Question: What to do about Camera situation? Posted: 25 Nov 2016 02:10 PM PST My dad had retired and I am supposed to get money every month because I'm under 18, I have wanted a Nikon D5300 for so log because I really enjoy taking pictures and the first time the check came he took it so I set up for direct deposit and it came yesterday and I bought the camera along with a coat because it is winter time. This is the first time I have ever went behind his back to buy something I really wanted. He is a very strict parent my mom is the one who isn't crazy and I'm scared to tell him because I don't know what to do. He has threatened to kick my mom out if she kept on nagging him about the money that he took from me. It is illegal to take the money that I am supposed to get and he really didn't want me to get this camera because he kept talking about my phone camera and like other camera like really old kodaks with the flim that cost like 25 cents and I've tried to explain but I've ran out of patience. Please tell me how to tell him, the camera gets here on monday, what should I do? |
Question: Should I have a problem with my son being around my nephew? Posted: 25 Nov 2016 02:04 PM PST My son is 18 and my nephew is 28. When my son was 5 and my nephew was 15 my niece who was 6 at the time came running to me and whispered in my ear "Paul is doing something weird to Kevin, auntie!" I thought she was just saying they were playing some game or whatever so I said ok and waited a good 30 minutes before I got up to go check it out. My niece came running into the room again this time upset. "Auntie, hurry!" "Kevin wants Paul to stop but Paul keeps squeezing him!" I said "Nichol, go sit down!" and I got up and calmly walked into the den because I didn't think it was really something serious. When I pushed the curtain that hung over the entrance of the den what I saw next has hurt me even unto this day. I sometimes have nightmares where I have to relive that moment over and over again. My nephew was sucking my sons penis and squeezing his testicles. My son was crying but my nephew had his free hand over my sons mouth. I ran over and kicked my nephew in the chest and stomped him. My niece got my son and wrapped up with him in a corner as I shook my nephew slapping him in the face asking him "HOW COULD YOU?!" "WHAT THE **** IS WRONG WITH YOU?!" YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO LOVE HIM!" "HE'S YOUR OWN LITTLE COUSIN!" I got my son and held him crying on the couch. My niece was trying to comfort my son and my nephew ran out and called his mom and told her that I had attacked him for no reason. Over the years we've worked passed this day. My son isn't gay thanks be to God. |
Question: Should I cut contact off with my older brother? He s kind of a jerk and always was....? Posted: 25 Nov 2016 02:03 PM PST He s 33 years old now. He always undermines my feelings and he always had this "I can say whatever I want and do whatever I want" attitude. He s never once sincerely apologized for verbally and physically bullying me when I was a child. He even makes fun of people with Tourettes disorder and other disorders. He still does this at age 33. I have anxiety and depression and he still is kind of a jerk when it comes to feelings and has almost no understanding or compassion. Should I stop communicating with him? |
Posted: 25 Nov 2016 01:56 PM PST my friend stays at her dads during the week and this week her dad was away on some trip. and he said she could stay home alone or go to her moms. so she stayed home alone but she was bored. so she toad me to come over. well i came over after school and stayed for 3 days. and we just hung out for 3 days, without going school or nothing. i didnt ask my dad so hes all pissed. BUT i text him on the first day to say i was staying at my friends and would be back whenever i felt like it. then i had to switch off my iphone due to his harassment of numerous calls and texts. well today i finally go home and i seriously regret it. cuz all he done is bully me since. first he yell and attack me, then he grounded me. now hes saying hes gonna find out who my little girlfriend is. and i toad him he really is stooping low to make threats about a 16 yr old girl. and he get so mad at me. i think hes just sour that hes not getting any action with young women, cuz hes married to my old, stretch marked mom. i mean why else would he be so annoyed? he is a sad guy and i want him arrested. oh and also he threaten to get ME arrested next time i do anything like this. said HE will call the police on ME. hes crazy. what can they arrest me for? not going home? thats not a crime and you know what i am sick of having a lame dad who acts like a mother hen, clucking around, harrassing me. my friends dad is so much cooler. he doesnt care what she does!! he knew i was staying over, he lets her help herself to alcohol, shes already had 2 abortions and he gives her money whenever she asks. he just bought her a yellow mini cooper (brand new) cuz she passed her test. shes an awful driver so im pretty sure shes gonna crash it going around a corner, but at least she got one! and she stays out til whatever time she wants. she can go home at 6am and her dad will just say good morning. if i went home at 6am, my dad would be mad. try telling a girl that you have to be home earlier than her. do u know how embarrassing that is? |
