Question: Do you think I'm boring? Posted: 13 Apr 2020 01:09 PM PDT I do not play video games nor a console. I don't have an interest in video games except I'm watching them. I haven't read any books lately. I stop watching movies and tv shows. It is wasting time. I don't go out much. I don't talk to anyone because I don't know anybody. |
Question: What would you do if you saw a man beating his pregnant wife on the street? Posted: 13 Apr 2020 01:01 PM PDT You're walking casually and see a man kicking and hitting his pregnant wife. What would you do? |
Question: Is my mom too strict? Posted: 13 Apr 2020 12:36 PM PDT I am 17 turning 18 next month. I've been told by friends that my mom is pretty strict on me but I always thought this was normal? Some of the things she does is she makes me put my phone in her room every night and checks it thoroughly every night. (She said I'm going to have to keep doing this even until I'm in college). She tells me who I can and can't text (she grounded me from texting or seeing one of my friends for a week). She has a WiFi filter on my phone and I'm still on the child filter and only get an hour of internet time for the entire day. She has to approve of everything I wear before I go out anywhere and straightens my hair for me because she doesn't like the way I usually style it and says I can't do my own hair. She also has to approve of all the music I listen to and the movies and shows I watch and video games I play. (I barely get by with watching pg13 movies) I've never had a sleepover with friends ever in my life. She sometimes tells me what I can and can't eat. I don't even have my permit/license yet because I know she'll be strict about where I drive and who I drive with and I don't want to get into fights. I've tried talking to her (calmly) about this many times before but she always ends up yelling at me because I'm being "ungrateful". I also wanted to say that I love my mom to absolute death and know she wants the best for me but sometimes I wish she would treat me like the adult I'm becoming. |
Question: How do I get over the disgust of having my dad's sperm all over me? Posted: 13 Apr 2020 12:29 PM PDT He and my mom had me in their late teens and early 20s. He told me that he continued "banging the **** out of my mom like she wasn't pregnant" and got his sperm all over me while I was inside my mother. I'm so grossed out. How can I get over it? |
Question: I have a toxic relationship with my family? Posted: 13 Apr 2020 11:57 AM PDT Basically all my life, my brother and mother have been verbally abusive and critical. I do not know why my brother hates me. But ever since I can remember, he has been incredibly mean to me. He would constantly put me down and call me names. (e.g fat, stupid, useless, etc). If I ask him for help with anything, he would get mad and say "You can't do anything yourself. You're so stupid." His friends are also rude and would sometimes laugh/say things to me. At school, there were some kids who were mean to me and my brother would bully me instead of defending me. It makes me sad that I have a horrible brother like this. I told my mom everything he did to me. She basically said I'm lying and thinks my brother is perfect. She has always favored him and overlook all his abusive behavior. He would yell at her and his wife and she ignores it. She is always critical of me even though I do not do anything. She snaps at me a lot for no reason. I am really resentful of how they treat me and I really hate my brother. I don't know how to get rid of this anger. I am thinking of writing my brother a letter on how I feel and everything he did to me over the years. He has never apologized for anything. |
Question: Why do I feel like this? Posted: 13 Apr 2020 11:36 AM PDT When someone says they got a gift I feel not jelous but I feel misfortune. Honestly I wish I disnt feel this way.. when I was younger I used ro watch my mum buy a million clothes ans Ive always loved fashion but all I heard was no when it came to me buying something. My mum would buy me horrible clothes and the cheapest and it made a huge hole in my heart I didnt have anything to wear when I grew up. Also my ex boyfriends mum had a boyfriend and they told me ih my face that they did not get me any gift for christmas and it made a huge hole in my heart. I DONT know how I will ever recover from it.. I feel like my past is haunting me |
Question: How do I get my dad to stop lying to my mom? Posted: 13 Apr 2020 11:18 AM PDT |
Question: Is it a normal right of passage to be estranged from the family member? Posted: 13 Apr 2020 11:11 AM PDT My mother always took great pride in having estranged family members. She had so many keeping track of them was like keeping track of a family tree. It was everything from a cousin whose social skills were stunted by ADHD and so was estranged to a pedophile uncle of hers. Now I have my first estranged member in my family's history, a half-sister. Is this a right of passage? |
Posted: 13 Apr 2020 10:26 AM PDT When I was on my own living in my car, I was spending as much as 12-20 dollars a day for food, 150 dollars for gas a month and so on. When I moved into my parents place, I spent only 20 dollars on food, and that has lasted me almost 3 weeks. I can use a microwave, fridge, a stove and an oven. I am saving more than 500 dollars a month. |
Posted: 13 Apr 2020 09:20 AM PDT We've known people like my sister and my parents hate. My sister is a spoiled bully. My parents are the only two people in the family that like my sister and maybe the aunt that likes everybody. |
Question: My sister and I are enemies, is it normal in the family to have a member who is an enemy? Posted: 13 Apr 2020 08:53 AM PDT She has always been very abusive to me. I finally snapped at her last summer and she hasn't spoken to me since which is fine with me and we're adults so we live out on our own. No one likes her anyway. |
Question: Is my mother a hypocrite, read below? Posted: 13 Apr 2020 08:45 AM PDT My parents both told me to stay away from family this Easter because of the coronavirus. They said to come see them and my sister but not to go near any of my cousins or aunts and uncles. Usually they just say this when they're holding a grudge against someone but I thought with coronavirus they might be half right and there was no big family celebration this Easter. However I came down to my parents weekend house and my mom was with her friend at her friends house and my dad was driving around town with looking to waved his friends and my mom went for a walk with my sister and ran into another friend of hers. They were Miss socials. So is my mother a hypocrite? |
Question: Am I morqlly obligated to do anything else? Posted: 13 Apr 2020 08:44 AM PDT Okay, not my sister, but my brother in law. Its hitting of theirs. It's a 6 month old ridge. Not gonna say how it came up, but my sister told me that my BIL brings the dog with him to work sometimes, and the dog sits in the car. My sister said that he leaves water for the dog, and comes, and let's not out to go to the bathroom. That's all she told me, and they make sure it's not too hot out. I texted her today, and told her that I'm concerned about the dog being kept in the car, and that it could be dangerous. My sister, and I get along very well, but she got very upset. She said something along the lines of "I don't see a problem with keeping the dog in the car if it's a cooler day out. I'm tired of worrying about if you're going to criticize me, making everyone feel like their an awful owner" I am kind of critical when it comes to peoples animals, because I just want the best for them, and I know that keeping a dog in a car for that period of a time is wrong. I then asked her what temperature she considers "cooler". She said something like "I'm not gonna tell you anything, because your just gonna go on the internet, and tell me I'm wrong". I just left it at that. I dont want to argue with her about it anymore. I trust my brother in law will make sure the dog is safe, but I just think it's stupid what hes doing. |

