Ok so me and my brother in law were talking about video games and he brought up how he made a video game in the past. I called him out on it and said it was bull. Then he said that his best friend and him made it and was bout to publish it and stuff but then he went to afganistan and ended up getting shot. And he lies like this stuff all the time. So i was like yeah right youre such a liar sending laughing emojis and stuff. But then i researched a lil and i found his obituary and i found a tribute video and i saw he was his friend on facebook and that everyone was typing RIP in his comments. Then my brother in law sent me a picture of a plague that has a picture if his friend and it says in loving memory. I felt so bad and as i was typing how nad i felt he sent me a f you and i didnt respond because i didnt know how.

One of the members of my group chat schooled me for being wrong about a certain topic. I decided to look it up and I was wrong. I was going to tell him I was sorry for being wrong, but when I returned to my groupchat to see what was going on, I saw that he took it open with other people and called me a retard, which pissed me off. We argued back and forth for a bit and I tried to be as calm and reasonable. Other guys told me not to take seriously because it was stupid. Then I was removed from group chat. The other the other guy got to stay, so I assume he was friends with everybody. I feel borrible after this and now I'm questioning if my social skills are horrible. Please help. Thanks

So I'm very private with my social media. I only follow/let others follow if they're in my circle of family and close friends. In short, I'm a private person. But there's someone who recently requested to follow me that used to be really close to me. We were really good friends, even with some bumps in the road. But we haven't talked in a couple of years... we just drifted off I guess, with our work taking us separate ways. If you were in my shoes, would you let her follow/follow or no?

2 of my frens had a sudden conflict today and i thought they were going to get into a fight. So i tried to stop it. I ended up turning on one friend to protect the other.. I want to make it up to him. I dont want him feeling bad, what do i do to maje it up to him or at least help him to not feel bad. I feel so horrible cuz he has never been rude to me in the slightest, in face he s been kind, had nothing but a good attitude everytime i saw him. I dont want him feeling bad for something that i could ve handled better. I tried apologizing verbally immediately but that didn t work cuz it was right after wut i did. And actions speak louder than words. Yes, at the moment I was mad at both him and the other friend. At the moment, they both threatened each other, so I threatened both of them. To help you understand better, I wrongly lashed out at the kind friend more than the other friend, but then i realized that he was only trying to defend himself. I lashed out at the kind friend more because I had a crush on the other friend, so I automatically put him above all else, that's why I lashed out. And the kind friend was only trying to defend himself, and I turned on my own friend, for someone I barely know. I feel so horrible, which is why I want to make it up to him, should I just avoid both of them altogether? We're in high school and the kind friend and I sit together, should I just sit somewhere else? I don't wanna pretend like its ok..

Hello world. As cynical and narrow-minded as this may sound I really do think I m starting to lose hope in my mother. Things are a LOT better than they used to be and we ve both made serious progression in our relationship but I can t help but say something just ins t clicking. She lied about me to my mentors and close friend, forcing me to take a long time disconnected to those dear to me. And in all honesty that hurt. On top of that she wants me to apologize for something i didn t even do and has been enforcing it for so long I even started to believe what she said to be true. :( Don t get it wrong i m no angel but i did sincerely apologize for the things i did do. I had two best friends growing up. The three of us were practically inseparable. We were like the sisterhood trio of the three musketeers. Then something happened. Slowly over time as we all grew up and went off to college we got more and more distant. Not just distant by millage, but distant by connection. It's been over a year since we met up. It's been months since either of them have even attempted to contact me. The most I get from either of them is the occasional "like" on Facebook. I've tried to reach out, but it's been one sided. Mostly small talk and it never lasted long. We've tried to make plans but they've always fallen through. The last time I spoke to them they said they would "check their schedule." They never got back with me. What hurts me the most, though, is neither of them have expressed their condolences when they found out my dog had passed away. Not sure if you understand this, but to me my dog was family. We had to put her down 4 months ago. Sadly she had a terminal cancer and there was nothing we could have done. I grieved like hell and I found no comfort from either of them. I just feel like they have totally abandoned me and moved on with their lives without me. Have you experienced anything like this? Should I even consider them friends anymore?

I have this friend. Let's call her X. Anytime we have a fight, I always get anxiety and it ruins my whole day waiting on her reply because every-time we have an argument, she will ignore my texts and say we can't be friends again and block me and want me to beg until she finally agrees. I now know it's manipulation. So what do you suggest I do because with other friends if we get into an argument, it does not really affect me and we talk and get over it but with her it's different. What do I do? and also what can i do so it doesn't happen again. 

I can begin conversing with kids once they reach 12 or 13 but until then I tend to avoid them because i really have nothing to say to them. Hence why I don't want kids, is anyone else this way or is it just me?

i have a friend who essentially always has some kind of self conflicting dilemma. I know a lot of him being so emo around our friends is an attention thing just based on how he acts but we all care for him so much that we dont even care. So with that being said, how do i go about helping him when he just wants to be a sad boy? Sometimes he's just so goddamn emo it hurts

I'm 18 going on 19 this year. But all these years I don't have any real true friends that I can stay close with. A few good friends I have come from the Internet. But it is because of this that I can not keep in touch with them like at least, once every two days (I totally understand because after all no one actually live on the Internet to feed their souls like I have to do). There are many acquaintances in my real life, but none of them are true friend materials. They are either hypocrites or too stupid, too supercilious, or too stubborn to even try to understand someone else. The fact that I feel lonely is not on me, for I'm kind to almost everyone. Maybe it's on me. I'm an freaking introvert. I freak out, a lot. I have lost hope in people around me. But still I wish to have some true friends, like those who would fight with and for you, not just smile and laugh. I do believe there are still kind people out there. But somehow I can't get the chance to have them as friends. I don't know. Is it not a good time to have a friend? Should I just work on my dream and thus meet my those friends along the way? okay, so the other day me and my best friend were on ft and she was with some of her friends and they were having a sleepover. she said something that had mildly offended me, so then she held up a heart with both her hands. i then said "i don't want ur petty hearts" in kinda jokingly way. she then said "yes u do" in a condescendingly hot way lmao. i didn't know what to say after that haha. this isn't something she'd do to others and i'm real confused.

My friend has always gifted me with things that are results of her talents and skills. She did a piece of art for me once, for example, and she planned a trip for me since she s good at coordinating events. I want to reciprocate what she does for me and her birthday is coming up. Two things that she often finds to be my best traits are my writing (I m a journalist) and photography.
