I've heard Spanish relatives call each other "papi," such as a mother/father to their son and such. But what if a woman who is not related to a man, nor has she had any sort of "more than friend" relationship with him, calls him "papi"?

After 2 months of break up, I said hi to him when I saw him in person, he didn't reply. Then 4 months later, he has texted me asking me how I was. Why did he do that now?

My mom & me were going on FB to view photos of family that went on vcay. U would think she would look that kind of stuff up a yr ago when I started to tell her, why just now right? U think she would google how to NOT get pregnant. Anyway she said "I'm getting old, everything goes by so fast I remember when I was in my 30s now I'm getting hit in the face with being 44". I ask her again & she quickly nodded yes & changed subject then I ask her again is she really done with having kids, & she nodded I repeat it then she made a smirking face & kinda like a laugh & she said "please I want to or I can't even enjoy my life now". A tattoo is a big commitment?

My daughter is a full blown alcoholic & she has liver disease that has already caused her problems. The doctors told her that while the damage was permanent if she stops drinking she would likely be fine. But she hasn't stopped drinking & it's all her boyfriend's fault. She lives with him, and he pays for everything, including her beers. He actually goes out almost every morning & buys them for her. How can she get better when this guy provides her with a roof over her head and gives her all the alcohol she asks for. We've tried confronting him & he says that he buys it so she doesn't go into withdrawal, get angry, or leave the house, and that he's trying to keep her safe & control the situation. He's also bailed her out of jail & paid fines, and for a lawyer. He's not controlling anything, she is controlling him & he's just making everything worse. How can we convince him to stop? He's the only obstacle preventing my daughter from getting better.