Posted: 13 Apr 2020 08:34 AM PDT For example she can't stand her daughter-in-law even though she used to always swear she was never going to complain about a daughter-in-law. Etiquette she is terribly particular about and never was at all when I was a kid. In fact when I was a kid she did things that would drive her nuts now if one of us did. |
Question: My 27 year old daughter says that she is justified in her rude treatment of me.? Posted: 13 Apr 2020 08:33 AM PDT My 27 year old daughter says that she will not have respect for me. I have not acted as a mother to her and therefore have not earned respect in her eyes. She has a laundry list of items that I have done such as not focusing or dealing with big issues, avoiding conflict and hiding. Now, she has anger and contempt for me. She treats me terribly while living in my home but says that I deserve it. Is she correct? |
Question: Do couples still have sex while the woman is pregnant? Posted: 13 Apr 2020 08:28 AM PDT I would just like to know how common it is to still have sex. My mom was 22 when she was pregnant with me and I feel like they still had sex. |
Question: Is my mom being irrational? Posted: 13 Apr 2020 07:20 AM PDT My mom is against my LDR with my bf, which we are both very serious about. She has met my bf and he has stayed over many times. She said she has nothing against him personally, but just doesn't like the distance thing and me potentially moving in with him in another state. My bf and I have talked about living together and getting married. Every time I bring up the idea of me moving in with him, she gets so upset and angry. She makes me feel guilty of even thinking about moving out, away from her. And would ask if her love for me throughout these years cannot be compared to the love with my bf. And she says that all I think about is my bf and I am not opening up to the idea of being with someone else, not giving anyone else a chance. So this makes me think, if I have to compare the love between my mom and my bf, then it won't matter who I end up with cause of course my mom has been in my life longer, and she'll always use that on me whenever she doesn't approve of something I decide to do with my bf. And if I do think of giving other guys a chance, doesn't that mean I'm not serious about this relationship and that I don't love my bf? I feel like she's not being reasonable with this. Note - I'm a grown adult, and I have two older siblings who live close by or even live with my parents. |

