Question: Does my mom prefer my sister? Posted: 30 Apr 2020 05:44 PM PDT She asks her more questions/ shows more interest in her , and ignores me when I talk. When we talk she looks bored and just brushes me off. She lets her go to therapy but not me even though we BOTH have mental issues. I also confronted her once and she said "it's just that your sister talks more". But that is not true, I also talk a lot and ask her questions. She jokes with her, buys her more stuff. So does it sound like favoritism to you? |
Question: My parents tell lies about me? Posted: 30 Apr 2020 05:40 PM PDT I recently found out that my parents have been telling lies about me. The mostly lie about my education, my job, and where I live. I have a B.S. and they have told people I didn't graduate from college. I have been employed full time since I graduated, but they have told people I have a minimum wage job or don't work at all. I own a house and my mom has told people that I still live at home and that she supports me. They have done this for sometime and this explains why some people have treated me badly. They even did this at my grandfathers funeral and people were being ugly to me but I didn't know why. I don't see these people to correct the lies. How do I deal with this? |
Question: Was my sister indirectly calling me dumb like patronizing me? Posted: 30 Apr 2020 05:30 PM PDT Basically she was watching something on tv about politics and I decided to join in. Then she said in a rude way "wow, you wanna watch THIS? . And I took offense to that. Wash she in the wrong? |
Question: Do my parents have real values? Posted: 30 Apr 2020 04:54 PM PDT They're conservative Catholics, as they like to call themselves and they made this rule that no one is allowed to have tattoos if we live at home. I have 6 and I'm still a good person, I got my masters and I'm succeeding. I live at home because I just lost my job. So the stitch for me to stay is to remove tattoos and never get a new one. Well this tattoo rule seems a little silly because they agreed to it upon marriage but my dad constantly cheats on my mom and has abused her physically multiple times... so they hold to the tattoo rule harder than no cheating or no abuse. I don't agree with them on a lot but they can't see that their values are so wrong. |
Question: Someone I know died tragically recently, how can I help everyone cope? Posted: 30 Apr 2020 04:38 PM PDT My mom and her boyfriend have been broken up for years now. My two brothers and I (daughter) had an ex-stepbrother from that relationship. Three days ago, my ex step brother took his life and it was very tragic for all of us. My dad even cried about it. We all cried about it. I am worried about everyone but specifically my youngest brother as he was there the day that my ex step brother took his life. My youngest brother started crying today and I felt bad so I started crying and mom started crying. My brother is only 19 but I can tell he feels really bad and I didn't want to make it worse by crying too in front of him. He is distraught. How can I help everyone cope? I've been trying to listen to everyone but everything is very somber. As the older sister, how can I especially make my younger brother feel better? |
Question: Do my parents not like me? Posted: 30 Apr 2020 01:58 PM PDT They've always been hard on me. I'm the middle child and I'm always in trouble for some dumb reason. Well, I've surpassed my older brother in many ways. Educationally and with maturity. I'm 24 and he's 26. I just lost my job right before moving out and they threw negative things at me on how I'll never be able to find another job, how I'm going to struggle, how I'm not good at anything. A bunch of things that made me scared and so I decided to not move anymore. They still tell me I'm not going to be able to find a job anywhere and I'm not good for much. My brother lost his job too and the conversation with him was different. They encouraged him to look for a new job and said that he knows a lot to be able to work anywhere. I feel very alienated and really don't want to be around them anymore. Do they not like me? |
Question: My dad lied to my mother about taxes for years, does this make him a bad moral influence? Posted: 30 Apr 2020 01:44 PM PDT |
Question: My crush texted me this, what does it mean? Posted: 30 Apr 2020 01:41 PM PDT You better learn that what you are doing is super inappropriate and weird. I'm not responding to one more thing you send. Do not try and talk to me ever again. I don't know who you think you are. Do not do this again |
Question: Should I move with my bf to his parents house? Posted: 30 Apr 2020 01:27 PM PDT We were going to move out but I lost my job so I have to wait until I find one that pays the same or more. I was originally moving it for many reasons, one that I love him and we were ready to work on our relationship on a different level and another big factor was that I live in a very abusive home. My parents don't see it that way, they consider it tough love but my dad abuses my mom physically and they both abuse me mentally and emotionally. I cannot have a simple conversation with them ever if they aren't attacking me, pulling negative things about my life, or making me feel like I'm doing something wrong. Because we decided not to move just yet, my parents are using it as a tactic to control me. I'm 24 and they're setting a curfew and rules. It's their house but they said if I get another tattoo or break curfew I'm getting kicked out. I can't sleep over my bfs house, I can't travel with him (when traveling was a thing) if my parents aren't chaperoning us, I can't stay at his place past 11pm. My bf offered me to move in with him and his parents until we figure out my job situation and save enough money for our own place. Yes his parents are way more liberal but it might save me from the abuse I live in. Would it be a good idea? |
