Question: How can my poor older, shorter, brother get taller? sorry for the long story, its sad? Posted: 16 Apr 2020 01:17 PM PDT my older brother he's 16 and only 4'8". and its really hard on him cause im 13 and 5'7" and our younger twin sisters are even taller than him at 5'5" and now he's the new family joke. every year my whole family meets at our grandparents cabin which was last week and spend a weekend there. my brother is the oldest child out of all our cousins and us. so when we saw our little cousin it was bad for my brother. shes only 7 but 4'9" barefoot and she was wearing dress shoes so she looked like she was maybe 4'11". well my brother is only 4'8" and 16 so when all our parents noticed that our 7 year old cousin was now taller than my older brother they all laughed and kept complimenting my cousin for becoming so tall now. then to make absolute sure she was taller than him they all made the both of them stand barefoot backtoback. you could clearly see that she was taller than him. when we played hidenseek like every year they wanted to play by the same rules my brother made a long time ago when he was taller than all of us that the person who has to be it is the shortest one playing. and now that he was the shortest one he had to be it. and when all of us kids went to bed my brother no longer had his bed cause i needed it cause all the other ones were built for the little ones so it was impossible for me to sleep on one. so my brother now being the shortest had to sleep in the smallest bed. i feel so bad for him and really wish he could be as tall as me but how? |
Question: What can I do to help my sister? Posted: 16 Apr 2020 01:13 PM PDT My sister dated a guy for several years. He was abusive - mentally and physically. It was very difficult to get her to leave him. It was a really horrible time. I was worried he was going to end up killing her. But she did eventually leave. That was about 18 months ago. 3 months ago, she slept with him again. She got pregnant. And now she's decided to give him another chance. She wants them to be a family. It's obvious he's going to go back to his old ways eventually. He'll hurt her again. But she refuses to listen. She's convinced things will be different. Once the baby arrives, it'll be impossible to get her to leave him. I need her to leave him as soon as possible. I don't know what to do. |
Question: Should car need to have social distance too? Posted: 16 Apr 2020 01:00 PM PDT because virus can stay on any object and we drive car to home too so should we have social distance on car too like at least 60 feet away or something? i also see adults are holding kids and babies it is also defying the social distance anyway. |
Question: How to deal with my cousin-in-law who gossips? Posted: 16 Apr 2020 12:41 PM PDT Back in 1993, I was dating a biker chick. I ended the relationship, so she left town. She came back to town about two years later pregnant. She had the baby, and then tried to pull a paternity suit against me. She lost her case, but my name was on the birth certificate. In 2004 Florida child welfare office contacted my cousin (could not locate me). The biker chick was deceased. Her ten-year-old son was in a foster home. They wanted to know if I was coming to pick up my "son" or sign him away for adoption. I asked my lawyer to draw up a document that said I was not the father and had no claim to the boy. My cousin-in-law has always sided with the biker chick. She told everyone "He is evil because he gave up his son to strangers". She spread a lot of other less than true stories about me. Our whole family told her to "kiss off" so her and my cousin became reclusive. Here we are in 2020, and my cousin wants to reconcile with everyone. I am told that his wife still lives on disability and spends her life gossiping about everyone. I have recently adopted a son. I do not want him exposed to the likes of her. My family is pressuring me. What would you do? There was no DNA paternity testing back in the early 90's. It was the man's burden to prove that he is not the father, and he is guilty until proven innocent. |
Question: Why Americans take hitting so seriously ? Posted: 16 Apr 2020 12:25 PM PDT Many other parts of world think hitting is acceptable. But in west if you hit once they claim that it domestic violence. |
