh at my misery. my brother used to make fun of my weight problems back when I was a boy and mom would just tell me to "oh stop" whenever I complained about it. Brother is 10 years older than I and I'm 37. I guess that might have affected my self esteem. also my mom would talk to me under her breath and say discouraging things to me or straight up just spiteful and nasty. |
Question: Why does my dad tell negative things about my past around family members and strangers? Posted: 19 Oct 2018 07:04 AM PDT |
Posted: 19 Oct 2018 05:41 AM PDT my ex fiancé's ex wife who he got back together with is suing me for emotional abusing her kids. I called them liars all the time. Made fun of their weight. Shoplifted and blamed them for it. Kept them from my former in laws but let my in laws see my kid. I also told them their grandparents were old and they better get used to not seeing them. gave away any presents they got . Made them watch my child play . My ex fiancé found out my child isn't his can he sue me for that I don't see anything wrong with it. My dad did treated my older sister the same way, until my mom left him. He got custody of me. |
Question: My grandma doesn't want many Mexican people to go to the voting place? Posted: 19 Oct 2018 04:13 AM PDT So almost every year my grandma works at the voting place across the street from my school that's right next to the Little Caesar's. She picked me up from school yesterday and I heard her and my Aunt Josie (she's not really my aunt) talking about how they want to scare away or keep the Mexican people from going to vote at the place where they work. I talked to my Mexican friend's mom about it and she didn't even really care. Is this actually illegal and could my grandma get in trouble or am I just worrying too much? |
Posted: 19 Oct 2018 03:01 AM PDT My son and his Gf of 3 years, since they were 14yo, they are 17yo now. Recently his Gf got diagnosed with terminal cancer and he wants to marry her to make her final dream come true, as she loves him a lot and wants to marry him. Personally, I find it very romantic BUT since she would pass away soon, I doing know if this is a good idea for my son. What can and should I do? |
Posted: 19 Oct 2018 02:14 AM PDT Only because that daughter cut the mother's calls when the latter wanted to start silly arguments? Note that she and her siblings reconnected with that mother when adults after she left them at 6 months, 3 years and 5 years? |
Question: In western culture, at what age does a person need to be able to independent? Posted: 19 Oct 2018 02:06 AM PDT independent meaning the person does not need money support from the parents. At what age? |
Posted: 19 Oct 2018 01:51 AM PDT My grandma died this Monday morning, I was the only person in my family speaking to her for the last two-three years. My mom is claiming that my grandmother did not have a will. But my grandma told me many, many times over the last few years that since I was all she had left that I would receive everything when she died. She was quite heartbroken about my mother ignoring her calls. She died without having heard from her daughter in two years. It makes me depressed to think that when she was lying on that floor passing away she had to have thought of that. So my mother and her boyfriend told me that I am not allowed to enter my grandma's apartment without my mother's permission or without her there. If I do, they claim they will call the police. They are well aware that my grandma said she would leave me, everything. I just do not have written proof yet. My grandma raised me for thirteen years of my childhood so we were closer than a grandchild who was not raised by their grandma. I already called a few law offices, but I just want to know. Are they essentially saying just bullshit? Or do I have a right to enter and check for a will? All I want to do is look for any records. She died in an assisted living facility and my mother is telling the management that I cannot enter. They don't even care that she died. She isn't sad, she admitted she feels nothing. Where do I stand? So, I want to enter her apartment to go through her files and folders to search for any indication that my name is on something. Be it a will she started but never got notarized or some other document. Or proof that my name is on her accounts. My grandma saved many folders of paperwork, and I want to sift through every paper to know for sure that there is no will. Last year, she was telling me that she was making a will with me as her recipient on it. I am thirty. And I tried to go up there yesterday. But they scared me by saying my mother is next of kin so if I drove four hours there I would be barred from entering. And I am waiting for the law offices to call in the morning. In the event they don't call tomorrow. I am trying to be as informed as I can. My grandma was paying with her monthly pensions. She paid her own rent. My mother is an only child. There is no older sibling. So I have to get a search warrant from a lawyer to enter? That won't happen in a day and they are going over Saturday to remove all of her papers and every folder to take back to their place. They told me they would not look at the files there, and they would just take the boxes of papers home. It seems if I am not there before them, today or tomorrow morning that I will never know if there was a will. |