Question: No one likes my sister, I don’t like her either, do people like this ever change? Posted: 30 Apr 2020 10:52 AM PDT She is a person that is disliked by everybody Coach Simon: trust me if you knew her you would know, she has no good points. Nothing about her is good and everyone knows her knows that. She's attractive looking is the only thing I can think of and now she doesn't even have that thanks for Crohn's disease. |
Question: When will the hurt of having a negligent dad go away? Posted: 30 Apr 2020 10:51 AM PDT I keep feeling the pain every day for years now. |
Question: Am I right or just being an angsty teen? Posted: 30 Apr 2020 09:45 AM PDT So my mom keeps doing these weird couple-y things with me and I really hate it. Me being bias because I am a teenager, I'm not sure if it's in my head or not. She says stuff like "I need you" and she does stuff like take my hand and kiss my knuckles. Again, I really hate it and would like it to stop regardless, but it's an extra layer of creepy that it seems like very couple-y stuff. If it is, she doesn't realize it— she's definitely would not be that way on purpose. Just for clarification she does NOT touch me inappropriately or anything, this is NOT a harassment situation I'm just wondering if my concerns are valid or not. |
Question: How can I call the cops on my abusive stepfather, Eric Vaughan? Posted: 30 Apr 2020 09:28 AM PDT He sexually abused me and my mother, and I'm sick of the abuse. |
Question: My son dreams of moving to Sri Lanka and teaching English there. How can I stop him? Posted: 30 Apr 2020 09:02 AM PDT We're Australian. My son is 22 years old and I know he's old enough to decide for himself, but the thought that he's ruining his future is not something I can ignore! Fortunately the virus crisis has prevented him from travelling, but he's too restless at home. I'm sure he'll move to Sri Lanka, as soon as he's permitted to do so. He has prepared all the documents needed for an English teacher in Sri Lanka. I can't believe he's going to live in a developing country among uncivilised people! He can stay here and pursue his career as a teacher. He dreams of living in Sri Lanka permanently. What if he catches a disease such as Dengue fever?!? He's surely not going to work in a city like Colombo. He should first go to stay in a village. The villages in Sri Lanka are dirty with lots of horrible diseases. He doesn't listen to me...He never listens. How can I convince him to stay and think about a brighter future in Australia? He keeps telling me that he feels good living among Sri Lankan children, because they're more innocent than Australian children. That's just madness! |

Question: How do I not let my evil sister corrupt my soul? Posted: 30 Apr 2020 07:56 AM PDT She is like Satan and I fear she will get to me. |
Question: My sister is upset she won’t be able to see my son being born, what do I do? Posted: 30 Apr 2020 07:02 AM PDT When I gave birth to my daughter 4 years ago the plan was to allow my then boyfriend( now husband), mom, and sister into the room when I gave birth but just when I was told the pushing would begin the hospital said only 2 people could be there and my mom ended up just telling my sister to go in the waiting room, which is the decision I would have made had I not been about to push. Now on my second baby before we knew of the dangers of COVID-19 I had told my sister this time it would be her and my husband which everyone was fine with, but at our local hospitals there is a one guest minimum and the obvious choice is my husband since this is our child. She is so angry at me even questioning why she can't be there instead of my husband. Everyone including myself thinks she is being unreasonable, why would my husband miss the birth of his first son just so an aunt could be there? She has stopped talking to me it has been 3 weeks and she won't even talk to my mom or dad because they agree with me on this. She is unable to have children and treats my daughter like her own maybe this is a reaction from that maybe she wants to be close to my child's birth because she will never experience her own. I feel sad about that part but I can't rob my husband of this moment just to satisfy her what do I do? Is there anything I can do? I should not have to be worried about this I'm 35 weeks and the baby will be here in no time I want to bring him into peace. |
Question: Why does my dad hate my step dad so much? Posted: 30 Apr 2020 06:51 AM PDT My step dad has done so much for me he supported me both emotionally spiritually and financially and I love him he has a good paying job and I love him he accepted me from day 1 and has loved me like his own daughter but my dad is very ungrateful he refused to attend events if my mom and step dad are coming and he hated my step dad so much he thinks it is my step dads fault that my mom and him broke up and guilt-trips me for having a good relationship with my step dad Why does my dad hate my step father so much? |
Question: How do you deal with a disfunctional household? Posted: 30 Apr 2020 06:03 AM PDT So I'm not able to move out yet so I need to find ways to cope with these two people. My father is stubborn and acts like a child. Sometimes, he will do what he wants and never listens to advice. He does stupid things like feed dogs chocolate or he will throw out my moms dishwashing soap and replace it with spirits. He thinks this is a good idea ever since corona. The things he does are so stupid and they go on forever. My mom is constantly complaining about all the things he does but there is simply nothing I can do about it. Shes even started whispering things about him when he isnt very close to us. My father blows his top whenever someone disagrees with him or voices their opinion about something especially if its my mom. They are both crazy and I'm the one caught in the middle.need some advice. |
Question: How can I make my dad and stepmom let me live with my mom? Posted: 30 Apr 2020 05:26 AM PDT I want to live with my mom but my dad is ok with it but my stepmom won't let my mom take me I want to live with my mom by force can I force my dad to let me live with my mom? |
