Question: Not sure whether to invite someone to wedding? Posted: 12 Jul 2019 09:36 PM PDT My sister was married two years ago, and instead of gifts she had people just give money. Three couples that she invited only gave a piddly $100 between the two of them, another $120 and another $125. That is $50, $60 and $62.50 for one person. She found that completely unacceptable as do I. The meals cost around $180 per person, and I think plain etiquette and good manners means that unless it's a backyard wedding or similar, you should pay at least $100 per person. There were couples that gave $200, $2&0 and even two couples gave her $500. Even people who were single gave more, around $150 and $200. These five couples were the $100: paternal uncle and aunty that we almost never see anyway, family friends who likewise we hardly ever see, our father's friend and his wife who we see sometimes; the $120: maternal uncle and aunty that we hardly ever see and the $125: mother's first cousin/our first cousin once removed and her husband, who we sometimes see. |
Question: Do you think a jack and Jill is tacky? Posted: 12 Jul 2019 06:05 PM PDT I never heard of this until my boyfriends friends are getting married. I think it's so tacky. You're literally raising money for a day that is supposed to be YOUR day on top of expecting your wedding quests to present a gift at your wedding, on top of having to get all done up for their day. I feel like it's just asking for too much from people that are trying to celebrate your day. It shouldn't have to cost an arm and a leg for someone else's day. Thoughts ? |
Posted: 12 Jul 2019 01:09 AM PDT Of the girl? The man is a working class migrant. He brought his family to the us so that the kids would have a better life. After coming home earlier from the work in the construction sites he opens his bedroom door and finds his son on top of the girl, who is the daughter of a close migrant friend of his, about to kiss her. She is looking at him and they are about to kiss but the man comes in and instinctively hits his son so hard he starts crying, the girl is shocked and tries to defend the boy saying its not his fault. |
