My father growing up was the type of man who would tell me do this do that. For example, get a job at my company it's the best company to work for and I said no. I did my own thing and boy did that offend him. I didn't go work for that warehouse I went to college, my wife right now also went to college. He also wants me to shower him in presents and constantly baby him he is very draining and because I do not for that he judges me that I'm a peace of ****, greedy and stingy. I don't want to live my life and become him I want to be my own person. What do you think of him?

I have been dating this guy since March, my sister and mother keep making rude comments towards me and the guy. They also keep being nosy, they keep trying to look through my own phone and they constantly eavesdrop on my conversations with him too, when I speak on the phone. What should I do?, I told them to mind their business but they will not stop Also, thanks in advance for any questions, I appreciate it a lot. My mother keeps trying to say that he could be a rapist or a killer, like wtf?. I know he is not anything like that and I trust him dearly. I am 19 but he is only 30. She and my other relatives complained and made fun of me for being single for a long time but now they want to me and my boyfriend be rude over this. I just want them to mind their business, stay OUT of my personal life, and business. Who I date is up to me, it's not up to anyone else and it isn't anyone else's business either.  Besides, I am a grown woman and I have the right to live my own life. I don't need anyone to barge into my personal life and business. I was not going to even tell them I was dating someone because they would just be nosy and cause problems for me. I also DON'T need my mother to act like this anyways, I am NINETEEN and I am a adult. I am not 11 and I don't need to deal with her weird, overdramatic bullcrap anymore.  I don't want to hear any excuses like ''She is just looking out for you'' and etc either because I do not care and I do NOT want to hear it at all. 

My grandmother died of paralysis when I was 3. And since the past few years whenever anything happens and we have an argument she always brings up that I "murdered" her mother. For some reason I have somewhat different memories of the time I spent with my grandmother compared to what my mother tells me. Yes, I used to be a brat and threw tantrums when she plucked out the flowers before I could or got the newspaper from the front gate, I was also selfish and didn t want to share when my mother cut fruits for me. I do remember doing those bad things while she could still walk. Most of my memories of her are of her being bedridden. And my mother says that I used to pull the plate and tell her not to eat or throw away the tea. But I can t remember doing such things at all, quite the contrary I remember taking her medicines to her and try to get her to take them or try and mix the contents of the capsules in her food or drinks so she would take them, I had seen my parents do it and I wanted to help too so I used to tell them to let me do it. I don t understand how could a 2~3 year old even have the power to snatch away plates or cups. At least that s what I recall from my memories. My mother also says that I was "very happy" when she died because I smiling during her funeral and happily carried the cross and walked in front. My mother constantly keeps on accusing me of murdering her and asking me why I did it. All I can do is stay silent because I have no answers for her. I'm 25 right now, my mother has caused quite some trouble at my workplace too and I have spoken about her with my boss but it doesn't happen always and after speaking to her my boss thinks that I'm lying about it so I just don't bring up that topic. As for arguments it could be something as simple as me talking to my dad and her coming in and starting yelling about how I'm "ordering him around". She has said the prayer service guys from the church said that I sub-consciously want to murder them.

I am a high school guy with a 39 year old mom. She is the best mom ever. I just adore her. She often goes with me to school events. Each time she does that, some guys afterward tell me how lucky I am to have a beautiful, hot, and sexy mom. I always tell them my mom is NOT hot and sexy. Even some of the girls tell me the same thing. Girls also tell me I am in big trouble if I expect my dates to be as beautiful as my mom. Several guys and girls always ask me if my mom was/is a model. Should I tell my mom what they are saying about her. Would she take it as a compliment that guys my age think she is beautiful, hot and sexy? like someone get infected and become virus resistant human being like no virus can hurt him/her anymore or can switch between human mode and virus mode; then these people will become super hero or villain. will this virus make the world become superhero comic-like situation like Avengers?  

My sister lives in South Carolina and is in the hospital on a ventilator.  The state she lives in requires all staff to go to different schools around the county and hand out free breakfast and lunch for children in the school district. The parents come and pick up the food from the staff. Anyone with children in the school district could come get their children free food even those who we know for a FACT did not need it due to financial reasons but were just too lazy to cook their kids meals everyday. They blatantly would tell my sister. Now my beautiful baby sister is fighting for her life because people were to "lazy" "poor" to feed their children. They just got a 1200 stimulus check!!  The schools are shut down for sanitizing and for 2 weeks no food will be served to the children. People in the community are FLIPPING OUT where will they get food? Now we have volunteers out risking their lives giving people free food.  No offense but if you can't afford a box of cereal, some bread and lunch meat for YOUR CHILD you shouldn't have kids. Period.  Why should other people have to suffer and die so YOUR CHILDREN can eat. My sister has 2 beautiful kids who may now not have a mother because of this.   I'm devastated and so angry at the way things are done in this country. I live in Virginia and the "entitlement" of getting things "free" doesn't feel as prevalent. Is this EVERYWHERE?? Im in tears while typing this. I just want my sister to be ok but it's not looking good. 

