ok so last week I was doing my chores and she screamed at me because I didn't do something right and she made me go to my room and told my dad I didn't do my chores-and she hasn't spoken to me since. today is her birthday and yesterday I made her an origami purple elephant (because elephants are her favorite animal and purple is her favorite color) but today I saw it wadded up in the trash. I've tried apologizing but she just blew up and yelled at me that sorry doesn't make anything better. I'm sad, my mom always told me she'd love me unconditionally but now I think she hates me, what should I do?

Today I was looking for my charger in my dad's car when I found a pack of cigarettes and a lighter. He has said before that he doesn't smoke. He is apparently very good at hiding it in this case. I had been wondering why every time I would ride in his car he would say "hold on let me go clean out my car" before I would get in. I wonder if he was hiding the pack. Something similar to this happened when I was 7 and I found a pack. I thought he had quit since then. How do I help him in quitting? He and the rest of my family doesn't know that I know he smokes and I doubt the rest of my family knows he does smoke. I don't know if I can tell my mom because she will only yell which will make the situation worse. I don't want my dad to feel hurt or uncomfortable like he did when I was 7. I just care about him and his well being. I know that he has been under a lot of stress.

What is the difference between taking them to a counselor and a psychologist? What considerations do I need to take into account when making this determination?

i'm sixteen, and all my life my MOM has been arguing nonstop everyday with almost everyone in my family. she won't with my sister because she claimes to be "scared" of her and treats her kindly. but my dad and i are constantly yelled at over the littlest of things. my mom is hard of hearing so ofc we know to respect her, but we don't really care about the yelling it's mostly the things she accuses us of and the words she uses when talking (name calling). she's always getting mad and being unfair. my sister the other day hit me and i was obviously upset, my mom said "oh if i knew what was going on i'd say something" so i told her what was happening and then the next day she talked to my sister like nothing ever happened. and must i say she blames everything on my dad, she hates where she lives and her family (she literally has said this so many times), she's two faced (talks **** about my sister but acts super nice towards her), and argues anywhere (in public, family reunions, in front of her children). she sometimes acts like i'm her therapist and talks to me about all her problems, like i'm still a kid let me enjoy my childhood. she thinks she is absolutely perfect and does nothing wrong, claimes to know "right from wrong", and tells my dad to see a therapist but when i tell her that she should to she flips and says no not me he needs help. i'm not sure what to do anymore.

She's getting to an age where this is inappropriate now. Her two older brothers encourage her to behave like a 5 year old. Yesterday, I made the rule that no one is allowed to do chores for her. She must learn to do things on her own. At her age, my daughter needs to be capable of some things. I started out by letting her walk to school alone when it starts next week, for example. From now on, my daughter will choose her OWN clothing (as long as it's appropriate, I will encourage her to experiment with her style). She'll pack her own bags for our vacation to Mexico (with some help from us). I'm trying to make her less dependant and reliant on other people.

He is 17 he is not allowed to have friends he has been homeschooled since 2005. He says its not fair or right he can't make money and drive. His parents won't give him his ssn to make money his parents won't get him driving lessons or just teach him how. They tell him they refuse to drive him and to just walk in the highway because they don't care. Cousin actually lives off a highway. My cousin refuses to use public transport just because his parents won't let him eat alot or get him shoes to walk in and because its 30 miles from him. I am 33 why does my cousin act this way?

Her doctor confirmed that she has abnormal puberty. It will likely stunt her growth and eating habits/sleep time will change. We never planned on telling her about the details on puberty and hormonal changes until she was at least a few years older.

The thing is that we are and have been concerned with my sister and her lifestyle choice to be anti-social and almost borderline mute. She does have an online freelance job and my mom finally makes her pay rent because for a while she was getting a free ride. It bothers me and it comes off very lazy and inappropriate at her age. She did once live on her own in Florida a while back for under a year for an internship but she came right back and back to her bad habits. My mom makes her wake up earlier now but when my Mom isn't around she wakes up at noon. Her day usually consists of staying in her room on her computer or watching T.V (which is in her room). She really doesn't pay a lot of rent and that's pretty much all she pays for. My mom pays for pretty much everything including her cat's food which my mom has expressed her annoyance for. My mom is well aware of how this is a problem but is trying to figure this out and get her help which I'm still waiting to happen. The way I see it due to the fact of how she acts differently around our mom is that I think its that she is very anti-social to the point that it's just lazy and her choice to avoid growing up. My mom feels that its maybe Aspergers but the way I see it I feel that she is fully capable of being a productive person just chooses to trick my mom into thinking she needs to stay home but just doesn't want to grow up. I want to be tactful but the more this goes on I don't see her ever changing.

I have cried for her every day since Christmas 1997. That was the first year she wouldn't see me. Her mother left me cause I was not able to accomplish what she wanted in the job world. She wanted a wealthier man which she apparently found. Ever since she married him, October of 1997, my daughter has not wanted to be around me. She even said in our last phone conversation on Christmas Eve 1997 "he is my Dad now, your just the father". I wanted to die at that moment and I have every moment since. I saw her last at my mother's funeral on December 4, 1997. It has been over twenty years. Mail never got a response. My Facebook accounts blocked by her. Baptisms for her children I was not asked to. 21 Christmas' I missed. 21 Christmas' I did nothing but weep for her. Her mother had a hard childhood, I felt for her and loved her. Since then she has stolen my love and that love has turned to sheer hatred. Yet, I have never shown it to my daughter. I always say "give my love to your sweet mother" in these letters I get no response to. Her mother is a narcissist. She had a condition she likely couldn't help (Borderline Personality Disorder) but it made her turn on me. She has poisoned my Emily's mind yet I don't know what it is Emily has been told cause she won't talk to me. So I am dying, stomach cancer I got when the colon cancer metastasized. I won't be hear to weep for her this Christmas. How do I get her to talk to me one last time before I die alone? I have no siblings, no nephews and nieces. Growing up my father abandoned me so I had no one but my mother. She was wonderful. Now she is gone and my daughter rejected me. So I have no one. I won't get a funeral I assume, for no one knows me. Unless I get my daughter to accept me, this last month or two. She has not rejected me, she has rejected who she falsely thinks I am. I am sure I made mistakes, but I love my daughter and she has been stolen by my exes lies or hate. I won't show her my hate for her mother, I will show kindness, how do I get her to accept me in this last month or two I have.

Hello. I've been having a little problem and don't know how to deal with it. My brother in law is having the first grandchild in the family, and as we married first, it was expected of us to have the first one, however we are not. Now my husband is upset that we're not having the first one, and whatever grandchildren come next, it will just be other grandchildren. I can understand, but I don't know what to do to make him feel better. It feels as if he's disappointed, not only with himself but I feel as if it could also be my fault, as I am the one not feeling ready for a child, although he has never said I am to blame. How can I help my husband when he is upset that our grandchild is not the first one?
