Question: Is it normal for a young guy (25/26) to spend a lot of time with old people? Posted: 14 Jul 2019 05:29 PM PDT My brother-in-law is 25 and will be 26 soon. So he's either the last of the millenials or the first of the Gen-Zers. But he spends a lot of time with older people. He drives the van for his church nd picks them up and hauls them to church. He's off on Sundays and Mondays and they go out twice a month on outings as a group and they changed the day of the week they do it so he can drive them. And he calls the men by their first name but he calls the women "Miss" plus their first name. Like Miss Ruby, Miss Jenny, Miss Betty, etc. But he doesn't do that with younger women. He also knows the birthdays of the ones in the groups and makes them banana bread for their birthdays. Some weeks he'll have three or four loaves to hand out. It's not that he hangs out all the time with them. He also does stuff with the people his own age n the church. Like he's on the baseball team and the bowling league. |
Question: Should I not worry about it? Posted: 14 Jul 2019 04:35 PM PDT My friends other friends took him out for his bday. I don't k ow his other friends that well so they didn't invite me. I shouldn't be hurt should I? |
Posted: 14 Jul 2019 03:13 PM PDT is it best for a guy to simply not get too serious with her? @viv: i won't leave her because i like girls and she is a girl. my concern is that she likes girls too but i'm not a girl. that's why i'm worried she'll leave me for a girl. |
Posted: 14 Jul 2019 02:17 PM PDT I'm a 27 year old female and I have a friend that's 59 and me and her used to text more then we have been for months and I have talked to her about this and she said she needs to do better but she hasn't been but yet she still wants to do things with me so what is her problem? I am really tired of us not really texting anymore and she hardly ever calls me it makes me not even want to be friends with her anymore and she also tells me she's not going anywhere |
Question: Can a 18 yr old male overpower a 23 yr old female? Posted: 14 Jul 2019 01:59 PM PDT I was discussing with my friend how the older person is more powerful even though they are the same height. My friend disagreed and got into a argument |
Question: How to reconnect with old friends? Posted: 14 Jul 2019 01:24 PM PDT I have some people in my life I stopped speaking to almost 8 years ago now. I just cut them out, I was going through some issues. My head was all over the place, it was all my issues and not theirs. Is it too long to reconnect? Would they not be mad at being cut out without any word of warning or any reason. Plus I don't want to explain my crazy head issues at the time to them, kind of a prefer to keep that to myself. |
Question: I’m so sad my neighbor is moving? Posted: 14 Jul 2019 10:27 AM PDT I've had these neighbors for around 12 years and I truly love them as people more than just my neighbors. I'm only 20, and I'm particularly close with the lady who's around 40, I know the age gap for a friendship is kind of large but we just get along really well and I often house/dog sit, watch the kids, and we just generally help each other out a lot. We have a weird bond that just makes me really sad that they're moving away. When she first told me about it I could tell that she wasn't really totally on board about the whole idea and she seemed sad herself. They'll only be 40 minutes away max, but it's hard to think about not being able to simply see them everyday outside and have those conversations. Has anyone had to deal with this or have tips on how to? |
Posted: 14 Jul 2019 10:06 AM PDT I didnt wear the brands and I went there alone. Why the hell did they suppose I wanted to catch them ?I had no idea who they were. |
Question: Is this a petty thing to get upset about? Posted: 14 Jul 2019 09:39 AM PDT So my friend does this really annoying thing. We play online games like battlefield , and sometimes he will mess around and shoot at me or throw a grenade. Heres an example of what he does. Last night I was in a building shooting at a guy, when suddenly the building I'm on exploded. It happens all of the time, so I instinctively just run. Didnt think much of it, just went somewhere else. He was like "what" I said "i didnt say anything" he said "did you see that building explode? That was me lol" another time I was trying to snipe someone, and I saw bullets flying past me torwards the guy I was sniping. I assumed one of my teammates was trying to shoot at him. I couldnt kill him so I just walked away. My friend said "what?" I said "what do you mean what?" He said "did you see those bullets hitting you?" I said " saw bullets flying pass me" "that was me" I was just like "okay.." i just think its lame he has to say something if i dont notice. |
