She made an entire blog dedicated to this band, all she listens to is their music, and she joined a chat group with other people who are obsessed with this band and she's always talking with them 24/7. If we're having a conversation, she's always looking at her phone and checking her messages from her new chat group friends. Mind you, these aren't even people she knows in real life, but she's always talking about how they're her best friends and how she can't wait to visit them someday. It's really pissing me off because she's stopped texting me, stopped hanging out with me as often, etc. in favor of ogling over this band with her new groupie friends. I tried to confront her about her problematic obsession one time and and got mad at me, saying that she doesn't know how anyone couldn't like this band and that the band is all that she needed in her life. It's like my best friend turned into an alien! She's my only close friend and I've just been so lonely now that she's ignoring me. What should I do? |

For a whole year my daily schedule was -Morning workout -Eat -Spare time (netflix, youtube, games, making beats) -Hang out with Friends at noon (smoke weed, beach, park, etc.) -come home and sleep around 4-5am Usually on my spare time, i tend to feel lonely and depressed. Is it just me or am i really a loner? |

We are both straight girls but we'll even say that sometimes we do really act gay. We just have a really really close connection. But she said that she wasn't weirded out by it and that she was honored that I feel that way. She said if I was a guy we'd already be dating by now. She will cuddle with me and hug me and call me cute and perfect and she says she never does that with anyone else. She also giggles and will even tell me I never giggle with anyone else so we'll have to test it when I get a boyfriend to see if I'm gay for you. My feelings are real even though it's innocent bc I've never been attracted to girls except her but nothing in more than just a cuddling, always thinking of her and would kiss her kind of way. She'll even say "well get married" or that if I had a boyfriend right now she'd be a little jealous. We call eachother baby and pretty and we're just really close and we connect so much. But I kissed her last night twice and she didn't turn away or anything but I said you're not kissing me back and she said well you're the one kissing me and it was a peck and that's all I wanted but did she even want too? Everything has been normal and fine today and nothing has changed. Any advice? |

Hes in therapy/on meds but it doesn't help. He messages me on FB a hundred times a day & constantly texts. The second i open my facebook he messages me. I feel like i cant even open and check Facebook because the messages start flooding in. Like he sits there and waits to see when i was last active. If i dont answer he says "u were just active 10 minutes ago and you didnt answer me"! Ive even tried turning off chat and it doesnt stop him. Ive tried telling him several times that i feel overwhelmed with all the texts, and that we can be friends and not talk every second of every day. Then it stops for a day or two and starts right back up again. Telling him does nothing. I have a spouce and family that i have to take care of and i feel like i have to be a therapist to him on top of my home life. One of my kids is handicapped and that in itself takes a lot of my time and energy. But my friend still expects i cater to his every text. He lives far away and has no car so he cant come here to my home but the calls and texts are so overwhelming. I dont want to end our friendship or hurt his feelings but i feel out of options. Im also afraid ending the friendship could cause him to harrass me more or possibly talk bad or spread lies and stuff over facebook about me. But i cant take much more. It feels like a toxic one sided friendship. Idk what to do.. |

Over the summer she became a part of our friend group and I had a class with her before so we became pretty good friends. She would talk to me and wave when we saw each other in the hallways and we would just get together within our friend group pretty often. Recently though, we just haven't seen each other and have really fallen out of touch. She is a great person and a really good friend when we were closer. Everyone I know feels the same way I do, except for the sheltered people. Why are they different? It's so strange, it's like it doesn't occur to them that bullies or mean people are real. The group that does drugs, drinks, and competes with who can screw the most girls. Sadly I go to an all-boys private school and know that if I bridge their safety or put them on the verge of a major injury, I will face the consequences. Posted: 03 Jan 2018 08:03 AM PST So my best friend is pretty popular on campus, and when we re hanging out around school people always approach her and just interrupt us and start talking to her and act like I m not there (they ll say hi and smile but that s it). One time someone came up to us and then the two of them just started walking away from me and talking so I just turned around and left. I didn t do anything to make these people not like me, so I think possible reasons I m treated like this are either: a) people just like my friend a lot and want to talk to her and/or b) I m a bit shy with people I don t know well, so maybe people use this as an excuse to ignore me. Either way, I m searching for tips on how to deal with this. Should I say something and force myself into the conversation next time this happens or just walk away? |

I'm not even sure if I have feelings for her or anything, we're just friends, but lately I feel like she's been avoiding me. She didn't even write happy birthday on my facebook. We talked like once a week before that on FB, and we see each other once a week and talk then. I cut contact, I'm not sure if it was for my sanity or for her, but I do care about her in some fashion. We've been out of touch for about a few weeks now, though we did run into each other the other day, she said how are you, I said good, and moved along, because I don't know what to do right now. Part of me is wishing she'll message me just saying hello, and another part of me is saying should I try talking to her, and another part saying can I feel good about not talking to this person at all. I feel like my mind is racing over nothing right now. |