Question: My aunt is a narcissist, is this a family disease like alcoholism? Posted: 13 Apr 2020 06:47 AM PDT My parents barred me from speaking to her, my dad particularly, but now they forgiven her out of fear of my grandmother and as a result I'm allowed to speak to her again. But I'm scared, scared she might hurt me emotionally. |

Question: Is 25 a young age for a woman to have a child nowadays? Posted: 13 Apr 2020 06:05 AM PDT My mom had me at that age 15y ago and would just like to know if she is considered a young mom. |
Posted: 13 Apr 2020 06:00 AM PDT I graduated a few months ago and got my dream degree. I became doctor. The problem is: my father is a rich man. And sadly, none of his heirs are interested in his company. Only my brother is interested, but he is in for the money. He wants to spend lavishly and I get the feeling he is waiting for the old man to die so he can spend without measure.I feel extremely guilty complaining about this. I know, rich people shouldn't complain, after all I have it easier don't I? But even when money isn't a problem, it is still a problem! The business needs a good boss, and I believe that my brother will try to squeeze the company dry. People's paycheck depend on this.It pains me to see my father get older, forgetful and in the meantime his heirs are having a blast at being useless parasites. I am the only one that has a sense of responsibility. I want to keep them in check and not give them absolute power.I have tried learning the business this last year, out of loyalty. But I feel empty, my heart is split and torn.I want to keep following my dreams, but, oh loyalty is a painful thing. I want to be loyal to my father. Loyal to what he has built. My father is very supportive. It pains me seeing him so nice towards us while my siblings are a sack of useless shits. He supports me and wants me to keep doing what makes me happy. But it pains me being out there chasing my dreams while my siblings keep leeching my father. What should I do? How can I approach this problem? |
Question: Is there a way to press charges for elder abuse? Posted: 13 Apr 2020 05:19 AM PDT Also how elderly do the elders have to be? My sister abuses my parents who are up there in age but not like 90. My parents are mid 60s and they'll do things for my sister and she blows up at them anyway like a teenager word. My sister is 26 years old and she's giving my mom a nervous break down. She will regularly verbally abuse my mom like a 12-year-old child. My mother was guilty of sometimes letting my sister off the hook when she was a kid but at the same time my mom does not deserve this type of abuse. So we discount is elder abuse and could I press charges or for it to be elder abuse would my mother have to be incapacitated. |
Question: Why does my mom always wear tight jeans? Posted: 13 Apr 2020 04:58 AM PDT She is 38 and every time she wears jeans they are really tight or if she doesn't wear jeans then her legs are literallyshowing completely. I don't get why my own mom can't dress modestly. |

