Question: I feel bad missing my brother's high school graduation? Posted: 20 Jun 2018 01:16 PM PDT My youngest brother graduates high school on Saturday. He is 8 years younger than me and has been there for all of my celebrations. From swimming competitions in high school and college, to high school, college, and my master's degree graduations. His graduation is this weekend and I have to work. I'm a physician assistant at a large hospital and I must work 2 weekends a month. I tried switching with coworkers and I already was off for Father's Day and our family vacation this month. If I call off this weekend, I might get written up or lose my job. My older brother is missing the graduation because of a wedding he is in. And my mom is furious that only one of our brothers can attend the ceremony. I feel bad but there's only so much time I can take off. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks |
Question: Why do schools make boys and girls swim together in gym class? Posted: 20 Jun 2018 11:54 AM PDT at my daughters schools from 8th -10th grade, in PE she attends the swim unit and boys and girls have it together? Why is this allowed? Wouldn't this make girls feel uncomfortable and give immature boys an opportunity to harass and humiliate girls? And cause distractions and goofing off among everyday? Not to mention young boys will be shirtless around young girls and I think that is inappropriate especially in a school setting My daughter keeps saying she does not care but she is young and may not understand how wrong this is this just seems wrong especially at school. Giving a boys a chance to leer at girls like this this class also pretty much just gives students to look at all the other students in bathing suits. Girls shouldn't be forced to be in this situation with boys and fear harassment can people really say honestly that young boys and girls will concentrate on swimming while they are around each other in bathing suits and not goof off? That boys (who aren't known for sensitivity) won't use this opportunity to harass or tease girls? what reason do they have to put them together? They can easily separate boys and girls buy taking the boys of another gym class and putting them with the boys in the gym class doing the swim unit and the same with girls. Cam someone please tell me the benefits and why exactly boys and girls should swim together in school? What is the reason? |
Posted: 20 Jun 2018 11:40 AM PDT My brother has always been a little chubby. He was never obese just had a little bit of extra weight on him. As for being athletic and doing things that was never his thing. In his life he has never done sports or any other physical activity. He was a bit lazy in that sense. When he was a kid he used to measure which road to school was the closest so he would walk as little as possible. But now he is he getting really over weight. My guess is that in about 12-18 months he has gained like 25kg (50lbs) and weighs close to 135 kg (300 lbs). Which is a lot. My parents have tried talking to him but it's hard, which I understand. He gets upset and doesn't like to talk about it. It's all in good intention but it's not the easiest to talk about. So they want me to talk to him. A couple of years ago I had back problems because I sat too much. So I started seeing a personal trainer and she helped me with my back and got my into shape. They want me to try and talk him into doing the same. But me and him are not that close to be honest. He is a difficult person to talk to and is not the most open off people. 6 months ago I did send him my food diary and my weekly workout program and we talked about him using that if he felt for it. But other than that I don't know what I can do. He is a grown man. I can't force him to go to the gym. I can barely force myself at times. What would you do in this situation? |

Question: My mom gave up on me...? Posted: 20 Jun 2018 09:23 AM PDT This morning she asked me to show her something bt I was playing a game and I said no bc i was occupied,so she does the "Its okay I wont bother you anymore face" which leads to damage control. So, she started to ignore me after that then she came in the room and said "Im done taking care of you, nobody helps me and i have to play both roles..etc" so she continues and she says Im old enough to move out and go on my own (Im 15) and that Im evil just like the rest of the people who dont want to help her and brung her down. She also suggested that If I dont want to drop out of school and work to find a place then i can try out a foster home. I dont know what to do anymore tbh and this is not the first time my mother did this she threaten that she'd put me in a foster home. I just I wish I had true parents... that truly love me I get no love at home.. I hear problems from my mom everyday about how life is hard which leads her to being brutal in her actions ( she came from a poor country). I need help because my home is poisionous and it sometimes make me want to kill myself. Please suggest some options on what I can do..? |