Posted: 16 Apr 2020 12:19 PM PDT I'm a pretty good person, I help clean more than my messy brother and sister. I give my mom massages and cook her dinner and help her save and lose weight. My brother and sister are evil like my dad says. They are jealous of my relationship with my mother and blame me for everything. My sister interrupts my conversations I have with my mom and when i call her out she yells above me so you cant hear me then I have to go upstairs and finish talking to my mom when she leaves. Its like she doesnt want me to be around when she is there she wants my mom all to herself. She is older than me she is 25 and I am 22 my younger brother is 20. He is an attention seeker specifically from my mom he doesnt compete with my sister just me. Everything or everywhere I go he has to go too. He wants the attention i get. He also wants people to be jealous of him by sabatoging everything I do than get it himself. my mom favors my brother than my sister than me. She never lets me shine she is also jealous of me. My mom said ill never get a boyfriend my own place lose weight and make money and my sister said im going to be living with my parents my whole life but since then my future looks pretty brighter than theirs. so....how do i deal with them and stop them from ruining my relationship with my mom. My dad is nice to me but my grandmother mom aunt sister and brother wanna see me fail |

Question: Why do people defense abusive parents for? Posted: 16 Apr 2020 11:10 AM PDT I wish people shouldn't waste their time defensing abusive parents. It doesn't matter. Abuse is not love. I was abused by my mom. She yells, scream, and emotional abused me. She really hate me. She hate raising disablity person like me. There is no reason for anyone who defense them. |
Question: Is it possible to forgive your tormentor(s) and befriend them? Posted: 16 Apr 2020 10:59 AM PDT I really doubt most people would have that capacity. Even if the person is contrite, they still deliberately did it. Antagonizing someone (for an expended period) isn't a mistake. It's a conscious decision. Yet I think my friend is too forgiving. Here is her story: - She met her now husband in 2011 - Both the guy's mother and older sister made her life miserable for 4 YEARS - They were rotten bullies. The sister even punched her once when drunk, then both laughed. - She would end up crying, her grades in college dropped and it really affected her mental health. - A couple impacting events happened by late 2015; one of them was saving his sister from drowning. - They were remorseful by then and my friend forgave. - They got married in 2018 and by now she refers them as her 2nd family. She only talks about good things. - When I tried to remind her how they were nasty people, she changes the topic and claims she already forgave and forgot long ago. Is that generally possible? To not just forgive your tormentor(s) but also befriend them and develop a close relationship with them? Basically them going from tormentors to one of your closest allies/friends. She even misses visiting them (and vice-versa) and still maintains contact by phone and whatsapp. Neither her nor her husband can't due to the pandemic. I get that her wish a big family and being accepted as family came true but she still had to suffer a lot. Is something like that even possible? |
Question: What was she telling me to do? ? Posted: 16 Apr 2020 10:50 AM PDT Okay I asked my step mother what Apple and black currant smelled together she replied telling me they smell good was she telling me to buy the fragrance? It's sounding like she was telling me to |
Posted: 16 Apr 2020 09:14 AM PDT She knows that I will receive. |
Question: Why is there no huge discussion for domestic violence by lesbian couples ? Posted: 16 Apr 2020 08:57 AM PDT When that is the number one domestic violence cases is black lesbian couples is abuse but it mainly focus of man vs woman couples things that make people think hummmmm. |
Question: Why are some parents bullies? Posted: 16 Apr 2020 07:32 AM PDT |
Question: How can your employer prove someone is related to you? Posted: 16 Apr 2020 07:02 AM PDT My employer has a very strict policy about people hiring relatives, supervising relatives or even working in the same department. According to the policy the following are considered relatives....... Parent, Stepparent, Child, Stepchild, Sibling, Stepsibling, Half Sibling, Grandparent, Grandchild, Great Grandparent, Great Grandchild, Aunt, Uncle, Great Aunt, Great Uncle, Nephew, Niece, Grand Nephew, Grand Niece, First Cousin, First Cousin Once Removed, Godparent, Godchild. So how would they go about proving who's related to you in those ways. I don't think they can make you take a DNA test. And for the non-blood relative like step siblings or godparents they would have to obtain a marriage certificate or church paperwork. I I don't think they could do that. So is it just based on what they think. And then if you claim someone is unrelated to you then how do even prove that? |
