Question: Is my brother a war hero just cause he served in Iraq? Posted: 13 Jul 2019 02:24 PM PDT My brother was born in 1984. As soon as he got his high school diploma he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He became a Marine 2 days after my 10th birthday,on sept 23rd,2003. He got deployed to Iraq in february of 2004. He stayed in the Marine Corps till about 2007 or 08. To my parents and many other people in our community he's a war hero. He's a good guy,I mean it's not one of those people who has ptsd or something but to me he's just Sean...the same guy I played hide and seek with. We play playstation sometimes,I mean he's an ordinary guy so it surprises me when people refer to him as a war hero. I mean I love him and everything but is he really a war hero? He didn't do anything particularly heroic. |

Question: Ex and I fight non-stop? Posted: 13 Jul 2019 01:19 PM PDT have to be, we bicker the entire time. It becomes this shameless blame game of, who is or isn't a horrible parent. I end up feeling so so bad if we argue in front of him. Sometimes one of us has the wherewithal to ask him to leave so we can have, "a grown up talk,", but unfortunately he's seen many arguments. Granted we don't yell, because we both figure that defeats the purpose of him leaving the room. I'm trying to figure out how we can minimize the amount we actually have to see each other. My one idea is, when I'm going to pick up him or vice versa, just send him down to the parking lot of the apartment complex so the other parent can just pick him up and leave. Should we try to work things out or go forward trying to see as little of each other as possible? |
Posted: 13 Jul 2019 12:54 PM PDT This is not meant to offend anyone, I am just looking for a cultural answer. One thing I dont like is when I am having a respectful disagreement with my mother and an African American man says to me, dont talk to your mother that way. It is none of a stranger's business for this and additionally most of the time I am respectful when I have heard this said to me. |
Question: Is it OK not to tell my mom this? Posted: 13 Jul 2019 11:14 AM PDT I am going to college and staying with my brother and his wife. I started to have painful periods. It was 5 days of hell. I could barely function. My doctor put me on medication that stopped my periods. It is wonderful. I don't have these terrible pains each month. My problem is the medication that stops my periods is also a birth control. My mother is a devout Catholic who believed that anyone that takes birth control is going to hell. My brother said we should just let this be our secret and not tell my mother what I am doing. He said if she knew I was on birth control, it would cause her needless worry. Do you think he is correct in us keeping this secret? |
Question: I can’t handle this anymore? Posted: 13 Jul 2019 09:14 AM PDT Ever since I was little I always remember my dad cussing at my mom when something didn't go his way , he mistreated her for any little thing but I didn't really pay attention to it when I was little because I didn't really understand , he's always treated my brothers and I poorly he cusses at us , puts us down and doesn't acknowledge our achievements I do something in life that I am really proud of and he says you could've done better or eh that isn't a big deal or he calls me stupid for not doing it his way , he always makes me feel like a piece of **** and like I'm not good enough , I have never heard my dad tell me he loves me or give me a hug he only tells me he loves me twice a year when he gets drunk if I'm lucky , what hurts me the most is that my mom just sits back and watches my brothers and myself get treated like trash because she's been mentally abused by my dad for 25 years she can't even see how they eat he treats her and others is wrong , I try to tell her how I feel about him and she shuts me down really quick and tells me I'm a bar person too and I'm disrespectful but the only reason I'm disrespectful is because I don't let my dad harass me anymore I tell him off because I've had so much anger towards him I couldn't hold it anymore and I explode every time he makes me feel like I'm worthless , my mom chooses my dad over my brothers and I all the time doing whatever it takes to make him happy I'm tired of this . |
Question: Parental advice regarding a book material? Posted: 13 Jul 2019 06:26 AM PDT "The Anarchist Cookbook" for a 17 year old. Utah. Not banned, I know beefore you tell me off he's old enough to read whatever he wants to read. Yet, should I advise him on reading or not that (for me) disgusting book? Cheers Sarah |
