My mom found I out I smoked weed this morning, she had already known I smoked weed she just never caught me in the act. I'm 14 years old and I do have a relationship with my father, I'm not that close to him. My mom literally flipped out this morning & took my door off and everything. I feel as if like right now is a living hell, one because I can't smoke and for two me & my mother aren't on speaking terms. She told me this morning she'd send me to a juvenile detention center if come 30 days I test positive, OR I have to go live with my dad which I don't mind in a sense. However if I'm unable to stay with my father can my mother legally send me to a program like PINS even though I haven't committed a crime?

Question: Why did my dad tell my mom to not ever hit him in front of his kids again? Whys he care? Does he think we will be scared of my mom?

My mom hit him while he was eating his chicken idk why. Shes crazy. And he said to me to get out of the room and take my little sister with me. So we left, but we just went into the hallway. so we herd him tell my mom to not ever hit him in front of his kids again. Wtf. Shouldn't he just say, don't hit me again. Whys he care we saw?? So my daughter and I have started staying at my boyfriends house most the time so I brought clothes for us to have here my daughter is 8 , well his daughter got snotty, she is a sassy 12 year old, when I started hanging my daughters clothes in her closet that has a lot of space BTW and her dad told me I could. She said she didn t want her clothes there and didn t want her moving into her room though she has not seemed to have many problems with her sleeping in her bed for the past few weeks. I have told my bf I want to make sure she is ok with us coming into her space I want to make sure she doesn t feel put out or whatever and I told him what she said well he just told her to stop being a brat and to knock it off but I really worry she will be angry with us for coming into her space ya know but he just says she s being a brat and will be fine . so I guess my question is how do I deal with or what can I do to make sure she doesn t feel like were invading her space and what I can I do to make her feel more comfortable with us moving in . she really hasn t seemed to mind to much about it till now her and my daughter get a lot pretty well other than both being strong independent girls who both like to be the boss and she has a bit of an attitude that may be worse do to her age and my daughter is also starting to find her voice and get a bit of sassyness. So, at the end of December, I plan to go on a 3 week trip to a different state. Now, i will also be turning 18 at the beginning of December. My mom most likely won t be the fondest of this idea (I also plan to buy the tickets before I tell her and all) and I was wondering, once I do turn 18 there isn t really she can do right? She can t control me or say I can t go? I m going to be working a lot of hours of work and I work with her. Our relationship isn t the greatest with my family right now. I think it s actually because I m turning 18, and they know they won t really be able to control me anymore. So, what I m asking is what s the worse thing she could do even when I m 18?

Okay so this morning my brother took a 5 dollar bill out of my wallet so when i got home from school (He s at a track meet) I went to go look for it in his room and on his top shelf behind a picture frame i found a small (maybe 2x2 inches) baggy of fine white powder. I love my family but they're kind of embarrassing and overprotective. My aunt went with me to do fingerprinting. She told the person doing my paperwork that I'm not street smart and I probably did not ask my new boss the right questions about the job. I told her to stop but she kept talking about how worried she was about my job. I don't get it. I'm 25 years old. I've lived in other states and even other countries before. They are so annoying. If you ever watched my Big Fat Greek Wedding, we are pretty much an Asian version of that family. They want to follow me to the new internship site that I'm moving out to. I'm worried they will say embarrassing things to my boss and coworkers. How can I get them not to come without hurting their feelings?

just curious on this. I inow it s usually next of kin unless there s no family. (I have no advance directive or will, I m only 21 so I haven t really gotten around to thinking about it. I m also unmarried.) the problem is I no longer speak to my parents and I was thinking that if something should happen I really really don t want them to call my parents if they could even find them. if someone told them I had no family would that be good enough or would they look into it? So since we moved to a new city I've made a friend. Me and her were so similar and could tell what one another was thinking. We quickly became best friends basically. Well my sister is gay and my bf has been crushing on her. At first they were just talking but then she stated ******* around with my sister . then she goes after my girlfriend like 2 days after we broke up. And now she doesn't even hang out with me anymore. She just does whatever my sister tells her. Like yesterday for example, I've been trying to chill with her for a while (she moved about 20 mins away) and something always was a problem but she was in the car when my sister picked me up from school then they just went to her room and did whatever lesbians do. And then she had the nerve to get me to help her sneek her in the house past my mom. And today I left school early and forgot my key. Hi this is gonna sound pathetic but I don't know how to catch a bus and train by myself. I get lost easily and don't know where I'm at because I was sheltered as a kid and never taught how to do things. Everyone has a car now and I have to go a few places to get things done. I can't depend on my parents anymore because they just royally screwed up an opportunity that I had cause they wanted to drive me there. This isn't the first time that's happened and I know now that I can't allow it to happen again. I could easily take my phone out and use google maps but I live in a bad city and people snatch phones and rob people so I'm really scared to do that. What should I do?