Question: Why do they keep doing this? Posted: 13 Apr 2020 04:01 AM PDT I deleted my mother off of my Facebook and she keeps complaining about it. She also keeps trying to guilt trip me about it as well, What should I do about this?. I am sick of hearing about, I deleted her off my Facebook because she constantly complains on Facebook, and spreads personal business that should be kept private all over it. I talk to the damn woman everyday, I don't understand why it's a big deal anyways. I'm 19 |
Question: My mom hates my paternal side of the family, what can I do to fix this? Posted: 13 Apr 2020 03:28 AM PDT My mom is always happy and her usual self when we're around her family (my grandad and my auntie) but when we're around my dads family she either doesn't come along or just looks miserable and doesn't want to be there. She feels very uncomfortable around my Nana, she's got a drinking problem and loads of health problems etc. I've overheard my mom saying she can't stand her. She's never stopped me seeing her or anything like that, she just says she has no interest in spending time with her and would just rather not be around her. She hates my grandad too (my dads dad) apparently when she was pregnant, my grandad was a bit of a d*ck and also made comments about how she didn't breastfeed etc. I understand that's rude and why she doesn't like him but it was a very long time ago (I'm 14) she just still doesn't like him and is very cold around him. Is there anything I can do to fix this? |
Question: How was his mom physically able to carry him when he was 14? Posted: 12 Apr 2020 10:04 PM PDT I know someone who when he was 14 his mom carried him over her shoulder the fireman's carry she was in her late 40s / early 50s kind of thin and looked exactly like Brady Reiter and he was 14 and thin. |
Posted: 12 Apr 2020 09:18 PM PDT She acts childish but always gets her way makes me pick up her mess and i get told to be the bigger person and she always trynna fight. Crashed my moms car. Sat on the dog. Made me want to cry and provoke me to act out of character. Makes me want to commit suicide or homicide. Its gone on my whole life but she didnt change with age. She treats my brother better and tells my mom that she needs to stop babying us. |

Question: I feel guilty when my parents buy me stuff ? Posted: 12 Apr 2020 05:46 PM PDT I grew up poor with my mom working her butt of to support me. After I was adopted I still grew up pretty poor until my adopted dad recovered from his gamboling. I get this uneasiness about holidays because all I can think of is arguing about how we are going to put a turkey on the table we don't have money blah blah. And yet now that we have a comfortable amount of money I feel guilty when they do normal parents stuff. They don't make me feel guilty they want me to be able to get my hair cut or go to prom ect without worrying about it, but I just have such a hard time accepting it. It makes me really I comfortable having them pay anything to me. So instead I work a crap ton of hours while in high school and stressing my self out so I can provide for myself . My parents hate it and tell me I need to accept things without a fight but I don't know how . How do I stop feeling so guilty for even little things . |

Question: My parents are divorcing, next steps? Posted: 12 Apr 2020 04:30 PM PDT |
Posted: 12 Apr 2020 04:30 PM PDT M-15 Hi, I'm going to keep this short. Literally, for everything that I want to do that my parents aren't comfortable with, they just use "you're only 15." What does that even mean? The things I'm talking about doing are like; Keeping my door shut, not telling them where I am in the house every 45 minutes (yes my mother asks where I am every 45). So basically, is "you're only 15" a valid reason for not being able to have your door closed or anything like that? They also think I'm weak-minded and incompetent to knowing what a threat looks like because "im only 15" |

She is estranged for me as I couldn't take her bullying anymore and got mad at her or year ago. She hasn't spoken to me since other than a nod of the head on Thanksgiving when I said hi. StarShine: no she was just mad that they had me over when she doesn't like me. |
Question: My dad. Please give me your opinions? Posted: 12 Apr 2020 03:02 PM PDT I love my dad I really do but he's really stubborn. He loses his temper a lot and yells and swears. When he's in a mood like this he stomps around the house. He can be really lovely but it's hard to ignore his bad temper. I'm worried it's his drinking. I dont know what to do. Hes told me he'll divorce my mum and then the next day say it was only because he was angry. He rarely apologises often acts like it never happened. What should I do? please help me. |
Posted: 12 Apr 2020 03:01 PM PDT My mom and this aunt are sisters and this aunt is on bad terms with the family because she did a good deed for the other sister and get the other sister deflected it negatively. Question: I am at my limit with my abusive mother? Posted: 12 Apr 2020 02:43 PM PDT Hi, I'm currently in a situation where I feel stuck. I live with my mom. I've noticed that we constantly get into arguments with each other with her starting it most of the time. She often gets physical with me too. When she does, my brother (Who is 12 years old and shouldn't even have to see us like this) tries to push her off of me, but it only fuels her anger even more. When I try to separate myself from the situation, she gets angry. When I tell her that what she is doing is wrong, she gets even more angry and I get labeled as being disrespectful. Today we got into another argument over something trivial. She grabbed me and threatened to hurt me while she balled her fists in my face. My brother got scared and called the police. I am 20 years old and my plan was to move out this year, but now I can't because of this virus that is going around. I feel that I can't talk to anyone about it including my family. She has turned everyone against me, spreading lies about how disrespectful and awful I am to my mother. Which is not the truth. She tells people that are not involved and twists the story so that it makes her look like the victim. It hurts when you open up to someone and they tell you that you're in the wrong when they refuse to hear the full side of the story. I can't even tell my friends because I don't want to constantly bother them with my problems. The worst part about all of this is that she will never apologize for anything. |
Question: How do I get over this? Posted: 12 Apr 2020 02:20 PM PDT So I found a condom in my moms room while I was trying to find a phone charger and we just moved about a year ago and my mom and dad divorced when I was little...I know people say "let her have fun omg" but it won't go away and it keeps coming back to me and I can't get rid of it and just deal with it. Anyone have advice?? Okay I guess I was being a little stupid going on here and asking random people for help it just kinda shocked me? I don't know I'm stupid. Thanks.... This is dumb but I made another question with a little more info bc I couldn't find out how to delete this? |

