Question: Someone requested a painting from me for an insultingly low price? WHAT DO I DO? Posted: 02 Jun 2018 01:14 PM PDT So my elderly dad is injured and has a nurse come everyday until next week. But my mother, being overly proud of me as an artist, talked to this lady non-stop about me, and agreed to her to have me do a painting of her nephew. I have a website and say I charge $100 for a 16x20 portrait painting, but my mother knew this nurse makes a lot of money as an RN, so she said I don't know what to charge, thinking this lady would make an offer higher than $100 dollars. This instead back-fired, and this lady said she would pay me $50 to my mom, and my mom went a long with it cause she was too embarrassed to say that's too low, I guess. Anyways, The nurse comes to me and says "I am gonna have you paint a picture for me, and Im gonna share it on my facebook, where I have over 800 friends. I will even pay you for it.". She said it in a demeaning tone like my success is in her hands, to where I was embarrassed and just said "okay, thank you"?? She made me feel like I was a child, but I am 22 and in college. But it wasn't until AFTER agreeing, when my mom told me she said shed pay me $50!!?? IT TAKES ME 15 HOURS TO PAINT PORTRAITS. This woman has the nerve to pay me $3 an hour, when she makes 50-60 an hour (I know her wage cause my mom has the same nursing job). On top of this she gave me a short deadline of two weeks (for fathers day), but I am going on a trip in a week and a half so that shortens my time. I am anti-social and TERRIBLE at confrontation, WHAT THE HECK CAN I DO??? thanks! Here's my website to give you an idea of the paintings I am selling, which I showed her, so you can have an idea of how this lady is trying to con me into making her a cheap painting... https://01owlcity10.wixsite.com/christylong |
Question: My boyfriends family/living situation scares me. Am I being pretentious? Posted: 02 Jun 2018 01:01 PM PDT My best friend asked me to be his boyfriend 3 days ago, and having felt the same, I said yes. I'd never been over to his house before, and today I went. Was it an experience. I have always lived in an upper-middle class neighborhood with both parents. Drugs, homelessness or poverty was something I never dealt with. I went to my boyfriends place today, and it was like a whole other world. He lives in the more "ghetto" part of town in a tiny house with his mom and older brother, his uncle and aunt and niece a minute away. I'd never been someplace like that, so I was taken aback. His house was a mess, smelt heavily of cigarettes and marijuana. and was busted. I of course didn't say anything. but I was a little freaked out. He took his 5 y/o nice to her Dad where he and his wife were smoking and watching TV, I was coughing and getting a headache. We ran into a homeless campsite, and went back to his house to watch a movie in his room. We watched some vampire thing and cuddled. His room was like a jail cell, spray painted walls and his brothers hookah pipe in the corner. His mom came home and cussed him out for not telling her that I was coming, which scared me shitless. Adults never swore where I lived, especially at kids. I'm still freaked out about the whole thing. I love him and don't think I'm above him in any way, but his family and living situation just scares me. I'm not used to it. So am I being pretentious? How do I come to terms with reality? |

Posted: 02 Jun 2018 10:30 AM PDT Last year my father passed away suddenly. I saw him on the operation table and it obvious many different types of procedures were recently attempted to try to save him when I arrived with my mom to see him. My brother later came with his fiance and saw him before my dad was cleaned up and put in another room. Out of the blue probably a week after the funeral, my brothers fiance told my mom that she consulted her attorney and informed her that the kids(which includes my brother who she eventually married, my other brother and me)get half of the estate. I couldn't believe she would tell my mom that, like she was putting my mom on notice that my mom better not claim my dads portion of the estate(they were divorced). The fact that she did this after she was allowed in my dads hospital room and saw his bloodied body made me so angry that I lost any trust in her. I now believe she is a golddigging con artist. Her comments to my mom about the distribution of my dads estate are mean spirited in my opinion. There is an understanding that my relatives on my dads side are not welcome to be anywhere near my dads buildings due to their appalling behavior. I can argue that my brothers now wife has shown similar if not worse behavior. Therefore, I am considering banning her and her family from being on the premises of the buildings as well as i am appointed trustee of the estate. If you need more details I can provide more details in comments. |
Posted: 02 Jun 2018 10:08 AM PDT he was remorseful for the financial lies and my parents got marriage therapy so of course I forgive him. Yet, he continues to be deceptive in other areas outside of his marriage. |

Posted: 02 Jun 2018 10:01 AM PDT To do anything in the house like cooking cleaning do you think that's right that she doesn't do anything her house because she thinks she has a job and she shouldn't be doing any in the house their mother. Come home and cook and clean and do everything |