Question: What made my mom decide this? Posted: 30 Apr 2020 02:30 AM PDT Let's say someone you knew recently died. My mom said that between my brother and I (I am her daughter) that I took the death harder than my brother. I wasn't as close to the person who died but I did cry. My brother knew him more than me. My brother shows grief differently whereas he doesn't really cry. My mom told me that he didn't seem upset but knew he was upset internally. My mom, brother, and I have been going about our normal days. My mom said she is sad (she cried too) but she said we all have to take care of ourselves and not get too down. Just out of curiosity, what made my mom decide that I took it harder than my brother? I want to be strong and not show that I am too upset. I meant to say I feel like I have been strong |
Question: Why does my mom always order a double bed for us? Posted: 30 Apr 2020 12:44 AM PDT If we go on vacation or whatever and we stay in one hotel room she always gets a double bed instead of two seperate beds. I don't know what it is. I have asked her if we should get two beds but she she just says that it's fine how it is. |

Posted: 30 Apr 2020 12:17 AM PDT My brother talks so much trash, hes running his mouth all over the place, THen he says if anyone tries to do anything to me im going to call the cops. Im like WTF, ur the biggest idiot, u wanna run your mouth all over the place, then wen people step up to you, you say your going to call the cops. THats so P*SSY to me. If your going to run your mouth at people, then u better be ready to fight, dont call the cops. Thts fkin stupid. |
Question: Should I let my bf meet my sisters when they are close to my narc mother? Posted: 30 Apr 2020 12:03 AM PDT I started virtually dating this guy I met on Tinder during this Qurantine. My parents separated last year and my dad and I moved in with my grandparents' house to get back on our feet. Courts are making a motion to evict my mom from our house and grant my dad custody of my sisters. If this happens, I will have move back him with him to help him care for my sisters. However, my mom is mentally ill and has falsely accused all of my paternal male relatives of pedophillia. Luckily, several audio recordings proved her claims wrong and I do not want the same thing to happen to my boyfriend. Therefore, I am not sure if I should allow him to meet my sisters since they are very close with my mom and tell her everything because I do not want my boyfriend being falsely accused of anything....especially since he is in the military. What should I do? |
Question: What makes an young adult have so much built up anger towards the mother ? ? Posted: 29 Apr 2020 10:38 PM PDT Example: the mother walks in the house the young adult walks to their room. Example: the mother gives advice the young adult doesn't want to hear it and puts in headphones Example: the young adult shows more respect to the father and not the mother and the mother does everything for the young adult. |
Question: Why does my 13yr old sister sleep all day? Posted: 29 Apr 2020 09:46 PM PDT She lives with me and we just moved into a apartment. I bought her a bed and she wants to sleep in the living room on the floor. She said she do not want to sleep in the bedroom she sometimes don't eat and she became a very disrespectful child. She wasn't like this at all. I'll ask her what's wrong she'll say nothing. What to do? |
Posted: 29 Apr 2020 09:25 PM PDT So my parents caught me faking my sleep and found out I was using my phone because my phone was hot. And now I have to drop my phone every night of bedtime. |
Question: Did anyone in your family tree die of the Spanish flu? Posted: 29 Apr 2020 05:33 PM PDT Two people dead and mine one on each side neither was a direct ancestor. |
Posted: 29 Apr 2020 04:48 PM PDT i'm so mad at my mom all the time for no reason she just annoys me just hearing her voice makes me upset i'm not sure why.. |
Question: My fiance became a pothead and I cannot stand potheads? Posted: 29 Apr 2020 03:50 PM PDT Shes an adult and I cant tell her pick me or the weed. Plus I drink so dont want to seem hypocritical, but weed has made her IQ drop, she will.ask me things we just talked about, is forgetful, very unfocused, is even lazier. Smokes 3 to 5 bowls a day. It's made me irritated. Shes gained a lot of weight. |
Question: Will a guy ever love again a girl, for whom he was beated up from his father? Posted: 29 Apr 2020 01:04 PM PDT Because the father came home from work and opened the door of his room and found the two of the naked about to make love? He snapped, dragged the guy from the girl, started beating him like he was a criminal, like he wasn't his son, beated him so much that his whole body kept shaking afterwards, made him cry calling him 'dirty b*****, who raised you like this? You are not my son, you must be a piece of ****', when the girl wanted to get between them but kept her blanket around her body and protested that he didn't force her and that she loved him, he told her to shut up, that her parents would be upset to know about this, he told her to go home or call them to pick her up. He left the room, the guy kept crying, when the girl went to him to comfort him he flinched and didn't turn, he said he was dirty and what he did to her was dirty, and never turned to look at her. Eventually he told her to go away. The girl still loves him and tried many times to talk to him but he would avoid her and tell her stay away, as he is guilty and he deserved it. He never called her or tried to get her back. When she's around he lowers his eyes and goes another way. She will follow him and tell him he is the only one she loves but he would cry and act broken around her. Why did a father ruin such innocent, perfect love from two teenagers who grew up together. She is 13 he is 17, he was the one who took care of her since she waa 6 causw her parents were working.he picked her from school, made meals |