Posted: 16 Apr 2020 07:00 AM PDT He's asked me several times to go skiing with him in the winter and he committed to it this past winter and then at the last minute changed his mind after I made my schedule around it. This summer I was going to go see the people that we missed on the ski trip but now with COVID-19 I cannot as I assume we can't travel for the rest of 2020 or at least until winter. So once again my father's life continues to hurt me and he lies frequently as I've posted about before. So how do I get over this disappointment in the coming months in between now and when I do get to see the family members that I was screwed out of seeing by my dads lie? I'm old enough to travel out there on my own but I have to wait now for coronavirus to pass which I'm guessing will be about a year from now. |
Posted: 16 Apr 2020 06:58 AM PDT She is officially my only estranged relative. |
Question: Am I being a terrible daughter? Posted: 16 Apr 2020 06:14 AM PDT My dad and I run a tattoo business, we share the bills, rent and rates 50/50, our materials and machines are our own, we share and share alike. My dad started up the studio around 10 years ago. I have my own client base. My dad has his. We can't work at the moment. Our government have given grants to small businesses to the tune of £10k across the board to help with rent.My dad messaged me and said that WHATEVER WE GET, WE'LL SPLIT IT 50/50. (This is the important part). He got the 10k grant through. He's given me £1000. Then told me I still need to pay the £240 a month rent to him as always, and he MIGHT be able to give me more, but he wasn't sure. He said he'd see when 'this was all over' (the lockdown). I was super grateful for the £1000.He said 50/50 (which I was NEVER expecting) and also, I needed some clarity on how much and when I could expect some more of the grant to come my way, as I still have household bills and two children to feed.My dad is mortgage free with no dependants. I asked him kindly and tactfully if he could maybe freeze my rent as he now effectively had 9k to pay it, (which would pay rates/rent/bills for 18 MONTHS?!) and he said no. An argument broke out, my mum got involved and basically tore me a new one. Turns out my dad had lied to her about how much he got, making me out to be greedy. But I guess the question I'm asking, is was I in the wrong to ask for some Clarity with regards to the flow of cash, grant wise, or was I completely out of order? |

Question: How do I stay safe from my narcissistic sister? Posted: 15 Apr 2020 07:41 PM PDT |
Posted: 15 Apr 2020 06:02 PM PDT Right so I'm stuck in quarentine w my stepsisters. I've lived with them for 5 years and we do not talk to each other. The younger ones a year older than me and she's going to college in the fall so I'd like to try to become friends with her before she leaves but how?? She's a cheerleader popular type and I'm an art geek, so we have next to nothing in common. I'm just tired of being completely alone in this house since I'm not related to any of them. How do I spend time with them without them just insulting me like they always do? |
Posted: 15 Apr 2020 05:26 PM PDT Hello, I just got a news that my younger brother that he will be a father. His partner is pregnant and it was recently confirmed by urine test. I am happy for them but I just feel a little bit pressured since among the 3 siblings I am the only one left with no family yet. I am already 31 years old and still working on improving my career. I have plans that before or at 35 I should have kids but it takes two to tango right? As of the moment I am wanting to be a parent but scared at the same time that I might not be able to accomplish my goals in life if I do so. I am a professional but I feel like I needed to improve the stability of my life ( get a house, improve my savings etc.) I am really confused and pressured. Thoughts? |
Question: Question about being 18? Posted: 15 Apr 2020 04:53 PM PDT When I turn 18 can I just leave my parent's house? I've been living with my parents my whole life and they've always been super controlling about me leaving. One time I left for a walk when I was super upset because my parents had been yelling at me all day and my dad pushed me into the door and then picked me up and slammed me into a wall and began screaming in my face. When I'm 18 do I even have to tell them anything? Can I just leave and disappear without saying a word? I live in Arizona if that means anything. I don't care if anyone thinks this is immature or anything like that. The day I turn 18 I want to just leave and never go back. Also, I'm asking because I don't want my parents to call the police and report me as missing. |