Question: Would it be rude to tell my stepmom to stop bossing me around Because she not my mother? Posted: 19 Oct 2018 01:14 AM PDT I'm sixteen Two months ago My dad and stepmom grounded for two months because I was late for curfew they didn't even give me a chance to explain what happened. If they had answered the phone when I called I would have told them that my kick me out of the car and left me on the side of the road. I think they was wrong because that was the first time I was ever late for curfew My ex-boyfriend kick me out of the car because wouldn't have sex with him. I had to call my step brother and I asked him to come and get me. a week later after they grounded me my stepmom told me that my step-brother told her what happened. she asked me why I didn't tell them about it I said because y'all didn't give me a chance y'all just jumped conclusions. She did not unground me because cursed at her the night they grounded me. My stepmom is always on my case about everything especially School it aggravates the crap out of me. My stepmom gets upset because I energy drinks all the time like it's any of her business. She is always telling that energy drinks are bad for me . My stepmom thinks she has a right to know if I'm having sex with my boyfriend which I'm not because I'm not ready for the that and it's none of her business. I don't appreciate my stepmother going through my room and throwing my energy drinks and stacker3 away. Sometimes I just want to tell her to mind her own business and to leave me alone and it stay out of my life but I don't want to be rude or hurt her feelings. |

Question: Why can't my grandfather understand that nagging does not work? Posted: 18 Oct 2018 10:16 PM PDT |
Question: My dad stole my new car title and keys to my old car? Posted: 18 Oct 2018 09:31 PM PDT My father rode with me to go get itRoll into Monday morning, I get angry texts from him about hiwanting my new title and keys to my old car. Our deal was he was giving me the 3000 as a gift and I was going to sell my old car for about the same exact price I go over to get the rest of my things from my old car. He turns into a rage saying i shouldn't haveever got this new car. He wants the 3000backmake it short by the end of it he psychially assaulted me and stood in front of my driver door not letting me leave until I gave him the title to my NEW car and keys2my old one 4yr sonwitnessed everything and I just wanted to leave but he refused to let me get in my vehicle until I do he took the key to my old car and new title saying he isn't going to give me the title back to my new car until he sells the car for$hadn't agreed on that at allHe then tells me he wrote on the title that he is the lein holder and won't be giving memy title back until my old car is sold to make up the money he gave me for the old car so I could buy the new one or pay him the 3000 first. Both the new car and old car have only my name on the title. Even the registration only has my name as well as the receipt and every single other paperwork they gave me at dealership I guess my question is can people just write on the back of titles and claim they are the lein holder? So what's my case if any? His name is on neither the old title or the new title and he seems to have lost his mind in an angryway. |
Question: Is it normal to start to find your family weird or Annoying? Posted: 18 Oct 2018 09:20 PM PDT I've been working a lot recently and am barely home but when I do get home I've started to feel very different from my family members. Me and my sister for example used to be very cool and I'd say good friends but I come home now and they all talk in these valley girl voices and yell and fight a lot. I feel like I just used to regard my sister very highly but I know a lot more people now. Im moving out soon but there is a lot of fighting and sleeping etc I can honestly say I hate being around my immediate family. |
Question: Should I help my dad or myself? Posted: 18 Oct 2018 08:08 PM PDT I recently got 1900 dollars and I was planning on getting a new phone and new shoes and clothes and saving the rest. But my dad wants to have money to pay for his child support and buy more groceries and pay off his debt. I don't wanna just be like no bc then I'll seem ungrateful. But I'm 16. I don't have a job. This is like my one chance to have my own money. I barely have any clothes or shoes because we're basically poor. I take the train every day to school and back so I need money for that. And I have a bf so we're going to prom and homecoming this year. Also we like to go out but we stopped because I didn't have money and didn't want him paying for me. His birthday was 4 months ago and I still haven't gotten him anything and I wanted to. What do I do? |