Question: What to do when a mother is constantly seeking for unnessecary fights? Posted: 20 Jun 2018 05:43 AM PDT So I got into this fight with my mother after a long time going well with no fights. She isn't really in a good condition (not something major) and I along with my siblings try to help her as much as we can. As for yesterday she would tell others we dont take care of her blabla and I told her if she feels that way that I am not helping her she can figure it out on her own then/ask my siblings. Later on, she'd tell me during the fight "it was just a joke, you were the one who took it seriously" I just dont like the fact, she is telling others I dont do **** when I actually am, basically this is how it always goes when we fight. And she never apologizes even when she knows she wrong for doing so. She is just filling up my mind with so much bad energy, right now i'm just avoiding her cause I just dont want to deal with her. And waste my energy because of her. |
Posted: 20 Jun 2018 04:39 AM PDT She is a good person if single. She is a worthless wife. They have no kids as she divorced him cause he couldn't get her pregnant. So would this be a good joke since I will likely never see her again or would this be tasteless? She is a mean wife but a good person otherwise. |

Question: Does my fifteen year old cousin have bad taste in music/entertainment and life in general? Posted: 20 Jun 2018 02:51 AM PDT Just to give you some perspective of his age: My fifteen year old cousin has just finished his freshman year and he will be 16 this December. He likes to watch shows like "Dora" "Paw Patrol" and these other kids shows. He listens to kids bop (whatever it's called) and listens to Gucci Mane and Chance The Rapper. He still watches Spongebob and tunes into the nick jr. shows like rusty rivits. I'm only 3 years older than him and I don't know what this crap is. I can't hold a conversation with him because he talks about these weird movies that came out in the early 2000s (which are obscure and not even good) and doesn't even know about basic history and knowledge. He thought 9/11 happed in September 2011, and the us was founded in the early 1800s. Who am I to judge but what do I do! What do I say? I don't wanna be mean. He is a normally functioning teenager he's not crazy, or joking around, he's actually serious about this stuff. At first I Thought this was some kind of joke but it wasn't. Time to go anonymous cause I don't want him to see my profile lol I havent slept in 36 hours so yeah I have had grammar |
Question: Grandmother died without a will, who gets the house ? Posted: 19 Jun 2018 11:56 PM PDT Me and my grandmother were extremely close, she raised me on my father's behalf when he had ms. Eventually she got very sick & her other son (she had two children him & my father.) I stayed with her as well to help care for her. My uncle & his wife would smoke, drink & take her pills without permission as well as would try abusing me as a minor. When I was 17 my uncle tried hitting my & my grandmother called the cops. They called my mother to take me away from the abusive household & my grandmother threatened to kill herself if I left..that was the last time I'd ever see her again. After that I got 1 phone call & never got a response,I tried stopping by and knocking, calling, even calling aps. It had been two years since I heard from her & I saw on Facebook she had passed..no one told me or let me know. I'm completely devastated. What's worse is that these horrible people who did my grandmother wrong are still in the home & I want them out! She didn't leave a will but my father is deceased so it's just me and my uncle. Does part of that house belong to me?if so how do I go about trying to take it from them? I'm hurt they didn't let me be there for her in her last days & she would always say she wanted the house sold and the money split. |
Posted: 19 Jun 2018 11:14 PM PDT My fights get pretty bad. I have scratches covering my entire back from my younger brother. We were kicking and choking each other inside of a pool. My older brother punched me so hard in the arm one time the pain lasted for 3 days. I seriously thought he damaged my bone somehow. But those are mediocre story's. Like one time, my little brother was so dang annoyed that he chased me with a steak knife. Or the time that my older brother taunted me so much that I kicked his door and put a hole in it. Any interesting story's you could add to your comments would be awesome. Thanks for your time. 👍 |
