Question: Should I care that I have never met my father? Posted: 09 Jun 2018 01:10 PM PDT Im a 17 year old girl, i have no siblings and i only live with my mum. I have never talked to my father, met him or seen a photo of him. For me he is a stranger. I don't know anything about him. My father left us before i was born, i don't know the whole story about it becasue i can feel that my mum don't want to talk about it When i ask. I have since i was a child always been jealous of my friends since they had fathers and i didnt. I later learnt to accept the fact that he didnt want to meet me or even keep a touch with me. But know i can't stop think about it. I feel like im not loved enough. I feel like he don't care about me. I feel like he wont ever try to reach out to me, that it will be my responsibility to reach out to him. But i feel like he wont want to meet me if i do reach out to him. It feels like i have a piece that is missing. I have very lightly talked to my mum about how i feel but she don't understand me. She had a father and siblings that cared about her When she grew up, she don't understand my situation. I don't know what i want to get from this post. I just suffer from bad anxiety where i tend to feel very lonley sometimes, this week has been a very bad one. I just want to see if there is someone out there that have been in the same situation as me or have any suggestions to me. Thanks |
Question: What to do about racist, ignorant neighbors and their influence on my nephew? Posted: 09 Jun 2018 12:36 PM PDT My next door neighbors are horribly racist Their kids are in high school, white, and walk around with their white friends saying the N word and the F slur like it's nothing. They have "white lives matter" t-shirts that they wear all the time because they think it's hilarious, and once "jokingly" asked me if my friend who wears a hijab is a terrorist. (At least they had the bottom-of-the-barrel decency to not say it to her face). I don't hear their parents say stuff like that nearly as much, but I get the impression that they're of the same mindset, especially since they clearly don't mind their kids saying these things right in front of them. If it wasn't for my nephew (who lives with me) being friends with the kids I would just ignore them as best I can. But they are friends and I'm afraid what their influence will be on my nephew in the long run. I already see him laugh at their racist and homophobic "jokes" and I don't want him to think that their behavior is at all okay. I feel like saying they can't hang out anymore won't do anything because we live so close and they're in the same grade. What should I do to keep the racism out of my house and out of my nephew's worldview? Thanks for any advice. |
Question: How do I set ground rules with mother in law? Posted: 09 Jun 2018 12:26 PM PDT We just had a baby and my mother in law is throwing fits about how we are dealing with the new situation. I'm staying calm and for the next month or so I really dont want my house full people or opinions. She has a hard time with boundrys already. She has told me that my husband will always rely on her over me just watch. Ive not reacted to it because its not true. She wants both my son and my husband over at her house all the time and I'm not okay with that. She lives to close for comfort already and I underatand she still wants to be top dog and its hard to let go of control. She always makes up compitition between her and my parents when they have barely had contact with nor do they want too. How do i set boundries? Or do I turn in another direction? I dont want her trying to control my life but I also want her to be able to be apart of her grand babies life. |

Question: Should a parent allow their 10th grader to befriend a 21 year old? Posted: 09 Jun 2018 09:17 AM PDT I know my 16 year old and this young woman are both female but I'm concerned about maturity differences. My daughter isn't even ready to drive or attend a music festival alone yet. She's a teenager and this girl is an adult. I've raised my child well enough for her to refuse drugs and alcohol (until she's of legal age which is 18 or 19 in Canada). I don't think there's any other issues I'm concerned about besides the maturity between someone who is 16 and someone who is 21. |
Question: I have a son I never knew about and the mother wants to 'talk'? Posted: 09 Jun 2018 08:46 AM PDT When I was in college I went on a study abroad trip to Russia, I speak it fluently so I would flirt with the local babes. Me and this one girl lets call her Dasha, dated while doing the study abroad and I got a Facebook message from her. She's living in Brighton Beach NY, and she has a son and she knows that Im the father. She sent me a picture and the kid at three looks just like me minus my eye color, he has his mother's green eyes. She said that she thought I should now about my son, she is a single mother who works as a waitress. She told me that she would've told me sooner but she couldn't find a way to contact me. Heres the catch, she said that the her son has amblyopia and needs surgery on the eyes and that she needs my help for paying for it. Im 25 she's 21. What do I do? Im so overwhelmed. |
Question: Can my sister move my mom grave without my my permission? Posted: 09 Jun 2018 08:34 AM PDT |
Posted: 09 Jun 2018 07:35 AM PDT My aunt who usually hosts is a very proper woman so self-inviting is not polite. I want her to see I am interested and that my Dad keeps me in the dark but I don't want her to feel I am saying "invite me please" even though an invitation is what I want. It is painful to miss events all the time and I am missing one tomorrow thanks to my Dad. My Dad is a deceptive person but his family is wonderful so I want to join in more even though he is distant due to his ignorance. |
Posted: 09 Jun 2018 07:32 AM PDT Both children are young adults. |
Posted: 09 Jun 2018 02:25 AM PDT I have a best friend, we have a very special bond. We have been best friends for 2 years, we have shared many life experiences together, share tons in common, we are kindred spirits.. We are both women, we have huge age differences. I am 20, she is 56, although we just get a long so greatly. It is like we have known each other for a veryyyy long time. We talk on the phone every day, even multiple times a day. She always calls me in the morning at 7 am while shes driving to work, during her breaks she will call, whether we are having good or bad days we always talk. Why do you think we call and talk to each other every day? |