Posted: 18 Oct 2018 07:50 PM PDT i'm the youngest child in the family, and they Put a lot of pressure on me! my mom yelled at me today, because I wouldn't do my chores, which I have a lot of homework and I'm stressing out right now, and crying because of school. My mom usually hits me with the belt, or throws her high heels at my head, my brother punches me, throws things at me face. just because he's stress doesn't mean he needs to throw all his anger at me! That's why sometimes when I come home from school I end up being depressed. |
Question: My mom won't let me move out? Posted: 18 Oct 2018 07:38 PM PDT I told my mom I was going to move since I'm 18. I have a lot money saved and a well paying job, my own car that I bought under my name. My keeps telling no because I'm just going to do bad things and what she means is smoke weed. She always says I'm a bad person because of smoking and I told her that I'm done living here if she's just going act like a criminal. But she's refusing that i leave. I don't know her problem. |
Question: I want to live with my mom but my dad won t let me? Posted: 18 Oct 2018 05:54 PM PDT I m 13 years old and my parents have a joint custody but i stay with my dad more. My mom and I went to go to court to fight again for custody but we lost last week. We provided so much evidence about the depression and anxiety I had staying at my dad s and how bad the school is for me and the neighborhood he lives in. I even wrote a letter and did a video to say how I felt. He always talks so bad and says lies about my mom to convince me to hate her. Is there any other way to get me to live with my mom? (Oh ok thanks for the answers I just wanted to know.) |
Question: How do I become more affectionate towards my kid? Posted: 18 Oct 2018 04:36 PM PDT I am a young mom. Although I believe that my wife and I (yes, we're lesbians) are good parents, I am not affectionate and a little emotionally distant from our son. I am great in other areas, such as providing and taking care of him, but when it comes to showing my emotions, I just don't do that. I am a very stern person with a strong personality. I am also very misanthropic and cynical. My wife understands my attitude, but my son is too young to understand, and I don't want him growing up thinking that I don't like him. Luckily my wife is the complete opposite from me, so he still does feel loved. I love him, but I don't show it at all. I do not actually wish to change my outlook on humanity, I just want to change the way I act towards my son. How do I do that? |
Question: Any advice on how to deal with a religious Trump lover? Posted: 18 Oct 2018 03:42 PM PDT To make a long story short, I had a massive stroke and have been living with my Parents. I went from living independently in liberal NYC to living dependently with my Parents in a boring tiny dead end town. The problem I'm having is that while politically I'm more middle of the road, my Mother is pretty much far right. I literately cannot watch or listen to anything remotely liberal. No shows involving gay people, liberal views, and definitely no Harry Potter type stuff! Because, you know it's demonic and apparently them demons can come through the television. I should mention She's pretty uneducated as well. Her hateful and ridiculous beliefs are really getting to me. |
Posted: 18 Oct 2018 03:27 PM PDT So my sister was sent to a person so they could refer her to a psychologist/therapist and she went to this person and they said she didn't need to see anyone maybe go to a group thing once and it'll be fine but my sister told me before that like she had suicidal thoughts and stuff and she self harmed there a month ago and told my mother so she could go to this person? How did she not get the appointment I just gave signs for depression and they sent me straight to a psychologist she's over 18 so maybe it's different but she's still in school and stuff I just think that maybe she didn't tell the person anything so I asked her about it and she got really defensive and everything and started shouting how she didn't want to talk about it Ino I shouldn't push about things like that but I mean she told me she had suicidal thoughts and then got so defensive about me asking so I kept going and asking her why she's so upset now about it and then my parents heard her shouting and started shouting at me but my mother thinks the same thing she said it to me the same day that my sister probably didn't tell them everything and my dad called me a ***** and everything and then my sister was lieing about it saying I kept asking her about the appointment when I actually was talking about why she got so defensive about it. This whole thing was pretty pointless I just want to know if I'm in the wrong I probably am sometimes I can't tell |