Question: My neighbors are noisey what should I do? Posted: 25 Nov 2016 01:55 PM PST I live in a townhouse and got new nextdoor neighbors around 6-7 months ago. Its a single mother with 2 sons and a daughter. Im 16 and one of her sons is a year or 2 younger than me. Anyway, several times a day i hear them stomping and running up the stairs very loudly, im not sure if its all of them who do it or if its just one person. Sometimes it will even happen at night. Its very distracting especially when im trying to study or take a nap. Same goes for my mom and sister(i live with them). What should i do? Calling police would seem a bit too much but i also dont want to get in a argument and have a problems with them. I was thinking of writing on a piece of paper saying "please dont stomp when walking up and down the stairs, thank you" but if they dont listen what are some other options? I live on florida btw if the rules are local... |
Question: Should I buy a present for my neice who is distant from me? Posted: 25 Nov 2016 01:08 PM PST I've been invited to attend my neice 15th birthday celebration, my brother and his wife have hired out a hall for this and it's a big thing in my sister in laws culture. However I am confused why I've been invited as my neice doesn't really talk to me and I tried Friending her (and her brother) on FB all to no avail so it leaves me with that they really don't want nothing to do with me? My sister in law doesn't really like me or my brothers side of the family and has never really been genuinely nice to me. So I'm going to her party to be polite for the sake of my brother but don't really know if I should bother going all the way to get her a present too since I'm not really close to her. |
Question: I don't like being at my dads house, do i do anything about it? Posted: 25 Nov 2016 01:03 PM PST if i'm here too much i just end up crying. it's not that they're abusive or anything, it's that there's too much noise and it's not as nice of a place to be as my moms is. when i'm at my dads i feel like it's me vs. them. like they're against me. there have been times where i've just completely started sobbing because of stuff my dad says. one time he said that it seems like i don't like to be at his house (which is pretty much true) and he does not want me here unless i act less "negative." but i wasn't being negative, just myself. they're christians and i'm agnostic, they're not too open minded about that. the day i told them i had asked to be excused from church to do homework (which i was overwhelmed with) and my dad told me i had to go. i was reading my book for school during the service. nobody said anything until later when i told them i was agnostic. it all went down hill from there. i love my dad, but he is very difficult to live with. i would love to live with my mom all the time, but i don't want to upset my dad to the point that he hates me. i've got about a year and a half until i can move out. what can i do?? also please don't come on here just to insult me. i'm looking for actual advice please. |

Posted: 25 Nov 2016 12:51 PM PST hi everyone. first id like to say thank you for taking the time to read this post. I am about to turn 20 years old and i feel profoundly trapped and alone. I live at home with my parents, both of which are extremely incompetent. My mother has no real world knowledge and does not even drive. My father is handicapped and only has one leg, and no job as he lives off of social security. they are constantly at each others throats and getting into physical and verbal conflict. they are in incredible debt from his medical expenses. I also have a sister whom lives at home, and has her boyfriend and 7 dogs living in this tiny, one bathroom, 3 bedroom house. During my brief time in college my father had almost died, and this mixed with my own personal depression had caused me to flunk out. I am devastatingly sad all the time, and to make matters worse, my girlfriend whom is my major source of happiness, will be leaving for college next fall. I make music which i take pride and joy in, however this is often considered to only be hobby. Medically, the stress caused by this household over the years has given me ulcers and digestive problems which only further complicate my ability to be happy. I assume there has to be somebody who has gone through this as well and hopefully somebody else will find this post and get help too. TL;DR My parents are smothering me with stress, I am sick, I don't know what to do anymore. How do I not be so overwhelmed and how do i move forward on my own. |
Question: I don t love my family? Posted: 25 Nov 2016 12:31 PM PST My parents both smoke weed around 5/6 times a day. My mom is an alcoholic and my dad is friends with a bad crowd. Three of my siblings I care for, but don t love. My eldest brother has genuinely treated me like **** my entire life calling me horrible names and making fun of me for a past of ED and self-harm. I don t love them, but I don t hate them. We ve gotten evicted, went without water, and without internet multiple times due to them smoking so much..... Does not loving them make me selfish? I am still a teenager... am I overreacting? |

