But I 21F met my 22M BF almost a year ago and we've seen each other almost everyday since. A couple months in I had a meltdown and told him this wouldn't work out because of my personal goals. I've had several more since then for that same reason but this weekend didn't help when he flipped out and cussed at me. I wasn't talking to him so he called many times everyday apologizing and came to my house to bring me a dessert he made and a handwritten letter, which said that he was deeply sorry and I didn't deserve the way he took his anger out on me and his stress due to his disease, work and dealing with his depressed, suicidal dad and dysfunctional family didn't help. Him and I know we both have family issues but he lives at home and I don't so we deal with them differently. A day later he called once again to ask if he could see me and I finally caved after 3 days and said yes. We barely talked but everything quickly went back to normal. I asked him why he hasn't asked about what happened this weekend and he said he hasn't thought about it, which hurt because I tell him all the time I feel like I focus all my time and energy on the relationship instead of myself now. I've asked if we could be friends but he always freaks out because he knows I'll barely talk to him. He recently spilled that he'd feel alone if I left him. I feel bad but I need to do what's best. Please help. |