I love my Dad and don't want to see him as bad. My mother makes up stuff but she has said it enough I sometimes believe it and then I feel really guilty for believing it.

With estranged do I have no more obligation to her then I would an ex-spouse after a divorce? She is toxic similar to an ex-husband my aunt had who was just a really horrible man (the ex-husband). She has two kids with him though so has to see him occasionally, in my sister's case there are no kids of ours obviously.

He's very quiet around our Dad and I. Every time he hangs out with us, he doesn't speak the entire time. He only talks when we talk to him. He is on his cell phone the entire time he is with us. We tease him a little bit by saying things like, "We forget that you are back there, you need to open up." He just laughs it off. I don't even know why he comes out with us when he won't talk to us. Even at home, he stays in his room all day on his laptop. He interacts with our Mom though. He'll come out of his room and go to her room and talk to her. He works full-time at a cafe. He is taking a break from school right now to work. I'm not sure if he is this quiet at work. I would like for him to socialize more with us. What could his problem be? I would love for the three men in the family to have a good relationship. My father and I have a good relationship. My little brother is the odd man out.

They aren't ashamed of calling me that. They tell it to their friends and to my face too. I hate hearing it. They had me at 19 and 22 so yeah I was probably one but I hate when they rub it in my face.

My mom and i had a pointless fight today and she kept complaining to me that i have a house, parents and a phone etc but that i am sad for no reason and that i do it just to show everyone that i'm not thankful. I struggle a lot with controlling my emotions and i have told her a lot about it but yet people that aren't my family understand me better than them. I raised my voice at her repeating "what do you want me to do" while she said i keep acting like a depressed 25 year old who's kids died and gets abused by her husband. This is the 2nd time this year where she threatened me to send me to a mental hospital and would set me up for adoption. Also this "fight" started just cause i said i like to wear clothes that cover my body. I love my parents but now it's getting harder. My mom gets mad at me just cause i'm sad even though she knows that I cannot control it easily and my dad is the kindest person in my life but he just says to ignore her and pray it away. I'm young and i'm not even in highschool yet but my mom thinks abusing your child (expect sexual) is okay. She keeps comparing me to my cousin saying that her life is harder but i'm lucky i'm not brainwashed into thinking it's normal. She then just acts like nothing happens but she never cares about how i feel and it's really affecting me more and more. I'm scared to talk about it to others like my teachers etc on videocalls and i just don't feel safe in a way at home and I can't move out or something but please help?

I've been with this girl for 3 years, we live together and I am a father of 4 kids, she accepted me with 4 kids, long story short, we live together her mom lives 8 hours away, we lost our jobs due to covid 19 she told me she was tired of being here, not doing anything she don't have a job or can't work, she wanted to leave with her mom where there's jobs in dairy's, she told me if she can't find a job soon she was going to leave, next day later my dad gave her a job, now she's telling me she wants go go because she's tired doing to the same thing just going to work waking up and staying home, same routine, she's tired of doing nothing, I'm not tired of anything cause I love being a dad to my kids, she tells me to move over there with her, but I tell her it's not easy to just move, I won't have a job, who's gonna watch the watch my kids she starts saying that her mom can but I don't trust anyone watching my kids, what would be my best bet? And why is she tired of the same thing if that's what being parenting is, 

I'm the youngest in the family I have this super annoying over protective sister like for real I'm like 24 she still treat me like I'm a baby. For example I really really really want to learn how to drive as soon as possible as soon as this coronavirus is over but she wont let me she just keep saying what if you get into a car crash what if you people use you what if you get lost. I mean she always been this way even when we were little kids she always been so over controlling my life she and her boy friend wont even let me live how I want in a Rv she is seriously controlling my life I'm so sick of it. Everytime I do bring this up that i want to get a job and get my own life started she just gets super annoying she just think I cant do it how would you even know if you wont ever let me try she been bossing me around all my life. She is pregnant with her boy friend too so I dont want to stay here forever it wont go good is good now but in a mean while pretty sure he will get annoyed that I'm here all the time. They already kinda strict on me forcing me to go to walk with the dog eat what ever they want me to eat and possibly forcing me to go to church when this coronavirus ends. My little sister just turned 7, and pretty much every night of quarantine so far she's been staying up until atleast 2am watching with my mom. I feel like my mom doesn't give her enough discipline. Whenever I tell my mom how I feel, she acts like I'm attacking her. She is very unstable. I'm not sure how to handle the situation.

I literally don't understand an entirely different language in an assignment for school and she gets mad at me about how it's my fault when its literally a high school course. ( yes I'm in year 6 get over it) I'm taking a Latin course and I didn't understand a passage and start crying cause I know she'll to be pissed about it and I move on to do other school assignments, she asks me about them later and gets mad and starts lecturing me about how it's my fault. am I in the wrong?