I'm 16. Mom is abusive, that's a fact, but I'm not sure what's considered a problem that can be solved by getting authorities/officials involved. She is mostly verbally abusive, and definitely neglects me and my 7y/o brother, but recently it's been getting worse. Yesterday she smacked me (face) because I said something she didn't like (what I said wasn't vulgar or offensive or anything bad) and she grabbed me and tried to force me out of the car. I have an almost neverending list of stories to tell but don't have evidence for the physical things because they didn't leave marks, and I'm not sure there's any way to get evidence for the verbal things. I know she has a history of being agressive/ harmful/ abusive to others, for example she's physically hurt my dad. She was abused as a child, but that's all I can think of to somewhat "prove" that its a problem. I can't live like this anymore and I don't want my brother to grow up like this. My dad says he's going to help sort it out but he doesn't know how. We have to be REALLY careful trying to fix it, with my mom it's like walking on eggshells, I live with her most of the time and I'm afraid of what else she could do to me involving that also, I don't want her to have full custody even though she has no reason to have it. She'll find a way to make things worse. thank you for any help

I don't want to get involved but I think I have to since it's starting to affect my family in different ways. My sister in law knows about this and has started to have severe depression which is worse since my parents and her parents has made it clear she can't divorce him. This woman has slowly started integrating into my family's lives by slowly starting to poison every one's minds against each other. She has wrapped my brother around her finger and it's like he is her puppet, catering to her every needs and wants with our family's money. She also slowly planted suspicion on my mother by carefully flirting with my father and knowing my mother to be the jealous and irrational type, it's making it worse. My dad is the worse since he seems to be scared of her like she knows his secrets or something in which this case I knew my dad cheated on my mom for a while back when I was a teenager. My brother and I knew about this and I think my idiot brother told her this which is what she is using. She even got into my sister by making her think everyone is against her when my parent's refused to let her to pursue her dreams of being an artist. I am the youngest child and quite frankly I am the only one who seems to be aware what this woman is doing and it's getting out of hand. The mind games, manipulation and lies this woman is playing is starting to make me feel I need to defend my family but I am not the kinda guy who knows how to handle people like this. Don't have friends, can't even get female friends that want anything to do with me. Family hates me. Live at home with parents unfortunately. And my sister also live with parents. I honestly don't give the slightest bloody **** about distant relatives or extended family. I only see my grandparents and my only nephew and yes I like them. I am 14 and I don't think my mom and I are close. We don't get along well. Most of the time she tells me I am irresponsible, and she is neurotic. She also yells a lot and isn't very affectionate. I wouldn't feel comfortable talking to her about issues in school or normal teenage stuff; I would prefer to speak to my grandma about it since she understands me. My dad has been in prison my whole life, I am 17. I have only seen him inside a prison, he seems nice and is still married to my mother but I honestly don't want anything to do with him hes been gone my whole life I have 4 older sisters and they all have known him outside of a prison so I can understand if they love him. I never share things that I do or achieve with my brother (who is a year younger than me), but somehow he always tries to find a way to downplay it. Like recently, i've been living with them (mother and siblings), for a year (long story) and finally I am moving out in a room share (I refuse to pay 1500+ for a one bedroom apt!). Unfortunately, I asked my mother to give me a ride there and she ACTED happy for me, but then a couple days later while me and my brother are in a typical pointless argument that I'm so tired of, he says "youre going to share a place with like 6 other people" ...I didn't bother to respond to that, but unfortunately already stooped low, so I said something like "you're broke and can't afford to move out". But gosh, why is he like this? I'm tired of them, better off without this "family" and just swear they won't ever hear from me again once I do move out in a couple of days. Thanks so much if you've read this! I appreciate all genuine responses ! A little family background information: I 'm sort of private and love to do my own thing. When it comes to my family, I've never really been interested in their type of entertainment, but I definitely participated enough in family functions. I think my mother has always been sort of selfish and immature in assuming 'why I do the things I do', instead of getting to know me or respecting me for MY WAY. My mother has always been into partying/drinking until you loose all inhibition and sense of morals and she attracts friends like so, and party's with family who's into the same. My 14th birthday is this Saturday, April 30th. My original plan was to have my best friend come over Friday for a sleepover and then on Saturday my birthday, my mom would take us to the mall and we would have a fun day shopping (my mom would stay in the mall just in case but she wouldn't follow us around) but then last Thursday my grandma who is 90, fell and broke a couple ribs so she stayed at my house for the weekend and will be coming back again this weekend. My parents said we can still work it so I can go to the mall- just my dad would take us. That would be fine for me but I would just feel bad for my mom because my grandma is old and forgetful so someone has to be with her in the house therefore my mom would have to stay in the house with my grandma instead of getting stuff done like she wanted to. She said she doesn't mind staying inside and just wants me to have a fun day but I really dint want to inconvenience anyone and I fear that I will if I still go. If I don't go to the mall, I'll probably just have a friend over for a couple hours and go out for dinner. What do you think?