Question: Being called a mistake, what should I do now? Posted: 08 Jun 2018 11:59 PM PDT I had a big fight with my dad this week. to the point where I'm grounded and I'm not ready to apologize even if he'll unground me and will give me back my phone I would still not apologize! One of my best friends said I have to apologize because I was wrong... so I did. When I was talking to him we started talking again about why the fight started "Was it ok of you to act that way?" "No" "Now let's try that sentence again" "No sir it wasn't" I got angry at him for humiliating me! He got angry again and then he said something that I'll never forget "you're just a military mistake I made when I was 19" My heart shattered.... the only thing I could think about was how could he say that? being called a mistake and knowing you weren't supposed to be born is the worst feeling in the world... thinking my dad could be happier if I weren't born, I feel so bad. I'm 16 |
Question: Why do I feel guilty for confronting the family member? Posted: 08 Jun 2018 09:30 PM PDT A family member took money off my credit card and sent it to someone else. I confronted them about it. |
Question: Why is my Dad so snarky and rude sometimes? Posted: 08 Jun 2018 08:09 PM PDT It's hard sometimes. It really it. The other day we had to run somebody errands and grab a bite to eat. Well my dad is really bad at making decisions so simply suggested that maybe we go to the store first then eat so we won't feel rushed. He then responded with a "sounds good! Whatever you want!" And he wasn't trying to be nice he said it in a nasty tone |

Question: Sister in Law being overly bearing? Posted: 08 Jun 2018 08:05 PM PDT So I'm 17 and live with my brother and sister in law. So, My sister in law heard from my friend that my boyfriend hit me when he was drunk so now I'm basically forbidden from speaking to him. So now my sister in law wsnts to know where I am at all times as if my boyfriend is some sort of psycho. My friend said that she'll chill out after a bit and it just really upset her. |
Question: What is more important: (please read the decription)? Posted: 08 Jun 2018 07:55 PM PDT What is more important: your own happiness or someone else's happiness what if those someone else are your parents and the only way to make them happy is for you to be unhappy? |
Question: How can I stop playing with fire? Posted: 08 Jun 2018 06:40 PM PDT I've been clean of playing with fire for a while but then I moved to Cali and I'm staying with my cousins. My little cousin Sawyer pulled me back in. How can I stop? It doesn't help that most of the family I'm living with are smokers |
Question: BE HONEST, Did my brother molest me? Posted: 08 Jun 2018 06:34 PM PDT Please let me know if I'm overreacting or not, let me know what exactly he did bc I'm confused. I was doing my project when my brother comes to me, hangs around a bit, and I was going to go to the bathroom when he stops me and says "I like you." I thought nothing of it bc he's my brother and I like him too. I try to go again but then he says "No, I LIKE you." I just think he's being stupid so i go but then he follows me into the bathroom and I try to kick him out but he wouldn't go. So I try to leave but then he holds me back and 'shh's me. I'm holding the door frames trying to escape but then he starts putting his hands down that area and I start to freak out and I elbow him and run upstairs before he could actually.. touch me. Why would he do that? I'm really confused bc he's never done anything like this before. He said he was playing but idk. What play is that? I hated it It's gross and I wanna know did he touch me? As in molested? He didn't actually but he was so close to, he put his hands under my shorts. I'm underage and he's older than me.. :/ pls let me know |
Question: Am I over reacting about how my mil is? Posted: 08 Jun 2018 06:11 PM PDT So ive had issue with my mother in law since before we got married. She always acts like what she has done or said shouldnt change my opinion of her. For example we talked about getting a dog when we moved and she said not in my house little girl. When my husband proposed to me he asked my father and than asked me. When he told her she threw a fit and littarly forced him to redo it that night.. She has bad mouthed my family in front of me after they treated her like family. She tries to make her son choose sides and he's told her he won't. If she has a problem with me she wont say it to my face but to her son and the rest of her family. Now that we have a son on the way she has tried to make herself the center of everything. I could go on but its to much.I never say anything because my husband prefer I not so she doesnt throw a fit and act a fool. What do I do and am I over reacting? |

Question: [[URGENT How do I get privacy without having to go somewhere else? Posted: 08 Jun 2018 04:32 PM PDT I want to be alone in my room without my brother (who shares a room with me) telling me "ITS MY ROOM TOO!!!!" and refusing to leave! He tells me "GO TO MOM'S ROOM SHE'S NEVER IN THERE", but she has a TV in there, and being a paranoid freak, I don't want the FBI watching over me, since that'll make me stressed even more. I just want to relax and not worry, alone, without the FBI, without my brother, JUST IN MY OWN ROOM! Please help me! PLEASE NOTE SHE FORCED ME TO SHARE A ROOM WITH HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
