Question: Guitar or engagement ring? Posted: 21 Nov 2016 02:26 PM PST I've been with my bf almost two years now, and thoughts of marriage have come up. He makes around 15$/hr and lives on his own, he's 21. He's played music since he was a kid and has instruments and still strives to make it big one day musically. Well, we've disagreed on a few things. I've always dreamed of a nice wedding and ring. Well the ring I wanted was roughly around 1,000-1,800. but I'd settle for one that's around 800$. He doesn't have much money but is buying an antique guitar for 1,500 but tells me that the price of a ring shouldn't matter that it will only decrease in value unlike a guitar and basically how this guitar is his future/dream. He told me he'd buy me a cheaper ring and buy a nicer one for me when he gets more money. He also said it's not that he doesn't want to get me the ring I want, he does but would have to have more money. But still goes and buy a 1500$ guitar? We've had disagreements/conflict on this because I was upset that he'd spend that on an instrument and not on a ring for me. He told me I wouldn't understand because I'm not a musician and that it's an investment he's making. It just made me feel bad and I didn't want to sound like a spoiled brat that I "need" an expensive ring. He sees it more as it's them meaning not the size/price. We wouldn't be getting engaged until a year or two from now, it's just talking at this point and up in the air. Opinions? |
Question: Who is supposed to sit at the top table at a UK wedding? Posted: 21 Nov 2016 08:45 AM PST Is it meant to be the bride, groom, maid of honour, best man and the bride and grooms both set of parents? That is all fine however my fiancé's farther passed away several years ago and his mother has a new partner of three years. Would the grooms mothers partner sit at the top table too? If not then who would go in his place? Thanks |