Question: Get called the weird girl at school? Posted: 14 Jul 2019 06:37 AM PDT I'm literally the most unpopular girl in the whole school. Even the girls who get called losers are mean to me. I'm probably at the very bottom of the popularity list. I don't have a single friend. I get called freak freak show, geek ugly Betty cause I have glasses and braces. I get really badly bullied for being the ugliest kid in school. I have to eat lunch by the trash and sometimes the mean girls will drop their lunch on me on purpose. I wear very old fashioned clothes and enjoy school learning. I'll always give up breaktkmes and lunches to study or do homework or maths because I have no friends. I like classical music and playing chess and computer games. Would you say I'm weird??? |
Question: When the policemen tailgate you what do you normally do? Posted: 14 Jul 2019 04:19 AM PDT I get tailgated a lot by police officers. I am not sure of the reason Why? I do see them tailgate tractor trailer trucks as well. My car is a 2016 Toyota Corolla, I have a cb antenna mounted on top (magnet mount) My car still looks new and there isn't anything at all suspicious about it. I would be driving on the road whether it being a one lane road with a ditch on both sides keeping you from pulling to the side, or a dual lane road or interstate, and I get tailgated by these police officers. It is only onetime one tailgated me and then eventually turned on his blue lights and stopped me over something ludicrous, I had my high beams on in the pitch dark with no streetlights around and they are like 'you have your high beams on' or something like that. |
Question: I do not like to accumulate things that I do not want? Posted: 14 Jul 2019 04:06 AM PDT It happens that I bought 3 things that disappointed me, I published them on the internet to sell them but I do not like to keep them, but before selling them I would rather throw them away so as not to see them anymore, I do not have the patience to wait to sell them, but same time it hurts me to throw them away because they are new. What do you think you could do? Thank you! |
Question: How to cut a friend off? Posted: 14 Jul 2019 02:31 AM PDT So I have my two best friends, who I love very much, but we have this friend who I'm honestly thinking about cutting off. The thing is shes really fake, shes a bad friend, she says really ****** up **** to me all the time, and im just over it. The question is, how do I make this work? I have no idea how I'm supposed to cut her off when my friends will still talk to her. They feel the same as I do, but they wont cut her off yet because they'd feel bad she wouldnt have any other friends. Do I just not hang out when shes with them? What do I do? Thanks. |
Posted: 14 Jul 2019 12:57 AM PDT How would you feel about that? If you know for a fact that she lied and was hinting that you should drive together and share accommodations? |
Question: What is a good way to truly thank my best friend? Posted: 13 Jul 2019 11:47 PM PDT My best friend has been so amazing to me. I've known her for a little over 5 years now but we've only been best friends for 3 of those years. I sometimes have issues with self harm and just generally feeling down and sad, and she's stuck by my side through it all, helping me get through it even though it hurts her to see me do this to myself. She's never once denied me the chance to vent and get it all out, and she's never denied me forgiveness when I've hurt myself again. She gives the best advice on how to be happier or gentler with myself. She's truly amazing and I don't deserve her at all. I really want to thank her for all she's done for me. Any suggestions on how to thank her in a heartfelt way? Have you ever been in this situation, and what did you do? |
Posted: 13 Jul 2019 11:05 PM PDT I feel like I've grown out of my friend group. I've been in this group for almost 5 years. I've even known one of the people in this group for almost 9 years. The friends in this group have no idea how I feel, but if I started to just simply detach myself from them, I know they wouldn't let me leave. Instead I just try to avoid all outings with them, and I spend as little time as possible with them when I have to. Around them I still pretend everything is fine. Is there any way to detach myself from them while avoiding the awkward situation of them asking me to stay? |
