Posted: 20 Jul 2019 09:04 AM PDT I cant make it to the wedding for major reasons. I told him I was not comrftable with him going without me but he decided to go anyways. We have had in he past years some issues regarding his behavior when drinking, he just gets super caught on having fun with his friends and then he gets super drunk that he forgets about me or care about me telling him to stop. I feel tht in those situations he jst cares of having fun and does not think of how I feel about it. Then later I have to deal with getting him home and dealing with the whole drunk clumsy prson he becoms, talking and doing nonsense stuff. We have had some discussions because I think he should have self control in social settings and I think he does not need to drink that much to have fun, but he doesn't agree with that. and I am a little insecure about him making the bst decisions or being safe. He thinks I don't trust him at all, that I am trying to be a "Mother" but I try to explain that I don't trust the person he becomes when drinking. Also its uncomfortable for me an ugly women he hooked up with, long time ago when he visited brazil is friend of the bride and will be there. I am just not happy with it at all. But he says that I should trust him, that he feels hurt by me acting like this and not trusting and that he and cares and loves me and that he will do things to make me feel comfortable about it when hes there like calling me and not drinking as much. I am overreacting? |
Question: Why do I get no answers when seeking advice? Posted: 19 Jul 2019 09:23 PM PDT I run a community based volunteer orchestra which has been together now for close to a year and a half. We are struggling for members in a town full of both student and adult musicians who play for fun. However, getting them to come to a rehearsal (for free, mind you) seems impossible. When I speak to one of our officers in the band, he just says, "I know you want pie in the sky with a large group. But, you have to understand it's going to take time." No response from him to suggestions of how to actually be proactive in recruiting musicians, except for what I mentioned above. It is very frustrating and I don't receive any help. I'm the Conductor, which I love. But I'm not a recruiter, marketing director for concerts, salesperson and copy machine of music all rolled into one. How can I seek real help and advice on this? (Other than just "pie in the sky, fella...") |
Posted: 19 Jul 2019 07:53 PM PDT I'm currently finishing my second Masters (in a different field). Recently I was chatting with a prof (not direct supervision) about how I've been waitlisted for PhD. One of the comments he made was, "they want people who can actually do research." Was this an insult? I've conducted interviews for my first Masters just as he did for his PhD. |
Question: Why does this guy that I work with is so caring? Posted: 19 Jul 2019 07:40 PM PDT He told me that if anyone says something inappropriate to me to let him know! I only recently started the job and that's how we know each other, just don't know why he even care about me |