Posted: 25 Nov 2016 11:54 AM PST This morning, my mom handed me a package to open from the mail (because she thought a pair of pants she ordered for me had come). I opened it and pulled out two t-shirts and just stared at the top one (I didn't see the one underneath) for what felt like 20 seconds (but it was probably only like 5). As soon as I realized what it was, I covered it with the packaging so I wouldn't see it and handed them to her. Then she said,"Oh...those are some presents...I have to see if they fit..." so I answered, "You can match it up with a something that already fits me." Then she went into my room. The shirt I was staring at (on top), I already had. I thought maybe if she looked through my closet, she would see that I already own the shirt and return it....but I don't think she saw it. How should I tell her? I would feel bad if I didn't tell her until she actually gave me the shirts on Christmas. But it's been like an hour since I saw them and I would feel weird to bring it up. I was thinking, I could wear that shirt today and then she would figure it out...should I do that? I don't know what to do, I never know what to do in these types of situations. Any ideas? |
Question: Should I Drop Out of Highschool ? Posted: 25 Nov 2016 11:47 AM PST I am a Junior with bad grades tbh, I don't really want to do any classwork especially when I'm not getting anything from it..I've been offered a job by a family mem in construction painting. They work from 5am - 3pm Monday to Friday & Holidays off, they get paid everyweek about 800 something cash (no taxes). I have no problem going early, I mostly work with people, and I used to paint with my dad around the house like the living room, hallway, bathroom, etc. There are also a lot of young people working there I think I woukd have enough to buy a house, car, food, bills, clothes, and stuff I want to buy. |
Question: I think I found my fathers family on Facebook what should I do? Posted: 25 Nov 2016 11:46 AM PST |
Question: My mom is turning my dad against me. Part 2? Posted: 25 Nov 2016 11:14 AM PST y. She has a habit of forgetting what she said the minute after she says it and my dad knows that. My mom and I go back and forth and eventually my dad goes back upstairs, I go upstairs and my mom goes to the store. The conversation was dismissed. I hear my mom on the phone with my dad and when my dad sees that I can hear her, he turned the volume down. I leave and they continue to talk. My dad calls me back in and he talks to me. He accuses me of trying to tear my parents apart and tells me that I cause ALL of the problems in the house. I find out that my mom told him about a text I sent her about him. The text wasn't even bad. It literally said, "Dad leaves later than he said he would then gets mad and says that Matthew and I are wasting his time and he's not going to tolerate it?" That's all the text said. Not even bad! He tells me that I complain to him about my mom (which I do because my mom isn't a good person and I believe she hates me) and then I go back to my mom and complain about him. That text was just one time. I love my dad. It was useless to what happened so I believe she wants to make me look bad. And I believe that she called him right after she left so that I couldn't tell him what happened. Anyways, when my dad told me that I was the source of all problems in the house, I cried and then he told me to get out and go. I called my brother because I was having suicidal thoughts. (Part 2. Please go on my page and find part 3) pls |
Question: Who else can I stay with? Posted: 25 Nov 2016 11:10 AM PST I'm 31 My mom passed away last year I can't afford an apartment in staying with my uncle for a short while. My uncle is in his 70"s he was kind of pushy about making a doctors appointment which is an hour 22 minutes away I kept saying I think we should wait he wouldn't listen he doesn't know the roads that well. I thought staying with my uncle was ok for a short while I'm starting to feel uncomfortable. He is diabetic takes his insulin while I have breakfast we go food shopping at the crack of dawn before breakfast. At the beginning he would say drink your orange juice drink your milk I make sure I drink it fast so he won't say it. I could ask my moms friend for suggestions I talk to my dad often. I think it's crazy to go an hour 22 minutes for a doctors appointment. I feel more comfortable and happy at my dads. |
Question: My mom is turning my dad against me? Posted: 25 Nov 2016 11:10 AM PST This is very long I hope it fits. It all started this morning when my mom came downstairs and told me that she told my dad that I would put away the food he cooked. I asked why I had to do it and she said because she heard me. I assumed she meant heard me up because my brother wasn't up yet. Skipping ahead, I got upset because my brother and I were supposed to do it together. Anyways, she asked me a question about a movie and I ignored her. We start arguing and my dad told us to stop he asked what happened and I said what she said. She told him that wasn't true and that she asked me about the food, not that she told me to put it away. (This is part one. Pls find part 2 on my page and read it. Please. I really need help) |
