Hi everyone! I'm a 15 year old gay male (in the closet) and my best friend happens to be a girl. Today my parents told me that I can't hang out with her- or anybody for that matter without an adult at the house. Our hangout place is usually at her house because she had a nicer house (and a pool). I would gladly go over to her place with a parent home, it's just that her parents have work and they're never home. We don't really hang out at my place that often because there's really not much to do. I don't do drugs or drink alcohol, and i don't foresee me in that situation in the future, and neither does she. I haven't done anything to break their trust and i've been on my best behavior. I've tried reaching out and asking what their reasoning was, and all i've gotten was "Because you're children", "There's going to be certain temptations" (I think they mean sex or drugs and alcohol) or "Because I said so". I m a single guy in my 30 s and I don t have kids. I enjoy going out on weekends to see music or a game on tv. Like a baseball game or football. I know people who never go out at all. They sit at home and watch netflix. These are people that I know that don t have friends. Or I know people who just work and go home. They don t try to have a social life. Yes I know people who don't like bars or clubs. I mean if you didn't know anyone in you're city or area you live in wouldn't you go out.

I live in an apartment with three other people and one of my roommates (Roommate A) is a culinary student. When she started culinary college, her parents bought her an expensive set of cookware and knives. She's reluctant to let anyone use them, but me and another roommate (Roommate B) respects her wishes. However the last of my roommates (Roommate C), who just moved in a couple of months ago, thinks it's unfair she won't share her cookware. Me and Roommate B told her she needs to buy her own dishes and cookware but she claims that there is no reason to have more than one set of dishes and cookware. Who is right here? So, I've had a friend for all my life and we're both 17. I love having her as my friend, but the problem is that if I'm upset by something that she's done or she's moaning at me and I say something back, politely, she starts crying. This leads to loads of people coming over and making it seem like I've upset her, when it's the other way round. And it also means that I start feeling guilty for saying how I feel and then the issue that I'm upset about ends up never being resolved and I apologise. So now I don't end up voicing my opinions for fear of this, which leads to me bottling things up and feeling resent. Any advice? Or is there anyone who has experience of what to do? I don't want to lose my friend over this and I know things could be worse, I just want us both to be able to tell each other if there's a problem.

Where I live everyone likes to go to jail. Everybody i meet habitually gets locked up. They go to jail, get out and within a month get back in jail. Some people I know just recently made it to prison. What should I do? Everybody around here HAS been in the slammer.

I have a cousin that I am super close with that is practically my best friend. Him and I hang out a lot and I enjoy doing so. My problem is that he always has to be in control of what we do. I never get a say in it. This didn't bother me until a couple of weeks ago and it came to a head tonight. He gagued interest in a group chat about doing taco tuesday and I said "sure lets do it I know a really good place by my house" he ignored that text and decided to have everyone meet up 20 minutes away at a coffee place so we can "Figure out what to do" I didn't want to do that. (Mostly because I got ignored and i'm tired of that) So i stood my ground and said "I want to stay closer to my house." He just said "Lol K", went though with his plan and is now having a grand ole time with his friends. I've tried messaging him since and he's ignoring me. What do I do about this? If I always just go along with what he wants he's happy but I'm not but if i stand my ground he gets angry and nobody is happy.

My friend is 19 and i'm 35. I know that's a big gap, but I don't care about age. I have few friends, so I am not superficial about age. My friend is traveling Europe for 4 months, and before leaving he said I was welcome to join for a bit. He talked to me about going for the last month, and we were planning it out. I was booking flights and hotels. I was only going for 2 weeks to join him and said I would go to help him in the expensive countries. I thought he really wanted me there, as he originally suggested I come, and told me I was welcome. Then Suddenly it started feeling like he was trying to avoid having me come. I finally asked him what the problem was and he said that it was "kind of weird that I would want to go thousands of miles away to hang out with a 19yr old". That offended me lots. I'm pissed because he suggested I go, and talked all about me going, and once I put the money on the table, suddenly I am old and it is not normal. I can tell my friends hate this one friend i have and i can see why , she's kind of annoying. when we all hung out the other day she kept doing annoying things. when we were in the elevator she kept pressing all the floor numbers after we all told her to stop. and when it was time to shower / brush our teeth she didn't do any of that ( she doesn't have the best hygiene) and i can tell my friends we're grossed out. me and this girl have been friends for such a long time and i appreciate that so much but she always seems to prevent me from making new friends at school cause every one thinks she's annoying :/ i'm used to it so her annoying ness and poor hygiene seems normal but it's not to everyone else.