Question: My best friend is starting to irritate me? Posted: 13 Jul 2019 10:51 PM PDT One of my best friends, let's just say J, is starting to increasingly make me more and more irritated with her. She doesn't care about what anyone says or wants unless its about her. She takes my stuff whenever I go over to hers (or she comes over to mine) and doesn't give anything back. She makes fun of people who are just having fun or are literally just standing there. She fakes things like stutters because she thinks it's cute (I've known her for over 5 years and I know for sure that she doesn't have a stutter). Every time im with her she talks about her other friends, and when I'm with multiple people with her she kind of ignores me, always talking to the others and paying a lot of attention to them. Every time I try to join conversations I find myself in the back when she's around. I don't know, she's just changed in a way? She moved to Idaho a couple years ago and it's just different whenever she visits. Am I being selfish? I'm just considering dropping her but I've known her for so long and I want to help her and stuff. She's always talking about how anxious and depressed (??? I don't think it's depression specifically but she always says she's just empty and sad so thats just what comes to mind I'm sorry). I don't know. What should I do? |
Question: Should I get better friends? Posted: 13 Jul 2019 10:41 PM PDT I felt drain and bad after meeting them on Sunday. They were talking badly about a guy who didn t have a job last year and said he was a loser. He got a job now at a very good company and they were laughing and said he got a silly job and he won t go far in life. He had an offer to move to a different state but his parents are elderly so he didn t take it up because he has to look after them. They said he was a loser for this. Also I have an Asian friend who is good friends with me and they were like they don t know how I hang out with Asian people and that they scare them. I found this rather narrow minded and racist. They met my Asian friend and acted fine around them but now they say this. Being around them really got me down. Am I right to now avoid them and make better friends |

Posted: 13 Jul 2019 08:32 PM PDT ok so there is a movie it s like fantasy and set in like older time period i think it used to be onNetflix, but maybe it was Amazon prime, anyway it had this girl and I think she moved in with like her uncle or something in this like remote forest woods location and he was kinda strange and rude but it was just because this girl he loved had died and at some point i think he plays the piano. there is alose a love interest, a boy with dark hair, but i font think it ever really happens it is just cutesy and stuff. at the end she sacrificed herself of a cliff and then she ends up living. its really good and kind of like the movies inkheart and stardust but I cant find anything about it bc I dont know the title pls help me. |
Question: Is my friend being sad or just plain rude? Posted: 13 Jul 2019 08:31 PM PDT I have a friend that i met 3 years ago. Let's call her Natalie. When I met Natalie we became really good friends right away but last year around the summertime Natalie started acting weird. She didn't text me as much, she didn't go out as much, she stopped using social media like answering dms or posting, etc. Around that same time she went on a diet, she lost around 10 pounds. A year later it's summer again and she's now worse than ever. I text her and she does text me back but she's barely active on social media, she's always home and i feel like she's not as happy to talk to me once she does. Other friends of ours think that she might have an eating disorder because of her weight loss and constant worry over her weight and calories but Natalie doesn't look unhealthily thin and she would've told me if she did. Should I just cut her off? Is she being a bad friend? This entire summer we've only went out once. I want to cut her off because she's being distant and it's hurting my feelings. |
Question: I’m really confused? Posted: 13 Jul 2019 08:05 PM PDT Ok so I have a friend. We met our freshman year in the dorms. I was really antisocial and depressed back then and just watched tv. He was cool/chill and watched movies to. He was therefore one of few people I associated with. Like I said I wasn't social so when he'd invite me I'd kind of flake and all. We did almost room our junior year. But because I flaked he found other friends but we were still friends. I came out of my shell very late, senior year, when he was socialed our,but despite that we still hung now and then. He didn't respond to my texts until year after graduation. No biggie ppl busy. I reach out to him year after though we chat he getting his masters in another state. We catch up even hang out once. All cool. I mean stones I'm a smidge clingy which he said is a little annoying but nothing bad u know. We chat now and then. He said how he gonna be working back in our state I'm like we should meet up he like sure. I ask him once doesn't respond I ask him again. He blocks me everywhere saying how he getting his life together and all and don't have emotional energy. Why would he do that? Does he have something bad in his personal life going on? It was deadass out of blue to cut of contact. |