Posted: 25 Nov 2016 11:03 AM PST My birthday is December 22nd and usually my parents would get me presents for both occasions. I am turning 14 this year and they're saying my birthday presents are also going to be my Christmas presents so on Christmas morning I won't have anything for me under the tree but my siblings will. Idk why they are doing this, should I try and convince them otherwise? I feel like it is not fair at all that my older sister and brother can get Christmas presents and I can't. What should I do |
Question: What can I do about this situation with my aunt? Posted: 25 Nov 2016 10:47 AM PST This is kind of a long story so I am going to summarize it as much as possible. I live alone with my grandmother and pay her rent to live upstairs. My aunt has been and always will be a bad person. I am sorry to say I'd be better off if I never saw her again. But lately she has been coming over to my grandmothers house and trying to go upstairs and basically scoping out her house for things she wants. She comes over everyday and purposely tries to start fights too. Now she just called and accused my grandmother of throwing HER stuff away or giving it away telling her she counts my grandmothers things and knows they are missing. I can't take this womans crap anymore and my grandmother keeps allowing it. I REFUSE to let her go upstairs ever again. I don't want her up there, plain out. She has also gone through my bathroom garbage twice that I know of. Any advice? This all just makes my blood boil with anger. |

Posted: 25 Nov 2016 09:42 AM PST She won't let me go because she says he doesn't deserve to have me. I can't ask the judge because my Dad won't appeal as he says he doesn't want to deal with my Mom and will see me at Spring Break. I feel sad because all my friends have Dads at the holidays even if their parents are divorced but I do not. I also won't get to see my grandparents on my Dad's side or my two cousins. My Mom is also mad because my Dad is remarrying next summer. How do I get over feeling so sad about this. I am 13 and haven't felt this sad before. Yesterday was an awful day because of it as Christmas will be also. My Dad lives 5 hours away so travel would be involved. |
Posted: 25 Nov 2016 09:40 AM PST I ASKED THIS IN LGBT EARLIER TODAY. I have no problem with gender change (in fact my cousin had it). However, my Dad is 81 and recently widowed. Now he wants to have gender change. He also has Parkinson's so I wonder why when he likely has only 5 years left (as an estimate). My sister is lesbian and my Dad keeps saying he wants to be like her. My Dad was heterosexual I assume though as he was married 52 years and even critical at first when my sister came out lesbian (he came to support her overtime). What might this be? Serious answers please. |
Question: My uncle unblocked me on Facebook, Should I add him as a friend? Posted: 25 Nov 2016 09:39 AM PST He gets abusive when grouchy (means well but is not the most pleasant person). His wife was at war with my mother 6 years ago so he blocked me. It felt weird he was punishing me for my mother or aunt's sins. Now the war has ended and I noticed he has unblocked me on Facebook. It has been about 4 years since my aunt and Mom ended their war. He also sees us several times a year. His two daughters still have me blocked. I think they may have just forgotten. So should I add him or not bother? I would kind of like to for family photos but don't know how it would rub him as he is not the most pleasant. |
Question: How can I deal with sadness? Posted: 25 Nov 2016 09:38 AM PST I have to go to my dad s house everyother weekend but I hate going over there. It smells bad and he is mean and so is my step mom. I love my real mom more than anything in the world and I want to stay with her, but I m court ordered to go over there. We don t have enough money to go back to court so I m forced to go. I just have such a bad problem with seperation. I can t help but be sad, and I get panic attacks. Please help me. |

Posted: 25 Nov 2016 08:56 AM PST I feel she robbed me of those years through her divorce bitterness and so I owe it to my Dad to favor him as an adult. I am close to my Dad and only tolerant of my Mom. |

She only talks to our mom when she needs something. -When I grew to be a man I started taking care of our mom, as she has no money or resources and started getting old and frail. -My sister has stolen money from me, borrowed money that she never paid back and has consistently borrowed things from me to which she's never returned. -My sister has never said thank you to me for anything and every time I see her she says insulting things to me. -Every time I see her in like family gatherings she'll say disrespectful things to me that aren't true and then say she'll pray for me. -My sister kicked her step daughter out on the streets (aged 15), because in court they were no longer legally liable to care for the teenaged girl (the girl's real mom is a junky). -My sister is obsessed with celebrity gossip and how miserable attractive female celebrities are. It has nothing to do with me but makes me worried that she only wants to see me fail, too. -I miss and love her, yet I feel happier by being distant from her yet she cries foul about it to our family but she's such a shady and mean person to me. -How should I handle her? |

