Question: How to politely deal with telling my friend that I don't want him as a roommate? Posted: 29 Jun 2018 05:22 PM PDT I have a longtime friend who lives with a host of diagnosed disorders that, to put it mildly, makes it difficult to be around him for extended periods of time. Recently my roommate moved out and I put out feelers for a new one, and this friend wants in. The thing is that I do not want to live with him. I like him, but he would drive me crazy. How should I tell him that I don't want him as a roommate without it sounding too mean? |
Question: How to become more social? Posted: 29 Jun 2018 03:49 PM PDT I give off this vibe to people, they get shocked if I curse casually, some tell me I have no life, I don't understand banter, I see people I know talk to others in a way that they don't with me, everybody seems so natural at it, this is at work, I try to fit in mean I know I'm there to do my job, but I don't want to be the creep or the weirdo but is just so hard for me, they think I'm angry when I'm not, I don't how to speak in a way that doesn't sound like I'm yelling, my friends that I have my whole life are in a another city, where I live now I managed to make one friend that's it, I'm 24 male btw, when people go out what do they do?, why am I so uninteresting and boring? I wish I wasn't so awkward. |
Question: Is it ok for a guy to bring another guy food for lunch? Posted: 29 Jun 2018 03:47 PM PDT I am male and i have a close male friend. We both work at the same company but are assigned at different departments now. We used to be in the same unit and we ate lunch together. Is it ok for me to bring him food for lunch? |
Question: Is it ok to tell a guy you want to lose weight before having sex with him? Posted: 29 Jun 2018 03:12 PM PDT I asked this guy would he meet me at a hotel and he said he would next week. But I'm self-conscious about my weight. Is it ok if I tell him that I think I need to lose weight first? Why is it stupid? I feel self conscious about how I look naked. |
Question: Why would a guy ask a woman why does she take birth control? Posted: 29 Jun 2018 02:37 PM PDT I told this guy who I hookup with every once in awhile. That I had to wait until I get my birth control shot again before I could hookup with him. And he asked me why do I take birth control. I guess he's wondering if I'm having sex with someone else? |
Question: Why do people talk bad about others? Posted: 29 Jun 2018 02:16 PM PDT My friends tend to criticize other people in their conversations. It's like they don't have anything else to talk about. This isn't always the case but I don't understand why people even feel the need to talk about others. Edit |
Question: Any ideas on how to make it up for a friend for something you did? Posted: 29 Jun 2018 01:59 PM PDT I have these two friends who found out that i didn't invite them to my birthday party which at the time i wasn't really close with them but still decently close but they got upset i didn't invite them which i completely understand. I apologized and i feel terrible and i regret not inviting them and they expected my apology and we're fine but i still want to find a way to make it up to them. Any ideas? |
Posted: 29 Jun 2018 01:58 PM PDT A friend of mine is dating like the hottest guy in our school. And I love her, because she wouldn't be my friend if I didn't, but I also know that the guy is wayyyy out of her league. She is a little strange and not "in" with the "popular crew" now obviously there is nothing wrong with it and she is the greatest, but I couldn't help but wonder why they are together when he could (and has) get with any girl that he wanted. When I started thinking this it made me feel like an awful friend and I realized that this isn't the first time I've thought this with a friend of mine. I love them, and I want to be a good friend but I feel like a good friend should see their friends as beautiful and deserving of all guys, not what I think of them :/ am I at least a good friend for feeling guilty?? |
Posted: 29 Jun 2018 01:51 PM PDT I found out my mom is in a palliative condition. Every time my friend is sick I call her to see if there is anything I can do for her. I have supported her in every step of her developing music career. Yet, now when I really need a call to see if I am doing OK at the most challenging time of my life, the only thing my friend, so called friend seems to be concerned with is her to do list and when she calls me it is always about dealing with a task on her to do list - she gives lip service around Oh ya here to support you. I have been there so many times for her - I am going through pain, aloneness and grief over this recent news and I feel so unsupported, abandoned and really it leaves me to believe I have put so much more into this relationship than she has - I thought she cared about me. She only gives lip service. |