Question: GROUNDED FOR AGES HELP? Posted: 18 Oct 2018 03:22 PM PDT So I stole money from my parents and now I'm grounded for six months!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I Literally have no freaking idea how I'm going to survive because like technology and video games are my life. For those of you wondering how I'm asking this , I got on the phone at the store to post so yeah. I am occasionally allowed on the home computer for homework but nothing more, at night they take the keyboard. Along with no computer, my punishment includes the following : No iPhone No iPad No tv No xbox No bedroom door 9:00 bedtime No going out No halloween No trip to Disney That's pretty much it, but I also had to sell a bunch of my video games today to pay them back but I still owe like $100 I stole like 500$ dollars or so, and also lied to them a ton, which I honestly feel bad About but Ive already been grounded like three weeks already and I'm honestly so depressed I don't know what to do. because my life is literally wake up go to school get home and review my notes for hours all night I know what I did was wrong and I've apologized a lot but it's just hard going to school and stuff FYI: My phone and stuff is kept in a locked safe in my parents closet and there's no way I'm gonna try to get into it they also bolted my window shut too. HELP! Please don't be a dick or a troll in the comments, just genuine advice please HOW CAN I SURVIVE BEING GROUNDED FOR THIS LONG |
Posted: 18 Oct 2018 03:21 PM PDT I'm 15 years old, and my dad has had custody of me and I have lived with him since I was a very young baby. My mother has neglected me all of my life and she hasn't even texted or spoken or visited or called me or anything in so many years. My dad filed for child support when I was 10 years old. The person working on finding where my mom is has not done a single thing in 5 ******* years, but her boss said that they are doing everything they possibly can. Bullshit. My mom lived in Wisconsin (where I have lived all of my life) when she was supposed to start paying child support. She then moved to Washington for a couple of years with her boyfriend to escape paying. Then she moved to North Carolina where she is staying now. I know exactly where she lives and where she works but the lady says she can't do anything because she changes where she works a lot and doesn't get a response when they send her a letter. NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE IN FIVE YEARS. She has lived in North Carolina for about 3 and I have known a ton of info that I have given them. This is not right. What do me and my dad do? |
Posted: 18 Oct 2018 03:21 PM PDT So this lady has said in the past that she loves so much my son, because he behaves very well (true) and she says that he is so well behaved and mannered that he seems more like he was her son instead of mine... At that point I didn't appreciate the comment but I decided not to make a deal out of it. But now she asked me what would happen to my son in case my spouse and I die because she wouldn't mind taking care if my son like a legal guardian. She went on and on portraying the whole situation about how my family or my husband's family wouldn't be suitable because SHE doesn't what my son to leave the area. The thing is, we are not sick, we are a stable family, love our son and we are young, 30s so to be plain honest these kind of questions assumptions are totally disturbing. On top of that she has expressed to other neighbors her interest in adopting our child, I mean seriously???!!! why should she adopt the kid of a stable, normal family with a no financial problems, who adore their kid and have no intentions to let their son go. This is creepy and scary for us but I would like to know what would you do if you were facing a situation like this??? |
Question: How can I force my dad to move into a senior living facility? Posted: 18 Oct 2018 03:20 PM PDT So my dad has never been the most competent of people even in his "prime". I'm pretty sure he's mildly autistic and his years of alcohol and amyl nitrate abuse have taken a toll on his mental faculties. He's starting to get up there in years (he'll be 47 in December) and I'm starting to think it's about time to move him into a senior facility of some kind. Suffice to say, he's completely against the idea. He's still relatively independent and works as a business consultant in his spare time. He still drinks pretty much all day everyday despite the fact that he was diagnosed with diabetes last year and has frequent bouts of pancreatitis and kidney stones. I'll admit that my motives aren't entirely altruistic as I'm kinda eager to move into the family home and take over the mortgage payments. I pay over twice as much monthly to live in a crappy studio apartment downtown. How can trick/force or otherwise manipulate him into moving to a facility without resorting to violence? |
