So recently I've been through a lot. I have been going through depression and suicidal thoughts. One of my friends I have noticed has become a lot more distant. I don't know what to say or do to regain our friendship. I love him to death and I would be heartbroken if our friendship got ruined. I don't have many friends so I'm not sure what I should do.

I have been playing on a co-ed soccer team since February and there is a guy on the team I have an interest in. We are both 25. When I first met him, he was very quiet around me and would talk to everyone but me so I thought maybe he didn't like me. He would look at me but then quickly look away. At school on Friday me and some friends were playing a ball game outside, I threw the ball to my friend and it hit one of the teachers. Even though I was the one who threw the ball, my friend was given a detention, I told the teacher it was me and I should be the one in detention but she didn't believe me. About 4 years ago I told my childhood friend that I'd been searching for where I'd come from for a long time, she was very interested in everything I had to say and repeatedly reassured me that it didn't bother her when I talked about it. Even still, I only brought it up once every few months or so. She hasn't contacted me either besides a text and a call about someone else. A month after our "fight" I received a bracelet and a card saying "Sorry I said stupid stuff to you" from her. Problem is, she'd ordered this bracelet as an apology for something else prior to our fight, so I don't even know if she's just using it to apologize for both or what. Anyway, I don't know what to do, I mean we've been friends our wholes lives and I guess I just assumed she'd grow out of her more toxic behaviors in time because at her core she's a decent person, but now I don't know if I was just being an idiot.

I do not just mean how to meet people. Once you meet someone, how on earth do you then get to a point where you can be friends? I honestly don't know how you make friends. No idea at all. I've had casual friends who I've met via work and would go out drinking with but those aren't real friends I could just hang out with or call up if I needed to talk/someone to call if they needed to talk. I've only ever had something like this with my boyfriends, which really isn't ideal. So my friend asks me sometimes to go for a walk and I say "ok" if I'm free. Only problem is that he tells me to meet up at his place and he usually just stays there talking and playing gta and smoking sigarettes while I expected to actually walk. There's this super sweet guy that comes in to buy food at my store. He's a friend of mine and he brings me homemade treats and coffee. He brings me treats when I'm happy and more when I'm sad. Ok so this should really be titled whose the bad friend but I've been thinking more about this and I'm starting to think I'm the bad friend. Some graduates wore heavy makeup, ash blonde hair, leather jackets, suit pants. There was almost NO ONE in grades 8, 9 or 10 dressing like that. I'm from Canada and there isn't a dress code enforced on younger students that says you can't wear it. I can only come up with 3-4 girls in my 10th grade with leather jackets and some girls with makeup, but none of them fit the description I wrote above (because they don't have the WHOLE look). Naturally, the younger kids tend to have a different style than the seniors. You can easily tell which ones are the 13-16 year olds from the 18 year olds. Why is there such a huge difference?

I have been dating my boyfriend for 1 year. He is a surgery resident and had to move to another state 2 weeks ago for residency. We decided that we love each other enough to give long distance a fair shot. Due to the huge move and such, he is in a bad financial situation at the moment. He will be back on track in a month or two once he starts getting paid again (residents get paid~60K during residency, but the state he moved to is very expensive) Long story short, because his residency schedule is crazy (hospital Mon-Sun from 4 am to 6 pm at minimum)..he made it clear that I will have to be the one visiting him majority of the time. I understand & sympathize with that. I am going to visit in 2 weeks-I just bought my ticket. I am 22 & I currently not employed since i am in college full-time. The money that I have to spend is the monthly amount I get from my dad (he is helping me since im a student). I initially didn't mind having to pay for my own plane ticket because I presumed he would cover the fees of taking me out while i visit. I told my mom about this and she says that it is not right for him to not be paying for my tickets. I kind of sarcastically hinted that to him while we were on the phone (when i told him I got my ticket) & he responded, "oh sorry..you know what my situation has been like.. i got your next one." Hi. My 32-year old pal has put the ring on his fiancee and the wedding is scheduled for the end of this year. He is approximately 300 lbs. & his bride-to-be is closing in on about 375 lbs. They spent several weeks deciding on an array of cheap to expensive gifts for their registries, and finally posted them up online. The thing is they are all food and kitchen related. Everything from cookware, cutting boards, and rolling pins to cakes, cookies, and pies. There are no draperies, linens, sheets, towels, or other stuff a newlywed couple might need to be found anywhere on their lists. Nope, just cooking stuff and tasty pastries. Mutual friends were hoping that this new life would set them on a new path that hopefully would lead them out of the kitchen and maybe on a trip to a new and exciting place or maybe even a gym membership, but our hopes are somewhat dashed after seeing these registries. My question today is as follows: Should we indulge this couple by bestowing upon them these food-favoring gifts fit for a master chef, or would we be better friends by giving more traditional items that cannot be retooled for food-preparation purposes or be outright swallowed whole?

I easily make acquaintances, and sometimes we'll become friends, but not best friends. If I see my friends in person, like at school, we'll talk. But out of school or work, they don't text, call, or ask to hang out, especially now during summer break. The only times a friend would text or hang out with me is if I initiate the conversation or if I ask if they want to hang out. Am I just being antisocial? Maybe boring? growing up I always wanted that one best friend who would be like a sister to me someone I could tell my secrets to a friend that was drama free. During my 29 years on this earth the friends I had were no good too me talked about judged me, took advantage of me, was just being plain messy, only called when they needed something. A five year friendship just ended with two of my friends because someone took what I said and ran with it twisted my words and lied just a whole bunch of drama.