Okay, I am in an 8 year situationship. We live together but we haven't had sex in 6 months. I recently went through a year long depression, I am currently back to my old self now. I am 34 and he is turning 36 and he's never proposed. He also doesn't want to have children with me, but he has 3 from previous relationships. He is very bitter because he has to pay tons of child support, and he keeps telling me he hates kids and he will never have anymore. My dream is to be a mother, and I feel like I am just wasting time! I'm in my mid 30's now and I am losing hope....my family wants me to relocate to where they are without my current partner and start fresh. Should I take steps to leave him? Or should I just give up my dream of being a mommy? It depresses me just thinking about not being able to experience motherhood. Any advice????

I'm full of anxiety and worry. I have never been away from my mom and brother . I love them dearly . Job wise, things are not working out for me here and I am an 'essential worker'. Someone is in a different state is allowing me to stay for free for 6 months while I get settled . I have job interviews lined up but I am scared . I also have to find child care. I'm worried that if something happens to me or my mother in a different state we can't get to each other .  I've been crying all day and don't know if I'm overreacting. No she's not sick or anything I'm just use to being with her . I also have a 2 year old and not sure if things will be difficult moving with a child . Then again , I'm unable to successfully find work in my current state which is holding me back and I don't get the help I need with my child anyway because my mom is always working and dad is not involved at all except for 3 hours on one Saturday a week.  What's your experience ? :(  suggestions please ? I'm so scared to go to a new place . But I'm not successful in my current nothing is working out and I'm depressed here too .

My crazy,stubborn mother has been heavily involved in that for a while. Contrary to many of my advices and broken promises she keeps doing it losing money and she loves it. What should I do? I'm tired of spying on her and snatching phone from her hands.

I'm really considering on a clean slate and starting over life. I'm just concerned about how my parents and relatives would react. It would be a complete name change so I wouldn't be under my original family name anymore either. My parents are very supportive but also family traditional. Any tips on how I should approach this and tell them? I already got my name granted by the superior court.

I always have this habit of getting naked at home whenever it is possible. I sleep, walk around, doing laundry naked. Is it normal? Long before I had a family of my own I love being naked already, like in high school and college everytime I got home and in my room.

I'm watching Simpsons dvd. I watched a night at the Roxbury with my girlfriend. We cooked spaghetti.  We had some wine and beer. I also watched x-men and played video games. X-men and turtles.

I feel like things are crazy. We will discuss something, then suddenly she does the opposite and it sometimes causes drama. Or she forgets a lot, cant focus. She was not this bad when she did not smoke. She got very lazy too and argues a lot. We have our moments but it's not like in the beginning anymore. I feel like I enjoy it now having the house to myself sometimes. She talks to me a lot now like I cant think for myself. It's weird.

I'm 18 years old and in my last year of high school. I was raised in a strict and devout Islamic family. I was born and raised in Portugal yet I moved to Egypt a year ago due to a job opportunity my father got. Ever since I was kinda young, I always had doubts about Islamic teachings and tried to get away from practicing any beliefs. A month ago, I decided to come clean to my family, whom I already had a bad relationship with, and told them that I'm not Muslim. It was the straw that broke the camel's back with that relationship, and I was kicked out and told to never come back without even a chance to pack some money or clothes. I eventually got my older siblings to get my stuff delivered to me in secret. For context as to why I already had a bad relationship with my parents to start, 3 years ago , I was offered to go visit my childhood best friend who had been living in California at the time. I told my parents that I wanted to go. They think he is a bad influence but actually he's a really good kid. He may have done some ****, but he's a good guy. At the same time, my older brother and sister were traveling so I asked them to plan that I'm going with them but I'm actually going to California. Got the ticket, went with my siblings, and was dropped at the airport. Although I was grounded, LA was the most fun I had in years :D. Recovery has been a very hard and long process, but I'm fairly resilient in being my own man and cutting them off my life. 

Hi, I'm the middle child of 3 sisters: oldest is 21, I'm 18, youngest is 3. I have always felt like I am the outcast, no matter how good i behave it always seems like my mistakes are always bigger compared to the huge mistakes my other sisters make. I'm constantly criticized for being rude to my youngest sister even though she has a temper problem and likes to fight. They never seem to care about me, and it is very hurtful. I dont talk to my oldest sister since she also likes to physically assault me on occasion. Once, when it happened I ran to my mother but she only ignored my tears and continued with her day, laughing with my sister. I'm always left to watch babysit even though they say I do a terrible job at it. The only time i feel like I'm being mean is when I am strict with my youngest sisters behavior. It's so hurtful. Please help, talking doesn't work.

Staying at home is like staying under house arrest. I am not rich, if I would not do it like Pablo Escobar would make football fields, party clubs and churasco with my friends. save your dollars to spend with a psychologist later. Maybe I will commit suicide if this continues. I'm going to go out and play football! The chance of me committing suicide by standing in front of the ******* computer is 99% playing ball 2%. Home is made to rest not to stay long.

I dont live in walking distance to my parents house. I don't drive and I live in NYC . As  of right now we are on a stay at home order until May 15th (unless it gets extended again). What can I do for my mom for mothers day? She's already upset I can't go over :(

In our native language we have different names for grandmothers of our parents. We call the mother of our father "Dadi" and the mother of our mom "Nani."