Question: Is it weird to not have your permit at 16? Posted: 02 Jun 2018 09:11 AM PDT I don't have my permit because my parents wouldn't let me get one until I did chores around the house and kept my room clean. I thought the whole thing was pretty stupid because I'm a straight A student, year round athlete, and am involved in a lot of extra curricular activities. The only thing I ever get in trouble for is not cleaning up. Now they're pressuring me to get my permit because they're tired of driving me around everywhere. But I don't feel like getting it, because I have to wait over a year after I get it before I get my license. And then I have to wait 6 months after that to start driving other people around. It just seems a lot easier to wait until I'm 18 so I don't have to go through the extra hassle and classes. Would it be weird to be 17 and still not know how to drive? Since they don't feel like driving me around everywhere I've offered to pay for Uber (since I'm getting a job soon, fingers crossed) or take the bus or lift but my dad won't let me take public transportation. Should I wait to get my permit even though I might have to miss out on parties and stuff or should I just go ahead and go through this extra process and get a permit ? |

Question: Is it bad that I hate my crushing knowing where I live? Posted: 02 Jun 2018 08:08 AM PDT There is this guy that likes me and happens to work at my job. I can barely work because he's too busy watching me. Will now he found out where I live since he lives next to me. I feel so embarrassed because it's not "my house" he's not just seeing me he's seeing my entire loud family. I feel like I have no space and privacy.. I was walking out of my car the other day then I looked back and saw him at the house next to mine with his friends just stopping and looking..don't get me wrong I do like him but I'm just not happy with this at all. Overall is this bad or normal? When it comes to guys you like being in control you don't want them creeping up and watching you leave out or knowing your business |
Question: Why do so many people have kids they can’t afford? Posted: 02 Jun 2018 08:02 AM PDT Statistics show that 1 in 5 children in the US are on welfare. If you need welfare to feed your kids, don't have kids!! |
Question: Do I need to explain to my mom why I'm home early from work? Posted: 02 Jun 2018 06:48 AM PDT I got there at 5am and was told that the water heater went out and we can't be open without hot water. I've just been sitting in a Walmart parking lot for five hours now using their WiFi because I don't want to be interrogated by my mom when I get home a few hours early. But it's getting really hot and I just want to enjoy my Saturday off since I never get them off. Can I just go home? I mean I'm 28 and shouldn't have to justify it but she's nosy and will bug me about it... |
Question: How to deal with a REALLY annoying sister? Posted: 02 Jun 2018 03:19 AM PDT She is constantly annoying my brother, hitting him constantly while he s on his laptop until he gets angry (he has issues with his anger) and gets into a huge rage. This is very bad for me because I also end up being hurt sometimes and because I have to do stuff for school a lot and the noise makes me unable to concentrate. I have been behind on a numerous amount of homework simply because I can t focus with all the screaming and shouting. She also annoys me sometimes, hoping to make me angry, but I know better than to give her this pleasure. I don t know why she still tries anymore. If my mum tries to tell her off, sometimes she does high pitched screaming. If she doesn t, she just threatens to do it, but that s enough to convince my mum not to try to sort her out. I would do the same as my mum, really. We live in a council house and we don t want the neighbours hearing screaming too much. By the way, she s 12. It s not dealing with a little kid here. |
Posted: 01 Jun 2018 11:31 PM PDT Ok so my boyfriend n I are trying to move in the next 30 days into our own place. But the problem is his mom. His mom needs to be taking care of, changed, cook her something to eat, wash her clothes, pretty much everything but for some reason my spirit is just not with it. Maybe it's because I know in my heart that I'll b the one that gotta change her adult diaper and other things. Part of me is like ok whatever but the other part is like she can live in assisted living but she can't afford it. I feel as tho my boyfriend isn't being honest cause I overheard him telling her I'm trying my best to look for a place. It's like he telling her oh I'm looking but when she see him she keep asking did u find a place? He says that she don't wanna be in a facility cause they will take all her money but on the flip side it's like what about me? I miss having my own place just us. I kno if she does live with us it won't b that way. I've been in a sunken place the last couple years it's like when I get the moment to move out in our own house here we go again with either living with family or her living with us. This topic been around the last 3 years n I feel like if I just say ok **** it she can stay with us then I don't have to hear him talk bout it anymore but I kno I won't b happy |
Question: Invasion of Privacy? Posted: 01 Jun 2018 09:46 PM PDT I am 20 years old and have recently found my bio dad after he rejected me at birth. He invited me to live with him, his wife, and my half-sister for the summer, so I happily obliged and thought it would be a nice experience. Little did I know that they put a tracking device on my car and phone. They have read my personal text messages while I have been asleep, and rummaged through my drawers to find my lingerie and other personal Items. After finding these items while I was working out of town, they called to tell me that they had packed up my things for me and I had one week to leave. I was called a whore and a bad influence on my sister. They accused me of lying about my whereabouts by not informing them of where I was (at my boyfriend's house, out of town, etc) but I am 20 years old. I'm currently moving back into my apartment. Is this a normal family dynamic? They don't believe they have overstepped any boundaries, however I believe that they did and I would like some insight. |