My dad went to prison 5 years ago for sexually assaulting my sister. Our family was messed up, with both my dad and my moms new BF living in the same house. We never stayed in one spot. Always moving. Then I got two new sisters who were hauled off to be adopted per my mothers request, and after that we all stayed in a homeless shelter for about 5 months, before the truth came out about my father. He ran away, and turned himself in. And social services were called to take me and my sister away to foster care. She stayed there until she turned 18 (a few years ago), and I managed to leave about 8 months in and lived with my mom who was single at the time because she broke up with her then-BF. I went to counseling, and it didn't really help because all my therapist would do is try to make jokes and talk about himself. I lived with my mom until a few years ago when she moved in with her NOW bf, who is some depressed and angry but quiet dude. They argue all the time, my mom makes me do EVERYTHING from cleaning to shopping for groceries to making her phone calls. she's unemployed and I HAVE a job. I feel like a slave. Now she is threatening to move out with my new sister who is 1 year old. I am in online school and failing my classes because I always have to watch after my sister and change every one of her diapers, etc. I turn 18 in 4 months but I don't think I can make it with all this stress. Advice?

I just met my cousin and her family for the first time. They're so shocked that I don't speak to my mother or father. They don't understand the trauma of growing up in a dysfunctional toxic household. It was so destructive the state, instead of putting me in a group home, gave me the chance to find a friend or relative instead to live with. I haven't shared these detailed with the new family since its a lot to aborb. Although every time we talk they ALWAYS mention my parents and ask IF I have made things better ( as if its my fault to begin with) They don't understand to this day I still receive nasty emails from my parents. I am going to film school and plan on Moving to LA, Vancouver, or Atlanta after I graduate. Obviously it's very hard to find a job in the film industry let alone a high paying job, but it is my passion and I refuse to make a living off anything else. However whatever money I make I want to use for myself and my future SO. I don't want to go broke paying for preschools, sports, birthday parties, college, etc. when I told my parents that I was planning on getting a vasectomy because of this, they flipped out. "YOU SELFISH PIECE OF ****!" I never really knew my Dad (met him only three times) but I thought I could get some money since I am the DNA child. He died in March (apparently of cancer) and is now surely burning in hell. So how do I ask this woman who I don't know for some of the money. He never paid child support though my mother says she regrets not taking him to court over it. I am an adult now. Ok, here goes... My mom, my brother and I live together(My parents got divorced 8 years ago) My mother get a minimum income and is the only one who earns money in the house, my brother is almost 24 and has barely done anything and I am in my final year of high school. Now my brother went 2 years to America to work on a farm(which my mom scrapped every coin together to help pay for, but he didn t give anything back). He has bullied me ever since I can remember, he stole and sold some of my stuff and many of my mom s... he claims to have a business but he never works... He is the lazies person I know and often argues with my mom. He discourages me about my future and that I will be useless and helpless... He doesn t even pay rent, buy food or anything, yet he always complains. Now the question is: How do we get rid of him? Any action physical or legal?

We haven't seen her in the 8 years since the divorce and there were no kids. I only knew her through my brother and he is not going as he lives out of town but said he is going to write to her mother. The death was a suicide apparently (she had a lot of issues) Should I attend? The funeral is Saturday

My stepmother has been in my life for about 3 years now. I never lived with her and my dad the whole time, since I split time between both parents. But whenever I was there, I usually ended up being sent to my grandmother, who always babysat me after school and even before, when I was young and my mom and dad were working. So it's easy to say I'm extra close to my grandmother. She pretty much raised me and most of my happy memories are with her. My mom and dad understand this for the most part. My stepmother, not so much. She cries a lot when I talk about my grandmother. If I say I love my grandmother, my stepmother bursts into tears because I never tell her I love her (because I don't). I was at my grandmothers house when my dad called once and when I told him where I was, she burst into tears in the background. It turns out, she's unable to have kids of her own. My dad sat me down to tell me this and he also explained how she's wanted me to love her more than my grandmother, because she feels like I'm her last chance to be a parent. He then asked me about the tickets to my graduation and said he would appreciate if I gave her one instead of my grandmother, because it would mean so much to her. Then she comes in and says it's not like my grandmother will be around as long as her and I should be closer to her (stepmother) than my grandmother. When I said I'd already promised my grandmother the ticket, she cried again. Advice?