Question: I’m lost at life someone just help please? Posted: 13 Jul 2019 06:10 AM PDT So growing up, my parents always have been seperate but still married. This creates tension in the house regardless. i never really had a good father, he would just go to work and come home and repeat so i barely see him. My mother on the other hand would work to provide for us which i give credits. I have two other siblings both older as well. i don't really get a long with one of them but sometimes we do. i feel 100 percent unloved in my house, and idc if someone says "it's just family" my family is so toxic. my other sibling, every single arguement we've gotten into was completely her fault, but because she's the oldest it's mine. i remember one tkme i kindly told her to stop making noise while i do my homework and she flipped. i tried not to scream back but it's whej you hold in stuff for so long you can only let it go. when i tell you NO ONE believed me literally no single person. it's like i can't run to anyone for advice because no one understands me except God but i don't really get a direct answer. my mother shows so much favoritism to my other siblings, i barely get any recognition. i studied my *** off for SAT and scored 1100, and not one positive work came out her mouth. |
Posted: 13 Jul 2019 05:27 AM PDT My mother is not home. She gets home tomorrow and left town July 3rd. |
Question: Should I go to my cousin's funeral ? Posted: 13 Jul 2019 05:24 AM PDT Should I go to my cousin's funeral amazing to me when I was younger the thing is my family's going to be there and by family I mean everyone family from different states family I hadn't seen in a long time you get it . The problem is I'm currently going through a major withdrawal from a prescribed drug and I'm a complete wreck .I get really tense around anyone I see can't keep eye contact ,really awkward ,anxiety to extreme heights I just can't manage .its an extreme pain for me to even leave my house .I would really like to pay my respects and see my cousin for the last time but I think it might be to stressful for me right now especially since I haven't seen most of the people that's going to be there in a long time and I don't want my last impression to be of me in this state I know I will be awkward unless I take Xanax which I don't if it would work and is the reason I'm in this state . What would you guys do I would also like to mention that my dad and some of my family may be a somewhat disappointed if I don't go But I think it's best for the sake of the impression that I would like to give once I'm well . Let me just say I in no way shape or form want to make this about me I just wanted to see this from others perspective of if they were in this situation i miss my cousin I would literally stand in the back if I go probably I just know that I'll be seeing other family members and I know that I will have to talk and I don't want it to be an awkward or bad experience with family I haven't seen in awhile I am really sad that I might not get to go it really hits me hard |

Posted: 13 Jul 2019 01:28 AM PDT I didn't get a chance to clean then. She starts screaming non stop tells me she's really tried of my loud ******* mouth and mind u my son is listening as she putting away the soaked sippy cups. I literally snapped and said something I just don't get a chance but if u let me put my son to sleep and get to them when I can I'd do it. After that she tells me she only asks me to do one thing and this to wash the dishes before she gets home. And in all honesty something I can't . Since she refuses to let me child poof the house I have no safe place to put my son , and since I didn't clean the dishes 'soaked sippy cups' I'm selfish and now getting kicked out . |
Posted: 13 Jul 2019 01:27 AM PDT My babysitter is going on vacation for a week Mon-Friday next week so will not have a babysitter and will be bring my son to school with me he is almost 2. I have a midterm that Monday. So today is Friday I got my child up and took him to daycare . Got home soaked his sippy cups in the sink and studied my *** off and did hw knowing this weekend I will not have an opportunity to study. So I studied tell it was time to get my son. Got my son went to the grocery came home unloaded the groceries but then in the cabinet as I'm doing this I get a call from my mother telling don't let my son in her kitchen cause she doesn't want his finger prints everywhere. Side not typical she nags about something to me everyday. So after I got off the I quickly but everything yelling at my son not to touch things she walks into the house and the first thing she say is why r there dishes in the . There were literally just the sippy cups soaking . I look at her and said I'm really getting tried of u coming home and complaining. |
Question: I'm 20 and my mom still hits me? Posted: 13 Jul 2019 12:38 AM PDT I don't know what to do since I was 14 ahe sometimes spit at me and hits me why would she do that yo her own daughter? She hits me because she is moody or because I smell bad etc. |