Question: Teenage girls who can drive would you do this? Posted: 25 Nov 2016 08:15 AM PST I have to leave in a few minutes to take my dad to work. Question: I had a sleepover with my girlfriend. Should I tell my parents?? Posted: 25 Nov 2016 08:12 AM PST We are both 15. She told her parents that she is staying the night at one of her girl friend's house. My parents were out for the night, so I invited her over. We watched movies and cuddled. We did fall asleep in the same bed. We didn't have sex, though. When morning came, I tried to sneak her out without my parents seeing, but my 17 year old sister saw. She said she is going to tell our parents (which is funny, because she got pregnant at 15 and had a baby at 16). I threatened to stun her with my taser if she told them. This was last weekend. My parents still don't know, and I don't know if my sister will eventually tell them. Should I just come clean and tell them so my sister doesn't get that satisfaction? |
Question: Why does my mom crave attention so much especially negative? Posted: 25 Nov 2016 07:59 AM PST She craves for it often, she will ignore me so I stop talking to her then she answers later on. On facebook she post stuff often shares it when someone doesn't notices it over and over. She body shamed me once I didn't really say anything but I really wish I asked if I told her to eat a salad how would you feel? When someone is depressed because they lost a family member like their mom she calls them a baby but she does the same thing in front of me I get it you're depressed about it but don't bring others down so much. She also likes to control people if she doesn't get her way she acts like a child. |
Question: How do I convince my parents to give me back my phone? Posted: 25 Nov 2016 07:56 AM PST I got my phone taken away since Sunday that was 5 days and my parents still won't give it back. I was mad at my stepdad for calling me immature so I was rude to him because I asked my mom to talk to her maturely. She was the one that took it away. I said something fresh to his face because he really gets me so upset, that's how I got it taken away in the first place. I tried to ask how I can earn it back but that's not even an option because that will make my punishment longer before you say do that I want you guys to be aware of that. My stepdad keeps saying no every time I ask that question and "you can't negotiate punishment" |

Posted: 25 Nov 2016 07:35 AM PST I am 16 years old. My parents are extremely strict. Since young, they've hit me (only when I've done something wrong, of course). As such, from young, I've developed a fear towards them, especially my father. For a little over a year now, I've been suffering from depression. Recently, I met someone who has helped me get through it. A week ago, things got bad at home. I needed help. So, I left the house to meet him. I got home a little over 7pm and my parents were furious. I had updated them where I was, but kept the fact that I had met someone from them. Still, they were crazy mad. The next day, something bad happened to him. He was drinking, thinking of harming himself, and I was worried. I knew my parents wouldn't let me out of the house, so I cam clean and told them that I had a friend that needed me. They still didn't want to let me go. They were sure that this guy was going to murder me or rape me. Still, I insisted. I was afraid of what would happen to him if I didn't help. My dad followed me to his house. Sat on the couch, staring at us as I talked to my friend. Later on, when we went out for a breather and some food, he sat outside the store staring at us from the glass window. When we got back home, he was furious. I'm now locked up in my room, with a family I'm afraid of and without the only one who can help me. I've tried to tell my parents, to help them understand how much I needed him, but they won't listen. Now, I'm contemplating leaving the house. Not running away from home, but at least to meet him. I need help. I need him. But I'm afraid of defying my parents. |
Question: He said he forgot to come! I wish I was dead!? Posted: 25 Nov 2016 07:32 AM PST I work with a hansome man at Teletech named Brian. I asked him if he wanted to come to my place for Thanksgiving cause his family lives in Oregon an he has no family hear in West Virginia, so I made a huge meal with all the trimmings, bought a new dress that was low cut an really short an gave my self a haircut. I said we could eat around 2:00 an then watch a wonderful film I have on DVD ("From Justin To Kelly") then he could make love to me. Welp, 2:00 come an went, no Brain. Then 3:00. By 7:00 Brian had STILL not showed up. I must have called him 150 times an sent 300 texts an no response. I was worried that he had been killed or kidnapped or had diarea or something. This smorning I got a text, it was Brain telling me to quit calling an texting him! I said why, you said you was coming to dinner an watch From Justin To Kelly an make love to me. Then, OMG, he told me he FORGOT! I tell you, that hurt me so bad, I screamed an pulled 2 big wads of hair right out of my head, hit my head against the door facing an ended up having a seizure an dirtying my self. All that food was wasted, I was horny for hours an he FORGOT. I wish I was dead. |