Everyday when my dad comes home I'm thinking to myself oh no I better get everything organized and put away before he comes in so I'm hurrying to get everything looking decent I walk outside to greet him and help him in. As soon as he comes in he goes in the kitchen and say aahhhh what is this! And I'm thinking there's like a snake or something in the kitchen I go in there and is a frozen pizza box that I forgot to throw away earlier because I was using it to read the directions. He then said I'm to upset to eat now I'll throw it up. Ive been trying to keep the kitchen organized and looking nice for him but I made a stupid mistake and forgot the box. My mom and his father got married last fall and they've been living with us since then. He's 19, I'm 18 and I can't stop dribbling over him. I am trying to understand my mother and move on past the pain my parents caused me as a kid. My father was in jail for 7 years. He admits he made terrible choices when abusing drugs. My mother would not let us visit him in jail. She spoke ill of him constantly and of our older siblings (his two kids from a previous marriage). She says by not letting us visit him she was protecting us (I was 8 when he went in and almost 15 when he got out). She continued to bash him when he was out and his older two kids. I feel guilty I believed all my mother said and that I didn't fight her to let us see him. My older brother had kids and let them go as he was their grandfather. My mother says she was being protective but jail visits are supervised so if anything I think it would be a wake up call as to why to follow the law. So how do I know if my mother was being protective like she says or just spiteful and bitter? My older siblings kids are young adults now and turned out wonderful despite visiting him twice a year in jail (summer and Christmas Eve). My mother does have a tendency to get mad at me if I see anyone she is mad at (right now it is her sister). My Dad is dead now and I can't seem to forgive myself and am in therapy for a number of reasons including this. I was close to my Dad the last 14 years of his life and while he drank too much he never touched drugs again and was a better citizen. So in the process of forgiving my mother (she maintains she would do it exactly the same now), how do I figure out if she was being spiteful and hateful or simply misguided with good intents. My Dad I forgive as he had the illness of addiction and even overcame it.

I'm 15. I know that everybody is gonna be like "weed isn't a bad drug" but I looked it up and it has a bunch of bad long/short term effects. I've begged my parents to do something about it (they knew already) but whenever I do that they ask what I want them to do, and I have no idea. We used to be such good friends, but ever since he started he never hangs out with me anymore, and is always out partying with his friends. I know for a fact his grades have dipped immensely, but that isn't such a worry for me as his safety. I don't want him to get hurt. I guess alcohol is a bigger issue, at least my parents seem to think so. Just now I stopped by his room to say goodnight, and I was talking to him and he seemed way off. Then he straight up said he was super drunk right then. I had a huge mental/emotional breakdown, called him stupid (I know that was a terrible thing to say) and stalked downstairs to finish my homework. But then I had an even bigger breakdown and went to my dad and woke him up and told him to take whatever was making my brother drunk. So my dad went into his room, I'm not sure what he said but I feel terrible. I'm a complete tattle tale, yes, but at the time I was willing to risk my relationship with my brother to make sure he was safe. I realize now that was completely stupid because whatever my dad did was probably only temporary. I know I've made a bunch of mistakes I just want my brother to be safe. Please

Although Im almost 30 and still recieve quiet alot from my parents and occasionally from my brother, so for no particulare reason, I often treat them small gifts about once a month to return the "favor" Now, these gifts could be basically anything - usually its clothes to my mother but this time, I plan to new towels as the others start to be worn out. If converted to USD, the gifts are rarely over 30$ so these gifts are never expensive or "luxury". (the highest gift were a 50$ perfume on my mothers birthday) as I dont exactly have a big "wallet" but not very poor either. ;) I have always been that kind of person who find it difficult recieve something from others. (when a friend only help me to pay for a package of strawberries when i didnt have enough coins left, that alone gave me a "chill" and kind of a remorse.) But Ive no particulare difficulty to give gifts to others myself (for my older brother, I usually just treat him on snacks lol) and usually I dont have any "real" reason why I do this. Is this a weird "habit"?

Okay I have a big decision I have to make by May 6. Things around the house have been rough with my dads abusive behavior and mean tendencies. My sister and her boyfriend Steven have offered me a home in their apartment in Salisbury where I can have my own apartment and make new friends. A fresh start. I would be free from torment and hopefully happy. Just yesterday I got accepted into the medical careers program . it s a big deal and I am so proud of myself. but that means I have to decide to stay in Salisbury or in my abuse house just to attend this program.