Question: Is this a abusive relationship or just how families are towards each other? Posted: 15 Apr 2020 04:44 PM PDT My two sisters and cousin have been bullying me since we were kids. They call me names, mock me, mimic me, make fun of me, make inappropriate jokes about me, make fun of what I like, hit me, push me, throw things at me, lock me out. I walk on eggshells around them in fear of what they might say or do. |
Posted: 15 Apr 2020 03:51 PM PDT He has hurt and belittled me. The hurt is emotional but just as hard as if it were painful or sexual. I am 33 years old and female. I do not live with my parents or anything but if I disown my Dad I would lose the rest of the family. I know someone who did that and they lost everyone. |
Question: Could my dad be a Swiss spy? Posted: 15 Apr 2020 03:43 PM PDT I was visiting my dads house, packing up his kitchen cabinets. In his tupperware drawer, I found a false bottom that was hiding a bunch of weird stuff. There was several swiss army knives, all different types, as well as a bunch of red and white legos which I think are the swiss colors. I asked him about it and he said he was a collector but a collector of what? Is my dad a Swiss spy? Should I be buying more cheese and chocolate to prepare for the fondue-filled invasion? |

Question: What's the craziest thing that a family member has done? Posted: 15 Apr 2020 02:58 PM PDT When I was 16 my sister was 14. She was seeing a much older guy in secret and told the family that she was going on two hour walks once a week when in all reality she was meeting up with this guy. One day she didn't come home after two hours and wasn't answering her phone. My mom ended up calling the police, and they began looking for her. She ended up being found not by an officer on the search for her, but by an officer who was about to write a ticket for a car being parked at the local fire hall. She was in the car with this guy and when asked for her ID, she gave multiple different names and ages. Eventually she gave the officer all of MY information and when she was brought back to the house the officer asked for my info, and thats when he figured out that my sister was pretending to be me. She ended up having to be brought to my mom's work to be signed out of police custody and never heard from the guy again. |
Question: Can someones bank transfer funds go on my paypal if they buy my etsy listing? Posted: 15 Apr 2020 02:54 PM PDT |
Posted: 15 Apr 2020 02:49 PM PDT I have three other siblings and one is biological and one adopted. My sister is from my Mom's 2nd marriage which is why she is adopted along with my brother. I like the brother. I was 12 years older anyway when she was born. She is now 25 and I am 37. She is very abusive as she was spoiled growing up and has become a narcissist as a result. The rest of my siblings and my parents and step-father are fine. |
Question: I feel guilty for doing this ? Posted: 15 Apr 2020 02:29 PM PDT In 2017 my parents purchased a retirement home in a resort town. The agreement was I could live in their town home until they retire in 2022 as long as I pay their mortgage which is 400.00 per month. I've been living here 4 years and I'm going absolutely nowhere with my life. The area is a resort town with VERY VERY little industry. I'm basically spinning my wheels here barely getting by. I want to move out to Texas where I feel there is A LOT more opportunities for me specifically in my industry and I've been doing a lot of research on the area. My parents are very upset with me. They tell me things like I'll be on my own, we will not help you financially, (I don't need their help I'm 30 years old and haven't asked them for a dime in YEARS.) if you move there you will see us a lot less, don't think we are going to move to Texas, if you get married nobody will come to your wedding because Texas is so far away and if you stay in Texas your kids won't know their grandparents etc. They keep telling me "we made a deal you would stay there till we retired." I'm 30 years old I'm going absolutely NOWHERE with my life I've stuck it out here for 4 years trying to find work!! I substitute teach making 80.00 per day and work as a waitress at night. This is NOT the life I want to live!! I really want to go to Texas but the tremendous guilt I feel from my parents I feel horrible like I'm doing something wrong. Any advice? I'm going NOWHERE with my life here. |
Question: What’s your opinion? ? Posted: 15 Apr 2020 02:21 PM PDT I am a step mom. We get the kids every other weekend, but sometimes the kids want to stay with only me while their dad is working so the mom brings them over to my house. I always feel like a babysitter more than a step mom. Is this normal if I don't see the kid that often? |