Question: I need help understanding ? Posted: 25 Nov 2016 07:23 AM PST So lately I've gotten close with a friend of mine, our friendship is specials we've been through a lot. She has helped me so much through my problems and is always calling to check on me or send messages (vise versa). She called weeks ago saying sorry for not being on social media as much and that she's been overwhelmed and stressed. But Recently she's gotten very quiet, she always blowing up my notifications with "likes" on my posts but she hasn't been talking to me as much. I sent her a Thanksgiving message thanking her for helping me all the time and how thankful I was for her being a friend etc. I wasn't expecting a huge response but all she put was "Happy Thanksgiving also" Do you think I've annoyed her? I wanted to send a Christmas gift hoping it would lift her spirits but If I am annoying her I don't want to send it and be more of a bother. What do you think is up? |

Question: Is it wrong to do this ? Posted: 25 Nov 2016 06:56 AM PST Me and my sister are in love we like to kiss cuddle and hug each other. We even sleep together. Is this wrong ? |
Posted: 25 Nov 2016 06:37 AM PST I thought she was just joking. She was abused sexually as a kid by someone in her step-father's family and is in therapy for it so I thought it was a punchline about therapy. Then she pulled out the sex-change prescription and I realized she was serious. I only see this cousin at Thanksgiving and maybe on other time of the year as her Dad is a drunk and often declines to come. So how can I apologize to her so she doesn't hate me when she is a he next Thanksgiving? Her name is Molly and she's changing to Mike. |
Posted: 25 Nov 2016 06:34 AM PST I would only be sad for a day or two if he died but my parents would hurt a longtime. He is a womanizer and rages at times (has gotten better). Plus he smokes pot every day (though legal where he lives in I think (near Seattle). So I just found out he is moving to Los Angeles after the holidays. But, if he moves there the big one is expected to hit in the next ten years (earthquake) and he will die if it does hit. For me while I hope he lives it is not a big loss if he doesn't (I love him as a brother but no other connection). For my parents it is their child (though he's 29) and they will not recover. So how can I get past this if he dies in the earthquake or if it were to happen some other way? |
Question: Drunk parent trama. Please help!? Posted: 25 Nov 2016 06:20 AM PST One time a few years ago I was sick after a Christmas party my family had. My mom had drank a little to much and was drunk. My parents started to fight about who would take care of me. My mom tried to walk into my room and my dad tried to stop her causing her to fall over. After that I ran to my litte brother and sitters room crying. At the time they were 7 so they didn't know what was going on. Even though my dad is hot headed he called the police and they came to my house. I had thoughts of my parents getting a divorce or one of them hurting the other. The police asked me questions and and no one was hurt but it was a very tramatic experience that I can't get over I have never told anyone about what happened that night and I don't think anyone in my family even remembers. Its been stuck in my head for 3 years, I am 14 now so this happened when I was ten. I keep getting awful dreams about that night. How can I get over this? Please help! |
Posted: 25 Nov 2016 06:17 AM PST Months pregnant. As a middle aged man many believe I shouldn't be having children. What is your advice? |
Question: Why were they rude to me? Posted: 25 Nov 2016 06:13 AM PST I was not in the wrong. I am 39. I recently joined a new band. I am the oldest member. The other 2 members are 17 and 20. Neither of them own their own car(siblings) they have to share a car with parents. When I first went to play music with them, I asked them. "Why not come to my place next time to practice?" They said "We will have to see." I said "See what? Ya'll are 17 and 20, when I was your age I didn't have to see." They said, "No need to get defensive with us. We share a care with our parents. We don't have our own." I said "Why not? Ya'll moochers?" The 17 year old said "Dude, stop with the name calling." The 20 year old said, "I'm not going into details but for personal reasons, we both had to wait until a year ago to get permits, and obviously we don't have our own car just yet, but that is none of your business man, so please don't feel the need to call us names just because we aren't like you." I said "Wow, get over yourselves." And left. Why would they treat me like that? Aren't I(39) in the same age group as them? Why are they so held back compared to me? I am only 12 minutes from them, and they've got a drum set already so I never bring mine but still... What would you do? Why were they rude to me? |