Question: How do u get ur mother to put a chastity cage on u? Posted: 01 Jun 2018 09:11 PM PDT |
Question: Mother daughter conflict.? Posted: 01 Jun 2018 08:47 PM PDT As of right now I m wondering if her boyfriend is doing more harm than good. Me and my mom used to fight a lot worse. We all live under the same roof. Me, my son, her and her boyfriend. Her boyfriend has never liked me. He never says anything positive. Sure what he says may be true but I think it s not helping. Me and my mom fight a lot but what I m concerned about is her mood changes when her boyfriend is around. Like today we had a great day. Lots of laughing. We had our friend over and we were all in the spa and my son was splashing and things were great. I leave to take my son to baseball practice and when I return she is in complete hate mode towards me. And when I left we just had a fun day and things were good. I ask what s wrong and she tells me "oh you don t give me attitude one day and we re fine?" I m curious if it s bad that whenever she s with her boyfriend in her room all the talk between them is him talking negatively about me. I m wondering if that would stress our situation and not make it any better because he s there fueling her brain and reminding her what a f*** up her daughter is. Thanks for any response. |
Question: I hate my sister more than anything...? Posted: 01 Jun 2018 07:03 PM PDT She's 20 I'm 22, I'm happy with my life, although I wish my grades were better. So my attitude sucks, not only does she fight with me but everyone else in the house. she always thinks she's better than everyone ESPECIALLY me, I'll admit she's gorgeous and has better grades, but she'll literally bring me down every day. She's shy so doesn't have many friends so I try and take her out with mine, but she doesn't appreciate it. She calls me ugly and dumb and fights for no reason, it seems she fights on purpose so she can humiliate me. I try my best to let things go so my family doesn't get upset but I can only take so much. In public she fights so she can call me ugly and dumb, and praise herself. I have to talk to her when we're with other family because it's embarrassing for my parents, but she doesn't give a f***. If we don't have family coming over we don't talk for months sometimes. She gets joy in bringing me down, I feel humiliated. She does take medicine that "gives her an attitude" what my parents say but I've been taking her bs for years now, how do I deal with this? |
Question: Annoying little cousin? Posted: 01 Jun 2018 06:34 PM PDT My 10 year old cousin and her mom are coming to stay with us over the summer because they are planning on moving to where we live and need to go house searching. The thing is that I absolutely despise my cousin. She is the most spoiled and bratty person I have ever know. She always would throw tantrums if things doesn t go her way. She would also steal my stuff and not give it back even when I ask for it back. She also calls me and my sibling names. I also can t go anywhere without her copying me like if I want to hang out with friends she would want to go also and when I say no she gets all mad and tell my mother about it. My mother also becomes unreasonable when she s around as she blames everything on my siblings or me even when its her fault. She had stayed with us a few times before but now she s gonna be living at the same city as us. How do I deal with this? I feel like exploding. |
Question: Should I runaway from my narcissistic mother?? Posted: 01 Jun 2018 04:29 PM PDT I'm 15 years old. On my way to the tenth grade in August. I want to move in with my aunt. Me and my mom don't get along. She's always been a emotionally abusive person, plus the people that she's been in relationships with we're all abusive in some way. They even start arguments with me and make my mom go against me even more. One of her boyfriends were so crazy when I was 12 I saw him put a gun to her head. My aunt is accepting me with open arms. The thing is my mom is financially unstable an receives my check from v/a . (I get the check because my father was retired from the military and he's dead). If I leave will i be able to take my check with me? And if I was to go could she go to the court and fight for me to come back? I really don't want to stay. But should i leave? Please help! I really need advice. |
Question: Why don't my parents wanna talk to me? Posted: 01 Jun 2018 03:22 PM PDT My parents always asked to visit, they would call me everyday! Now I almost hear nothing from them. |
Question: Should I mind my own business? Posted: 01 Jun 2018 02:54 PM PDT My mom wanted to buy herself a laptop. When Christmas came around last year she bought it but she gave it to my brother. My brother never used it and he just let it sit in his room for the whole year. Yesterday he gave it back to my mom asking her to sell it for him and give him the money because he'd rather have the money. My brother is an alcoholic and whenever he has money all he does is buy liquor. He sits in his room and gets drunk and then he comes out of his room and starts **** with all of us being an angry drunk. When I say all of us, it's my mom, dad, me and my other brother. I'm just so tired of his **** and it's obvious he can't have money because he only buys vodka with it. My mom believes he can handle his liquor and she feels bad that he doesn't have money. But I don't trust him. Am I just being mean? Should I mind my own businesss? |