Question: My only friend is leaving me.... HELP!? Posted: 13 Jul 2019 07:41 PM PDT I only have 1 real friend at my school along with about 2-3 other crappy ones I don t like. My real friend is leaving for another school because she doesn t like the "amount of homework" or whatever there. Now I m gonna have no friends and have to sit awkwardly in a friend group where I know no one. I ve tried to make friends with them but they re not interested and trust me when I say it s not possible. I just can t make friends because no one is open and I m too socially awkward. How can I either convince my friend to stay or just survive the next two years of high school without having breakdowns from feeling lonely all the time, and please don t tell me to join clubs or whatever or "put myself out there more" because it isn t working and I just need something else. Anyone have advice? I m desperate. Sorry this is long. |
Question: My best friend's ex made a move on me? Posted: 13 Jul 2019 07:23 PM PDT My best friend Jack dated Jill (fake name) for three years. They broke up when we started college, and he came out as gay. Jill and I never got along. I was protective of Jack, she and I would always argue and pick on each other. Even now, Jack is close friends with her, and asked her to be his roommate, instead of me. Was a bit jealous about that at first. But I basically live with them too - we're in the same apartment complex, and I'm always over to hang out. But Jack's finally meeting guys to date, so Jill and I wind up sharing a lot of time alone. Last night we were watching a movie and ended up sharing a joint. At one point, we dozed off and woke up cuddling. Had a long conversation that was actually cordial, and felt meaningful. But then she got that smug look on her face that I always hated and made some playful comment like "I know I drive you crazy." And then out of nowhere she pulled my pajama pants down and gave me a bl*wjob. Didn't even know what to say. Afterward, she just curled up against me and we dozed off again. Woke up in the morning while Jill was already up and getting ready to meet friends. I saw her topless and she didn't seem to care. Winked at me before she left. I'm dumbfounded. We've always hated each other, where did that come from? She's my best friend's ex, what's happening? |
Question: How to become liked when you aren’t? Posted: 13 Jul 2019 07:14 PM PDT I'm in high school. I've known for a little while that I wasn't liked by many people outside of my friend group, but it wasn't until recently I started caring. I'm pretty sure I know why I'm not liked. Ive been told I seem very narcissistic and became pretty involved in drama this year. I've got my friends who like me but there are some friends of my friends who don't like me. I know I won't be liked by everyone but can anyone please give me some advice on how to correct my bad impression with these people. By the way, I've never had any relationship or even any conversations with these people, they just don't like the personality I've been presenting (and I don't blame them) anyway please give me some advice. Thanks |
Question: What to do when you run into your ex coworker at the gym? Posted: 13 Jul 2019 06:51 PM PDT I am a bit awkward when it comes dealing with exs, that includes ex coworkers. So I run into this coworker who was very friendly with me when we worked together at the company, and we were good. But we don't work together anymore and we have different live now, so we don't have common topic anymore. I run into him prob 5 times a month at the gym, and every time we run into each other I don't know what to say. lol Can anyone help me? Is it ok just give him a peace sign( the thing u do with your hand) to acknowledge his existence and then continue my workout?Or it is too weird? HELP ME!!!! I feel so awkward that I go to the gym at the different time just to avoid running to him and other 2 of my ex coworkers. |
Question: My friend keeps asking me buy her stuff and i cant afford it? Posted: 13 Jul 2019 06:49 PM PDT She asks me buy her stuff that she doesnt need and is too old for like Strawberry Shortcake or Bratz DVDs or Funko Pop figurines. I live off SSI and it's not enough to live alone on, so important stuff comes first, like groceries and meds. She gets mad and upset when i tell i cant. I've asked her only once to get me something and she blew up. What do i do? Block her from my life entirely? Because she will not stop. A 31 year old that already has thoudands of dvds, doesnt need more, specially toddler ones. I am beyond fed up! |
Question: What does this mean exactly? Posted: 13 Jul 2019 06:04 PM PDT Friend says they don't have the emotional energy to hang out with me anymore. We're both guys by the way. I'm so confused. We were just friends but he seemed like a chill person. |