Question: Why does his sister refuse to get along with me? Posted: 13 Jul 2019 12:15 AM PDT My fiance has Hodgkin lymphoma so its stressing him when she refuses to get along. we live with his family because rent is too high at the moment and jobs only pay $8 dollars. His sister can't stop complaining about me and will not let me speak she is 19 and I am 21. I love him but he is the only one I can vent to but it stresses him and my anxiety goes up. I already asked her what the issue is she says their is no issue. Her parents (I know she is an adult) are oblivious to it. She refuses to take care of her rabbit also. She complains i sleep in until 2 but I wake up at 930. I don't understand why She is pulling this. She talks over people to shut them up. I don't want him to die because of the stress I am about to shut up. I just get tired of her bull. Their brother also has jumped on my butt for getting after her for being a brat. They tell me to confront them if they have a problem but storms off or throws a fit when they get told off. I got tired of complaining one morning and i got my fiance up and they raised hell I got attacked by everyone besides him for waking him up and got called childish. Am i childish? I don't understand. If i help clean house (like my day to do kitchen) they slack and then complain that nothing but kitchen and the normal spots I clean got done. I am getting tired of it but i don't want to break up with him because that's what they want. How do i fix it with out leaving. She also tampered with my truck then told me to sell it. |

Question: Caught with Your Pants down..And over your head? ..? Posted: 12 Jul 2019 11:32 PM PDT My mom and older sister (28) just found 3 dildos in the bathroom sink. My mom knows that I have sexual tendenvies for anal play but doesnt fully understand what a kink is and that im not gay. She decided not to tell my sister and spill the beans. My mom came to me resently and told me that my sister is saying shes blaming my other sister saying she was the ones with the dildos. And that my younger sister (20) doesnt deserve to have **** said about her that isnt true, which I know she doesnt deserve. My mom suggested i lie and say i got them as a joke for a party..but I know that wont stick. The dildoes are all different ones super huge, ones a bumpy one, and ones a thin vibrator. I do t want to tell my older sister that there mine because i dont think they understand that Im not gay and i just like anal pleasure. Plus Id really appreciate my sexual particularities and behaviors to remain more discrete and not shouti g from rooftops that I use a 9inch aroumd dildo..Any advice would sufice.please keep shaming and bashing to a minimum i feel bad enough as I should |
Question: My mom might have cancer. I'm the only one that knows. Keep it a secret? Posted: 12 Jul 2019 11:05 PM PDT I accidentally found out and my mom doesn't want my older siblings to know. I'm the youngest, 28. Should I tell them?? :( She's taking more tests for a final result..I think she could use the support. |
Posted: 12 Jul 2019 10:56 PM PDT She has no creditors and no debt. She was in a nursing home. She wants me to give the money to her grandchildren. |
Posted: 12 Jul 2019 09:47 PM PDT So I unexpectedly wound up living at home this summer( I'm in college in another state) because I couldn't afford summer rent with the intention of finding a job in my home state. I finally found one and too hastily accepted the offer but now my parents are having difficulty finding someone to drive my sister to her summer camp and she might not be able to go.. I'm supposed to start the job in 2 days is it too late to back out now? |
Posted: 12 Jul 2019 09:33 PM PDT To be honest I never wanted to grow older since I thought less fun and more responsibility and seriousness of relationships. I miss middle school where things were much simpler. In adult life it worse. More pressure more jealousy in relationships and I have to worry about my health and money. I cant.enjoy simple things in life anymore |
Posted: 12 Jul 2019 09:20 PM PDT ... because my brother knows our bank account details and has a higher position in our family business. My parents, my other siblings and I might end up sacrificing our personal savings just to fund our family business and shared family earnings because of this. |
Question: Why are there so many single parents nowadays? Posted: 12 Jul 2019 08:41 PM PDT The rates of single moms are increasing. What's causing so many divorces and separations between parents, compared to before? I know it isn't the best environment for their children, although sometimes things happen and the parents can't do much. |
Question: My Mom doesn’t have a car. What should I do? Posted: 12 Jul 2019 08:35 PM PDT I am 13 going on 14 soon. My mom doesn't have a car neither does my grandparents. I am in distraught because I really want to do after-school activities and I get embarrassed when my friend's parents have to drive me around. Plus when my birthday comes up I think I can get a work permit and start to earn money. There's one problem with that, how am I going to get there? A bus doesn't come to my house so thats a no. The closet place I can work is an ice cream shop in a close city, and in order to walk I'd have to cross a busy highway and have the risk of getting kidnapped. Now you may call me bratty but for me getting a job I want to help out my family so they can get financially stable. |
Question: At what age is it ok to let your daughter sleep nude? Posted: 12 Jul 2019 06:52 PM PDT I realized she slept nude last night when I went in her room to wake her. Her dad doesn't know. |