Posted: 12 Apr 2020 11:34 AM PDT Im a single mother, i have a full time job (key worker) working at home 8:45 until 5:10 x 5 days a week, his father left 2 years ago hasnt been back since, my son is almost 3 and is a only child, he is 100mph at all times. Ive spent a fortune on toys to keep him entertained ao i can do work, basketball, trampoline, slide, scooter, bike , skateboard... but he just wants me. Which i get, but how am i meant to get work done? How are people doing this? His behaviour is seriously very quickly going down hill, hes turned into a nightmare and its because im not giving him enough time. I literally feel like quiting my job before i get fired because i just cant do both. Im meant to call clients daily, which means i have to put my son in the bath because its the only way i can get a phone call done. How are you single mums coping with this? I can not juggle this. I feel like im going to have a breakdown. Please read before answering. I am not saying in any way im my childs playmate. Im saying that i bought those things so he can play whilst i work. Which failed and he wants my attention which is totally understandable. Again not a play mate although i do play a lot with him as i should. Secondly his dad didnt just up and leave, we broke up he left didnt come back. We have a lovely house in country, ive got a really good job, he has really positive consistent male role models in his life. Although none of that matters but people like to judge. So just gave an update. What im asking for is how single parents that are key workers manage this? Because i feel like im failing at both. Which i never felt before lockdown as they were seprate and had time to focus on both seprately. I am struggling now because of lockdown. And having to do both under the same roof. Not because of anything else. |

Question: What can I do if my sister won’t report her abusive husband? Posted: 12 Apr 2020 09:29 AM PDT My family chooses to ignore it but today at breakfast when she announced her pregnancy to all of us including him for the first time, he pulled her into the kitchen and I could hear him whispering yell at her for telling us before his family. He apparently didn't want to spend Easter with us as it was. She's been with him 5 years, married almost 2. I've seen them get into many verbal altercation over the years and so has my family but no one says a thing. I'm the youngest so before if I said anything they would silence me and tell me to mind my business. I don't think he hits her but he makes her cry a lot. When I try to talk to her about it she closes off. I feel helpless and I know it's her choice but I can't watch her go through this especially now they will have a kid in September. |

Question: Is it OK what I want to do with my mom's pictures? Posted: 12 Apr 2020 08:34 AM PDT My boyfriend Bill came to my house and I introduced him to my mom. He immediately said "You are so lucky to have a gorgeous mom". Then he said to mom "You look very familiar. Have we met before"? Mom said "no, I don't think so". Bill went home and searched for mom's name on the internet trying to find out if there was some event he was at that mom was at also. He didn't find any but he found several of mom's pictures on the Internet. He found out she was a model and had her picture in several magazines when she was younger. Bill printed out these pictures and gave them to me. I had no idea mom was ever a model or that she had appeared in national magazines. She had never told me anything about this. Was I ever surprised. I want to put these pictures on the wall in my room with a banner that says "My wonderful and beautiful mom". Bill told me to please check with mom before I do that. He said there is some reason she did not tell you she was a model. Can anyone think of a reason mom did not tell her daughter she was a model? I think the pictures of her when she was young are of the most beautiful woman I have ever seen in my life. Thanks to everyone who reported the insulting answers. |
