My wife is beside herself at the idea, she thinks three years is too much and that when our daughter is 12-13 that her friend will be pressuring her to act like she's an older teen. I don't see the problem, they've only been friends for a few weeks. My best friend was my brother growing up and we were 6 years apart. |

Among a million other things I was mad at her about, one thing that bothered me is that when she came to my house have deep, psychological conversations with my mom or dad for 3 fricking hours while I was in my room waiting for her and I felt very unwelcomed when I tried to join in (her and I always talk about deep stuff so it wasn't like she was striving for an intellectual equal or anything). It was like lately, she felt the need to be best friends with my parents, and I just got this flavor that she considered me and them on the same "best friendship" level and it really bothered me? She confided things in them she never told me (I feel like it's a pride thing on her part) and I just got and still have this urge to throw up whenever I think about it. My mom thought it was weird too but she was trying to be polite. Anyway, In our huge argument that ended the friendship, I told her it bothered me, and she said she was just trying to be polite by talking to them (for 3 hours by yourself?? wtf. I would never go and talk to her mom for 3 hours while she was upstairs in her room). I guess I'm just wondering if ya'll would find what she was doing to be really inappropriate too, or am I just being weird? :P |

Well. She told me just has a friend who is anorexic/bulimic and doesn't care what happens to her, she just wants to be skinny. I can't really tell you much about her, but even my friend isn't very close with this girl, she just feels bad because she used to be the same way. She said only one helped heal her, which is her bf. She said there's more to it than just him but she wouldn't elaborate (again only Internet friends). Anyways, my friend tried to support her healing, and tries to make her eat, but, like she just told me, hung up the FaceTime and was sending her pictures of super skinny girls and said "I want to look like them." Again I don't really know anything about her except that support/asking her to eat or anything like that doesn't work. If you have any ideas, please, please let me know. I don't know her personally but I still feel really bad for her. |

She started walking upstairs and I yelled at her to wait but she didn't hear me ( In the past I have been a little rough with her but I stopped, every time I got too rough she would slap me , and I don't blame her) So I ran up the stairs to talk to her and right when I got there she fell hard and thought I pushed. So she slapped me across the face and left a scab and bruise. I grabbed her hand and pulled her up the stairs hard to talk in private about what happened. As I pulled her she fell again and I waited for her and asked if she was ok. As we were walking to our lockers I asked her why she slapped me and she said that she didn't want to see me. She yelled at me and then came back and apologized and I could tell it was sincere. But she left a mark on my face right next to my eye. Do I just forgive and forget? |