Question: When the head falls down the chimney what are you all gonna do? Posted: 12 Jul 2019 06:03 PM PDT You and your family sets together around your Fire place. A thump bump bump is heard and a disembodied head falls out of the chimney hole and misses the fire and rolls in front of the fireplace. The disembodied head stares at you all and widens his eyes and yells. |
Question: How to ignore a ************? Posted: 12 Jul 2019 05:36 PM PDT so i'm 13 and my mom's boyfriend is 47! He's an alcoholic! he is the biggest a**hole i have ever seen! he gets mad at me over small retarded ****! like the other day i accidentally spilled some soda on the floor! i was gonna clean it up! but i told him it was an accident! and he still cussed me out! Calling me names! So I cussed at him back cuz he just pissed me off! and then my mom heard me and him arguing! then she comes down the stairs and starts going off on me for cussing back at the bastard! I told her he cussed me out over an accident! and then she's like oh i don't care don't disrespect my boyfriend! then she threatened to kick me out! this bastard also hits my mom and he's also very controlling to her that he has her brain washed! where can i go to sleep at because i want to get the hell out of her house and just run away! where can i go? |

Question: Since my dad is a bad man can I hate him forever? Posted: 12 Jul 2019 05:13 PM PDT He is so bad that his friend has terminal lung cancer and I wish it was my Dad instead of his friend. He lied to my Mom and she had to divorce him cause he is such a liar. He also doesn't pay the full amount in divorce alimony he is supposed to. Mom and I think he is probably dating even though they are not legally divorced yet. He also neglected his duties as a husband from what he promised which ads to his lies. I am only 13 but I hate him and wish he was sick with cancer. Can I hate him forever or will this make me seem bad to my friends? The closest friends know he lies and is bad. I should ad that my mother noted if he loved me he would not do this to her. So since he doesn't love me based on how he treats her then why should I not hate a father who doesn't love his 13 year old daughter and only child from this marriage (he has two sons from a previous one)? |
Question: How can kids this age be stronger than an adult woman? Posted: 12 Jul 2019 04:52 PM PDT So my son is a big pro wrestling fan. That's all well and good, but recently he had his friends over (also into this "sport" they see on tv) and they had some fun facing off against each other. This is also fine, but then someone came up with the brilliant idea that I should be their final opponent if they won. Everybody thought this was a great idea, cheering me on. Stupidly enough I agreed, thinking they're 11 and I'm a grown woman, how hard can it be right… Well it was HARD. I had my *** handed to me more times than I can count, these kids were freaking strong! It was fun at first but... Eventually I had to tell them I was going easy on them because they're kids to save face, but I really wasn't. I doubt they believed me anyway. At least they had to go home eventually... How the **** could kids that age be that strong? Note to self, don't get involved in any physical confrontations with anyone ever again... |
Question: My sexual assaultor die today, do you think I should go to the funeral? Posted: 12 Jul 2019 02:45 PM PDT The thing is he is considered "family" since he was related by blood to me. My parents say that I should go since other family members are going to be there and if I dont go it would look "bad". His family doesnt know what he did to me, and it was like 5 years ago. But it still is something that I'm recovering from. If I do go, what should I do. Thank You! it would be a service and his body is going to be displayed in a casket. If I go what kind of thoughts should I be thinking? to heal myself. |
Question: Why don’t my parents give me an allowance? Posted: 12 Jul 2019 02:19 PM PDT i'm 13 and i work harder than my dad. I have A and B grades and I keep up well with my schoolwork, I do almost every chore in the house possible and I take care of our animals and i'm always babysitting my little brother who is an absolute crazy baby. I don't want like $30 a week all i'm asking them is like $5 a week. their only reasoning for not giving me an allowance is because it's "all going to pay off my phone" and after 18 months (a year and 3 months) I can have an allowance, i'm obviously gonna get a job at publix (they hire are 14) before i'm allowed to get an allowance. they've pulled this "it's going towards something we offered to buy you" trick on me before and i never end up getting an allowance |
Question: What to buy someone for their birthday when you know it's their last one? Posted: 12 Jul 2019 11:00 AM PDT My mother in law has cancer with a diagnosis she has less than a year to live. We're giving her a party with all the family but cant decide what gift would be most appropriate. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thank you all for the condolences and great ideas. We're about ashamed we were only thinking of the materialistic. With your ideas we'll turn her birthday party into a celebration of her life. I'm sorry I can only give one best answer |