Posted: 19 Jun 2018 09:59 PM PDT I'm 23, been working since I was 17 and living with my mother helping out with the bills and the house seeing as how now I'm the only income. I'd say for about the past 5 years living with her has been getting rapidly worse. I work 5-6 nights a week and sleep during the day obviously and all I hear is how I do nothing but sleep all day and I don't contribute to the house at all. Mind you 75-80 percent of my paychecks go to her and the house, reasons why I can't save to get a car. It's also gotten to the point where she's drinking almost everyday and causing ruckus through the neighborhood with loud music etc, it's preventing me from being able to get any decent sleep, I'm running on fumes and I can't seem to relax long enough to recharge. She calls me drunk when I'm at work screaming at me over nonsense, threatening to kick me out and how I'm a lousy son blah blah blah. I'm so used to hearing it that I've pretty much blocked out any emotion for her, I desperately want to leave, I'm paying all this money for a house that I can't even sleep in. My only problem is the guilt, do I just pack up and leave knowing she will go homeless because she can't afford to live there or do I try one more time to see if she'll change? It seems like I'm paying for everything in the house, but I have no say under "her" roof as she puts it. Also I've noticed that it's started to affect my mental health and my social life, I'm getting more depressed every day. What do I do? |
Question: Help..persuading my mom not to come.10pts:D? Posted: 19 Jun 2018 09:56 PM PDT I scheduled an appointment for a dermal filler(touch up) but my mom does not know. How can I go without her knowing, I was thinking of pretending to head to the mall but I feel she might want to join, how do I persuade her not to? |
Question: So my dad called me a fatass.? Posted: 19 Jun 2018 09:10 PM PDT So my dad asked me to make some popcorn. But I sat there for just 10 more minutes. So he gets up to go in the kitchen and so I follow him. He says "oh so now u get ur fatass off the couch." And walked back the the family room. I started to cry so I went outside quick and sat on my garage. He comes out 10 mins later and sits in the chair next to me and says that he was sorry and he didn't mean it, he was just mad. I didn't say a single word to him. He sat there for at least 20 mins. Then went back in to go to bed.. So ya that's what happened and this just happened. And it's hard enough that my period is almost here and I get emotional easily. And I'm very self conscious about my weight becuz I am overweight, but I still eat healthy and take regular 2 mile walks every other day. I just don't know how to feel or how to deal with this. Any suggestions on what I should do. It just makes me so sad |
Question: If my parents asked me to move out then should they have any say in where I go? Posted: 19 Jun 2018 09:01 PM PDT As I'm graduating this year and am 18, my parents have asked me to move out on my own. There's nothing too harsh about it. I knew this would happen and they've been helping me save. My Uncle has offered to let me live in his old RV. It has electricity and I can go inside his home to shower. He says I can live there rent free in return for help with lawn care and fire wood. My parents think I should find a "real' place to live and are fighting with my uncle to take back his offer. They say I won't learn anything, and that I need to get out in the real world. Am I wrong to think my parents are over reaching since they're the ones asking me to move out? |
Posted: 19 Jun 2018 08:11 PM PDT What do I do about this? She gets me off like no other women can. I want to be with her. But my Dad is married to her as of 8 years. The sex is so f*cking good and she's beautiful, but she's threatening Me to not snitch |

Question: I don't want to teach my kids how to drive or drive them. Am I normal? Posted: 19 Jun 2018 07:46 PM PDT I refuse to pay $900 for car insurance a month for them, and I refuse to get them an ID and an ssn and drive them so they can get jobs to pay for that. I refuse to teach them to drive and refuse to buy them a junk $400 dollar car to share. I don't even buy them phones or games I only allow them(17) to use my computer for their online homeschooling. Public trasnport is 30 miles from us. Am I normal? |

Question: I’m almost 18 and my mom wants to get me a babysitter? Posted: 19 Jun 2018 07:02 PM PDT I'm a 17 year old girl, I get good grades in school, I always go where I say I am and come home on time, and I work over 40 hours a week currently. My mom wants to get me a babysitter because she's going out with a friend and how do I convince her not to? This makes me very uncomfortable and she is pushing my boundaries. I am very close to running away because she gives me no freedom, and accuses me of doing meth. I have a 3.7 GPA, I am in a managing position at my job, and she treats me like I don't do **** when I grind. |

Question: Life. Help me, please? Posted: 19 Jun 2018 06:01 PM PDT Okay, I've been going through it for about a year now and I don't know how much more I can take. My mother and step father just recently split up. He was very abusive and I grew up in a incredibly toxic environment and he's finally gone. That's a great thing. Except my mother is 50 years old and has been through a lot and all she wants is to move on with her life but he makes it really hard. I can't do much to help her there but it stresses me out because it's my mother. I moved to California from New York for 2 years but since they split I moved back home to help her out. I'm 25 years old and I had plans! It does help to not pay bills but I'm currently typing this from my bright pink childhood bedroom. My boyfriend of 7 months but feels like 7 years in back on Cali and just lost his job. That payed 100k a year and all because he chose to spend all day arguing with me about some nonsense on the phone today and kept being late from breaks. Trust me I tried blocking him and not talking to him but he found a way to call me. Just insanity. I got a job serving at a restaurant but I used up all my money getting back to New York and I need to buy a uniform for work but I have no money to do it. Idk what my question is. Just is anyone else going through too much to handle and how do you deal?????? |