I just feel that if I continues to abstain I am missing out on a big part of most peoples "High school experience" and not living my youth to the fullest, I am almost never invited to parties cause I don't talk to really anyone but in my close circle of friends they drink and smoke and I'm always the odd man out. One day he impulsively joined the Marines,he told me he wanted to make something of himself. I knew his ex aswell. We were all the same age. Then he deployed to Iraq.Our town didn't suffer any war casualties sinceWWII. Then it happened. He had died in action. For the next few weeks there were american flags all over town,bagpipers playing amazing grace,really we live in a small town but at his funeral it seemed the entire state was there. Last saturday afternoon I was sitting at his grave and thought: he joined because his gf left him.She told me she felt bad he died so young.I cannot help but think that after 10 years he's gone but that girl now lives her life happily and most of my friends have forgotten about him.Is there a way he can be remembered? But when, hanging with friends changed into trying to find girls, be in relationship and all that, I stopped going out and very soon became an outsider... Ever since 8th grade, I've spent all of my days playing video games. Every one of my friends seemed to only care about girls, whereas I didn't... Although, the reward of being in a relationship is good, it takes too much effort. Too much time, for only temporary pleasures. However, I'm 20 now, and I don't see the point of playing video games all the time, but I still don't want to be in a relationship. Let s say the girls are Sara, Caroline, Mary, Sally, and me. The boy is let s say Matt. Matt came into the group because he started dating Mary, the rest of us slowly became close friends with him. After they had been together for about a two years they broke up, because they both liked someone else it wasn t dramatic or anything. We all all still friends with Matt a year after the breakup. Today, after swimming, in the shower, I ran into a colleague I know is a lesbian. The gym has open showers around poles & it really freaked me out to run into her there. I said hi briefly, awkwardly crossing my arms over my breasts as we talked.....& then I hightailed it to the locker room to get dressed w/out having really taken my shower. Intellectually I'm not bothered that she's in the locker room, & I know she kept good eye contact the entire time we chatted, but somehow KNOWING she was a lesbian and I was butt naked...it made me uncomfortable. When I called my sister on my way to work she chastised me for being homophobic & a colleague just agreed with her. Am I horribly insensitive and don't even know it? | Question: My friends wife is cheating on him? Posted: 18 Apr 2016 12:11 PM PDT This is a little complicated. My best friend (L) is sleeping with the wife of another one of my close friends (T). L thinks that he is in love with this girl and that she is going to leave T. L only knows T as this girls husband. They don't really know each other though. The issue I'm having is that L I'd just an all around better guy than T. T is my friend no matter what but he can be an asshole and he's cheated on his wife many times. With several different women and from what I've seen he isn't very nice to her either. I don't know if T's wife actually plans to leave him for L but it wouldn't surprise me. Should I tell T what's going on or should u just stay out of it. Or should I try to convince L to leave the whole thing alone. I know him and he honestly believes he loves this girl. |

| Question: How do I convince my mom to let me go out the house for a few hours? Posted: 18 Apr 2016 11:34 AM PDT I haven't seen this guy who I'm best friends with for almost a year. Saturday is the day in which he's supposed to come to my neighborhood to visit me(apartments). I have a really strict mom so I don't know how I'm going to convince her to let me out especially since she doesn't like me hanging out with guys. I don't want to tell her about it. I need some sort of excuse to get out the house for 5 hours at the least. I have already used the project with a friend excuse. Plus we're going to be hanging out in the back of the neighborhood so.. what do I do? |

I have a few items planned already based on her likes and hobbies, however I'm hoping to get some insight on things grad school students need/use quite often. So far I thought of index cards, post-it notes and flags, as well as highlighters. Also thinking of including some relaxation stuff - i.e. face mask, body spray. Can you think of anything else?? |

Posted: 18 Apr 2016 10:11 AM PDT Ok so, I have this friend of mine that literally copies everything that I do and we've been friends since kindergarden and right now I'm in 7th grade. It all started in 5th grade when I decided I wanted to make an Instagram account so I did and told her about it, and she made one. Then, she starts copying me about me liking anime, she said she disliked anime, and now all the sudden she likes it? I also told her about how I like POCKY and now she eats it all the time and rubs it in my face once she buys a box. She also copies the way I type and text. Also, I started aesthetically posting on Instagram with really nice photos and now she's copying me with that too! She also copies this band I like called twenty one pilots and im about done. I confronted her about it and she says she didn't copy me which is completely a lie. Please help!!! |
| Question: Am I being completely homophobic? Posted: 18 Apr 2016 10:07 AM PDT I'm 24, straight, and have several gay friends. I've never found myself to be homophobic at all. I'm a former college swimmer and still swim in the mornings before work. Today, after swimming, in the shower, I ran into an aquaintance I know is a lesbian. The gym has wide open showers (around poles) and it really freaked me out to run into her there. I said high briefly, awkwardly (and I'm worried obviously) crossing my arms over my breasts as we talked.....and then I hightailed it to the locker room to get dressed without having really taken my shower. Intelectually I'm not bothered that she's allowed to use the locker room, and I know she kept good eye contact the entire time we chatted, but somehow KNOWING she was a lesbian and I was butt naked.....it made me uncomfortable. When I called my sister on my way to work she chastised me for being homophobic. And a colleague just agreed with her. Am I horribly insensitive and don't even know it? Am I crazy? Caroline---by allowed I wasn't implying that that should even be in question. But lately in the news the far right has been making a big thing out of gays, lesbians, and/or transgender people using public restrooms etc. What I meant was that, intelectually, I think that is offensive to act like they are different and shouldn't be able to use public space. Intelectually I'm sure lesbians have showered with me and that thought doesn't bother me. Yet, when I KNEW a woman was, it scared me. To be clear, I've used open showers in college (I was a swimmer) and since, and I'm not massively modest. And it doesnt even bother me (in the least) that I'm sure MANY lesbians have seen me. This isn't me thinking they all are really checking me out, I don't think that. It's just that today, standing there buck naked and nowhere to hide, surprised to be face to face with someone I KNOW likes girls, I panicked and freaked out. And also to be clear, I didn't make a beeline past her to the door. I crossed my arms across my breasts (but I was still otherwise nude) and talked to her for a few seconds (hello, how are you doing, etc), then I left acting like I was finished with my shower (even though I wasn't) |