Question: Dose this living situation sound unhealthy or am I over reacting? Posted: 29 Jun 2018 12:59 PM PDT So In my current living situation I live with my best friend (A) and her friend (B). Before B moved in my best friend an I lived with my other friend who moved out to live with her fiancé. Now when B moved in last fall I knew it'd take a while to get to know her since she was new to me and a friend of A's. Despite trying to talk with her and be friendly I still feel she dislikes me and she simply just tolerates me. She never really approaches me I'm always the one who tries to chat with her or include her in things. If A isn't around I usually get this bad vibe from her like she'll be nice but it doesn't seem genuine if that makes sense. Since B has moved in A has grown distant from me, this distance was gradual which made it harder for me to accept. But now I always feel out of the loop and that I don't have a say anymore in things that include or affect all of us. Like we currently have an issue with the payment site for our rent undercharging us. They want to ignore it but I know it will just get worse if we do, especially since the correct cost is written into the lease. They hangout with each other without me most of the time, they only really invite me if I happen to be there when they make plans to go out. Sometimes they'll lie, say they are going to grab a few groceries and then come back hours later with nothing. The distance has only grown, they even avoid me in the apartment making me feel unwelcome. I've tried talking to A about this but nothings changed. There are other instances of them not listening to me or trying to come to a compromise aside from the rent issue, but thats just the most important issue I guess. |
Question: Pros and cons of having women cover up their legs? Posted: 29 Jun 2018 12:45 PM PDT pros: less rape and men staring at women cons: on a hot day it will be uncomfortable |
Question: What’s an amazing gift for my solemate?(friend sole mate!)? Posted: 29 Jun 2018 11:39 AM PDT My best friends birthday is in a few months and we are very close. Like 24/7 together close. I love her more than anyone else on the planet and I want to give her something really special if it takes me months. I would rather make it but not like a cheesy diy kind of thing. I'm an art major(we both are) and she always paints me for my birthday. I know I could paint her, but it's not that special considering we paint/sketch each other a lot. I want this to b LIFE CHANGING like best gift in a life time kind of thing. She deserves it. PLS GIVE ME SOME IDEAS! Thanks! PS i am very artistic and good at writing if that helps:) |
Question: 20 year old boy with a 16 year old girl? Posted: 29 Jun 2018 11:07 AM PDT My friend is 19 about to turn 20 in October and he's dating a girl that is 16. They had sex twice already. None of them was forced to do it they both decided and had each others conscent. Can my friend go to jail if the 16 year old girls parents find out? What are the consequences in California. |
Posted: 29 Jun 2018 10:50 AM PDT Thank you everyone for taking the time to answer. I should probably elaborate, just in case: The friend is someone my husband grew up with. We haven't seen or spoken to the friend's mom in a long time (we moved away). When my husband's father died, the friend's mom sent an email to my husband, saying she thinks of my husband as a son. I think she signed it with her first name, but I don't remember. My husband called her Mrs. when he was younger. We're in our 50s now. Not sure if that matters? But I think everyone here is correct in saying not be presumptuous or change now. Yahoo is asking me to award a best answer, but I like all the answers. I can't choose... I appreciate everyone who took the time to help us by answering the question for me. Thank you to everyone. |
Question: What should I make of this woman? Posted: 29 Jun 2018 10:16 AM PDT Ok so a former high school classmate of mine and I started talking on Facebook a few weeks ago. We're in our late 20s now, we graduated years ago. She said that she doesn't want to talk to me on social media anymore until I'm ready to hang out. I found it strange that she was giving me this ultimatum. So I talked to her and asked her about her intentions. She said she's not interested in dating. So what's the deal? |

Posted: 29 Jun 2018 07:33 AM PDT Well basically there's this dude I know since a month and we agreed we would meet up. and he kept saying he was gonna send an uber but it just seems sketchy to me that he would send an uber for me to come to his house I mean he could just pay the uber to take me far away how do i trust him? We kept saying we were going to meet and basically it just ended between us. i kept waiting several days for him to ask to meet up early but he kept saying after an hour im with friends, or he kept saying come now but it would be too late in the day. And i wanted HIM to pick me up not him to send an uber. Also, he cursed at me in my language when we talked on the phone and it was scary he was shouting the curses. Also, last we talked he said stuff like "then shut up" and "please leave me alone" and "just leave me alone" basically that's all he's saying to me and then he blocked me on snapchat. It really hurts, I liked him a lot and it ended before we even met. Please help me get over this should I find another guy? I need insights into what happened with this one. Thanks. I mean he just seems mentally unstable the way he was screaming the curses at me. Fyi I dumped my bf for him and this is what happens... I am so hurt. |
Posted: 29 Jun 2018 03:05 AM PDT It sounds feminine for a guy to say i think about another guy. I have a friend who helps mexican people find jobs in our town. He's a black male, and he's married to a woman. He recently made a video with a mexican man and posted it to Facebook saying *this sweet man is coming to our town to cook food in a restaurant*. *Lets all welcome this very sweet man.. he's worked hard for years, and we need to give him a warm welcome to our town* |

Posted: 28 Jun 2018 08:21 PM PDT She does things such as: * Gets mad at me if I'm sick or not at school because of anxiety. * Forces me to go somewhere such as church (I'm an atheist) by saying 'You have to go so I'm not alone or you're ditching me you have to come' * I've spent over $50 on her (on days out, food and birthday presents) yet she hasn't spent a cent on me or took me. * If I talk to her about my anxiety or how I feel she ignores me. * She has famous cousins, and gets offended if I do not know them or their parents/siblings. * Has never once asked me am I okay. * Manipulative. * Everything is a competition for her. |

Question: Was my friend out of line? Posted: 28 Jun 2018 07:42 PM PDT I've known John for three years, but for the last year or so he's been bad at prioritizing me. I called him out on it—he used me as a backup choice, for his nights out. We haven't phoned or talked in months, and this week I noticed he called me at 8:30 in the morning. I screened it, and later on Facebook he posted in his status update that he needed jumper cables for his car! He was calling me for jumper cables, right?? Why would he think it's ok to call me after months of not talking to me, to get something like that? Does he really think he can get away with it, since I've stopped letting him use me? I feel like he's so dense! |

Posted: 28 Jun 2018 06:47 PM PDT My group of friends we're at school today, apart from one, now she's blaming me for being alone, she's getting really mad at me. I don't find this fair because she has the ability to go make new friends yet she clings onto me so much. Is it okay for her to feel this way to me? |