One big clue is that for the group leader, I'm the butt of nearly all his jokes. Now yes I know there is good-natured ribbing, and he'll even I get a chuckle out of a lot of them, so clearly I'm not afraid to laugh at myself. But some of his jokes I might find a little embarrassing. Now I know people sometimes offend others unintentionally, but it happens more often than not. Also I have noticed that within the group, there is this sense of warm camaraderie. Like they're all really excited to be around each other and be interacting with each other, and I don't get that same feeling from them. Some of their enneractions with me feel forced. And finally, a lot of times I'll say stuff, and I realize certain stuff is just funny, and I'll say certain things, that in hindsight I know are cheesy, yet I was also being sincere, and yet they get a snicker out of it. So do I have the right conclusion about them? Or am I taking things to seriously? Now granted I've done this kinda stuff to others too. Not kept them around for entertainment, but certainly didn't mind laughing behind their back, especially if they were acting like a total dweeb - as I said certain things are just funny. However there was never any cruel intention toward them either. And I would never tease them about something that could/would be potentially embarrassing for them, in a group. And I never spread embarrassing stories about them. |

I have gone through 3rd to 9th grade without having atleast one friend. I've never been invited to a sleep over or a party. My sisters have lots of friends. They all hang out laugh and enjoy life while I rot away in my room either sleeping, listening to music or crying. I don't do my homework I don't participate in school in I don't do anything anymore. Waking up is so hard because it's like I have to pull my mind out just to wake up. There is a sad feeling in the pit of my stomach that won't go away. People don't talk to me or even look at me. I tried to look better by doing my hair, makeup, but still no one says anything. My parents force me to go to school everyday when I scream cry and beg to let me stay home. My dad throws me out of my bed when I wont get up. And then when I get to school while everyone is socializing in the hallway 20 minutes before the bell rings I go up into the bathroom and cry. I have asked my parents multiple times of I can get homeschooled online but they keep saying it will only make me worse. They act like school and making friends and my grades are my life. That's all I live for. I never do anything when I come home I just sleep. It's like a never ending nightmare. Every day feels like the same. I am just going to refuse to eat until they agree to enroll me in online school because I can't take it anymore. |

It seems rather insulting, or demanding, to remove people because they don't talk to you. Yet, I always see people post on social media how they're removing friends, and only keeping "real" friends. So why punish the friends that aren't toxic? It's a short life, so I can't understand how people can find others so disposable. There is a line between "taking care of yourself" and "being unnecessarily cruel" I see no benefit to removing people on the sole grounds that you don't talk, or they don't give you attention, that's not all friendship is. |

He was amazing and I felt we would have been perfect for each other. At the time, I was 18 and he was the first guy I ever dated. I realized I wasn't ready for a relationship and broke up with him. We still have each other's numbers and I've hit him up to see how he's doing once or twice in the past year. He is still very nice to me. I want to ask if he would give me a second chance. We both are huge fans of Pentatonix, and we talk about them. The thing is, it seems that she ignores me at times, but she could also have hearning problems. Today in the hallway when I asked her something, and someone else talked to her, and she didn't answer in the middle of it I remember that even before I found out that she was a Pentatonix fan, she was still super nice. She is still nice, I just don't know if she would want to be friends. I also haven't mentioned that she is a lot more popular and pretty than me. She is in the 2nd most popular group, and is friends with a lot of popular people, whereas I don't have ANY school friends. I guess I have one, but I don't like her because she's kind of mean and talks behind other's backs all of the time. That girl is very pretty, and has many friends, and I am not pretty. I don't know if others are biased in picking friends because of how pretty they are, but this could be a factor (because I have many scars on my face, and I'm overweight) (It's not too bad, and I also swim on a team 4-5x a week) Also, I really want to hang out with her, but I REALLY don't want to make the first move, because I don't know what we'd do and I don't have experience of hanging out (because I have no friends). So what would I do, and when should I ask her? And does she want to be friends? I didn't mention that I am not making ALL the efforts. Sometimes she talks to me about Pentatonix without me saying a thing. Like when she gets new merch, or some inside jokes related to Pentatonix. And if I hang out with her, it can't be at a Pentatonix concert because they aren't coming to my location. I had social anxiety in 6th grade, it's starting to creep back a little. She's kind, fun-loving, extrememly caring...but I can't figure her out. She comes to my house but hangs out with my brother who is 12. They are constantly together. She is always rough housing with him and talking with him. When she's with him, it's like everyone and everything else is invisible. They drink after eachother and she wears his jacket sometimes. She prefers to hang out with him and his friends. And she is very defensive of him whenever anyone says anything even remotely bad about him. Why? |