Posted: 25 Nov 2016 06:10 AM PST The bad aunt they were picking on was not there (so it was behind her back). She has a daughter she has turned on. The daughter was there as my mother and the good aunt reach out to her. Her mother has a narcissistic like style of parenting where she pours love on the really easy going good daughter and dumps on the daughter who in high school was a little hard (is fine now). I agree this aunt is dead wrong to do this to her daughter. She also has a son who she treats average but he is older from her 1st marriage and lives with his Dad (has Autism). So this aunt refuses to come to holidays if her daughter she considers bad is there. She even contacted a friend of this daughter's and dumped on the daughter. Her good daughter she spends every holiday with, spoils silly, and lives near. The Dad (aunt's 2nd husband) is out of the picture (an alcoholic) and no one has heard from him in years. So my question is am I okay to be nice to the "bad aunt" who my mother, sister, and brother are beyond disgusted by? My grandmother is the only one nice to this aunt (grandfather has died). She also has a cousin who stays in touch. Or since this aunt is so mean to her daughter should I just be mean about the aunt? I am an adult so free to choose. |
Question: What to do about my awkward dad? Posted: 25 Nov 2016 05:58 AM PST My dad is extremely awkward and weird, especially when I bring a boy over. He's very nerdy and sometimes I feel like I was born with the wrong parents because I'm way more alike to his brother. I don't know how to get my dad away when I have my boyfriend over because it's embarrassing. |

Posted: 25 Nov 2016 05:21 AM PST And how do I shake it off come Christmas as I know she wouldn't want me to be sad. |
Posted: 25 Nov 2016 05:20 AM PST Simply telling her hasn't worked. I sometimes see them as I am an adult now but growing up she never let me. They are private people so I can't invite myself to their houses and stuff so still miss out sometimes on extended family because of my Mom (the other cousins get together because their parents do). So how do I get my mother to see this and how do I go about accepting it and moving on? I asked earlier this morning but didn't get any answers. |
Question: How will my parents react to this girl? Posted: 25 Nov 2016 04:57 AM PST My friends and I found a girl in the woods. She looks weird and her hair is shaved. We tried talking to her but we see she has very limited vocabulary. So we took her home to my parent's house We made her a sanctuary in the basement since my parents rarely go there. 2 days have passed now. I am feeding her leftover foods and my friends come to our house after school and we teach her English. She now know few words. What should I do? If I tell my parents, will they take her away? Strange Things are happening here lately by the way...I think she came from the mental hospital nearby I asked what is her name and she said Eleven |

Question: Ladies would you do this? Posted: 25 Nov 2016 03:46 AM PST I will be leaving soon to go to my sisters house to watch my niece while my sister and brother in law go shopping. Since I am just going to her house and coming home later this afternoon I am going to drive barefoot and leave my shoes at home. I hate to wear shoes unless I have too and I don't need shoes to drive my car or at my sisters house. |
Question: What do I do with this nanny?!? Posted: 25 Nov 2016 03:44 AM PST Ok so my family and I moved here to Philippines. We got a nanny and her mom claimed that she was 17. The first morning I asked her to iron my uniform then she just nodded. Later on I looked at my uniform it was still wrinkled as before! So I had to do it myself. When I went home tha day my mom told me that she didnt know how to do any thing! She didnt know how to cook, do laundry, iron, and she almost broke some stuff so my mom and I had to do everything instead. Everytime I'm around her minding my own business, I could feel her stare at me and when my classmate came over she felt her staring too. Some of the fruits I bought in baguio were gone or some were missing and of course no one else would eat it except her. When my mom always sees her shes always eating. The whole family isnt at home for most of the day so who knows how much she's been eating! She also takes 2-3 showers a day! All she does here is nothing but eat and watch TV! We provide her with everything.shampoo, etc., food, and her own room! My mom finally asked her why shes like this and she said shes just 15! Like me! We couldnt replace her bc her mom got her salary beforehand. And finally the thing that made me snap was that she stole money from my piggybank which was a project for my AP/EP class! I was gonna put my daily excess money in but when I picked it up it was lighter that before(started 6 months ago) then I noticed the top where the hole was at was damaged! only one paper money was left with coins! Her mom begged and said they needed money right away. And she also said that our nanny was turning 18 this year. We talked to her mom when we found out she was my age and her mom didnt want her sent back since she cant return the money. We're replacing her next month but I need to know how to deal with her stealing my money which was inside my room. I cant just let her get away with it since its just not right. I'm sorry, it seems that I used the wrong word. I dont know how to speak tagalog and everyone else said that 'yaya' means nanny. When I argued it was maid, they simply said its just the same so I got used to it. I'm sorry, it seems that I used the wrong word.