Question: My mom got robbed and idk what to do? Posted: 19 Jun 2018 05:43 PM PDT My mom thinks my dad stole her luggage but I really don't think he'd do that and he of course Denys it. I looked all around the house but couldn't find her luggage. I believe thinks I robbed her. I'm already very depressed and have been contemplating suicide. Is possible jail time for something I really didn't do actually the final nail in my coffin. |
Posted: 19 Jun 2018 04:23 PM PDT I am an American (who can do an almost perfect British accent), I really want to move to London, not just for the accent but also because of all the stuff that is going on relating to politics. I am 14 years old. My mom and dad are on some kind of "disability plan". I don't really get it. I think dad hurt his leg last time he worked and it's still not completely cured. I really wanna move out of the USA before the laws start getting really bad and they don't let people move out of the US. I am wondering how much it costs to rent a house or apartment (or flat as I like to say), how much it costs to become a citizen, how much it costs to buy a meal at McDonald's, how much for cable (I hear you have to have something called a TV license to watch TV at all, even just to watch local TV like BBC One), how much they pay at different types of jobs (like call centers, except with -re and not -er, McDonald's restaurant fry cook, supermarket cashier, custodian, etc) and how much a computer costs. Thank you. Hope you can help. I really want to get out of this heck-hole before it gets really bad. |
Question: Is it rude to tell your inlaws to not take photos of your child? Posted: 19 Jun 2018 03:54 PM PDT My boyfriends family (mom, sisters) are planning to come after I give birth to my son, I'm not sure if they wanted to come as soon as possible or a couple days when he's already been home for awhile, either way my problem is I don't want them taking pictures and posting them on social media but I don't know how to go about that? I'm not close with them whatsoever, me and his family are still at the hi and bye stage, and I don't like the idea of them posting my child to their followers on social media whom I don't know either.. I just don't want to seem rude about it.. |
Posted: 19 Jun 2018 03:34 PM PDT Here is some more background information on me. I'm in college I'm no longer in high school I graduated. I met my 19 now 20 year old boyfriend at my college, and my parents met my boyfriend before I got pregnant they approved of him. I snuck to his house and my parents forbid me to see him ever again. My mom changed her mind because she knew I loved him, but my dad wasn't going for it. I got pregnant that day I went to his house, and now my dad is forcing us to be apart still. My mom is against what my Dad is saying she said "he got my daughter pregnant now he needs to be at the house, going to doctors appointments, and taking care of me." His family wants to meet me and my mom. My mom is all for it , but my dad wants them to stay away. I'm so confused on what to do. Should I still see him ? I don't want him to get into trouble, but I have my mothers consent |
Question: Cousin is mooching off my parents and sharing my room. What do I do? Posted: 19 Jun 2018 03:05 PM PDT so my cousin has been living with us for about year. And because I have the biggest room (the basement), he shares the room with me. This was supposed to be a 6 month thing and ended up being a one year thing. He hasn't been looking for a new place, he hasn't made an effort to save money, he spends way too much money on weed and just plays video games all day. It's really stressful for me because I've never had my own room and when I finally got my own room he moved in. My parents are very fed up with him but don't want to ruin their relationship with him. Him and I fight all the time mostly becuase he doesn't clean up after himself and I am physically tired of cleaning up after him all the time. Recently we got into a big argument because he's angry that I tell my mom how dirty he is becuase she ends up yelling at him to clean up. But I have no choice becuase when I tell him to clean up he just yells at me and spoils endings of tv shows and video games to get me out of the room. He's 28 years old and I'm a 22 year old woman. I can't even bring my friends or boyfriend over because his clothes are all over the floor. I just really don't know what to do at this point. What do I do? |