She still loved him deeply and her ex said he was over her and liked someone else and was going to lose his virginity to them. She got worse. She hacked into his snapchat and saw he liked one of her close friends and she got super pissed. She made a fake snapchat under the name Harmony. She added some people he was talking to, him, and herself. The next day, she started saying stuff like "I know a lot about you" and then she started to threaten him with stuff like "If you lose your virginity to this person, I will ruin you and your ex's life" And he obeyed. She also made him talk to her 24/7 and he has to hang out with her sometime this week. But she got what she wanted, she got him to admit that he still had feelings for her but just tried to pretend he didn't. Is she psycho? |
| Posted: 02 Jan 2018 08:28 PM PST So, yes, as I was watching the children during their free time, I saw my much, much younger cousins (10 years of age) being horrible to one of their classmates. I will be the first to say wholeheartedly that children are cruel. Essepcially my dear cousins. They are the self proclaimed popular girls in a group of kids that thinks highly of themselves. Every school has them. Anyway, the managed to find one girl to pick on. She did not look like her other classmates and she was alone for the duration of the time I've seen her. So, when I saw them making fun of this girl, making her cry, and so on, I took my younger cousins and the other girl to the office and reported them for bullying. Because this happens so often, they were suspended for 2 days. Which, I think could have been handled better, but it is better than taking no action at all. Their guardians, also family, are furious with me. They told me I have no right to do this to family. Did I do the right or wrong thing? |

Posted: 02 Jan 2018 08:26 PM PST In my highschool years I had a best friend that was from the same hood as I was, we both were one of the poorest guys in the school so that made our friendship even better, half of the free time we used to hang-out and he was like brother to me. But since I was popular and he wasn't everyone started telling me to stop being friends with him and that he would never fight for me if I'll get into the problems with someone, but I wasn't listening to them and then my sister started telling me to stop being friends with him and girl I liked didn't want to date me because she didn't like the fact that I used to hang out with my friend all the time, so one time I've got into the argument with him and made one of the biggest mistakes and told him to gtfo my life and that I don't want to be friends no more, so he left and soon the summer came and after it was almost over I realized my mistake and came to his house to apologize but no one was there, then one of my friends told me that he moved to new York in the middle of the summer. And about 2-3 years passed and he wrote only ones to me on Instagram saying that we're cool and that he's still my friend and then left Instagram and never came back. All I want now is to just know that he's OK, and still alive and that his life is going good now. |

Finally, dad n I had 1 of "the talks" and it made things fall into place, I realized I hadn't set a boundary yet. I know a number of you will say that it's fine, so what I'm saying is I'm looking for a SIMPLER way of saying this without making the situation dramatic, at all. Well, at least not so much that it feels like I'm in an episode of a soap opera. Here's what I got so far: "I need to tell you something and you're probably going to not like it, but I need to tell you before it becomes too late. I should've told you sooner but I thought I was ok with it. I'm sorry....It's that I'm not ok with the inappropriate subject, or the topic of drugs. I'm really sorry to have to tell you this way, I thought I was ok with it because it didn't seem to go that far, and I was trying to loosen up a bit. But it's not the typical thing I talk about. The people I'd most likely talk about that with would be my parents, and I don't even feel comfortable talk about that with them. I'm really sorry, I should've told you sooner but I really did think I was ok with it until about a few days (or weeks, depending on the date of our next hang out) ago. However, because I'm very new as a cashier, I have to be Web-based training, which I did today. Today, when I got in the supermarket, nobody even noticed I existed. I had no service on anything!! Which c'mon!! I bust my *** in the freezing ******* cold and rain to go to the job interview (at the same place) and the job orientation and when I get my *** to work on time, nobody knows who the **** I am?/!! I mean, come the **** on! Anyway, I couldn't punch in my badge #, and I told the customer service about it. I'm very confused about my schedule. The schedule that I received during my orientation says my training schedule, so the time and dates are what I'm going to follow. Above my paper says that if I want to check my schedule online, to go to the store website and sign in. And i do, but when I type in the password and USER ID that they give me, IT DOESN'T ******* WORK!!!! I tried calling back the woman who gave me the password, but everyone says she isn't here. I don't want to assume that my training schedule is my working schedule. I'm so confused about my schedule and extremely frustrated about nobody noticing I'm a new employee. If I didn't come into to work today, I bet nobody would even noticed or cared about if I came in or not. I don't want to be ignored!! What's the point of working if nobody even notices that you ******* EXIST!!! What should I do about this?/ Cause it's ******* driving me crazy!! |

My best friend Ian graduating early in two weeks and I'm gonna be alone for the rest of the school year. All the school events I'm going to attend alone and be alone during lunch. She's my support. And my classes this year feel meaningless. Everyone else has APs or college classes and I don't. I feel like I'm wasting time and college is going to start soon too. So the summers gonna go by quick as well Idk but I feel hopeless and lonely. I should be having the time of my life this year. But I feel so sad. Idk what to do. |