Posted: 18 Apr 2016 09:59 AM PDT I'm a 17 year old boy but when i was about 11 or 12 there was this girl i knew and we HATED each other, we would see each other around town and if looks could kill we'd both be dead that's how much we hated each other, to this day i still can't remember why or if there was even a reason. fast forward to last week i started my first day as a cashier at a Winn-Dixie, and i turns out she works in the same store, and omg now she's nice and sweet and really funny.....its so strange that we went from enemies to good friends.....what happened in those 5 years? |
| Question: Why are some people at my school rude? Posted: 18 Apr 2016 09:58 AM PDT Every day, all I hear about is drama at my school. There was even a time I was walking to the bus after school and one of the girls I knew was yelling at another girl about something, but the girl who was being yelled at was already going on the bus. I also remember on my first day of 8th grade, I was walking to my locker with the Jr. High counselor and I saw her running to a certain part near the lockers. Turns out, she was breaking up a fight between two girls. For the personal stuff, though, it was mostly girls who were targeting on me during my Jr. High days. I remember I would be in choir and I could hear a couple girls mention my name behind me. I would turn back and ask, "What are you talking about?" They only said stuff like, "What?" as if they never knew what was just happening. I reported this to the principal, as it went on for weeks, but I was proven wrong FOR NO REASON. Today, I was getting food for lunch out of a refrigerator on ala carte. The door on the refrigerator has two doors sliding opposite directions. I was getting a water bottle out of one end with a door open and I felt that door closing on my arm as I was getting the water bottle. Turns out, it looked like a girl I didn't know closed the door on me just to get something out from the other side. I just looked at her and she told me, "Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't see you there." I knew she actually wasn't sorry because her and her friend laughed after she said that. Why are people at my school so rude? Plus, those girls that were mentioning my name, they were saying negative comments. |

They then assumed that I was acting like the victim. I didn't believe them but no I do. After the whole fight I felt like a terrible person and felt guilty. I couldn't stop thinking of the same situation that happened a long time ago and i felt that that it was all of my fault. I couldn't sleep for a week after that. And many months I couldn't stop thinking about how terrible I was. There's times where I am happy for a temporary time and it makes me upset. Please help |

I don't know how to change how I feel and I know if I don't it'll be the end of our friendship and I really like everything about this girl |

She sometimes gives me nasty looks and I had the suspicion she was gossiping about me. I am in secondary school. When I came to my next class a few girls and her were waiting for the teacher by the door. They seemed quiet when I came and I thought they had been gossiping about me. I said nothing. My good friend Sam started making small talk with me all was fine. I went in and my friends were talking. We were chatting in a group or whatever. I started getting extremely upset I was still convinced they had been gossiping with the other girl. I was trying to not cry, I never cry. I started crying when just my friend and I were alone she hugged me we went to the bathroom. Apparently I was just being paranooid, she never heard anything about it. When I went back my teacher forced me to talk with my year head tomorrow . I don t want to say anything what is a good excuse for crying??? I could say Im on my period but that would be awkward.. Please help!!!! |
